E- Ink Analysis
E–Ink Analysis
At an early stage, E Ink had a broad perspective and considered several market opportunities, both in emerging– and mature industries, as well as
different business models, in which all leveraged their unique technology. In 1999, E Ink insured the protection of theirtechnology by acquiring 26
patents, which protected them from other firms to replicate their technology. E–ink moved forward building up a team of high quality people and the
rounds for fund–raise included investors with technology and media expertise beyond the financial corporate investors. (See Exhibit 2 from the case).

However, large amount of resources were spend for each small step forward. E Ink measured the technical performance of the electronic ink by the
amount of driving impulse needed for the ink to change colour. From 1998 to 2004, the driving impulse needed decreased with an improvement of 10
times every two–year, making the S–curve steeper inclined.[1] In 2005, E Ink had moved from the introduction and start–up stage into the growth stage
by accomplishing several major breakthroughs with their technology. E Ink spent a lower rate of their resources on

The Music And Arts Festival
Go with the flow I have been to multiple concerts before but nothing compares to the Resonance Music and Arts Festival, a weekend long camp out of
like–minded, motived, music loving individuals. In simpler terms, modern day hippies. These hippies focus more on medication, dancing, and yoga as
a way to reach the ultimate state of joy. The people around me, the clothing they wore, the smell of weed that filled the air, and the music that blared
through the speakers were all things I will never forget about that summer weekend. The life style of hundreds of individuals in a crowd was different
from anything I had ever laid my eyes on. Although I never imagined to be in a new environment, I had no choice. I My dad works for Budweiser, the

Suddenly I could not take my eyes off what was in front of me. Hammocks were hung from trees and even hung from car mirrors. There were hippies
sleeping in, and on their cars. I saw people cooking on small grills, selling food right from the trunk of their car. A simple sign that read, "Fish
tacos." I was memorized by all the booths that lined the entrances of Legend Valley. People sold paintings, jewelry, tie dyed bags, shirts, skirts, and
head bands. I made my dad stop at one booth because I saw a dress that I absolutely loved. It was priced at $30. When I paid for my purchase the
woman expressed how grateful she was that I was buying her clothing because that is how she made a living. She told me the story of how she lives
in her car, and travels to these festivals. I felt sad for a brief moment until I realized this was her calling and she was truly happy. It inspired me to
appreciate the little things that surround me.
Also there were hundreds of tents on the opposite side of our camper, each one a bright color with some article of tie dye draped over it. In front of
the tents sat chairs, empty. I asked my dad, "Where is everyone?" He just chuckled and said, "You'll see them when we attend the concert."
When we made our way back to the camper, there was a car full of young modern day hippies parking next to us. My eyes wondered to each

The Pros And Cons Of HP 61 Ink
The trends of the times in which we live has given us options that determine the moves we make. With the growing debate of the pros and cons
between using the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) HP 61 Ink and the re–manufactured cartridges; it is ideal to clear the air. Every savvy user
knows that beyond the glossy offerings made about each product, there is need to match it with a reality check. The need to make well informed
decisions cannot be overemphasized. The 21st century has brought about a battle of wits which puts value and price before us. It is interesting to
note that when we sacrifice value solely for price; we end up paying more price at the long run! In the course of looking at some of the issues at hand,

This seems a good offer but when all the right metrics are placed on the table, the true picture emerges. On the average, the cost per page for using a
refill is placed at 11 cents while the OEM stands at 27 cents. However, the issue of volume can swing the odds quickly in favor of OEM ink. When a
sample 150 prints are done, the streaks begin to emerge on the refill prints before you reach the mark. This makes it not the great deal for which it is
presented. Also, when you look at the damage that might occur to your print head and other dents which might cost money to repair; then it remains
ideal to stick to the manufacturers

Tattoo Cultural Phenomenon
Tattoos have been around for thousands of years and tons of people today have joined in with the trend. A article published by the Huffington Post
states that "Today, 36 percent of Americans 18–25 have at least one tattoo" (page 1). Tattoos are now a cultural phenomenon due to various different
things and people that are making them a phenomenon. Tattoos weren't as common 25 years ago.The Huffington Post also said that those body
modifications were only seen on "sailors, inmates, and bike gang members"(page 1). But today, you will see tattoos on the body company presidents,

