2. Silva Grav
Silva Grav was born in Spain 1993. she leant how to draw ‘before she could talk’ then later realised
this is was she wanted to do. She then started to study fine arts.
Silva Grav has done many different mages using experimental photography. Most of the images
that I searched relating this photographer were their manipulation images. This is because I think
that the way that they have done their images is very unique. They stand out amongst others and
they make you think exactly how it has been made. You can see the from images I got offline that
they are all similar but different, because they are all very strange which fit perfectly within the
manipulation style but the colours are the same. That all have the same sepia/black and white
colour to them.
This is fine art styled photography as it is an expression of how the photographer is feeling and
what they are imagining, they haven't been asked to do something in particular and are not set to
a brief.
This style of photography is non-traditional as they use very modern techniques such as
Photoshop, which you can see from the images that none of the images are taken and are real.
You would see these images used on blogging sites such as tumblr. You may also see these images
used within an advert in a magazine or billboard.
3. Bela Borsodi
Bela Borsodi was born In Vienna in 1966. then went onto studying graphic design and fine art
and studied to work as a photographer. He them moved to new york in 1992 then started to
focus more on still life photography in 1999 which is still his main direction of work.
Bela Borsodi has some very unique images, that stand out very loud against all the other images
you would see. This is because they are very bold in colour and they are very different to what
you have seen before. You can see from the images I got offline her images are very fashion
related and very feminine as there is a lot of handbags and shoes and females involved within
the images.
He uses both fine art and commercial styles within his work because some of his photography is
art and his imaginations and purely pieces of art work. Then others are created to advertise as
he works with some advertisers so he will be given a brief to stick by.
His work fits in with the contemporary style because he uses both traditional and nontraditional techniques.
You could see these images used in advertising to advertise fashion you may see them on the
side of shops or on the side of bus shelters they could be used for fashion advert used because
they stand out and catch peoples attention.
4. Melinda Gibson
Melinda Gibson was boring in the UK in 1985 and is currently living in London. She studies
photography at the London college and is now a HPL lecturer in photography at Nottingham Trent
university. She published a book called the photograph as contemporary art and it was chosen as
one of the best books of 2012 by photo-eye.
Melinda Gibson photography is very strange in the way that the images almost don’t make any
sense. If you look at them the images you are seeing are not in the correct colours and textures as
they should be. This makes them very interesting to look at because you are intrigued to look
further into the image and you then start to think about that the photographer may have been
thinking about while taking the images.
This style of images are fine art as they are made purely for art and not a purpose. They are not
used to advertise or made to fit within a brief they are an expression of someone's mind. These
images also use the non-traditional style and this is where the photographer used more modern
techniques and digital production.
These images would mostly be seen within a gallery, where people
would come to see these amazing images. The reason they
wouldn’t be on much else is because they are images that are
made to be looked at closely and though about. They could be
placed within a book for people to look at but not as likely as an
art gallery.
