supports her claim that drones are a big business by stating UAV market set to jump from $5.2 Billion

commercial drones. The stakeholders in the controversy are workers in drones manufacturers,

hold over many powerful people and organizations earned him respect and kept him in power. A lot of
people believed that John Edgar Hoover was gay and his lover was Clyde Anderson Tolson. Hoover
didn t have wife or any children that anyone knew of. He spent a lot of time with Clyde like going on
strolls and going for rides in Atlantic City, New Jersey. As they spent more time together many people
had thought Mr. Hoover was homosexual but it was never proven. Before he passed away he ended up
having a file on almost everyone with a criminal or minor record. Mr. Hoover had files on everyone

I walked into the high school gym 15 minutes before it started. I was ready to kill it. I could already
smell the fresh new volleyballs for the upcoming season. It was the last day of junior varsity
volleyball tryouts. Hi Amber! exclaimed Taylor, the junior varsity coach. I waved, sat down, and got
my shoes and kneepads on. There were many upperclassmen in the gym ready to make the team they
had all made the previous year. Honestly, it was pretty intimidating being a freshman surrounded by
all of these amazing players. But, I knew I d be okay because I spent my entire offseason preparing
and working in order to make the team I d wanted to play on during my freshman year. The previous
day, I had worked hard, but not as hard as I could. I promised myself that I would prove to the coach
and myself that I was worthy of making the junior varsity team and playing on it. That day, Coach
Wiley told us that only 12 people would make each team. Those words made me freeze up because I
was so nervous. To start the second day, Coach Taylor was tossing balls to pass and I worked as hard
as I ever could to make each and every forearm pass perfect. At that point, I was already sweating like
a glass of lemonade on a hot day. We then did a hitting drill with freshman and first year players only.
After, we did some setting drills and a few transition drills. Then, it was time for a water break.

The Glass as Half Full: A Reflection of the Unseen in Sappho to Philaenis
Skepticism surrounding John Donne s Sappho to Philaenis relates to the fact that the societal structure
at the time the poem was written was one dominated by heterosexual, misogynistic men, suggesting
that Donne s treatment of female homosexuality was geared towards the satiation of these
heterosexual males desires, these men being his primary audience at the time. However, the
significance of Donne s poem must be explored on another level. In contrast to the view that the piece
was meant to represent a male dominant society, an alternate view is that the poem originates from a
place of protofeminism and a pioneering sexual outlook on Donne s part. In Sappho to Philaenis, the
purity and secrecy of the two women s sexuality functions as a significant argument for the validity of
same sex relationships; Donne makes the invisible the erotic, thereby defining a discourse for
lesbianism. Early modern literature penned by heterosexual males and referencing lesbian
relationships should not be dismissed as being inauthentic and inaccurate depictions solely based on
the fact that a male perspective is given with regard to these relationships. James Holstun claims that
Donne takes the concepts of sameness, oneness, and mirroring in Sappho to Philaenis and infuses a
heterosexist judgment, viewing lesbianism from a sterile, impersonal

Paper About Forgiveness
RE Assignment Anthony.Pulling
PART 1
The concept of forgiveness is a very important forgiveness, without it the world would be a very very
different place.Forgiveness is the action or process of being forgiven, or to be forgiven. Forgiveness
has been displayed in the article because Kaine Barnett carelessly drove his car into the emergency
stopping lane on the Hume Highway killing Sarah Frazer and Geoffry Clarke the tow truck helping
her.
The father of Sarah Frazer feels very sorry for Kaine he said in court we don t want Kaine to be in
prison for the next 18 months to 3 years. Kaine could have been my son. Any of this could of
happened to any of our families. We don t hate him. We feel so sorry that he has to go through this.

The catholic sacrament of forgiveness is very important because no one is perfect ever since Adam
and Eve were tempted by the devil to eat the apple from the garden of Eden no human being was
perfect (Except for Mary). Imagine today s society without forgiveness and how many sins would be
left unforgiven.
Jesus Christ himself displayed a mind blowing level of forgiveness when he was being nailed to the
cross. ...33When they came to the place called The Skull, there they crucified Him and the criminals,
one on the right and the other on the left. 34But Jesus was saying, Father, forgive them; for they do not
know what they are doing. And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves. 35And the
people stood by, looking on. And even the rulers were sneering at Him, saying, He saved others; let

