Kobe Bryant Greatest Player
Topic: Is Kobe the greatest basketball player in 21st century?
(word counts: 981)
Few months before, Kobe Bryant who is probably the most controversial player ended his 20–year
basketball career. Experts made their comments about him which led to a dispute about whether he
is the greatest player in 21st century. As a limitation, the players in 21st century means the players
who spent most of his career in 21st century, which put Michael Jordan out of consideration. Hence,
the range of the choices could be probably narrowed to three players: Tim Duncan, Lebron James
and Kobe Bryant. Moreover, according to Dan Harriman, a professional writer mentioned, a great
player is the one has his contribution on and off the court, which is also the reason Michael Jordon is
generally considered as the greatest player ever (in 20th century? Better to mention). Namely, the
greatest player is determined by both the achievements inside the court and the impact outside the
court as a public character. As a result, it can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the core player in their team, they are always responsible to take the last chance to score that will
determine the results of games, which is called Game–Winning shot. According to a statistic by
ESPN, Kobe has made 36 Game–Winning shots in his career while both Lebron and Tim have made
23 Game–Winning shots (Abbott, 2011). It is not difficult to conclude that Kobe has the dominance
to determine the result of games, especially during the last few minutes. Therefore, Michael Jordan,
who has been called "the god of basketball", claimed that he loved watching Kobe's game and Kobe
is the only one deserved to be compared with himself (Freeman, 2012). It definitely shows that
Kobe is the greatest in 21st century because of the praise from "the god of

Cleveland Cavaliers Contract Analysis
According to ESPN, LeBron James has agreed to sign a two–year contract with the Cleveland
Cavaliers. The deal is said to be worth $46.9 million dollars, and the second year of the contract is
allegedly a player option. This marks the first time in nine years James has re–signed with a team,
the other times James opted to be a free agent. In 2010, he left the Cavaliers to play for the Miami
Heat– where he won two NBA championships in 2012 and 2013. James rejoined the Cavaliers in
2014, and he made it to NBA Finals. Unfortunately, James and the Cavaliers lost the championship
to the Golden State Warriors. Forward Kevin Love has also re–signed with the Cavaliers; his deal is
worth $113 million for five years. Love signed with the team last year,

Deadpool Movie Conflict
Deadpool tells the origin story of Marvel's most unconventional anti–hero, Deadpool, who is famous
for breaking the fourth wall. Wade Wilson, a former special force operatives, turned mercenary, is
diagnosed with terminal cancer. A mysterious man tells Wade he can be cured. Wade ends up being
subjected to a rogue experiment, leaving him with accelerated healing, he then adopts the alter ego
Deadpool. Wilson then goes after the evil scientist who did this to him. It is a captivating tale, with
such wonderful plot structure, plenty of conflict and such well developed characters. This is a must
see for anyone mature enough to watch it.
There is a large amount of conflict in this movie, most of it is man vs man. Some examples of man

There are flat, static characters such as Angel Dust who is seen as hot–tempered, and has
superhuman strength. Francis is simply evil, and feels nothing physically or emotionally. Colossus is
seen as wise and kind, he just wants what's best for Wade. Although Weasel is a static character, he
doesn't change at all or learn anything, he is also round. Weasel is seen as brave and selfless when he
lies to Francis about knowing Wade's whereabouts, but also seen as selfish and cowardly when
Wade is going off to fight Francis Weasel says "I'd come with you, but I don't wanna." There are
also round and dynamic characters such as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, she is originally seen as
basically a grouchy teen, she doesn't seem like she wants to be there, everything with her is either a
long sullen silence or a mean comment, but in the end she ends up helping Wade save Vanessa and
saving Colossus' life. In the beginning Vanessa seems tough and emotionally isolated, she was a
prostitute with childhood issues, but when Wade is diagnosed with Cancer we see her as caring and
intelligent. When Wade and Vanessa meet up after he kills Francis, she is seen as delicate and
sensitive, she was extremely upset that Wade had left her, despite her seeming to not care about
anyone in the beginning, hence she is quite round and dynamic.Wade is the most round and dynamic
character in the film, in the movie we first see him as a mercenary for hire, doing small jobs such as
scaring away stalkers, so he is seen as serious. He is also quite arrogant at the time. He is also selfish
and materialistic, doing these jobs only for money, he is called a hero by someone who hired him
and he says "that is something I am not." The workshop left him horribly disfigured and virtually
unkillable meaning physical change. The workshop also changed him mentally, including psychosis
and mental instability. The workshop left him traumatized, insecure, with

A Woman 's Right Of Abortion
A Woman's Right to Abortion
Roe v. Wade, 1973 On January 22, 1973, the supreme court justices came to a decision about
abortion. I am going to start off by giving some general information about the laws passed and other
events that have led the abortion laws to where they are now. In 1821, Connecticut passed the first
law that restricted abortion in the United States. It prohibited the use of toxins to cause a
miscarriage. Back then, women usually didn 't know they were pregnant until the baby started
kicking inside them or a little bit before. This law made it illegal for women to "make" themselves
miscarry by taking those toxins. In 1873, Anthony Comstock lobbied to pass the Comstock Law
which was a law banning, distributing or the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the 1960 's, Pat Maginnis founded the Society for Humane Abortion. She was one of the first
people to try to legalize abortion. "They thought she was insane," Reagan said. A lady named Sherri
Finkbine was a mother of four who lived in Arizona. In 1962, she was denied a request by the
hospital for a legal abortion so she traveled to Sweden to get one. She had taken the drug
thalidomide, which researchers linked to various birth defects. The hospital withdrew its offer to
Finkbine after she told her story to the local newspaper for the purpose of alerting women and soon
to be mothers of the dangers of he drug. The publicity she got from the newspaper article threw her
into the middle of the world wide debate. In 1969, a few young women in Chicago started an
underground system nicknamed "Jane." This system helped women find safe and affordable but still
illegal abortions. These ladies learned to perform them by themselves. According to a documentary
about the group, they completed nearly 12,000 abortions in about 4 years. By the 1970 's, 20 states
had passed abortion reform or repeal laws. Alaska, New York, Hawaii, and Washington had
legalized abortion. The Supreme Court legalized birth control pills in 1972. This made it legal for all
women to have access to birth control pills, no matter what their marital status was. Before this, only
married women were allowed to be on birth control pills. They realized that having single woman

The Evolution Of Abortion Laws And Regulations

The Evolution of Abortion Laws and Regulations
The examination of the development of social structures from the early twentieth century to the
present date reveals a significant change in the laws and regulations associated with the pro–choice
and pro–life debate. In the social hierarchy of humanity, the tasks, such as who is the main bread
winner versus who is the primary household caregiver, undertaken as belonging to the 'male' or
'female' have remained constant, and therefore made the pro–life argument one that has been quite
difficult to overcome. However, the established definition of the terms "male" and "female"
regarding obligations, duties, and expectations have been altered in recent years, which has allowed
for new insights and new attitudes towards what were once considered inviolate, unchanging norms
in consideration to how society used to view abortion laws and regulations. Half of the battle when
it comes to abortion laws and regulations comes from women's rights, and society's ideal view of
them. This is why the changes that took place in the beginning of the 20th century were so crucial.
Early advocates of women's rights, such as Mary Wollstonecraft, emphasized the education of
women to make them "better wives and mothers" (Wood 369). The political struggle to enfranchise
women began in the United States with the Seneca Falls Convention, which was the first women's
rights convention in 1848. This

The Importance Of Hard Work In The Game Of Basketball
Kobe Bryant called up his trainer at 4:15 a.m. asking him to come to the gym. They worked out for
75 minutes and had 11 a.m. scrimmage that day (Manfred 2013). Kobe has the best work ethic in the
game of basketball. The first time I watched Kobe was 2008 and since then I started playing the
game of basketball. I loved and lived for the competitiveness and the feeling of winning a game and
it wanted me to work harder to get better every day. Kobe Bryant and the game of basketball had
leaded me to the belief that hard work will always lead to success regardless of any circumstances.
Kobe was the hardest worker in the NBA, and now he is the greatest of all time. I believe that
people who work hard and are determined the whole way will always be successful in life no matter
what the circumstances are.
Did you know Michael Jordan didn't make the high school team when he was a sophomore? Now he
is known as one of the greatest players in the game. After MJ got cut from the team, he just started
working because he knew he could improve in some way. People who work hard will be able to
make them better at any area they want to improve on. I remember when one of my favorite coaches
told me, "you will never be good, you will just be better"– Julio Agosto. What he told me really
made me follow more into my belief of working hard because it had me thinking about people who
pretty much already made it. For example, LeBron James is the greatest NBA player in the league.
But, LeBron still

