Provided technical assistance as a Technician 3 for the FAA's ERAM Project nationwide. Duties included the installation
ofCAT 5, Fiber Optic cables also installation and configuration of computer network equipment. *Background check
performedby the FAA. Obtained Public Trust level. Project included the installation of 3,000 to 6,000 CAT 5 cables to the
maximumpermitted length of 300 ft. The installation of these cables into 2 channels which began on the control room floor,
terminatedinto a total of 28 cabinets which contained four Cisco 4800 series 48 port switches. Cable pulls totaled15to
30cables eachrun for a required goal of 300 or more per shift. Testing and labeling of these cables completed upon
installation. Additionalinstallations of CAT 5 cabling into air traffic controller testing areas, administrative facilities, Fiber
Optic cabling andterminations were also performed. During the second phase of the installation process, the building of
"R" and "D" typeconsoles for the Air Traffic Controllers for training and live consoles along with testing were completed.
Minor electrical dutiessuch as the construction of plugs for the consoles were required. Additional materials such as
junction boxes, printers andother network equipment were also installed. Final testing and corrections are made then
signed off and handed off to theGovernment.