The Huffington Post claims that "Celebrities like Rihanna, David Beckham, Angelina Jolie, and Adam Levine, are several examples of mainstream
media icons that have tattoos and openly display them" (page 1). A cultural phenomenon occurs when certain individuals behave a certain way merely
because other individuals do as well. Celebrities getting tattoos is a perfect example of a cultural phenomenon because the celebrities are the
individuals that started the trend and then their fans start to get the same tattoos because it considered cool since the celebrities did it first, causing a
bandwagon effect. The people who are getting tattoos come from all walks of life. The canvases are teenagers and young adults, women, African
Americans, Latin Americans, urbanites, suburbanites, white–collar professionals, and the college–educated. As you can tell there is a diverse group of
people that are getting tattoos, it's not just one culture getting them so having tattooed bodies is something that is becoming more popular for all

How Scientists Can Most Efficiently Complete Organ...
Abstract: The purpose of this experiment is to test how scientists can most efficiently complete organ printing. In this lab, the cells will be suspended in
a substrate called sodium alginate–collagen, hydrogel, and other reactants. These materials will react to then embed the cells to their goal location.
Then, the cells will be able to be fixated into layers. These layers will then come together and form tissues, which according to biological organization
will form organs. The inkjet bioprinter allows for this to occur. Tinyink droplets form a digital design for the organ printing, and in horizontal sheets,
the organ is created tissue by tissue. This lab will test to see which percent concentration of the sodium alginate–collagen composite will prove to be
most effective when organ printing. The dependent factor that will determine the conclusion will be the percent of efficiency of cell survival rate. Four
trials will be completed in which the same organ is printed and all factors are kept constant, except for the percent concentration of the substrate.
Introduction:
In the past, the only way to replace diminished cells, tissues, and organs was from organ transplantation. An organ donor was needed, and the tissues
would be surgically removed from the donated body and placed into the recipient. Due to the current research being conducted, it is believed that tissue
engineering and organ printing can contribute to the process of improving and saving lives.

Plus, if the printhead requires any cleaning, the printer's self–diagnostic and self–cleaning process takes only three to four minutes, minimizing
downtime on the production line.
New equipment meets customer demand
Within IGE's 175,500–square–foot facility, the company has two 10–foot assembly lines to package two bowls of cheese dip into a double–pack
chipboard box. The individual bowls of cheese shipped from the Berner facility were already coded with the freshness date. Then IGE used the
Videojet 1510 printer to place identical freshness dates on the chipboard packaging. Since each bowl displays a freshness date, the chipboard
packaging must display both dates, requiring two lines of code if the dates are different on each bowl. The dates needed to be visible on the box
because they are used to track the cheese dip throughout the supply chain, and to indicate the expiration date to the consumer.
"Initially, we switched our single Videojet printer to different lines to keep up with the demand created by the two packaging assignments," Miller says.
"The printer is compact and convenient to move, so when we used one printer to accommodate both lines, changeover took only three or four minutes –
which is really important to eliminate downtime. Eventually, we decided to get a second Videojet printer so we could run both the single and double
packaging projects simultaneously."

Tattoo's Effect On Society
Thank goodness for Thomas Alva Edison's patented invention of the "Electronic Pen" in 1876. It used a high–speed reciprocating motor to move a
single needle and was intended for a document duplication system used by businesses. Edison's invention was discovered and improved by many, but
one stood out from all the redefined machines, and that was Samuel O'Reilly's invention of the first functioning electric tattoo machine of 1891. This
opened a whole new generation growth in the tattoo realm. More enhancements by Percy Waters with his improved, very close to modern day, tattoo

Lasse Hallstrom's Choolat And La La Land Summary
Dreams are only fulfilled in fantasies. In Lasse Hallstrom's Chocolat and Damien Chazelle's La La Land, both authors explore the importance of
sacrifice, drive and perseverance in achieving one's dream in spite of all the obstacles. Through the use of imagery of colour, characterisation and
setting, Hallstrom and Chazelle share insight on what it is like to have a dream in today's society, that there are many obstacles for disheartening, but
that all the hardships are worth it.
Judgement and criticism were concepts far too familiar to Hallstrom and Chazelle's characters, Vianne and Mia. Hallstrom suggests that from the
moment that Vianne entered into the French town, she was looked down upon. From the way she dressed, her personal beliefs,... Show more content on

