and managed the Youth Action Fund
• Set up A Shop with a Story to
showcase and sell products from
women social entrepreneurs.
• Launched Hidden Journeys, a
unique program for visitors to meet
pioneering changemakers in Nepal
3. Challenges facing social
entrepreneurs in Nepal
• Recruiting professional staff and labor due to
continuous migration out of the country.
• Market distortion by NGOs and development
sector creates an unlevel playing field for
social enterprises.
• Endemic corruption
• Challenging topography, poor roads and
inadequate infrastructure
• Continued uncertainty – eg earthquakes,
economic blockade, floods, regular strikes,
political instability.
However, recent elections and a new Federal Structure have created a
sense of optimism and energy in the country with new opportunities for
social entrepreneurs to drive change.
4. • We have worked with 100s of
social entrepreneurs who
show resilience, ingenuity and
unwavering commitment to
create impact in Nepal.
• Intelligent, home grown
solutions to tackle social
problems
• Market based sustainable
business models that create
long term change.
21. Any time women come together with a collective
intention, it's a powerful thing. Whether it's sitting
down making a quilt, in a kitchen preparing a meal, in a
club reading the same book, or around the table
playing cards, or planning a birthday party, when
women come together with a collective intention,
magic HAPPENS.
