Color:
The color scheme of the
website is
Set according to the theme
of their new album “A head
full of dreams”. Where the
main color is grey and the
icons and titles are in multi
colors. I am loving this
color combination it makes
it look more elegant.
Coldplay always changes
the color scheme of their
website according to their
latest album. The text is
written in white which
makes it pop out and the
clipart like cloud and
hearts are also in white
color which makes a link
between them and ehite
doesn’t look ood.
FONTS:
The font for the name of the band and album is
serif font which also makes it elegant. The main
multi colored pattern in circle compliments the
color scheme very well. Where as the font used
for name of categories is simple sans serif font
which has a small size and is in capital letters.
Layout:
we can see a bar of cstegories on the left side of
the website under the band name. on the rest of
the page we can see the promotion of their new
album.
3. There are five circle/buttons placed in a
line. “the new album out now” is written
in capital and bold letters to promote
their new album the text is written in
white so it pops out and in sans serif
simple font for the clarity of the text. The
have written “get your copy:” which is
written to attract audience and direct
them to the links to buy the album. This is
done on first page so whoever opens the
website can see it. When we click on
iTunes we are taken to this page:
4. CATEGORIES:
We can see that every category has a special symbol which is same in all
coldplay website themes. Im sure all these icons are a symbol of something.
-This hour glass is a representation of time so it is used as a symbol of
timeline. I really like how they have made their website unique by
these ideas.
Now ill explain every category separately:
5. CATEGORY-NEWS:
We can see the news about their songs and band here in
square boxes. The time is also written beneath them. We can
definitely say that this website id updated about the news
regularly as the time span between them is between 2 to 4
days. Another amazing this i saw in this category is that we can
search for news:
Here when I clicked the
month button a drop down
list of months was displayed I
selected “January” from it
and year “2012” from the
year button and clicked “go”.
Then all the news between
this time were displayed.
6. CATEGORY: TOUR
There is not much to talk about in this
category
Here all the tours for their new album, are
listed with their date ,month and day
mentioned. There is also an option which
takes the audience directly to the store where
online tickets are being sold.
7. CATEGORY: MUSIC
In this category of “music” we can see the songs of their new album
on the top. The name of songs are written in white color which
makes it pop out. When u click at “Buy” it will take us to the website
where we can buy online.

8. CATEGORY: VIDEOS
Here all the official music
videos of the songs are
available to watch. The time
is also mentioned. There are
3 videos in a row.
9. CATEGORY:TIMELINE
This is the timeline of the website. Here is some information about the
news of the songs and upcoming festivals etc. This is kind of very
confusing and there is not much in this category its just plain white and
text in black.
-There is also an option of maps
explained in the next slide:
10. When we click on the map section we can see the
world map and if we click on a circle it is zoomed. This
is the zoomed one:
-I really loved this website as its
very easy to find anything. The
website is very organized and
the color scheme and layout are
very good too.
11. APPEAL TO TARGET AUDIENCE:
The coldplay website has all of their latest songs and information about their events coming up. People
find it very easy to find information regarding coldplay. Some videos cannot be found on internet so
coldplay website has all the videos of their songs. People can find everything like concerts, tours, tickets,
meetups, latest songs, lyrics , music videos etc. The website is also updated regularly. I really loved this
“map” concept and ill try to keep this in mind while creating my own website.