"I've got to follow my own plan. Stay here. Get my own thing going." Vianne was always on the move, creating chocolate and happiness. To continue
pursuing her passion of creating chocolate and following the practices of her mother's people, she had to move from location to location – calling
neither home. "Mother and daughter were fated to wander from village to village, dispensing ancient cacao remedies, travelling with the wind."
With every shift in location, she had to leave behind the life she had built there, beginning with abandonment of her father who one morning,
"awoke to discover that Chitza and the little girl Vianne had gone away." At a young age, Mia chose to move to Los Angeles in hopes to fulfil her
dreams of becoming a successful actress. However, it was later evident that the project she became successful in required her to go to Paris. Whether
it be love, home or family, the authors show the different sacrifices that need to be made in order to fulfil a dream.
Colour is an important image in both Chazelle and Hallstrom's texts. Throughout La La Land, Chazelle incorporates an abundance of bright colours in
the backdrop and the clothing. However, after travelling five years into the future, the characters are dressed in darker and duller outfits. Chazelle's
use of bright colours suggests the feeling of having hope, dreams and fantasy whilst the duller colours imply maturity and the reality of life. Hallstrom
also uses imagery of colour to describe the

Kodak Options Memo
In my March 6 memo, I discussed the need for Kodak to revamp its core strategy and regain popularity. Eastman Kodak has been the leader of
photography and printing products for nearly 130 years. Over the last few years Kodak has been in distress due to its poor fundamental shift into the
digital age. Lack of strategic creativity led Kodak to misunderstand the industry in which it was operating. This lack of strategic creativity was costly
for Kodak.
This memo will explore the options I briefly discussed in the previous memo, in order to find a solution to this problem. Each option will be assessed
based on the same criteria. The options to consider are:
* Hire a new CEO– new bolder leadership * Enter into a new aggressive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These profits can be achieved through tracking consumer needs and maintaining efficiency within the value chain.
The option can revamp its line of attack to surpass current expectations. Though this option has a high level of risk, if successful, would implement a
drastic change to Kodak's strategy and overall performance for the good of company leaders, employees, and stakeholders. The new CEO will be
evaluated after one year by leaders, employees, and stakeholders.
Option 2: Enter into a new aggressive market
Kodak currently has no position within the ink market. The ink business is a $45 billion a year sector that could regenerate Kodak's position in the
printing sector. The market for ink is dominated by HP, followed by Epson, Canon, and Lexmark. Entering a complete new market may be beneficial
in its current position. According to Kodak, the greatest obstacle to printing at home is the cost of ink and supplies. Kodak can develop a cost efficient
solution that will be more appealing to consumers. With the launch of this product, Kodak must focus on several sectors of business: marketing,
pricing, distribution, and production. Onesource (2011). * Marketing– Kodak is the world's foremost imaging innovator. Its reputation in the film
printing business is dominant. Introducing a new line of cost efficient printer ink will be effective and popular. Kodak's target market will include
anyone with a household printer. Kodak's goal will focus

Ancient Chinese Ink Techniques in the 21st Century.
As the paint brush dips into the paint and watching the brush the brush form perfect lines, knowing that the art that is being created is what one is
expressing. Art and design has been influencing our lives since the dawn of the ages. Art has been created on cave walls, has been formed in
architecture, and continues to grow and expand. Art is very beautiful, but also is a matter of expression. Art can mean many things such as love,
concern, anger, desire, and politics. Two Chinese–born ink artists by the name of Zhang Daqain, and Hua Tunan have become well–known traditional
Chinese ink artists. More known for his landscape designs, Zhang Daqain has incorporated splashes and pops of color in these traditional–looking
drawings. Through the decades, other artists have learned traditional ink drawings but have also developed other artistic ways to express who they
are. For example, one artist, Hua Tunan, is a young artist who has experimented with graffiti and in his favor, was a success. Both artists are
advocates for nature being their primary subjects. From mountainous ranges to flowers, to detailed portraits of animals, these paintings bring
awareness to people about the beauty on our planet. One of Zhang's work from "Art of Asian Landscapes" contains bold colors just like in Hua