How Sport Is An Equal Opportunity For All Teams
In professional sports, where competition is at the highest possible level, one of the most important
things that a sport must have to succeed, is an equal opportunity for all teams to win. This is called
parity, and every sport tries to create this to have their sport stay competitive and entertaining.
Without parity, a small group of teams will dominate their sport, and in the NBA, where first place
receives the only prize, the sport will become less competitive and lose its fan base, which
represents the revenue the league gains. One big factor in giving all teams a chance to win, is
through the market of the league and the system in which contracts are structured for players. All
sports have different team salaries, systems for how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This has been a problem for smaller cities for years, which usually means that their best strategy to
get their star, is to hope they can get him in the draft. Another thing that needs to be addressed with
the contracts and player's values as a whole, is that the difference between a star in the league and an
average starter is greater in the NBA than other sports like football, baseball, or soccer. With the
nature of how basketball is played versus other sports, a superstar like LeBron can potentially lead
any team to the playoffs if he is on it, where that can't happen in just about any other sport. This is
proven with some of basketball's advanced stats like VORP(Value over Replacement Player), which
says that a good player in the league like Damian Lillard(3.8 VORP) or John Wall(3.7 VORP), still
pale in comparison to someone like LeBron with his massive (7.6 VORP)(Basketball–Reference).
This means that a team with John Wall would win 10 less games than one lead by Lebron James.
This shows that the best NBA stars have a much larger worth than the average or good players and
in a world without a max contract, would be paid even higher, seeing the commodity they are to the
league. There are other factors that make the NBA's problems with the max contract unique like, the
salary cap for each team and luxury taxes. Things like the NFL hard cap on their team's salaries or
the MLB's luxury taxes incentivize smart spending and

Sexual Assault / Incest : A Middle Aged Woman Leaves Work
Half past midnight, a middle–aged woman leaves work on a cold, bitter night, promenading across
the street with the broken lamp post, stumbling in the dark to find the correct path home. Startled by
the unknown hand harshly grasping to cover the only passages allowing oxygen to enter her body,
she wakes in utter confusion, with no recollection of the previous night. Awaking to a realization–
her body no longer belongs to one individual; it will now nurse a fetus she had no conscious
intention of obtaining. A woman is entitled to her body, with full consent, whether she has been
taken advantage of through sexual assault/incest or is simply not prepared to raise a child. Situations
regarding abortion find their way into the corner for a reason, and it is a woman's right to have
control over what takes place within the frame of the minuscule round of her stomach; the control is
not given to a morally religious–based stranger with the belief that an unborn life has greater
importance than the woman herself. The opposing viewpoint from pro–life perspectives claim the
moral faults in discontinuing a pregnancy, but fail to provide solid reasoning that is not infested with
religiously biased opinions. Allowing abortion to empower women consists of providing rights
which allow their lives to reach success, rather than enforcing restrictive laws which lock them into
the chains of an unwanted pregnancy. Decided by the Supreme Court in 1973, the court case, Roe v.
Wade, made a woman's

The Theory Of Liberal Eugenics
Nicholas Agar, in Liberal Eugenics promotes a more neutral position of moral obligation to
tolerance in respecting the differences people have regarding what constitutes a valuable trait and
their perceptions of a good life, thus seemingly avoiding the authoritarian eugenics of the past. In
this new conception of eugenics governments cannot tell parents what children should be like and
parents will respect their child's autonomy as not to favor one specific identity or lifestyle over
another. In this doctrine parents have the freedom to select particular hereditary traits and it is
morally permissible for them to eradicate traits deemed undesirable, as long as the child's autonomy
is not in any way compromised. Scholars such as Agar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I do recognize that it is often the case that laws and policymaking take time to catch up with such
technology, but nonetheless find themselves doing just that, playing catch up. I then concede that if
the courts had the provisions in place to combat such dangerous effects of the uses of neo–eugenics
it could be appropriate for generations alike to decide for themselves what diseases, disorders and
traits would need to be addressed with genetic modification and liberal eugenics to create a more
perfect society. This would only be appropriate if those in the intergenerational justice community
and specifically those playing the game of tug–a–war with the idea of liberal eugenics could agree to
address civil rights and identity politics in order to procure protections for minorities and suspect
classes alike. Until then, it would be a rather reckless assumption that using genetic engineering and
neo–eugenics to create more well off human beings would be beneficial for society as a whole, as
some scholars have suggested.
Many academics such as Janna Thompson have proceeded with caution to make the case that such
technology could create a more just society. That "by eliminating from the next generations people
with disabilities that predispose them to act unjustly: psychopaths, for example" we lessen the
burden for future generations. This cautiously optimistic idea is almost

Michael Jordan is considered to be the most iconic person in sports history. Since 2002, Lebron
James has been compared not only to be the next Michael Jordan but also having the potential of
being a better basketball player than him. Some basketball fans might agree and some might
disagree, but at the end of the day everyone will have their own opinion of who is better than whom.

James is so far 25th in steals, averaging 2.3 steals a game. Lebron is a beast when it comes to
blocking shots, but has only 262 career blocks, while Jordan had a 100 block just within a season.
People can go back and forth with the stats, Lebron is better than Michael in certain areas but at the
end, Jordan will overall have a better record than Lebron. Jordan and James have accomplished
many things as an individual and they both took their teams to the next level. They both won the
NBA rookie of the year and the NBA all–rookie first team. Lebron is a two time all NBA second
team, while Michael only accomplished 1. Michael is a five time NBA most valuable player to
Lebron's two. Michael also was a 14 time time NBA all–star to Lebron's seven. Lebron was only a
NBA scoring champion once, Michael is a ten time NBA scoring champion and three time NBA
scoring champion. Since Lebron didn't go to college he never experience college basketball and to
mature his game for the pros like Michael Jordan did, and Michael got many awards while playing
for North Carolina. He was awarded twice the consensus NCAA all American first team and led
North Carolina to two championships. Michael is also included in a nine time all defensive first
team, but Lebron was included only three times. Michael even won two gold medals from the
Olympic Games.

The Rights Of The United States Constitution
The United States Constitution was designed to enfranchise the white men who, in 1787, were the
only citizens included in John Locke's conception of the social contract (outlined in his Second
Treatise of Government). At this time in history, women were not invited to be free and equal, in
relation to their husbands and fathers or as citizens in the founding fathers' new republic. Therefore,
the Constitution never addresses abortion, contraception, or marriage. Arguments made in laws and
court cases on these topics, specifically reproductive rights, have therefore traditionally rested on a
right to privacy the court has interpreted as being found in the first, fourth, fifth, and fourteenth
amendments to the Constitution, rather than a right to freedom from sex–based discrimination found
in the nineteenth amendment. The landmark supreme court cases Griswold v. Connecticut and Roe
v. Wade were both won on these grounds, both setting a precedent for the expansion of the right to
privacy. This protection has also been affected by the 2003 Partial–Birth Abortion Ban and the Hyde
Amendment.
First off, in 1965 the supreme court ruled 7–2 in the Griswold v. Connecticut case that the state of
Connecticut's ban on contraception was unconstitutional, because it denied a married couple's right
to privacy (a right extended to unmarried individuals under the Griswold precedent in the 1972
Eisenstadt v. Baird supreme court case). This expansion of privacy in Griswold later informed Roe
v.

3 Pick I Loved Analysis
The Hot List– Three Picks I Loved & Three Picks I Hated Picks I Loved 1. Mario Hezonja to the
Magic (5th Overall) I absolutely love this pick by Orlando. Every video I've watched and every
scouting report I've read, has completely sold me on Hezonja as a legit NBA pro. He has an NBA
like domineer. He's good and he knows it. He has Kobe like confidence, in that he isn't afraid to
miss a big shot. When he gets hot, Hezonja is a lights out shooter. He attacks the rim relentlessly and
isn't afraid of contact. He'll go right at an opposing defender without fear of being thrown to the
ground. The Magic needed a wing player who could score and defend. They got that with Hezonja.

he flat out dropped it. 2. Frank Kaminsky to the Hornets (9th Overall) Four first round picks and two
second round picks– The Hornets think Frank Kaminsky is worth more than that. I was shocked
when I heard this. How can a team pass up four first round picks for Frank Kaminsky? Not only did
they pass up the picks, but also if they had taken the trade, they would have moved down to pick 16
and Kaminsky likely still would have been on the draft board. I am still baffled by the Hornets
decision to reject that trade. Not only do I think the organization made a bad move by rejecting the
trade, but also I think, Kaminsky will be a role player at best in the NBA. He'll stick around for a
while because he's a seven footer who can hit a mid range shot. He is a below average post player
and he's a liability on defense. He shies away from contact and according to some scouts is "Hard to
get along with". Charlotte needed a big man, but Kaminsky might have been available at 16, but if
he weren't, there would have been similar if not better options to

Negative Effects Of Hip Hop
While many rappers were able to make money on the new movement the majority of that money did
not go into fixing up and nourishing the black community. This is evident in the music videos and
song lyrics that brag about spending money on luxurious items, drugs, alcohol, and women instead
of things that actually bolster the community. Yes, it is both unrealistic and unfair to put hip–hop on
a pedestal and assume that it would completely reform the economy of a community, but its
influence was –and still is– deeply rooted and powerful enough to have the ability to bring positive
changes to the black community in the United States. Hip–hop has brought negative changes to the
community so it is definitely not far–fetched to think that it has the ability to bring positive changes.
Hip Hop was a distraction from the real problems and focused in its early years on "partying,"
"having fun," and acquiring material objects (). Hip Hop was essential a black redefining of the
American dream which is argued by Professor Damon Sajnani to be "the denial of socioeconomic
stratification in the United States," (). Hip Hop took from the prevalent idea of the American Dream
that "happiness [came] with success, and success is measured in material acquisitions" (DAMON).
This idea is riddled with delusions as many black people ended up spending lots of money on
material objects such as expensive shoes but still lived the reality of poverty. This can be observed
today in many black neighborhoods

