2. Universal Design of
Learning (UDL)
- UDL is taking in
consideration of the
surroundings of a
learner, and the learner
themselves.
- There are many
Foundations, Principles,
and Components to
UDL.
- We will explore how UDL
works for everyone, and
not just select students.
3. According to the UDL Center,
there are three principle
foundations of learning that an
educator must be aware of.
◦ How does the learner pick up
information.
◦ How do they express and act on
that information.
◦ How were they engaged by the
learning situation.
4. UDL adapts to ALL
students!
Consider all aspects!
With or with out
“disabilities”.
5. UDL Center
recommends as a
teacher using UDL, it is
important to:
◦ Make sense of the
information that is
presented.
◦ Provide multiple means
of action and
expression
◦ Take action on what the
students know.
◦ Also, multiple means of
engagement.
◦ Make learning important!
