How Module 6 Helped Me Improve and Achieve My Goals
1.
2. One of my favorite class assignments would have to be the service learning
assignment. I really did learn a lot about thrift stores and how they worked. It
helped me realize that even just my small amount of 7 hours earned meant
the world to them. It really gave me a boost in confidence.
Another assignment that was enjoyed would have to be the Dr. Chew videos.
Although some felt like they repeated others… they all were so informative
and gave me new techniques on how to study better or even retain information
better. His videos will stick with me and always be remembered when I need
to study for a big test!
For the last favorite assignment, I would have to choose the class letter. I
know it was one of the last assignments we did, but I actually got really excited
to type the letter! I thought it was really fun and great idea. Even if the next
class doesn’t actually read the paper, It made me come to some great
realizations while writing it.
3. My first favorite entry was the Self-Assessment test at the beginning
and end of this course. It helps you see how well you’ve done and the
areas in which need more work. This assignment was very helpful and
will help me better achieve my goals outside of class.
My second favorite entry would be where we put our daily routines in
quadrants that would help us see which were truly more important.
This helped me realize how much time I wasted on unnecessary
activities. It also helped me keep on track with my goals. While
completing this assignment I had a reality check and noticed how
much I was doing that was not getting me anywhere near my goals!
Finally, I liked the entry where we really in depth on support systems.
This assignment made me realize that I didn’t have much of a support
system that actually helped. I didn’t work too hard on getting a better
support system, at least not as much as I should have, but I did try to
make more friends at school which I succeeded! My goal is to make
more friends that will better support me and my dreams!
4. Module 6 is my all time favorite!
Not only did it have the service
learning paper and the letter to
the class, but it also contained
journal entries 29 & 33. Journal
entry 29 helped me realize how
much anger, frustration,
happiness and joy can affect my
emotions. Journal entry 33
contained the last self
assessment test in it! So I was
able to see how well or how bad I
did with learning. This module
contained all my favorite
assignments and more!
5. 1. I will always keep my goals written down
somewhere so I can better keep on track.
2. I will carry around Dr. Chews study
techniques to better retain information in my
future courses.
3. I will not let my emotions affect the way I do
in my classes or how well I achieve my
goals.
6. Before After
57 60 1. Accepting personal responsibility.
60 65 2. Discovering self-motivation.
51 59 3. Mastering self-management
49 49 4. Employing interdependence
43 44 5. Gaining self-awareness
55 71 6. Adopting lifelong learning
50 57 7. Developing emotional intelligence.
51 53 8. Believing in myself
After viewing these results, I was generally impressed and happy with
the accomplishments I had made! Although some sections may have
only been improved by a couple of points, I was happy that I had done
better than before. Of course I still have portions to work on, but I
already feel so much better than I did 7 weeks ago. My head is in the
game even more than before and I know I will continue to improve
throughout this semester and the next.
7.
8. “I have learned to take the time each week and focus and think
in depth about my goals.”
“It gives great advice and examples of ways to better improve
yourself and your studies without forcing it upon you.”
“This course is to help you succeed in college and also in life, so
if you miss an important step or get delayed on a goal you’re
working towards, don’t let it discourage you. Just find a different
technique and continue your journey even after finals. “
9. I would be sitting at a large desk
in a big office of a 20 story tall
building. I would have a completion of
a Bachelors in Business
Administration from Austin College
hanging on my wall. I would have
enough money to help myself and my
family out and be an all around happy
woman!
10. I would be CEO of a large company or better
yet, own my own business! I would have my
family and friends by my side. I would be a
very well accomplished woman for my age and
my family would be proud!
