- 2. Theory of Multiple Intelligence This theory, "we are all able to know the world through language, logical-mathematical analysis, spatial representation, musical thinking, the use of the body to solve problems or to make things, an understanding of other individuals, and an understanding of ourselves. Where individuals differ is in the strength of these intelligences - the so-called profile of intelligences -and in the ways in which such intelligences are invoked and combined to carry out different tasks, solve diverse problems, and progress in various domains." (Smith M. 2008)
- 3. Intelligence is a concept that refers to individual differences in the ability to acquire knowledge to reason effectively and to deal adequately with the environment. (Arenas A., 2006)
- 4. Engel defines intelligence as the ability of an organism to adapt to its environment. It consist of mental abilities valuable in almost type of learning or thinking. (Berba M. & Kahayon A. , 2004) Terman say intelligence is a general capacity of an individual to adjust his thinking to new requirements; it is a general mental adaptation to new problems. It is the ability to learn in terms of abstract ideas. (Berba M. & Kahayon A. , 2004) Thurston says intelligence is both general ability and a number of specific abilities. Stagner refers to intelligence as learning ability, and the ability and a number of specific abilities. (Berba M. & Kahayon A. , 2004) Gates refers to intelligence as a composite or organization of abilities to learn, to grasp broad and subtle facts, especially abstract facts, with alertness and accuracy, to exercise mental control,and to display flexibility and ingenuity in seeking the solution of problems. (Berba M. & Kahayon A. , 2004) Colvin says that an individual possesses intelligence in so far as he learned or can learn to adjust himself to his environment. (Berba M. & Kahayon A. , 2004) Gardner defines intelligence as "the capacity to solve problems or to fashion products that are valued in one or more cultural setting" (Berba M. & Kahayon A. , 2004) (Berba M. & Kahayon A. , 2004)
- 6. Linguistic intelligence involves sensitivity to spoken and written language, the ability to learn languages, and the capacity to use language to accomplish certain goals. (Smith M., 2008)
- 8. Logical-mathematical intelligence consists of the capacity to analyze problems logically, carry out mathematical operations, and investigate issues scientifically. (Smith M., 2008)
- 10. Spatial intelligence involves the potential to recognize and use the patterns of wide space and more confined areas. (Smith M., 2008)
- 12. Musical intelligence involves skill in the performance, composition, and appreciation of musical patterns. (Smith M., 2008)
- 14. Intrapersonal intelligence entails the capacity to understand oneself, to appreciate one’s feelings, fears and motivations. (Smith M., 2008)
- 16. Bodily-kinesthetic intelligence entails the potential of using one’s whole body or parts of the body to solve problems. (Smith M., 2008)
- 18. Interpersonal intelligence is concerned with the capacity to understand the intentions, motivations and desires of other people. (Smith M., 2008)
- 20. Naturalist intelligence enables human beings to recognize, categorize and draw upon certain features of the environment. (Smith M., 2008)
