2. The Brief…
* You have been commissioned by the
Northern Echo to produce a new
magazine or newspaper product. Your
product could be in any style or genre but
it must be self financed through sales or
advertising. You must also produce your
magazine for a specified audience
segment within the 16-24 age group."

4. Why Dance?
* I have studied 8 different kinds of dance for 14
years!
* I have a lot of knowledge on the subject and
enjoy writing about it, which will be shown
through my articles and the expression I use
within the text"
* I know there is a gap in the market for this
magazine genre, as there are not many dance
magazines out there, and also none like mine."
* I will use the unique selling point of talking
about things which will affect a dancer, making
it more personal, rather than reviewing
performances"

8. Constraints
* The PCC is a body who deals with complaints from
members of the public about the content of magazines
and newspapers. There are 16 codes that must be
followed by magazines and newspapers. The PCC look
into complaints that have been made by individuals who
believe that the code has been breached."
* To make sure that I abide by these codes, I have created
a list of my Golden 5 Rules to take into account for my
own magazine."
9. My Golden 5
5
I will ensure that my articles will all be fully researched so I make sure that all of the
information used within is accurate and also to make sure that the audience will
understand the content as it will all make logical sense."
I will make sure that all of the places I go to when taking photos, that I have the
permission to use the land, and also to make sure that I am allowed to take photos
whilst on the their grounds."
I will double check with all my models and interviewees that I have their permission
to take photos and to make sure that I can include any details which they tell me
whilst I interview them, as some people dislike telling people certain details about
themselves, especially when it concerns their private lives."
I will ensure that I use my own photography, but if I am in dire need to use someone
else’s that I make sure I ask permission and then give credit where it is due if I get
the permission."
I will make sure that I use all of my research and stick to it, using the information I
have found from my TA and use things, which I know, will be of interest to my TA, and
use them to make my magazine look appealing."
