2. The role of a production company, such as
the one my group and I created, is to actually
create the film for the distribution company
they are given the money and they put it
together. Our name ‘City Cloud Pictures’
shows that it creates films like the film we
were creating because ours is set in a city and
‘City’ is in the name of the company.
Our logo my group and I created for our production company has a London
silhouette on it to show the name is true with the word city. This helps create the
real feel that it is a production company because they are a separate institution in
there own rite even though they are used by distribution companies.

3. Distribution companies such as Icon, on the right
here, they market the films that are made by the
production companies but they are also the pay for
the film to be made and also they set the release
dates and choose how the film is going to be shown.
Whether in cinemas or not and whether or not it
comes out onto DVD or is downloadable on the
internet.
The reason we chose Icon as our distribution
company was because we found out that they do
fund British films and some of them have been
bigger and smaller than others so we thought that is
a good reason to distribute the film. Since they are a
big company that does make big films and smaller
films they would be the ones providing the money to
produce the film.

4. The way our film would be screened is that it would go into cinemas first, probably
Indie cinemas. Then after that it would be able to buy on DVD and may be shown
on TV.
The certification of our film would be a 12a/12 because the overall tone of the film
will be a little bit unsettling and a little bit disturbing so it wouldn’t be a PG as
younger children may be upset by some of the content but also it would be these
because there would be very infrequent use of swearing and it would only be
classed as moderate language so the words used would be such as ‘Bitch’ and
‘Twat.’ Also because it will show very moderate scenes of violence but it wouldn’t
dwell on details such as blood being spilled all over the place and the repeated
stabbing of someone with blood spilling out of them.