Argumentative Essay About Kobe Bryant
As it stands today, Kobe Bryant is the best basketball player to have ever played the game. Some
argue that Michael Jordan was better, but he was not. Some argue that Lebron James is better, but he
is not. To compare him to the men who played the center position is a waste of time. Obviously
Shaquille O'Neal, Wilt Chamberlain, and Kareem Abdul Jabbar were more dominant. They were
freaks of nature. What Kobe had that set him apart from everyone else was a skill set and mentality
that is unmatched. Kobe is the best player first and foremost because he was a Los Angeles Laker
for twenty years. Some may say that my bias towards Kobe as a Laker fan discredits my argument,
but it does not. First, a list of his accomplishments. Kobe was drafted out of highschool at the age of
seventeen, broke into the league by winning the Slam Dunk contest in his rookie season, and by age
of twenty–five he was a three time world champion. He was the youngest person to be named a
NBAAll–Star at the age of nineteen. The combination of his talents with the talents of Shaquille
O'Neal was the greatest "one–two punch" of all time. That is an objective fact. Shaq himself has
even admitted that had the duo stayed together after the 2004 season, they most certainly would
have gone on to win additional world championships, but Kobe didn't need Shaq. When it was all
said and done, Kobe ended up with five rings to his name to O'Neals four – all five with the Lakers I
might add. I won't lie, Kobe's days in

Abortion Should Not Be Illegal Essay
Abortion is widely debated across the world and in 1973 Roe v. Wade would start an issue with
ethical and legal issues. There are multiple cases arguing why it should or shouldn't be lawful to go
through with this procedure. Women should have the right to get an abortion as It is her rights to
decide if they aren't able to be able have a child, the woman shouldn't have to rely on anyone else,
she should be able to make this decision as they have to carry it for 9 months and endure the
physical pain. Abortion should not be illegal because it is justifiable in cases of rape, or when the
woman has mental health or financial issues. In the case of rape, it is unjustifiable to say that a
woman has to carry a baby when she is forced into intercourse with a man who the woman does not
please. For those who say that abortion is so inhumane, why doesn't one simply look at the act of
rape as disgusting as someone would look at abortion. The victim is going through enough being
forced without choice to have a child if she consumes, so why make her carry the baby for 9 months
knowing that the perpetrator has given her this child. I don't think that the women should have to be
mentally viable for this child or have to take care of a child that is forced upon her own will. Having
a child hurts very much, why put a victim of rape through more pain then she has to endure?
Abortion isn't illegal in other countries for more serious issues why should America make it illegal?

The Debate on Abortion Laws in the United States
There are always a number of heated debates within the United States. These debates area always a
hot topic and very controversial issues. Due to how controversial they are is why they become such
largely debated topics with many people having very different views on the specific topic. For
example there is a Democratic and Republican party in the United States people either stick with
one side or the other due to their beliefs and sometimes can be neutral or on the other party's side for
certain topics. Abortion is a very controversial topic as it always has been all around the country but
more specifically in the United States. There are two sides to the debate those who believe abortion
should be legal and their organization is known as prochoice. On the other side there are the group
of people who believe that abortion should not be legal and reverse the laws from what they are
today this organization is known as prolife. It seems as though both of the organizations are very
extreme while there can be some people who a neutral and believe in some ideas from the prochoice
yet they also agree with some of the ideas from prolife. The two sides to the debate on abortion are
known as pro–choice and pro–life although this topic is very controversial, today there is also a
history of abortion laws and a very important case known as Roe vs. Wade which played a huge role
in determining what laws on abortion are in the present. Additionally, the case of Roe vs. Wade was

Life, Death, and the Political Issues Surrounding Abortion
Life, Death, and the Political
issues surrounding Abortion
Few issues have embodied such controversy as abortion has. The various people involved in the
abortion debate not only have strong beliefs, but each group has a self appeal that clearly reflects
what they believe to be the essential issues. The abortion supporters see individual choice as central
to the debate: If a woman cannot choose to terminate an unwanted pregnancy, a condition which
affects her body and possibly her entire life, then she has lost one of her most basic human rights.
These issues of abortion believe that while a fetus is a potential life, its life cannot be placed on the
same level with that of a woman. On the other side, the anti–abortionist ... Show more content on

The argument over abortion has avoided the real issue facing today's woman, her need to grow
beyond stereotypes. Whenever an individual or group realizes it has been treated unjustly, the first
reaction is anger, but often the anger is firs expressed as aggression. People outgrowing oppression
have so much built up inside, so many memories of powerlessness, and so little knowledge of how
to make themselves be heard. Violence towards others usually end up as the result. American men
and women are among the most fair minded, but have slowly begun to feel that 4,000 abortions a
day is enough. The abortion mentality has encouraged women to think of themselves as victims.
Much emphasis is placed on pregnancy as a result of rape, even though the statistics show only
about .1% of all rapes actually resulting in conception. That means that a large majority of
pregnancies that resulted in abortion were the result of free choice. The assumption is that a woman
does not have control over her own body until after a male partner is finished with it. Why is that?
Where is their sense of pride? Maybe they're just looking at responsibilities as well as rights, and
choosing instead of reacting. Pro–choice supporters argue that abortion should be viewed as not be
immoral, and sometimes a necessary choice a woman must make in order to be in charge of her life.
Considering pregnancy from a woman's point of view, it can be very dangerous to

It was not very surprising that the Cavaliers were jumping at the bit and selected LeBron (Hill

Rookie" ("LeBron James" 3). Playing with the Cavaliers was not bare of exhilaration events. He
became the youngest person to score more than forty points and later broke his own record by
scoring fifty–six ("LeBron James" 5). Yet again, a period of time passes where the Cavaliers had a
multitude of decisive victories and a few defeats, and LeBron once more found himself participating
in a very prestigious event. He was in the 2008 Olympics. He and his team were able to deliver a
victory for the U.S. by winning the gold medal for basketball ("LeBron James" 4). Next was a
staggering moment for the everybody involved with the Cavaliers. Lebron decided to leave the
Cavaliers and become a free agent after the 2009–2010 season. He eventually chose to join the
Miami Heat ("LeBron James" 5). Things still weren't slowing down for LeBron, he had his first son,
LeBron James Jr., on June 4, 2004 (Hill 34). Roughly 3 years later on June 11, 2007, LeBron's

Lebron James: The Greatest NBA Player
One reason why LeBron James is the greatest NBA player ever is because he got a lot of recognition
from the media and the NBA when he played in High School. According to BallisLife, LeBron
James had his game televised by ESPN by his senior year. ESPN is a well–known sports television
channel that analyzes sports games such as basketball, football, etc. To be featured on ESPN is not
only an accomplishment, but it acts as recognition that sports teams are looking for when they
recruit players. Although only one of his games was televised, having ESPN televise it in the first
place is amazing. Another example of this is also seen in BallisLife, where LeBron James is said to
be on the cover of Sports Illustrated which is a magazine that also analyzes ... Show more content on

For example, according to CBSsports, one of LeBron's accomplishments was being selected as first
pick in the 2003 NBA draft. Being chosen as first pick goes to show that you exceeded the standards
set by High Schools and colleges, and you performed well in your young years. Many might say that
Kobe was also a first pick in the draft, what makes him so much different from LeBron? Well,
LeBron was getting more recognition because of the way he played, therefore he performed better
which is what makes him special. Another example of his accomplishments is winning rookie of the
year in 2004 because of his averaging of 7.3 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 2.2 steals a game. Rookie of
the year is exactly as it sounds. A player does well enough in their rookie year and then gets
nominated and voted for much later. Coming into the NBA and playing with people that have been
there for years, and then performing well against them is definitely something to boast about. In my
final example which is also from CBSsports, scoring 10,000 to 20,000 points and being the youngest
to do it is listed as another one of LeBron's accomplishments. Most people don't really care about
the points a player scores, but if you think about it this way, LeBron James is almost always carrying
his team and this is easily seen by the number of points he scores. He scored around 25–30 points a
game and soon he reached a point where some really good NBA players could not

Mourides have a strong commitment to integrating Islam into the fabric of civil society. Mouride

Although the strenuous physical conditions of farm work in a Daara, as well as the relationship
between the talibe and marabout has attracted significant scholarly attention, it has largely been
misconstrued. As opposed to cruel exploitation of young men blinded by religious fervor, I will
argue that the induction of otherwise disenfranchised males into the brotherhood is a good remedy
for youth dislocation and dampens the disruptive effect of urbanization – thus promoting political
stability by deterring civil unrest.
According to many civil conflict theorists, including Stathis Kalyvas, young people who are
physically dislocated from family, and without an occupation that can bring them economic stability
or social status are at risk of joining insurgency groups, since they are dissatisfied with their
exclusion from social respectability and blame it on political elites. While the young talibes of rural
marabouts are close to the bottom of Senegal's social hierarchy, their relationship with their
marabouts offers them opportunities to climb the social ladder that they would not have had
otherwise. For instance, talibes are usually given ownership of the farmland they worked on after
their servitude ends and in some cases; they are even given a wife. Such social and economic
offerings make joining the Mouride brotherhood quite appealing for young men with limited
prospects. The sect also offers its disciples a sense of fraternal belonging.