St. Boniface and Catholicism in Germany
Prior to the work of St. Boniface in central Germany from 716 to 754 A.D., the local Hessian and
Thuringian people worshiped pagan gods and honored living things essential to daily life, such as the
oak trees of the surrounding forests, which provided everything from building materials to nuts for
food. Though Christianity had been introduced to this area, the current practice was actually heresy
because people practiced a blend of Christian and pagan beliefs and rituals. St. Boniface not only
returned Catholicism to Germany, but kept heresy, the Church s main challenge during this time
period, out of central Germany. St. Boniface s goal was to expand the Catholic Church in Germany,
making certain that that the political authorities were firmly committed to Christianity. He went
further, and was not only Pope Gregory s missionary to Germany, but also purified the faith of the
people, removing the culturally ingrained practices of paganism. During this time period, some
Germans didn t fully understand Christianity, and although many in Upper Hesse converted, they still
practiced their old pagan rituals. St. Boniface built schools and seminaries in Upper Hesse. The area
fully converted to Catholicism thanks to the teachings of faithful priests and teachers who were
brought in by Boniface to teach the full truth of the Catholic Church without aspects of the old pagan
beliefs or rituals included. The eighth century Germans used gods to explain the different things in

The Holocaust is an event that happened because of other s silence and the Nazis who put Jewish

many others. Though many of modern times wish to reserve teaching the Holocaust to high schoolers
and students in college since they are older, but we should teach the Holocaust to middle schoolers

Holocaust is difficult for students of any kind to understand and get across. But there have been ideas
on how to teach it to students which is talked about by Professor Zehavit Gross in an article by The
Jerusalem Post where she said this it was found that Holocaust education is more effective within the
framework of civic education than within the framework of history education. and also this According
to my perception, Holocaust education has to be accompanied with intensive teaching of anti racism

We should teach the Holocaust to middle schoolers because of their maturity on understanding

Christian Worldview Essay
At any given point in time, and with any given human being, an individual s opinion and behavior
expose their worldview by demonstrating their perception of what they believe to be true. The
worldview of every person has a comprehensive perspective of reality in every aspect of life. It is
important to note that a person s worldview might not actually possess the truth, but it is their truth,
and that is what makes it their worldview. Consequently, one s personal understanding seeps into
every matter of one s life and the lives of others, both in private and public issues. Furthermore, the
essence of an established worldview is shaped by external influences such as one s cultural
environment, upbringing, companions, and the media. As a result of differing and incompatible
opinions among humans, worldviews are generally categorized into separate groups. Moreover,
similar worldviews that share beliefs and morals are able to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Essay On Frank Romero
A Famous artist named Frank Romero painted a mural in 1984 in the city of Los Angeles he named
this mural Going to the Olympics. In the mural he tries to show the people of Los Angels what they
are known for, in the mural he paints cars with hearts on top to representing that the people of L.A.
love their cars, showing palm trees in between each car. On top he paints what you always see or can

color choices he uses are bright vivid colors try to described Los Angeles and a big bright colorful
city.
In the the painting Romero tries to tell the viewers that one thing that everybody in Los Angeles cares
about is their cars. We know he tries to tell us this because what mostly pops out in the painting is the
cars and the giant heart on top of each car. The colors that Romero has chosen for his painting give a
certain type of mood to the viewers. When I first looked at the painting it gave me a bit of happiness
because his painting does really represent Los Angeles.
Frank Romero had officially finished the mural in 1984. Showing the people of Los Angeles what we

Free Trade Is A Basic Sense, Trade
Free trade is in a basic sense, trade where there are no restrictions put upon the exports and imports
between countries. Although the idea of free trade is complicated and has many facets, there are ways
to break it down into something more easily understood. Some countries have free trade with other
countries, but others have policies limiting exports and import in order to protect the employment and
economy of their country. Other obstacles to free trade can be barriers on export amounts, and import
quotas. Trying to understand the complexities of international trade can be difficult, but the book by
Pietra Rivoli, The Travels of a T Shirt in the Global Economy, helps to focus the concepts on a single
item, making it easier to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to help generate actual free trade people in a country need access to markets that is not
controlled and regulated and also to the information for other markets. In order to start working
towards free trade agreements need to be developed that help remove barriers and actually promote
free trade between countries. Many Americans and American companies are bothered and worried
about cheap clothing and labor from China and the impact it may have on the textile companies in
America. This is nothing new according to the book The Travels of a T Shirt in the Global Economy.
Rivoli explains that these concerns about Chinese products and labor are similar to the concerns
voiced by the British concerning cheap Indian cotton. As seen by the past concerns, they are not true
concerns, but rather false ideas spread by fear and the need for many people in a country to control the
political aspect.
Advantages and Disadvantages
The advantages of free trade between nations are numerous. If two nations have a specialized product
they produce, they can each offer the product to other countries at a low price. If two of thee countries
are trading with each other, both of them benefit from the ability to trade free of restrictions. Free
trade making prices lower can also help the people that buy the products. For instance, if products