The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Renting A Coper Rentals
Virtually all offices have copier machines that employees use for their daily maneuvers. However, maximum of these businesses do not categorically
purchase their own machines. Rather, they just rent copier machines from other firms. What makes copier rentals so prevalent? Is it actually a superior
option than buying your own copier unit? The answer for maximum businesses is yes, there are lots of advantages when opting for copier rentals than
essentially purchasing a unit for their workplace.
At the outset, if you purchase your own copier machine or even toner cartridge, you will have the solitary accountability of maintenance, overhauls
and other such errands that could take a lot of your valued time and effort. If you use a copier machine on rent, you will have enormously less
apprehension about these problems. Maximum copier rental supplier or firms offer free service and maintenances to their clienteles. When your

purchasing a machine and your budget is not adequate, remember that you can always use copier rentals. They may be more economical for your
business. Since the copiers are leased out to countless different firms, it is vital to ensure that the machines are in good shape before signing any

The Hewlett–Packard Managers from each department had a meeting to discuss about whether using a universal power supply for the next generation
of network laser printer called "Rainbow" is beneficial or not. They have the authority to make the decision while strong justification should be
provided to defend their proposal.
HP is developing its new generation network printer while it has been struggling from 3 main issues – The power specification for the printer is
different in North American (110 volt) and European (220 volt). This differences brings a big challenge in HP's market forecasting and the subsequent
stockout and transshipment between regrions; HP needs to provide the specifications to its major partner ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Consequently, it reduces inventory buildup issue. Flexible to respond to customer order so that HP can increase service level.
3. How would such costs and benefits be different over the product life cycle?
Over the product life cycle, both cost and benefit are different. At the beginning life cycle (ramp–up) of product, the cost of stock out would be high
because for every order lost would not only result in lost in revenue but also future revenue. The theory is the customers tend to buy similar product
and/or brand to keep consistency. In addition, it takes over four life cycle of product before that customer returns to HP. At the maturity stage, the
extra cost, although very small, can be a real disadvantage because during this period, the market becomes very competitive and many players enter
the same field causing price to drop. Customers also become more price–sensitive. However, the benefit of better forecasting demands significantly
helps lower the level of inventory. At the ending life cycle, cost of stockouts is lower than compared to at beginning because there is less fear of losing
future sale.
4. Besides deciding on a universal power supply, what other operational improvements can you suggest to HP Boise?
One of the suggestions HP should consider is improving forecasting ability to ensure appropriate demand is met in all sector while optimizing
inventory level. In addition, HP

The Art Of Tattoos : The Simplest Of Art
The Simplest of Art
Tattoos are a beautiful form of art that were once unaccepted and looked down upon. The art behind it has grown tremendously and evolved in the
West over the past three centuries. Tattoos are perceived differently worldwide, whether they are viewed as beautiful or opposed by the masses. Body
ink has been used for numerous reasons and has come with the positive and negative societal views. Different cultures have different styles that have
meaning which ties into their culture and religions. The mainstream media has influenced the approval of modern day tattoos, which is why one may
see tattoos becoming common in society. People may have other reasons for getting a tattoo, those being personal loss, religious beliefs, or just for
enjoyment. Individuals who choose to tattoo themselves do so because it is a part of their lifestyle and the image that they want to portray to the rest
of the world.
In ancient times, tattoos would symbolize the groups they would socialize with. In the 19th and 20th centuries the connotation of tattoos had both a

The easy method would be going with a descriptive name, letting the consumer know exactly what they are getting. This is an effective strategy
when you have the first product released for the category, but seeing as there are over 10 competing brands, with the name eReader already coined,
the possibilities are limited and you do not want to seem like the new brand that is trying too hard. What you need is something simple. Something
unique. Something that can easily roll off the tongue, yet straightforward enough so people of all demographics can interpret the message. What you
need is The Niche. Introducing LibraTech's new eReader, The Niche. This familiar word will resonate with the consumers as it is a common word in

Argumentatives On Tattoos
Tattoos have become the newest trend in the 21st century, with 40 percent of millennials having a tattoo. We have seen a major jump of people with
tattoos in the past 20 years (npr.org). But even though so many people have tattoos, many of them don't know the long term effects tattoos can have on
your body. I believe there are many reasons why tattoos should be banned in America.
First of all, tattoos can negatively affect your career, especially if your tattoo is visible. There are many workplaces where body art is banned in its
dress code. Body art isn't allowed in many workplaces because some people feel uncomfortable around other people who have tattoos. Tattoos can
also determine which career paths you will take. A survey was conducted by careerbuilder.com, to find out if tattoos had an effect on someone's
career. Their studies showed that 31 percent of HR managers said that visible tattoos has a negative impact on whether on not they will hire that
person. Tattoos can also have a negative effect on the owner or boss of the company because most of them don't like tattoos. This is because many
middle age and older Americans, which is how old many business owners are, associate tattoos with bikers, convicts, and gang members
(psychcentral.com). Even if the owner isn't middle aged, many of the customers of the business are over the age of 40. In addition, tattoos are very
painful and expensive. The tattoo artists usually price the tattoo depending on how long the tattoo