Abortion Argumentative Essay : Abortion
Maren Goodrich Ms. Jensen English April 29, 2014 Abortion Argumentative Essay On average
about 41.6 million unborn children are aborted every year. Abortion is killing an unborn baby and it
should be illegal. Abortion is wrong because it supports irresponsibility by parents. It gives the
unborn children no choice or opportunity at life. In addition, instead of abortion, parents could put
up the child for adoption, benefiting people that cannot have children of their own. Abortion
supports irresponsibility by parents because it encourages unprotected sex. If a couple unexpectedly
got pregnant, then they could choose not to face the consequences of a bad choice and just choose to
abort the child. Abortion was banned in many states until the Roe vs. Wade court case, where a
woman filed a lawsuit against the state of Texas for not allowing her to have an abortion (Roe vs.
Wade 1979). It is irresponsible to have an abortion because it will cause very strong emotional and
mental effects for the mother. "Women who are negatively affected by an abortion may experience
any of the following mental health problems: anxiety, depression, sleep disturbances, substance
use/abuse, and/or increased risk of suicide" (Coleman). Also, a woman could get an abortion without
the father or her parents knowing about it. This causes relationship problems between the mother
and her parents, and possibly the father. Abortion is killing an innocent human being. Faye

The Issue Of Public Policy
In any society, governmental entities enact laws, make policies, and allocate resources. Public policy
can be generally defined as a law systems, strict measures, courses of action, and funding issues that
about a given topic promulgated by a governmental entity or its representatives. Abortion is one
issue that has been a matter of subject in government and citizens concerning its public policy. Over
years the government has made decisions concerning the policy towards abortions in the United
States of America. Abortion plays a major role in public policy on the issue of whether or not it is a
public decision or a woman's own private decision. In certain views of citizens in the United States,
abortion is not seen as an issue that should be banned by governmental laws. They believe that it is a
private decision that should be made by a woman and her medical doctor. John M. Swomley, a
Ph.D. graduate in political science, saw that "abortion per se is not morally wrong" (Swomley). He
thought that this was a personal matter that should be decided by oneself or a medical examiner. The
alternate to private decision is compulsory pregnancy if the government makes laws prohibiting or
restricting abortions prior to the third trimester, according to John Swomley. Many cases and groups
have organized as a result of the abortion issue in public policy.
One case in particular is the Supreme Court decision in Roe vs. Wade in 1973. Roe, a single

Roe vs Wade
In 1973, the Supreme Court made a decision in one of the most controversial cases in history, the
case of Roe v. Wade (410 U.S. 113 (1973)), in which abortion was legalized and state anti–abortion
statues were struck down for being unconstitutional. This essay will provide a brief history and
analysis of the issues of this case for both the woman's rights and the states interest in the matter.
Also, this essay will address the basis for the court ruling in Roe's favor and the effects this decision
has had on subsequent cases involving a woman's right to choose abortion in the United States. The
court's decision created legal precedent for several subsequent abortion restriction cases and has led
to the development of legislation to protect women's health rights. Although the Supreme Court's
decision in Roe v. Wade was a historic victory for women's rights, it is still an extremely
controversial subject today and continues to be challenged by various groups. Roe v. Wade Case
Law Analysis Before 1973, abortion access was determined by state legislature for each individual
state with no consistency across the United States. Some states allowed abortions but most state
statues heavily restricted or completely banned abortion. The restricted states would generally only
allow abortion in the event of rape, incest, fetal anomalies, or the woman's life is at risk. The state of
Texas enforced a state statute that made it illegal for an abortion to be performed unless the woman's

The Case Roe V. Wade Essay
Since the 1960s, the fight to receive accessible and affordable abortions has been a largely
controversial issue in the United States. The case Roe v. Wade was the climax of that fight, for "the
Court held that... only a pregnant woman and her doctor have the legal right to make the decision
about an abortion" ("History of Abortion"). Although Roe v. Wade ultimately made abortions legal
in the States, there are still setbacks for affordable and accessible abortions today, and many of these
conflicts may be directly traced to state–by–state determination of abortion laws.
In today 's society, the rate of teen pregnancy is rapidly decreasing. This may be attributed to
decrease in costs of contraception, costs and availability for abortion, and better sex education over
time. "In 2014, a total of 249,078 babies were born to women aged 15–19 years, for a birth rate of
24.2 per 1,000 women in this age group. This is another historic low for U.S. teens and a drop of 9%
from 2013. Birth rates fell 11% for women aged 15–17 years and 7% for women aged 18–19 years"
("About Teen Pregnancy"). Abortion is a highly debated topic today, for many wonder if the woman
should have the right to choose. Those who choose to get an abortion are practically putting
themselves on trial in today 's society. To understand why this is so, one must look at both sides of
the abortion issue, and compare the facts. Abortion is an extremely controversial issue for many, and

Adoption Is A Better Choice
When women are faced with an unplanned or unwanted pregnancy, there are many options for them.
Most of their options are not straight forward or easy to see. Some mothers decide to keep their
child while others feel that adoption or abortion is the better choice for both themselves and the
unborn child. In the United States, nearly one in four pregnancies end in abortion. Adoption is a
better choice because it is just the beginning for a life.

In 1973, the Roe v. Wade case would change abortion laws in the United States. According to CNN,
this case was between Norma McCorrey, who wanted the abortion and Henry Wade, the district

The Unorthodox Restoration Of A Tarnished Image
I. Introduction
The Unorthodox Restoration of a Tarnished Image is an interesting topic when dealing with
professional athletes. Lebron James is currently in his 14th season in the National Basketball
Association (NBA). He spent his first seven seasons playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers, just 39
miles from his hometown, Akron. After the 2009–2010 NBA season, James decided not to resign his
contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers and instead sign a contract with the Miami Heat. This decision
led to James joining forces with other NBA superstars such as Chris Bosh, Dwayne Wade, and Ray
Allen. Later to become known as "The Decision," James' image was tarnished for the way he

The thesis will take an in–depth look on the journey of Lebron James. From the beginning days in
Akron, the fame of his early days in Cleveland, to his villain days in Miami and back up the
mountain to being a hero in Cleveland, it will all be discussed. Lebron James is not only a once in a
life–time type of athlete, but once in a life–time person and businessman as well. The tactics and
lessons one can learn from his strategies are infinite.
II. Beginning of the Brand The story of Lebron is known by many, but those who see the famous
professional athlete with a superstar status usually do not know what he came from. On December
30, 1984, in Akron, Ohio, Lebron Raymone James was born. His mother, Gloria James, was only 16
years old at the time and his father, Anthony McClelland, was an ex–convict with zero interest in
becoming a parent. With Gloria struggling from addiction and never keeping a steady job, she and
Lebron moved from apartment to apartment during his childhood. In the fourth grade, Lebron
moved in with his township football coach, Frankie Walker (JockBio, 2016). Life was not easy for
James growing up, but he was lucky enough to have others surrounding him to help him rise. He
played basketball at Saint Vincent Saint Mary's High School where he would become a legend. A

The Importance Of The NBA
The NBA is one of the most entertaining sports known to man. The NBA consists of a lot of
highlights, most of the highlights have nothing to do with actually playing basketball. The NBA
provides various organizations to help the less fortunate, they also do a lot of camps and gatherings
to make better players out of younger kids. Also, the NBA brings so many eye–catching aspects to
the game, such as special uniforms for holidays, expensive tennis shoes and amazing in games
moves only the best of the best can master. But just like everyone else the NBA isn't perfect, it's a
game of favoritism and personal agendas. The NBA is getting bigger and bigger every year it
continues.
The NBA gives back to the community regularly. Not necessarily the NBA but the players in the
NBA. Oklahoma City, Thunder's point guard Russell Westbrook has his own charity called the Why
Not? Foundation. In December on Christmas Russell and his Why Not? Foundation got together
with others to give gifts to about 10,000 or more children in foster care. Los Angeles Lakers center
Pau Gasol has gave $10,000 to UNICEF to help build safe schools in Africa. He has also pledged to
give $1,000 for every shoot he has made in a specific game, to help the Philippines after a hard–

Abortion : The Battle For Integrity
Abortion: The Battle for Integrity On January 22, 1973, one pregnant woman made a radical
argument to legalize abortion to the Dallas County Court in Texas that would dramatically shake the
future of America. This young pregnant women known as Roe defiantly claimed to the assembly
that the Texas laws for abortion were unconstitutional. The laws to establish abortion were
authorized by the state governments at that time, and specifically the Texas laws ruled abortion
illegal unless the mother's life was threatened. After this heated debate known as Roe v. Wade, the
United States Supreme Court eventually declared a woman 's constitutional right to have an abortion
(Kaplan 49). Ever since abortion was legalized in the court decision of Roe v. Wade, the justification
for this act is that a fetus is not a person until viability, that women have a clear right to privacy for
abortion laid out in the fourteenth amendment, and that if abortion was illegal, back alley abortions
would become frequent and a risk to many women; despite this, a more persuasive view on abortion
would be that a fetus is a potential life, that abortion denies a fetus the right to life and happiness
guaranteed in the fourteenth amendment and the Declaration of Independence, and that legal
abortion leads to more abortions and more use of abortion for the intent of birth control. In order of
to justify the legalization of abortion, pro choice advocates claim that fetuses don 't become a

