1. Survivor
On one of our first days of class, we were separated into groups. Within our groups we received
a paper that explained a group activity. We had to come together as a diverse group and decide
out of 13 people, what four were we going to save. There was a flu that broke out amongst the
world and it killed off everyone except for 13 people. There was a bunker that held supplies,
books, and other sorts of things that would hopefully allow the four we chose to survive. Within
our group, we decided to save the scientist, a hippie drug addict, an army officer who was
mentally instable, and the doctor. We picked the scientist because we figured he could either
come up with a cure to the flu strand or he could contribute to the development of life once
they got out of the bunker. We also picked the hippie drug addict because we felt like if they
are a druggie then they are more likely to have to kind of medication on them so they could
help out by supplying their stash of drugs. I honestly didn’t agree with this one as much but
compromise is for the best. We thought we should keep the army officer because even though
he has a mental instability, he could come in handy for many situations. If someone started
actin up or stopped pulling there wait in the bunker the army officer could act as a judge kind of
thing or could enforce the rules. The last person we decided to keep was the doctor. Even
though we didn’t have any operating material, we thought in case of emergencies it would be
good do have a doctor around. I mean, they are going to have to repopulate the earth together
so they need someone there who knows what they are doing. There were others we could have
kept instead but we believed that these four would be the best candidates to live in the bunker.