The Tragic Hero Of Marcus Junius Brutus Minor Essay

October 27, 2015
Tragic hero
Marcus Junius Brutus Minor was the son of Marcus Junius Brutus Maior and Servilia Caepionis. His
father was killed by Pompey the Great in dubious circumstances after he had taken part in the
rebellion of Lepidus; his mother was the half sister of Cato the Younger, and later Julius Caesar s
mistress. Some sources refer to the possibility of Caesar being his real father, despite Caesar s being
only 15 years old when Brutus was born. Brutus uncle, Quintus Servilius Caepio, adopted him in
about 59 BC, and Brutus was known officially for a time as Quintus Servilius Caepio Brutus before he
reverted to using his birth name. Following Caesar s assassination in 44 BC, Brutus revived his
adoptive name in order to illustrate his links to another famous tyrannicide, Gaius Servilius Ahala,
from whom he was descended. Brutus held his uncle in high regard and his political career started
when he became an assistant to Cato, during his governorship of Cyprus. During this time, he enriched
himself by lending money at high rates of interest. Brutus was also active in the province of Cilicia, in
the year before Cicero was proconsul there; Cicero documents how Brutus profited from
moneylending to the provincials in his Letters. He returned to Rome a rich man, where he married
Claudia Pulchra. From his first appearance in the Senate, Brutus aligned with the Optimates (the
conservative faction) against the First Triumvirate

To begin, the New England, Middle, and Southern colonies developed a different way of life because

self governing government or the government was based off the people and less off of a god leading
them. These two quotes tie back to the claim because it shows how the government was different from
the Middle colonies (based off the people) to the New England colonies (based off religion). Also, the

With a plethora of new ideas, innovations, skills and opportunities, entrepreneurship has become a

Entrepreneurship can improve economic efficiency, bring market innovation, increase employment

(Source: Entrepreneurial self efficacy and business start up: developing a multi dimensional definition
by Drnovšek M. et al).
Theories in the past suggest that education targeted towards entrepreneurship can plays an important
role in developing levels of self efficacy. A bulk of researches has been done on how education has
affected the entrepreneurial self efficacy among the students. Bandura has said that self confidence in
our abilities to successfully perform specific tasks comes from four key sources: mastery experiences,
modeling, social persuasion, and judgments of our own physiological states. Thus by providing
education that is focused towards developing skills and interest for entrepreneurship, can develop self
efficacy in individuals. However, this is not always true. Sometimes entrepreneurship education can
also have a negative impact. Particular combination of personal, perceptional and situational factors
can lead to entrepreneurship education actually decreasing the level of entrepreneurial intentions.
Researchers like Fayolle et al (2006) and Brockner et al (2004) have suggested that education
programs can have a counter effect too. Nevertheless, my personal belief is that entrepreneurship
education has a positive impact on entrepreneurial self efficacy.
Earlier reviews on the entrepreneurship education reveal that entrepreneurship education should take
the action learning or experience oriented learning approach in order to increase the

Examples Of Differing Viewpoints
Differing Viewpoints The United States has been a powerful country for centuries, and an aspect of
life that has not changed through the years, are differing opinions on all issues. One thing that
Americans can agree on, is the need for volunteers to keep our country running. The flexibility in the
Volunteer Protection Act allows states to opt out of coverage only if that state should enact a more
explicit act citing the federal law. Before the federal act was signed into law in June of 1997, many
states already had tort laws in place, protecting volunteers in general from litigation. Utah was a state
that opted out of the act, and currently enforces their own volunteer protection. Along with the Utah

Examples Of Rite Of Passage
I interviewed my Mother s rite of passage she experienced going from single to married. She
explained that Vietnamese weddings are one of the most important ceremonies in Vietnamese culture.
Marriage is a big step that changes a Vietnamese woman s life because marriage is the time they leave
their own house and family to enter to a new house and new family. My mother said she was very
nervous at that time because she did not know how her life will be at the new house with her husband
s family. I asked her how she knew my father. She said that my grandmother introduced him for her
because father was a son of grandmother s friend. In old Vietnamese s culture, the children have to