Abortion Is An Intentional Termination Of A Pregnancy
Abortion is an intentional termination of a pregnancy during the first twenty–eight weeks. The
debate of whether or not abortion should be legalized has been a key political topic for years. Based
upon a survey done by the Pew Research Center, as of September 22, 2014 "a majority of Americans
(55%) express the opinion that abortion should be legal in all or most cases; four–in–ten say it
should be illegal in all or most cases."(Abortion, n.p.). Abortion should be legalized based upon the
mothers' medical circumstances, for the fact that abortion is not a threat against the mental health of
patients, and to the rights of privacy and bodily integrity of females must be kept. Moreover the
religious views of others should not be taken as a factor against a person's decision for abortion. The
legalization of abortion is a strongly debated topic among our political parties. The Republican
Party, unlike the Democratic Party, is against abortion even though impending mothers may require
an abortion to save their own lives. Abortions, as reported by the American College of Obstetricians
and Gynecologist, are fundamentally needed in many situations to save the lives of woman since
"...pregnancy is not a risk–free life event."(Painter, n.p.). There are multiple medical situations in
which a pregnancy must be terminated due to the mother's life being at risk such as a cyst(s) on the

Transactional Strategies At New York University
Key Points The topic of Wade Boykin speech at New York University was academic success for all
students, but more specifically students of color. He discussed the documentation and evidence that
explains the achievement gap between students of color and their white counterparts. Boykin also
believes the evidence for why the gap exists should be the guide for implementing strategies,
inventions and programs to raise achievement. The evidence and research suggest that to raise
achievement the intervention should start with transactional strategies. Transactional strategies
involve the exchanges between teachers and students, classroom collaboration, and classroom
environment. The specific focuses of the transactional strategies are student engagement, positive
self–efficacy and teacher–student relationship quality (TSRQ). Research shows that student
engagement leads to greater success for students of color in math and reading, instilling positive
self–efficacy helps build confidence, perseverance and hold students accountable for their own
learning and teacher–student relationships gives the opportunity for meaningful learning experiences

Even back in 1973, abortion was a hot topic. It is understandable that it would be a topic of concern

think all of those reasons are pretty good reasons to have an abortion. Many people fighting saying

Roe V. Wade And Its Impact On American Society

Final Project
Roe v. Wade and Its Impact on American Society Few Supreme Court decisions have stirred up as
much controversy, vitriolic debate, and even violence as the one delivered in Roe v. Wade in 1973.
Four decades later, it remains a touchstone for the culture wars in the United States and a pivot upon
which much of American politics turns. In fact, the authors of "Roe v. Wade: The Abortion Rights
Controversy in American History" state that even today, the case (and its companion cases) "remains
the most divisive and controversial judicial decision of the twentieth century" (3). Although it is a
landmark case in itself, its continuing influence on American law and politics proves that its legacy
lives on far beyond its formal resolution in a court of law. Essentially, the most important points are
that the cause of the case's complexity and drama is the legal relationship between men and women
that the ruling mirrored and compounded, the way the medical profession was impacted, and the
political significance that the issue still holds presently. One cannot understand what Roe v. Wade
meant to women or to men without understanding how abortion became illegal, and that story
begins in the nineteenth century. In 1821, Connecticut became the first state to explicitly criminalize
abortion. The primary purpose of this law was to spell out the conditions under which the state could
prosecute an abortionist for an abortion. The

The Freedom to the Choice of Abortion
We all live our lives as we please all in accordance to the law, but when it comes to abortion people
start to judge and try to regulate how others live and interfere in their personal choices. We live in a
country based on freedoms, and women have and should continue to have the freedom to the choice
of an abortion. A woman's right to choose abortion is a fundamental right recognized by the US
Supreme Court. The courts also have a category of classes called the 'near–suspect' classes, which
include gender. Gender deserves protection from possible discrimination at the hands of the
majority. Women constitute a majority of American's and have been discriminated in the past. The
Landmark case Roe v. Wade was decided and remains the law of the land. Making laws against
abortions don't stop abortions from happening; they just make it less safe, which in many cases leads
to death. Therefore idea of supporting pro–life is contradictory, this is why the nation should be pro–
choice. No child should be brought into this world where they are not wanted or are not able to live
a normal life. Most people who are against abortion will never even become pregnant, so they
should not be making laws against it. Pregnancy is a private and personal matter. Outlawing
abortion is discriminatory and unfortunately abortions are being transformed from a right to a
privilege for most women.
Abortion represents a woman's right to choose whether or not to continue a pregnancy, and this is a

The Issue Of Abortion And Women 's Rights Essay
The topic of abortion has been particularly controversial throughout the 2016 election. One of the
main focuses of Hilary's campaign was on the side of supporting abortion rights [4] and therefore
the rights of women in America. On the other hand, Trump has made some conflicting arguments. In
the past Donald Trump has been strictly pro–choice, but during his election he was anti–abortion. A
Supreme Court ruling just this past summer turned back restrictions on abortion laws in Texas [4],
devastating those who are anti–abortion and exciting those who are pro–choice for change moving
forward. [3] Now, with Donald Trump as President, people are wondering what side he will take on
this issue and where the fate of abortion and women's rights will lie in this country. However, should
Donald Trump have anything to say about Women's Rights with the way he has run his election?
Trump has been called out countless times on his objectification of women and sexist comments, so
why would he care about women's rights as president? Not all cases of abortion are morally
equivalent. Being extreme conservative or liberal, like Trump and Hilary respectively, on the issue
of abortion negates relevant factors in determining if an abortion is right or wrong. For example,
there are the circumstances of the pregnancy (rape of violence), if the pregnancy was voluntary or
involuntary, financial circumstances, family environment, health of the mother or fetus, stage of
pregnancy, religious

