  • 3.  Re-familiarise yourself with your Pass 3 goals.  Write a REVIEW of your progress towards meeting these goals  Have you met them?  Why/why not?  What evidence do you have to support that you have met them?  Have you got a new target date if you haven’t met them?  Have your priorities changed? Pass 4
  • 4. Merit 2  Assess how the action plan has helped support your own development over the duration of the programme Skills and Knowledge What is a skill? “Special ability or expertise” (Collins 2003) What is knowledge? “Facts or experiences known by a person” (Collins 2003)

Think about the skills and knowledge you had before you started college (that are linked to health and care) such as GCSEs, communication skills, personal attributes such as being caring or confident. 2. Think about the skills and knowledge you have acquired as a result of the COURSE so far. 3. Think about the skills and knowledge you have acquired as a result of your PLACEMENT(S) so far. 4. Consider if there have been any barriers to overcome or anything you would do differently next time 5. Is there still anything you need to develop?

Distinction 2 Evaluate your own development over the duration of the programme Evaluate means…. ‘Find or judge the value of’ To complete this last assignment you will need to make judgements about how well (or not!) you have developed over the last 2 years on the course both professionally and personally
  • 7. Distinction 2 continued… You need to consider your personal development What personality traits did you already have? How have you developed? What has stopped you developing? (eg. Shy, personal life, responsibilities etc) You need to consider your professional development What units have you done and how have they developed you? How has your placement developed you? How has being in the college environment developed you? What has stopped you developing? What do you need to do to meet your future goals?
