1. QUESTION 1
IN WHAT WAYS DOES YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT USE, DEVELOP OR CHALLENGE FORM AND CONVENTIONS OF REAL
MEDIA PRODUCTS?
2. DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD
I looked at other double page spreads to see which one I can base mine on and eventually I came to a
decision on what I was going to use to make my double page spread. I used it as a guideline so that my
one looked professional and had more detail on it. My final double page spread looks professional and
also looks sophisticated. As you can see my double page spread has a main image that features on the
documentary which gives the audience an indication on what to expect in the documentary. Also, the
headline that is also over the top of the main image makes the double page spread stand out as it is big
and bold and is over an image which makes the headline stand out more and makes people want to see
it. The other image of myself appearing in the documentary also sets an image for the audience as they
know what to expect in the documentary and know what it is going to look like. The colours used are a
simple black and white because they work well together and makes the article and the images stand out
more. Also, in the double page spread that I am basing it on is also black and white; so I kept to this
colour scheme as I felt it would make my documentary look better and make it not look tacky. The
content of the article sells the documentary to the audience and also gives them an overview of a very
jiggered history; it gives a clear understanding on why the documentary is being made.

5. NEWSPAPER ADVERT
The TV company logo used was BBC Three as the BBC are popular with making sports documentaries
and so I thought it would be the best if we said it was going to be on there. Also, I included my own
production logo so it shows who made the documentary and makes it look more professional as it
shows that a real production as made the documentary. The main image I used was a picture I took of
the Jimmy Hill statue. I chose this picture because Jimmy Hill is an iconic figure in the history and so it
would be suitable if he was the front of the advert. The tagline is used because it adds effect on the
documentary as it gives a good caption on what is being advertised. Also, in the bottom corner it gives
information about the documentary and what the documentary is going to be about. It is based on an
advertisement made by BBC Three and is very similar to it which shows that my documentary is also at a
professional standard.

8. DOCUMENTARY
In my documentary I used voiceovers which is effective as it tells the audience information about
Coventry City and the history of them. Also, I use voiceovers so that there can be footage of Coventry
City through the history and show the achievements made by the club. The transitions used when it
fades in and out from scene to scene is much better than it going straight into a scene because it makes
the documentary flow better and makes it a lot more sophisticated. The location I am at when
presenting is suitable because I am at the Ricoh Arena which is where Coventry play and so it was ideal
to film there and make sure it features in the documentary. Text is used at the end of the documentary
to show who was part of the documentary and also special font is used when talking about Jimmy Hill
before the credits. The background music put in at the start is used because it is a famous Coventry City
song and so the audience will immediately know what it will be about.