Why Do Printers Inkgive All-In-One Printer?
Even in the distant future in an era where people are afforded the ability to send everything electronically, printers will still be a necessity. In fact,
people in the future will likely need a quality printer more than they ever had in the past! The HP Deskjet 1512 Inkjet All–In–One Printer is a useful,
high quality printer that suits consumers who require a printer to print out extensive documents on a continual basis. One of the biggest gripes made by
consumers about their printers is simply that many printer types aren't adequately reliable. How can a consumer rely on a printer that appears to run
out of ink at the least convenient time. Further, many people experience printer complications at the worst possible time, too! This

Medical Tattoos Research Paper
Some medical tattoos were used as ancient medicine. The tattoos found on female mummies in locations such as the pelvis could have been used for a
therapeutic or medicinal purpose. Examining of the scars leaves no doubt that they were not just ornaments. "They were an established treatment for a
condition of the pelvis, possibly being chronic pelvic peritonitis" (Tattoos). The process of tattooing involves the placement of pigment into the skin's
dermis. After the beginning injection, pigment is dispersed throughout a homogenized damaged layer down through the epidermis and upper dermis
(Tattoos). In which both activate the immune system's phagocytes to envelop pigment particles. As healing begins, the damaged epidermis will begin

Modern tattoo artists follow health precautions to prevent these health risks from happening. Some jurisdictions require tattooists to have blood–borne
pathogen training such as that provided by the Red Cross and OSHA. In amateur tattooing, such as practiced in prisons have higher risks of
infection. Infections that can be transmitted by the use of unsterilized tattoo equipment or contaminated ink which include surface infections of the
skin, fungal infections, some forms of hepatitis, herpes simplex virus, HIV, staph, tetanus, tuberculosis (Tattoos). "Tattoo inks have been described
as "remarkably nonreactive histologically" (Tattoos). Some cases of allergic reactions to tattoo inks have been medically documented, particularly
to certain ink colors. Sometimes the presences of nickel in an ink pigment can trigger a common metal allergy. A blood vessel can be hit sometimes
in the process of tattooing and a bruise or hematoma may appear (Tattoos). Certain ink colors such as red, purple, pink, and orange, tend to cause
more problems and damage compared to other colors of ink. Red ink has caused severe flesh damage that even the amputation of a limb has been
necessary. "If parts of a tattoo (especially if it's red) begin to cause even minor troubles, like becoming itchy or worse, lumpy, then Danish experts
strongly suggest to remove the red parts"

New Product Launch Marketing Plan, Part II
The following is the second part to the iNKtopia product launch plan. The second part of the marketing plan consists of a detailed target market
profile, including buying behaviors, decision motivators, and organizational target markets. The plan also includes steps to manage each stage of the
product life cycle and tactical plans for the Four P's. Finally, the second part of the marketing plan expands on the product offering expressed in part one
and a new position statement to drive iNKtopia's positioning strategy.

During this Phase iNKtopia will increase advertising on television, print ads, and provide discounts and incentives to customers that want the ink
delivered. The increase of advertising will continue to help the company grow, expand, and build a larger consumer base.
Maturity Phase
The maturity Phase will create "a slowdown in sales growth because the product has achieved acceptance by most potential buyers" (Kotler &
Keller, 2012, p. 310). As iNKtopia's profits become stable or deteriorate because of an increase in competition the company must look to diversify. If
the company is successful up to this point the product will unavoidably lead to more competition. Competitors will eventually start introducing similar
products, or larger ink companies may simply lower the price of their ink. Therefore iNKtopia will need to diversify or develop new products,
services, or lower costs to distinguish iNKtopia's products from the competitors. Ideally, iNKtopia can enhance customer services and its image to
become a leader in the ink industry. This could also be coupled with a change in the pricing strategy by slightly lowering the cost of iNKtopia
products. However, iNKtopia will strive to create superior customer service and innovation of the ink business to hopefully create additional sales and
attract even more customers. Another promotional idea would be to focus on the environmental