The ceremony confirms that the wedding is still on schedule and my mother did not run away. A few
days before the wedding, my father and his family visited my mother and her family with round
lacquered boxes known as betrothal presents. It composes of areca nuts and betel leaves, tea, cake,
fruits, wines and other delicacies which covered with red cloth and carried by unmarried girls or boys.
The gifts brought by the bridegroom to be are placed on the ancestral altar. Joss sticks and lights are lit
and incense is burned. My mother and father ceremonially bowed before the altar. After this, my
mother went to another room and my father took over the entertainment of the guests, acting as a
member of my mother s family. After a long period of time, my mother s father removed the gifts from
the altar, thanked everyone, and divided the edible gifts into two parts, one smaller than the other. The
smaller part was given back to my father s family indicating that they have been far too generous and
that my mother s family is not greedy. This also indicates good luck and a close alliance between the
two families. Later, the other edible gifts were distributed to friends of my mother s

3.1 Average Rainfall
The suburb of Highton is positioned in the city of Geelong, Victoria, Likewise, the information that
has been collected on this suburb was obtained from the nearest weather station (Weather Station

The data that was gathered highlighted the annual rainfall of this suburb to be around 520 mm. This
result indicated the dryness of the suburb of Highton. However, in comparison, the Melbourne CBD
was shown to be around 650 mm which indicated a 130 mm difference of rainfall annually.

deserted beach with some mountains in the distance, while Red Hills and Bones are set in the desert

it in different ways. Dali s painting depicts death with the washed up creature and the absence of life
in a surrealistic style; O Keeffe expresses death by the use of bones and the unforgiving landscape in a
naturalistic style. These famous secular paintings were both born in the early twentieth century in a
turbulent time in western civilization and represent the hard times of the early 1900 s. Differences in
the paintings have to do less with the style than they do with the person who painted them. The
Persistence of Memory was painted, by a male, which was often the case in the early 20th century;
Red Hills and Bones was painted by a female, which was never the case, being a famous female artist

paintings, Dali s piece is worth a great deal more than O Keeffe s piece and Dali s piece is also better

William Blake Research Paper
When we discuss Romantic poetry, William Blake is one of the forerunners of that literary period. His
two major poetical works include Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience. In both of these
collections, there is a poem titled The Chimney Sweeper . In both of these poems, we observe the
innocence of childhood suffering from subjugation to harsh manual work. In the concerned poems,
two perspectives are given. First, the child is innocent and believes in whatever his parents have told
about the magnificence in the eyes of God of those who work. In this manner, Blake portrays the way
the innocence of little children was exploited by their parents for a meager amount of money. Second,
Blake questions and shows skepticism towards the implied hypocrisy of his parents as they sold him
to sweep chimneys and goes themselves to church and pray to God. In this poem, Blake shows that the
child has become aware of the ruthless behavior of his parents, who sold him for money alone. ...

sensibility of those times in which Blake wrote, it also shows the aspect of religion which is employed
for exploitation and forgery. As the child is innocent, he is willing to believe in any story of angels and
after life. On the one hand, it magnifies the innocence of childhood and on the other hand, it shows the
heartless indifference of the father to his own son. Overall, the villainous character of the father in

In the Reformation era, two groups dictated the war of differing religions, Calvinism and the Catholic
Church. Both had different interpretations of God as they maintained loyal members. The Catholic
Church and Protestant denominations were enemies. John Calvin created the Protestant religion
named Calvinism. Based in Geneva, Switzerland, it eventually became one of the largest Christian
religion outside Roman Catholic. Its founder John Calvin used Geneva to spread his message. The
Catholic Church experienced several issues in the 1500s. In 1517, Martin Luther s 95 Theses and the