Kobe Bryant Greatest Player

  • 1. Kobe Bryant Greatest Player Topic: Is Kobe the greatest basketball player in 21st century? (word counts: 981) Few months before, Kobe Bryant who is probably the most controversial player ended his 20–year basketball career. Experts made their comments about him which led to a dispute about whether he is the greatest player in 21st century. As a limitation, the players in 21st century means the players who spent most of his career in 21st century, which put Michael Jordan out of consideration. Hence, the range of the choices could be probably narrowed to three players: Tim Duncan, Lebron James and Kobe Bryant. Moreover, according to Dan Harriman, a professional writer mentioned, a great player is the one has his contribution on and off the court, which is also the reason Michael Jordon is generally considered as the greatest player ever (in 20th century? Better to mention). Namely, the greatest player is determined by both the achievements inside the court and the impact outside the court as a public character. As a result, it can be ... As the core player in their team, they are always responsible to take the last chance to score that will determine the results of games, which is called Game–Winning shot. According to a statistic by ESPN, Kobe has made 36 Game–Winning shots in his career while both Lebron and Tim have made 23 Game–Winning shots (Abbott, 2011). It is not difficult to conclude that Kobe has the dominance to determine the result of games, especially during the last few minutes. Therefore, Michael Jordan, who has been called "the god of basketball", claimed that he loved watching Kobe's game and Kobe is the only one deserved to be compared with himself (Freeman, 2012). The deal is said to be worth $46.9 million dollars, and the second year of the contract is allegedly a player option. This marks the first time in nine years James has re–signed with a team, the other times James opted to be a free agent. In 2010, he left the Cavaliers to play for the Miami Heat– where he won two NBA championships in 2012 and 2013. James rejoined the Cavaliers in 2014, and he made it to NBA Finals. Colossus is seen as wise and kind, he just wants what's best for Wade. Although Weasel is a static character, he doesn't change at all or learn anything, he is also round. Weasel is seen as brave and selfless when he lies to Francis about knowing Wade's whereabouts, but also seen as selfish and cowardly when Wade is going off to fight Francis Weasel says "I'd come with you, but I don't wanna." There are also round and dynamic characters such as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, she is originally seen as basically a grouchy teen, she doesn't seem like she wants to be there, everything with her is either a long sullen silence or a mean comment, but in the end she ends up helping Wade save Vanessa and saving Colossus' life. In the beginning Vanessa seems tough and emotionally isolated, she was a prostitute with childhood issues, but when Wade is diagnosed with Cancer we see her as caring and intelligent. When Wade and Vanessa meet up after he kills Francis, she is seen as delicate and sensitive, she was extremely upset that Wade had left her, despite her seeming to not care about anyone in the beginning, hence she is quite round and dynamic.Wade is the most round and dynamic character in the film, in the movie we first see him as a mercenary for hire, doing small jobs such as scaring away stalkers, so he is seen as serious. He is also quite arrogant at the time. He is also selfish and materialistic, doing these jobs only for money, he is called a hero by someone who hired him and he says "that is something I am not." • 7. A Woman 's Right Of Abortion A Woman's Right to Abortion Roe v. Wade, 1973 On January 22, 1973, the supreme court justices came to a decision about abortion. I am going to start off by giving some general information about the laws passed and other events that have led the abortion laws to where they are now. In 1821, Connecticut passed the first law that restricted abortion in the United States. It prohibited the use of toxins to cause a miscarriage. Back then, women usually didn 't know they were pregnant until the baby started kicking inside them or a little bit before. This law made it illegal for women to "make" themselves miscarry by taking those toxins. In 1873, Anthony Comstock lobbied to pass the Comstock Law which was a law banning, distributing or the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the 1960 's, Pat Maginnis founded the Society for Humane Abortion. She was one of the first people to try to legalize abortion. "They thought she was insane," Reagan said. A lady named Sherri Finkbine was a mother of four who lived in Arizona. In 1962, she was denied a request by the hospital for a legal abortion so she traveled to Sweden to get one. She had taken the drug thalidomide, which researchers linked to various birth defects. The hospital withdrew its offer to Finkbine after she told her story to the local newspaper for the purpose of alerting women and soon to be mothers of the dangers of he drug. The publicity she got from the newspaper article threw her into the middle of the world wide debate. In 1969, a few young women in Chicago started an underground system nicknamed "Jane." This system helped women find safe and affordable but still illegal abortions. These ladies learned to perform them by themselves. According to a documentary about the group, they completed nearly 12,000 abortions in about 4 years. By the 1970 's, 20 states had passed abortion reform or repeal laws. Alaska, New York, Hawaii, and Washington had legalized abortion. The Supreme Court legalized birth control pills in 1972. This made it legal for all women to have access to birth control pills, no matter what their marital status was. Before this, only married women were allowed to be on birth control pills. • 9. The Evolution Of Abortion Laws And Regulations Sam Wonson Mrs. Otto English II Pre–AP 20 May 2013 The Evolution of Abortion Laws and Regulations The examination of the development of social structures from the early twentieth century to the present date reveals a significant change in the laws and regulations associated with the pro–choice and pro–life debate. In the social hierarchy of humanity, the tasks, such as who is the main bread winner versus who is the primary household caregiver, undertaken as belonging to the 'male' or 'female' have remained constant, and therefore made the pro–life argument one that has been quite difficult to overcome. However, the established definition of the terms "male" and "female" regarding obligations, duties, and expectations have been altered in recent years, which has allowed for new insights and new attitudes towards what were once considered inviolate, unchanging norms in consideration to how society used to view abortion laws and regulations. Half of the battle when it comes to abortion laws and regulations comes from women's rights, and society's ideal view of them. This is why the changes that took place in the beginning of the 20th century were so crucial. Early advocates of women's rights, such as Mary Wollstonecraft, emphasized the education of women to make them "better wives and mothers" (Wood 369). The political struggle to enfranchise women began in the United States with the Seneca Falls Convention, which was the first women's rights convention in 1848. This ... • 11. The Importance Of Hard Work In The Game Of Basketball Kobe Bryant called up his trainer at 4:15 a.m. asking him to come to the gym. They worked out for 75 minutes and had 11 a.m. scrimmage that day (Manfred 2013). Kobe has the best work ethic in the game of basketball. The first time I watched Kobe was 2008 and since then I started playing the game of basketball. I loved and lived for the competitiveness and the feeling of winning a game and it wanted me to work harder to get better every day. Kobe Bryant and the game of basketball had leaded me to the belief that hard work will always lead to success regardless of any circumstances. Kobe was the hardest worker in the NBA, and now he is the greatest of all time. I believe that people who work hard and are determined the whole way will always be successful in life no matter what the circumstances are. Did you know Michael Jordan didn't make the high school team when he was a sophomore? Now he is known as one of the greatest players in the game. After MJ got cut from the team, he just started working because he knew he could improve in some way. People who work hard will be able to make them better at any area they want to improve on. I remember when one of my favorite coaches told me, "you will never be good, you will just be better"– Julio Agosto. What he told me really made me follow more into my belief of working hard because it had me thinking about people who pretty much already made it. For example, LeBron James is the greatest NBA player in the league. But, LeBron still ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. How Sport Is An Equal Opportunity For All Teams In professional sports, where competition is at the highest possible level, one of the most important things that a sport must have to succeed, is an equal opportunity for all teams to win. This is called parity, and every sport tries to create this to have their sport stay competitive and entertaining. Without parity, a small group of teams will dominate their sport, and in the NBA, where first place receives the only prize, the sport will become less competitive and lose its fan base, which represents the revenue the league gains. One big factor in giving all teams a chance to win, is through the market of the league and the system in which contracts are structured for players. All sports have different team salaries, systems for how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This has been a problem for smaller cities for years, which usually means that their best strategy to get their star, is to hope they can get him in the draft. Another thing that needs to be addressed with the contracts and player's values as a whole, is that the difference between a star in the league and an average starter is greater in the NBA than other sports like football, baseball, or soccer. With the nature of how basketball is played versus other sports, a superstar like LeBron can potentially lead any team to the playoffs if he is on it, where that can't happen in just about any other sport. This is proven with some of basketball's advanced stats like VORP(Value over Replacement Player), which says that a good player in the league like Damian Lillard(3.8 VORP) or John Wall(3.7 VORP), still pale in comparison to someone like LeBron with his massive (7.6 VORP)(Basketball–Reference). This means that a team with John Wall would win 10 less games than one lead by Lebron James. This shows that the best NBA stars have a much larger worth than the average or good players and in a world without a max contract, would be paid even higher, seeing the commodity they are to the league. There are other factors that make the NBA's problems with the max contract unique like, the salary cap for each team and luxury taxes. • 15. Sexual Assault / Incest : A Middle Aged Woman Leaves Work Half past midnight, a middle–aged woman leaves work on a cold, bitter night, promenading across the street with the broken lamp post, stumbling in the dark to find the correct path home. Startled by the unknown hand harshly grasping to cover the only passages allowing oxygen to enter her body, she wakes in utter confusion, with no recollection of the previous night. Awaking to a realization– her body no longer belongs to one individual; it will now nurse a fetus she had no conscious intention of obtaining. A woman is entitled to her body, with full consent, whether she has been taken advantage of through sexual assault/incest or is simply not prepared to raise a child. Situations regarding abortion find their way into the corner for a reason, and it is a woman's right to have control over what takes place within the frame of the minuscule round of her stomach; the control is not given to a morally religious–based stranger with the belief that an unborn life has greater importance than the woman herself. The opposing viewpoint from pro–life perspectives claim the moral faults in discontinuing a pregnancy, but fail to provide solid reasoning that is not infested with religiously biased opinions. Allowing abortion to empower women consists of providing rights which allow their lives to reach success, rather than enforcing restrictive laws which lock them into the chains of an unwanted pregnancy. • 17. The Theory Of Liberal Eugenics Nicholas Agar, in Liberal Eugenics promotes a more neutral position of moral obligation to tolerance in respecting the differences people have regarding what constitutes a valuable trait and their perceptions of a good life, thus seemingly avoiding the authoritarian eugenics of the past. In this new conception of eugenics governments cannot tell parents what children should be like and parents will respect their child's autonomy as not to favor one specific identity or lifestyle over another. In this doctrine parents have the freedom to select particular hereditary traits and it is morally permissible for them to eradicate traits deemed undesirable, as long as the child's autonomy is not in any way compromised. Scholars such as Agar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I