between the ages of 3 and 11. It takes place during the summer holiday and it is a five day
programme in August. Before the beginning of the holiday club the executives, that is the Pastor and

pilgrims' stories covered a large spectrum of subjects and morals along the way. The wide variety of

why after years of living here I have decided to explore. I stop by the Saenger Theatre located on
Canal Street. According to the Saenger official website, the Saenger Theatre opened on February 4,
1927. This source claims the theatre took three years to build and cost $2.5 million. The building is
such a staple on Canal. Before its renovation in 2013, the outside of it looked like something I could
pass up easily especially during the daytime. Now as I walked on the sidewalk. I see on the outside
of the building a timeline of historical events. I could not help admiring the facts posted around the
building. They were vibrant colored pictures detailing some facts about the Saenger and some
fascinating historical events. A notable picture talks about the first "talkie" to debut at the Saenger
which was Lights of New York. Walking inside I feel a high–class aura that also feels welcoming.
High extravagant ceilings was one of things I noticed in the lobby.

The Road Cormac Mccarthy Analysis
The Road by Cormac McCarthy tells the story of a father and his son trying to survive in a post–
apocalyptic world. In the book, McCarthy sets up different themes and he constructs them through
his choices in The Road. One theme McCarthy shows is that in a world of despair, we must choose
to focus on the good things, we can focus on these good things only if we let ourselves do so.
McCarthy displays this theme when the father remembers his wife's death. This memory occurs to
the man after his son says, "I wish I was with my mom" (McCarthy, 55). From the text, it is inferred
that the wife had a strong dislike towards her son, the boy, and the world she was living in.
McCarthy displays her hatred through the quote, "Sooner or later they will catch us and kill us. They
will rape me. They'll rape him. They are going to find us. They are going to rape us and kill us and
eat us and you won't face it" (McCarthy, 56). The quote uses a polysyndeton, as McCarthy repeats
the idea of being killed and raped, and creates a dark setting and harsh tone as the wife tells the man
of the bad things to come if they stay in this world any longer. From this quote, McCarthy states that
the wife would kill herself rather than face these dangers and that she chooses death over the man
and her child. McCarthy explains this through the quote, "I've taken a new lover. He can give me

I can see that the truth is a mirage. To put it simply, there is a real truth between hundreds of layers
of manufactured truth. The truth I may know at a moment in time will be altered if a second point of
view is added to my truth; the truth is therefore an illusion. What one person may regard as the truth
is different from what another may believe and that is because we absorb specific moments of time
based on what we think is important and that is how memories and truths are created or dare I say,
manufactured. In relation to the short story "In a Grove" by Akutagawa, you can clearly observe this
phenomena, as I choose to call it, occur. The bandit, wife, samurai and witnesses have all chosen to
absorb specific moments of this event. The question I place forward is, is this deliberate or
unintentional? Or is this an effect of cognitive biases? There is truth in the midst of the confessions