Tattoos Of Ancient Egyptian Women Essay
One in every five Americans have a tattoo. It is no longer surprising to see people with markings on their bodies. Many believed it is a form of
self–expression. Even though some cultures or religions view tattoos as a negative thing, that does not stop people from getting them. To have a better
understanding about tattoos we must go back and trace how it all began. From the tools, they used to the ink, it is incredible how tattooing has evolved
over the years. Tattoos have been around since 3,000 B.C. The oldest discovery of a tattooed mummy was the "Iceman". The frozen body was
discovered by hikers in 1991. The tattoos discovered on the body had no specific drawing there were just straight lines and small crosses. This led to
believed that tattooing was used as a therapeutic to relieve pain. The Egyptians hold the true claim to fame regarding tattoos. It was common practice
for Egyptian women of high status to received tattoos for the same sort of therapeutic reasons. "Tattooing of ancient Egyptian women had a therapeutic
role and function as a permanent form of amulet during the very difficult time of pregnancy and birth" (Line berry 2).
Tattoos were not always used as therapeutic. In ancient China, tattoos were considered barbaric practice. Criminals were tattooed as a visible mark of

Narrative Essay About A Water Ride
Personal Narrative Draft 4:
In this story I will be talking about the amazing water ride in Universal studios, Singapore. I still remember till this day, how many times I rode that
ride. For last 7 years we have been going to a lot of amusement parks like 6 Flags, Disneyland, MGM Studio, Lego Land, Epcot Center,Etc. When me,
my mom, my dad, and my sister jumped in the car, I was as ready as can be.
I was very excited when I read the map of Universal Studio. All of a sudden I became greedy and wanted to go to the Harry Potter ride, Transformer
ride, Indiana jones ride, Star wars ride, etc. While we did all the rides, me and my Mom were doing some of the scary rides, while my dad and my
sister were doing some kid rides. My whole family continues this for hours until we came to the last ride. Splash Mountain. I wish this wasn't the last
ride. It looked so awesome and thrilling, I thought. Unfortunately I was correct. Anyways, when we reached the ride location, the waiting–time on the
gate read 3 hours!!! Me and my Dad stared at other people go down, screaming, yelling, and getting wet on the HUGE slide. Me and my Dad were

Tattoo Persuasive Essay
Tattooing is an ancient tribal tradition practiced by everyone but the Romans and Greeks. It can be a way of expressing one's self, honouring someone,
or telling a story. In Canada, thirty–eight percent of adults have at least one tattoo, that is approximately fourteen million people. Although people have
positive reasons for getting tattoo's, the health risks far outweigh them. Tattoo ink can cause allergic reactions and contribute to obtaining Hepatitis C
virus (HCV). Because of the risks of infections, tattooing of the human body should not be practiced in our modern Canadian society.
Now a days, it is rare to find someone without a tattoo on himself. One researcher notes, people who received a tattoo is nine times more likely to
obtain Hepatitis C (Franz, 307). It is shocking that with that high of statistics, people still want tattoo's done. Haley and Fischer state that the risk of
HCV infections have to do with many factors; being the size of tattoo, quality, and number on tattoo's on the body (138). Having said that, even the
smallest tattoo can cause pose many risks to one's health. All it takes is one drop of ink injected into the skin. In an article by Rachel Franz, she
claims; "Getting a tattoo could be a key infection route for hepatitis C, the most common chronic viral infection affecting almost 22% of the United
States population, according to a study by a university of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas researcher (1)." One tattoo litartue writer

Analysis Of Erika Schickel's Magic Hour
Los Angeles, the City of Angels, is filled with various cultures and people from around the world. Los Angeles is known for many things from our
food to the Griffith Observatory or the Hollywood sign. Los Angeles is often referred to as the melting pot of cultures. Often portrayed in the movies,
people come to Los Angeles to be the next movie star and live a glamorous life filled with over the top parties, but Another City challenges that idea.
"Magic Hour" shows Los Angeles a not so glamorous side of LA, but also shows the beauty of Los Angeles. In Another City: Writings From Los
Angeles edited by David L. Ulin, a collection of short stories and poems about Los Angeles, the writers write about coming to Los Angeles or
growing up in LA and how this city shapes the residents identities and how Los Angeles is seen to outsiders and residents. "Magic Hour" is about
Erika Schickel views on Los Angeles and how it shapes her and her views on the city, she explores the relationship between herself and the city.
"Magic Hour" by Erika Schickel is about Schickel's leaving her old life in New York and moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. On a page
of "Magic Hour," Schickel writes, "Lonely, broke, homesick. I could not remember who I was, who I had been, who I hoped to be" (Schickel 65.)
Living in Los Angeles makes the author question who she is and if the life she wants is worth of pursuing. Schickel's relationship with Los Angeles is
not ideal at the beginning.

