Death of an artist
Antoni Tàpies
He was born in 13th December
1923 in Barcelona. He was a
Catalan artist. He loved painting
and he was a famous sculptor.
His pictorical movement was the
informal art. He founded his own
fundation in1990 in Barcelona.
He had a famous teacher, Picasso.
He died in 6 February 2012 in
Barcelona when he was 88 years
old.

Purpose: to reveal the spirituality and
beauty that exists in the lowest forms .

Technique: Assemblage on canvas.

Purpose: the two opposites that form
the universe: feminine-masculine,
yin-yang, good-evil, up-down.
The fire reached the Earth from a spark
that fell from the sun.

Art style: Informalism.
Purpose: He wanted to show the Catalan influence in Spain.
He show to the people that Catalunya is beautiful and important.
Tribute to Picasso

Technique: Impressionism and Modernist.

Art style: Informalism. Sculpture
Purpose: Represents the conformist nature
of a well-to-do society and the rebellion of
another society in the throes of change.

Purpose: He wanted to show his own ideas,
and his dreams.
The Four Chronicles
Year: 1990.

Purpose: He wanted to show the most 4 important events of the
Catalan history, the Four Chronicles.