do recognize that it is often the case that laws and policymaking take time to catch up with such technology, but nonetheless find themselves doing just that, playing catch up. I then concede that if the courts had the provisions in place to combat such dangerous effects of the uses of neo–eugenics it could be appropriate for generations alike to decide for themselves what diseases, disorders and traits would need to be addressed with genetic modification and liberal eugenics to create a more perfect society. This would only be appropriate if those in the intergenerational justice community and specifically those playing the game of tug–a–war with the idea of liberal eugenics could agree to address civil rights and identity politics in order to procure protections for minorities and suspect classes alike. Until then, it would be a rather reckless assumption that using genetic engineering and neo–eugenics to create more well off human beings would be beneficial for society as a whole, as some scholars have suggested. Many academics such as Janna Thompson have proceeded with caution to make the case that such technology could create a more just society. That "by eliminating from the next generations people with disabilities that predispose them to act unjustly: psychopaths, for example" we lessen the burden for future generations. • 23. The Rights Of The United States Constitution The United States Constitution was designed to enfranchise the white men who, in 1787, were the only citizens included in John Locke's conception of the social contract (outlined in his Second Treatise of Government). At this time in history, women were not invited to be free and equal, in relation to their husbands and fathers or as citizens in the founding fathers' new republic. Therefore, the Constitution never addresses abortion, contraception, or marriage. Arguments made in laws and court cases on these topics, specifically reproductive rights, have therefore traditionally rested on a right to privacy the court has interpreted as being found in the first, fourth, fifth, and fourteenth amendments to the Constitution, rather than a right to freedom from sex–based discrimination found in the nineteenth amendment. The landmark supreme court cases Griswold v. Connecticut and Roe v. Wade were both won on these grounds, both setting a precedent for the expansion of the right to privacy. This protection has also been affected by the 2003 Partial–Birth Abortion Ban and the Hyde Amendment. First off, in 1965 the supreme court ruled 7–2 in the Griswold v. Connecticut case that the state of Connecticut's ban on contraception was unconstitutional, because it denied a married couple's right to privacy (a right extended to unmarried individuals under the Griswold precedent in the 1972 Eisenstadt v. Baird supreme court case). This expansion of privacy in Griswold later informed Roe v. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Every video I've watched and every scouting report I've read, has completely sold me on Hezonja as a legit NBA pro. He has an NBA like domineer. He's good and he knows it. He has Kobe like confidence, in that he isn't afraid to miss a big shot. When he gets hot, Hezonja is a lights out shooter. He attacks the rim relentlessly and isn't afraid of contact. Frank Kaminsky to the Hornets (9th Overall) Four first round picks and two second round picks– The Hornets think Frank Kaminsky is worth more than that. I was shocked when I heard this. How can a team pass up four first round picks for Frank Kaminsky? Not only did they pass up the picks, but also if they had taken the trade, they would have moved down to pick 16 and Kaminsky likely still would have been on the draft board. I am still baffled by the Hornets decision to reject that trade. Not only do I think the organization made a bad move by rejecting the trade, but also I think, Kaminsky will be a role player at best in the NBA. He'll stick around for a while because he's a seven footer who can hit a mid range shot. He is a below average post player and he's a liability on defense. • 27. Negative Effects Of Hip Hop While many rappers were able to make money on the new movement the majority of that money did not go into fixing up and nourishing the black community. This is evident in the music videos and song lyrics that brag about spending money on luxurious items, drugs, alcohol, and women instead of things that actually bolster the community. Yes, it is both unrealistic and unfair to put hip–hop on a pedestal and assume that it would completely reform the economy of a community, but its influence was –and still is– deeply rooted and powerful enough to have the ability to bring positive changes to the black community in the United States. Hip–hop has brought negative changes to the community so it is definitely not far–fetched to think that it has the ability to bring positive changes. Hip Hop was a distraction from the real problems and focused in its early years on "partying," "having fun," and acquiring material objects (). Hip Hop was essential a black redefining of the American dream which is argued by Professor Damon Sajnani to be "the denial of socioeconomic stratification in the United States," (). Hip Hop took from the prevalent idea of the American Dream that "happiness [came] with success, and success is measured in material acquisitions" (DAMON). This idea is riddled with delusions as many black people ended up spending lots of money on material objects such as expensive shoes but still lived the reality of poverty. • 29. Argumentative Essay About Kobe Bryant As it stands today, Kobe Bryant is the best basketball player to have ever played the game. Some argue that Michael Jordan was better, but he was not. Some argue that Lebron James is better, but he is not. To compare him to the men who played the center position is a waste of time. Obviously Shaquille O'Neal, Wilt Chamberlain, and Kareem Abdul Jabbar were more dominant. They were freaks of nature. What Kobe had that set him apart from everyone else was a skill set and mentality that is unmatched. Kobe is the best player first and foremost because he was a Los Angeles Laker for twenty years. Some may say that my bias towards Kobe as a Laker fan discredits my argument, but it does not. First, a list of his accomplishments. Kobe was drafted out of highschool at the age of seventeen, broke into the league by winning the Slam Dunk contest in his rookie season, and by age of twenty–five he was a three time world champion. He was the youngest person to be named a NBAAll–Star at the age of nineteen. The combination of his talents with the talents of Shaquille O'Neal was the greatest "one–two punch" of all time. That is an objective fact. Shaq himself has even admitted that had the duo stayed together after the 2004 season, they most certainly would have gone on to win additional world championships, but Kobe didn't need Shaq. • 31. Abortion Should Not Be Illegal Essay Abortion is widely debated across the world and in 1973 Roe v. Wade would start an issue with ethical and legal issues. There are multiple cases arguing why it should or shouldn't be lawful to go through with this procedure. Women should have the right to get an abortion as It is her rights to decide if they aren't able to be able have a child, the woman shouldn't have to rely on anyone else, she should be able to make this decision as they have to carry it for 9 months and endure the physical pain. Abortion should not be illegal because it is justifiable in cases of rape, or when the woman has mental health or financial issues. In the case of rape, it is unjustifiable to say that a woman has to carry a baby when she is forced into intercourse with a man who the woman does not please. For those who say that abortion is so inhumane, why doesn't one simply look at the act of rape as disgusting as someone would look at abortion. The victim is going through enough being forced without choice to have a child if she consumes, so why make her carry the baby for 9 months knowing that the perpetrator has given her this child. I don't think that the women should have to be mentally viable for this child or have to take care of a child that is forced upon her own will. Having a child hurts very much, why put a victim of rape through more pain then she has to endure? Due to how controversial they are is why they become such largely debated topics with many people having very different views on the specific topic. For example there is a Democratic and Republican party in the United States people either stick with one side or the other due to their beliefs and sometimes can be neutral or on the other party's side for certain topics. Abortion is a very controversial topic as it always has been all around the country but more specifically in the United States. There are two sides to the debate those who believe abortion should be legal and their organization is known as prochoice. On the other side there are the group of people who believe that abortion should not be legal and reverse the laws from what they are today this organization is known as prolife. It seems as though both of the organizations are very extreme while there can be some people who a neutral and believe in some ideas from the prochoice yet they also agree with some of the ideas from prolife. The two sides to the debate on abortion are known as pro–choice and pro–life although this topic is very controversial, today there is also a history of abortion laws and a very important case known as Roe vs. Wade which played a huge role in determining what laws on abortion are in the present. The various people involved in the abortion debate not only have strong beliefs, but each group has a self appeal that clearly reflects what they believe to be the essential issues. The abortion supporters see individual choice as central to the debate: If a woman cannot choose to terminate an unwanted pregnancy, a condition which affects her body and possibly her entire life, then she has lost one of her most basic human rights. These issues of abortion believe that while a fetus is a potential life, its life cannot be placed on the same level with that of a woman. On the other side, the anti–abortionist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The argument over abortion has avoided the real issue facing today's woman, her need to grow beyond stereotypes. Whenever an individual or group realizes it has been treated unjustly, the first reaction is anger, but often the anger is firs expressed as aggression. People outgrowing oppression have so much built up inside, so many memories of powerlessness, and so little knowledge of how to make themselves be heard. Violence towards others usually end up as the result. American men and women are among the most fair minded, but have slowly begun to feel that 4,000 abortions a day is enough. The abortion mentality has encouraged women to think of themselves as victims. Much emphasis is placed on pregnancy as a result of rape, even though the statistics show only about .1% of all rapes actually resulting in conception. That means that a large majority of pregnancies that resulted in abortion were the result of free choice. The assumption is that a woman does not have control over her own body until after a male partner is finished with it. Why is that? Where is their sense of pride? Maybe they're just looking at responsibilities as well as rights, and choosing instead of reacting. Many might say that Kobe was also a first pick in the draft, what makes him so much different from LeBron? Well, LeBron was getting more recognition because of the way he played, therefore he performed better which is what makes him special. Another example of his accomplishments is winning rookie of the year in 2004 because of his averaging of 7.3 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 2.2 steals a game. Rookie of the year is exactly as it sounds. A player does well enough in their rookie year and then gets nominated and voted for much later. Although the strenuous physical conditions of farm work in a Daara, as well as the relationship between the talibe and marabout has attracted significant scholarly attention, it has largely been misconstrued. As opposed to cruel exploitation of young men blinded by religious fervor, I will argue that the induction of otherwise disenfranchised males into the brotherhood is a good remedy for youth dislocation and dampens the disruptive effect of urbanization – thus promoting political stability by deterring civil unrest. According to many civil conflict theorists, including Stathis Kalyvas, young people who are physically dislocated from family, and without an occupation that can bring them economic stability or social status are at risk of joining insurgency groups, since they are dissatisfied with their exclusion from social respectability and blame it on political elites. While the young talibes of rural marabouts are close to the bottom of Senegal's social hierarchy, their relationship with their marabouts offers them opportunities to climb the social ladder that they would not have had otherwise. For instance, talibes are usually given ownership of the farmland they worked on after their servitude ends and in some cases; they are even given a wife. • 43. Abortion Argumentative Essay : Abortion Maren Goodrich Ms. Jensen English April 29, 2014 Abortion Argumentative Essay On average about 41.6 million unborn children are aborted every