Introduction
Tattoos have always been a controversial topic since people had the ability to mark their bodies. Some specific research articles shows that tattoos

  • 3. The Music And Arts Festival Go with the flow I have been to multiple concerts before but nothing compares to the Resonance Music and Arts Festival, a weekend long camp out of like–minded, motived, music loving individuals. In simpler terms, modern day hippies. These hippies focus more on medication, dancing, and yoga as a way to reach the ultimate state of joy. The people around me, the clothing they wore, the smell of weed that filled the air, and the music that blared through the speakers were all things I will never forget about that summer weekend. The life style of hundreds of individuals in a crowd was different from anything I had ever laid my eyes on. Although I never imagined to be in a new environment, I had no choice. Hammocks were hung from trees and even hung from car mirrors. There were hippies sleeping in, and on their cars. I saw people cooking on small grills, selling food right from the trunk of their car. A simple sign that read, "Fish tacos." I was memorized by all the booths that lined the entrances of Legend Valley. People sold paintings, jewelry, tie dyed bags, shirts, skirts, and head bands. I made my dad stop at one booth because I saw a dress that I absolutely loved. It was priced at $30. When I paid for my purchase the woman expressed how grateful she was that I was buying her clothing because that is how she made a living. She told me the story of how she lives in her car, and travels to these festivals. I felt sad for a brief moment until I realized this was her calling and she was truly happy. It inspired me to appreciate the little things that surround me. Also there were hundreds of tents on the opposite side of our camper, each one a bright color with some article of tie dye draped over it. In front of the tents sat chairs, empty. I asked my dad, "Where is everyone?" He just chuckled and said, "You'll see them when we attend the concert." When we made our way back to the camper, there was a car full of young modern day hippies parking next to us. My eyes wondered to each ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With the growing debate of the pros and cons between using the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) HP 61 Ink and the re–manufactured cartridges; it is ideal to clear the air. Every savvy user knows that beyond the glossy offerings made about each product, there is need to match it with a reality check. The need to make well informed decisions cannot be overemphasized. The 21st century has brought about a battle of wits which puts value and price before us. It is interesting to note that when we sacrifice value solely for price; we end up paying more price at the long run! In the course of looking at some of the issues at hand, a holistic approach... On the average, the cost per page for using a refill is placed at 11 cents while the OEM stands at 27 cents. However, the issue of volume can swing the odds quickly in favor of OEM ink. When a sample 150 prints are done, the streaks begin to emerge on the refill prints before you reach the mark. This makes it not the great deal for which it is presented. In this lab, the cells will be suspended in a substrate called sodium alginate–collagen, hydrogel, and other reactants. These materials will react to then embed the cells to their goal location. Then, the cells will be able to be fixated into layers. These layers will then come together and form tissues, which according to biological organization will form organs. The inkjet bioprinter allows for this to occur. Tinyink droplets form a digital design for the organ printing, and in horizontal sheets, the organ is created tissue by tissue. This lab will test to see which percent concentration of the sodium alginate–collagen composite will prove to be most effective when organ printing. The dependent factor that will determine the conclusion will be the percent of efficiency of cell survival rate. Four trials will be completed in which the same organ is printed and all factors are kept constant, except for the percent concentration of the substrate. Introduction: In the past, the only way to replace diminished cells, tissues, and organs was from organ transplantation. An organ donor was needed, and the tissues would be surgically removed from the donated body and placed into the recipient. Due to the current research being conducted, it is believed that tissue engineering and organ printing can contribute to the process of improving and saving lives. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The individual bowls of cheese shipped from the Berner facility were already coded with the freshness date. Then IGE used the Videojet 1510 printer to place identical freshness dates on the chipboard packaging. Since each bowl displays a freshness date, the chipboard packaging must display both dates, requiring two lines of code if the dates are different on each bowl. The dates needed to be visible on the box because they are used to track the cheese dip throughout the supply chain, and to indicate the expiration date to the consumer. "Initially, we switched our single Videojet printer to different lines to keep up with the demand created by the two packaging assignments," Miller says. "The printer is compact and convenient to move, so when we used one printer to accommodate both lines, changeover took only three or four minutes – which is really important to eliminate downtime. In Lasse Hallstrom's Chocolat and Damien Chazelle's La La Land, both authors explore the importance of sacrifice, drive and perseverance in achieving one's dream in spite of all the obstacles. Through the use of imagery of colour, characterisation and setting, Hallstrom and Chazelle share insight on what it is like to have a dream in today's society, that there are many obstacles for disheartening, but that all the hardships are worth it. To continue pursuing her passion of creating chocolate and following the practices of her mother's people, she had to move from location to location – calling neither home. "Mother and daughter were fated to wander from village to village, dispensing ancient cacao remedies, travelling with the wind." With every shift in location, she had to leave behind the life she had built there, beginning with abandonment of her father who one morning, "awoke to discover that Chitza and the little girl Vianne had gone away." At a young age, Mia chose to move to Los Angeles in hopes to fulfil her dreams of becoming a successful actress. However, it was later evident that the project she became successful in required her to go to Paris. Whether it be love, home or family, the authors show the different sacrifices that need to be made in order to fulfil a dream. Colour is an important image in both Chazelle and Hallstrom's texts. Throughout La La Land, Chazelle incorporates an abundance of bright colours in the backdrop and the clothing. However, after travelling five years into the future, the characters are dressed in darker and duller outfits. Chazelle's use of bright colours suggests the feeling of having hope, dreams and fantasy whilst the duller colours imply maturity and the reality of life. How would such costs and benefits be different over the product life cycle? Over the product life cycle, both cost and benefit are different. At the beginning life cycle (ramp–up) of product, the cost of stock out would be high because for every order lost would not only result in lost in revenue but also future revenue. The theory is the customers tend to buy similar product and/or brand to keep consistency. In addition, it takes over four life cycle of product before that customer returns to HP. The second part of the marketing plan consists of a detailed target market profile, including buying behaviors, decision motivators, and organizational target markets. The plan also includes steps to manage each stage of the product life cycle and tactical plans for the Four P's. Finally, the second part of the marketing plan expands on the product offering expressed in part one and a new position statement to drive iNKtopia's positioning strategy. During this Phase iNKtopia will increase advertising on television, print ads, and provide discounts and incentives to customers that want the ink delivered. The increase of advertising will continue to help the company grow, expand, and build a larger consumer base. Maturity Phase The maturity Phase will create "a slowdown in sales growth because the product has achieved acceptance by most potential buyers" (Kotler & Keller, 2012, p. 310). As iNKtopia's profits become stable or deteriorate because of an increase in competition the company must look to diversify. If the company is successful up to this point the product will unavoidably lead to more competition. Competitors will eventually start introducing similar products, or larger ink companies may simply lower the price of their ink. Therefore iNKtopia will need to diversify or develop new products, services, or lower costs to distinguish iNKtopia's products from the competitors. Ideally, iNKtopia can enhance customer services and its image to become a leader in the ink industry. This could also be coupled with a change in the pricing strategy by slightly lowering the cost of iNKtopia products. However, iNKtopia will strive to create superior customer service and innovation of the ink business to hopefully create additional sales and attract even more customers. Another promotional idea would be to focus on the environmental ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It can be a way of expressing one's self, honouring someone, or telling a story. In Canada, thirty–eight percent of adults have at least one tattoo, that is approximately fourteen million people. Although people have positive reasons for getting tattoo's, the health risks far outweigh them. Tattoo ink can cause allergic reactions and contribute to obtaining Hepatitis C virus (HCV). Because of the risks of infections, tattooing of the human body should not be practiced in our modern Canadian society. Now a days, it is rare to find someone without a tattoo on himself. One researcher notes, people who received a tattoo is nine times more likely to obtain Hepatitis C (Franz, 307). It is shocking that with that high of statistics, people still want tattoo's done. Haley and Fischer state that the risk of HCV infections have to do with many factors; being the size of tattoo, quality, and number on tattoo's on the body (138).
