2. You have been commissioned by the
Northern Echo to produce a new
magazine or newspaper product. Your
product could be in any style or genre but
it must be self financed through sales or
advertising. You must also produce your
magazine for a specified audience segment
within the 16 to 18 age group.
3. - I have created a performing arts magazine-
personal interest
- I intend for it to be different to others on

8. I will make sure that I do not trespass on any land and that I will
get permission before stepping foot onto any property that is
not mine. I will also make sure that I leave as soon as they ask.
I will make sure that if I use teenagers/children as part of my
magazine I can not make them work more than 12 hours a
week so I will have to be quick taking photos and getting
information for my article.
I will make sure that I have fully researched all information so
all of it is true. I will also write it informally so some of the
information does not look like it has been copied.
I will make sure that I do not copyright someone else’s work as
this would be an offence. If I did copy someone’s work that this
can be classed as serious issue, so I would have to find out facts
from people verbally as well as in written form off the internet.
I will make sure that the photographs are all mine and that I
have no copied any ideas from other people. I will also make
sure that they are appropriate as I am using models which are
under the age of 18.

After conducting my Genre research I produced
two mocks, both with the same design but with
different interview techniques: One article was an
integrated interview and the other was a question
and answer interview article.
I then briefed my mock ups to 6 people and got
feedback on the following mock ups…
16.
17.
18. Mock up 1- Q&A interview article
- Questions and answers easier to read- scan
through it
- Highlighted words makes it interesting
- Easy to learn from
- Informal- relates to TA
- Too squished together
- Boxes are slightly different colours
- Fonts are too big
- Colours could be brighter (purple)
19. - Pictures are laid out nicely- shows individual skill
- Images individually show talents
- Colour scheme good as its neutral for male/females
- Detailed article
- Cant see some of the words because
of the background
- Background needs to be paler
- Too much writing
- Too formal