year. Abortion is killing an unborn baby and it should be illegal. Abortion is wrong because it supports irresponsibility by parents. It gives the unborn children no choice or opportunity at life. In addition, instead of abortion, parents could put up the child for adoption, benefiting people that cannot have children of their own. Abortion supports irresponsibility by parents because it encourages unprotected sex. If a couple unexpectedly got pregnant, then they could choose not to face the consequences of a bad choice and just choose to abort the child. Abortion was banned in many states until the Roe vs. Wade court case, where a woman filed a lawsuit against the state of Texas for not allowing her to have an abortion (Roe vs. Wade 1979). It is irresponsible to have an abortion because it will cause very strong emotional and mental effects for the mother. "Women who are negatively affected by an abortion may experience any of the following mental health problems: anxiety, depression, sleep disturbances, substance use/abuse, and/or increased risk of suicide" (Coleman). Public policy can be generally defined as a law systems, strict measures, courses of action, and funding issues that about a given topic promulgated by a governmental entity or its representatives. Abortion is one issue that has been a matter of subject in government and citizens concerning its public policy. Over years the government has made decisions concerning the policy towards abortions in the United States of America. Abortion plays a major role in public policy on the issue of whether or not it is a public decision or a woman's own private decision. In certain views of citizens in the United States, abortion is not seen as an issue that should be banned by governmental laws. They believe that it is a private decision that should be made by a woman and her medical doctor. John M. Swomley, a Ph.D. graduate in political science, saw that "abortion per se is not morally wrong" (Swomley). He thought that this was a personal matter that should be decided by oneself or a medical examiner. The alternate to private decision is compulsory pregnancy if the government makes laws prohibiting or restricting abortions prior to the third trimester, according to John Swomley. • 47. Roe vs Wade In 1973, the Supreme Court made a decision in one of the most controversial cases in history, the case of Roe v. Wade (410 U.S. 113 (1973)), in which abortion was legalized and state anti–abortion statues were struck down for being unconstitutional. This essay will provide a brief history and analysis of the issues of this case for both the woman's rights and the states interest in the matter. Also, this essay will address the basis for the court ruling in Roe's favor and the effects this decision has had on subsequent cases involving a woman's right to choose abortion in the United States. The court's decision created legal precedent for several subsequent abortion restriction cases and has led to the development of legislation to protect women's health rights. Although the Supreme Court's decision in Roe v. Wade was a historic victory for women's rights, it is still an extremely controversial subject today and continues to be challenged by various groups. Roe v. Wade Case Law Analysis Before 1973, abortion access was determined by state legislature for each individual state with no consistency across the United States. • 49. The Case Roe V. Wade Essay Since the 1960s, the fight to receive accessible and affordable abortions has been a largely controversial issue in the United States. The case Roe v. Wade was the climax of that fight, for "the Court held that... only a pregnant woman and her doctor have the legal right to make the decision about an abortion" ("History of Abortion"). Although Roe v. Wade ultimately made abortions legal in the States, there are still setbacks for affordable and accessible abortions today, and many of these conflicts may be directly traced to state–by–state determination of abortion laws. In today 's society, the rate of teen pregnancy is rapidly decreasing. This may be attributed to decrease in costs of contraception, costs and availability for abortion, and better sex education over time. • 59. Abortion : The Battle For Integrity Abortion: The Battle for Integrity On January 22, 1973, one pregnant woman made a radical argument to legalize abortion to the Dallas County Court in Texas that would dramatically shake the future of America. This young pregnant women known as Roe defiantly claimed to the assembly that the Texas laws for abortion were unconstitutional. The laws to establish abortion were authorized by the state governments at that time, and specifically the Texas laws ruled abortion illegal unless the mother's life was threatened. After this heated debate known as Roe v. Wade, the United States Supreme Court eventually declared a woman 's constitutional right to have an abortion (Kaplan 49). Ever since abortion was legalized in the court decision of Roe v. Wade, the justification for this act is that a fetus is not a person until viability, that women have a clear right to privacy for abortion laid out in the fourteenth amendment, and that if abortion was illegal, back alley abortions would become frequent and a risk to many women; despite this, a more persuasive view on abortion would be that a fetus is a potential life, that abortion denies a fetus the right to life and happiness guaranteed in the fourteenth amendment and the Declaration of Independence, and that legal abortion leads to more abortions and more use of abortion for the intent of birth control. In order of to justify the legalization of abortion, pro choice advocates claim that fetuses don 't become a "person" until it 's ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 63. Abortion Is An Intentional Termination Of A Pregnancy Abortion is an intentional termination of a pregnancy during the first twenty–eight weeks. The debate of whether or not abortion should be legalized has been a key political topic for years. Based upon a survey done by the Pew Research Center, as of September 22, 2014 "a majority of Americans (55%) express the opinion that abortion should be legal in all or most cases; four–in–ten say it should be illegal in all or most cases."(Abortion, n.p.). Abortion should be legalized based upon the mothers' medical circumstances, for the fact that abortion is not a threat against the mental health of patients, and to the rights of privacy and bodily integrity of females must be kept. Moreover the religious views of others should not be taken as a factor against a person's decision for abortion. The legalization of abortion is a strongly debated topic among our political parties. The Republican Party, unlike the Democratic Party, is against abortion even though impending mothers may require an abortion to save their own lives. Abortions, as reported by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist, are fundamentally needed in many situations to save the lives of woman since "...pregnancy is not a risk–free life event."(Painter, n.p.). Transactional Strategies At New York University Key Points The topic of Wade Boykin speech at New York University was academic success for all students, but more specifically students of color. He discussed the documentation and evidence that explains the achievement gap between students of color and their white counterparts. Boykin also believes the evidence for why the gap exists should be the guide for implementing strategies, inventions and programs to raise achievement. The evidence and research suggest that to raise achievement the intervention should start with transactional strategies. Transactional strategies involve the exchanges between teachers and students, classroom collaboration, and classroom environment. The specific focuses of the transactional strategies are student engagement, positive self–efficacy and teacher–student relationship quality (TSRQ). Research shows that student engagement leads to greater success for students of color in math and reading, instilling positive self–efficacy helps build confidence, perseverance and hold students accountable for their own learning and teacher–student relationships gives the opportunity for meaningful learning experiences and intellectual exchanges. The ruling was an extremely close one, but at last, same sex couples were able to be married which was their right all along. Even back in 1973, abortion was a hot topic. It is understandable that it would be a topic of concern considering many people view it as murder. I do not see it as murder, abortion is the right of the person carrying the baby. Some people get abortions because of rape, some get it because they aren't financially able to care for the baby, some people get them because they are too young for a baby. I think all of those reasons are pretty good reasons to have an abortion. Many people fighting saying that pro life and that you can put the baby up for adoption fail to face the reality of how many children are already in foster care and aren't able to find homes. • 71. Roe V. Wade And Its Impact On American Society Taylor Corbett HON 301–001 May 1, 2015 Final Project Roe v. Wade and Its Impact on American Society Few Supreme Court decisions have stirred up as much controversy, vitriolic debate, and even violence as the one delivered in Roe v. Wade in 1973. Four decades later, it remains a touchstone for the culture wars in the United States and a pivot upon which much of American politics turns. In fact, the authors of "Roe v. Wade: The Abortion Rights Controversy in American History" state that even today, the case (and its companion cases) "remains the most divisive and controversial judicial decision of the twentieth century" (3). Although it is a landmark case in itself, its continuing influence on American law and politics proves that its legacy lives on far beyond its formal resolution in a court of law. Essentially, the most important points are that the cause of the case's complexity and drama is the legal relationship between men and women that the ruling mirrored and compounded, the way the medical profession was impacted, and the political significance that the issue still holds presently. One cannot understand what Roe v. Wade meant to women or to men without understanding how abortion became illegal, and that story begins in the nineteenth century. In 1821, Connecticut became the first state to explicitly criminalize abortion. The primary purpose of this law was to spell out the conditions under which the state could prosecute an abortionist for an abortion. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Freedom to the Choice of Abortion We all live our lives as we please all in accordance to the law, but when it comes to abortion people start to judge and try to regulate how others live and interfere in their personal choices. We live in a country based on freedoms, and women have and should continue to have the freedom to the choice of an abortion. A woman's right to choose abortion is a fundamental right recognized by the US Supreme Court. The courts also have a category of classes called the 'near–suspect' classes, which include gender. Gender deserves protection from possible discrimination at the hands of the majority. Women constitute a majority of American's and have been discriminated in the past. The Landmark case Roe v. Wade was decided and remains the law of the land. Making laws against abortions don't stop abortions from happening; they just make it less safe, which in many cases leads to death. Therefore idea of supporting pro–life is contradictory, this is why the nation should be pro– choice. No child should be brought into this world where they are not wanted or are not able to live a normal life. Most people who are against abortion will never even become pregnant, so they should not be making laws against it. Pregnancy is a private and personal matter. • 77. The Issue Of Abortion And Women 's Rights Essay The topic of abortion has been particularly controversial throughout the 2016 election. One of the main focuses of Hilary's campaign was on the side of supporting abortion rights [4] and therefore the rights of women in America. On the other hand, Trump has made some conflicting arguments. In the past Donald Trump has been strictly pro–choice, but during his election he was anti–abortion. A Supreme Court ruling just this past summer turned back restrictions on abortion laws in Texas [4], devastating those who are anti–abortion and exciting those who are pro–choice for change moving forward. [3] Now, with Donald Trump as President, people are wondering what side he will take on this issue and where the fate of abortion and women's rights will lie in this country. However, should Donald Trump have anything to say about Women's Rights with the way he has run his election? Trump has been called out countless times on his objectification of women and sexist comments, so why would he care about women's rights as president? Not all cases of abortion are morally equivalent. Being extreme conservative or liberal, like Trump and Hilary respectively, on the issue of abortion negates relevant factors in determining if an abortion is right or wrong. For example, there are the circumstances of the pregnancy (rape of violence), if the pregnancy was voluntary or involuntary, financial circumstances, family environment, health of the mother or fetus, stage of pregnancy, religious ...