Long before the creation of the Geneva Church and the establishment of the rules, John Calvin had
doubts about his religion. Thomas Beza, author of Life of Calvin said, he could not properly fulfil his
ministry, unless, along with Christian doctrine, a regular presbytery which full ecclesiastical authority
were established (Calvin and the Reformation in Geneva 188). The Geneva Church required people to
attend sermons on Sunday, with few exceptions. Ensuring absolute belief in Calvinism was important
to the survival of the growing religion. When a person was convicted of violating the rules of the
Geneva Church, often they were sentenced to death. The Inquisition of the Catholic Church and the
Geneva consistory by Calvinists were essential to maintain the power of the religious groups. It must
be remembered what happened to Michael Servetus. Initially condemned by the Catholic Church for
his viewpoints, which doubted Christ, he escaped to Geneva on route to Italy. There, Calvinism
members discover him, which lead to his condemnation by yet another religious group. Zophy sums
his ordeal when he says, After a lengthy trial at which Calvin testified extensively and was
counterattacked by Servetus, the Spaniard was found guilty and burned at the stake (225). Servetus
serves as a painful reminder to those who question religious leader s authority. Equally, Calvinists and
the Catholic Church members used the horrific tactic or burning individuals alive to prove their
viewpoints. It was normal during the 1500s. Ultimately, people lost their lives over conviction from

Abstract. The Common Cold And Influenza Are Two Common
Abstract
The common cold and Influenza are two common illnesses of the upper respiratory tract. These illness
can often be mistaken for each other due to the overlapping symptoms. The two symptoms that seem
to present when the flu is occurring are a fever with a cough. Prevention is also similar for both of the
illnesses with the exception of an actual vaccine that can be administered annually for flu prevention.
Diagnosis can occur in the physicians office according to the individuals symptoms that are presenting
or by completing an rapid flu test. Treatments are also similar for both the common cold and the flu
because they are both caused by viruses, therefore a patient would not benefit from antibiotic therapy.

The symptoms of an upper respiratory tract infection can be caused by several other viruses and
bacteria. It is important to seek proper medical treatment to receive the correct diagnosis, which will
prevent severe illness and from spreading to other people.
The Common Cold. An acute viral infection of the upper respiratory tract is often spread by hand
contact from an infected person. This may be from direct, indirect, or aerosol of the secretions and the
virus (Allan and Arroll, pg 190). The common cold is often less severe than the flu but has similar
symptoms. The cold typically is a shorter mild illness with symptoms gradually occurring. It is known
to start with sneezing, sore throat, possible chills, and headache. As the cold enhances the patient may
present with nasal drainage or congestion and cough. A cold is preventable with physical
interventions, probiotics, and exercise. Physical interventions are extremely important in preventing
illness and preventing the illness from spreading. These interventions can include hand washing, using
alcohol based solutions, gloves, masks, and gowns (Allan and Arroll, pg 192). The most common
treatments for the common cold include antihistamines, decongestants, antitussives, and
acetaminophen. One study of guaifenesin found no benefit; in another, 75% of participants reported
that guaifenesin was helpful for their cough, compared with 31% given placebo (Allan

Immanuel Kant s Definition Of Ritual Peace
Immanuel Kant gives two definitions of perpetual peace. In his first definition, he states that in order
for perpetual peace to be achieved, the constitution of every state has to be republican. For under a

declare war. Which he believes is good because they need resources which can be expensive.
furthermore, reparation after the war can be costly (pg. 21). His second idea for as to do with states.

Water Temperature And Salinity
What is Temperature and Salinity, what even is Seawater. Well you came to the right spot.
Temperature is a measurement of the average heat or thermal energy of the particles in a substance.1
Seawater is water that of course comes from an ocean or sea. Now Salinity is the total number of salt
dissolved in water.2 Temperature is a major determining factor of global climate patterns. It affects the
life cycles of plants and animals, influences weather and tides, and controls the freeze and thaw of the
polar ice caps. A small change in average temperature can have powerful effects on the environment
worldwide. Salinity helps us understand the health of a water body, and what animal and plant species
we expect to find (or not find) there.3 Some animals tolerate changes in salinity well, and are found in
both freshwater and salt water (eels, alewives, invasive Chinese Mitten Crabs). Others are healthy
only when living within a certain range of salinity (oysters). Oceans are4 the lifeblood of planet Earth
and humankind. They flow over nearly three quarters of our planet, and hold 97% of the planet s
water. They produce more than half of the oxygen in the atmosphere, and absorb the most carbon from
it. The temperature of seawater varies with the amount of sun that hits that area. This includes the
angles of the sun rays. Depending on how much sunlight hits a certain spot the temperature changes
because the more sunlight a spot might get, the more the temperature will increase due

  • 5. Descriptive Essay About Basketball I walked into the high school gym 15 minutes before it started. I was ready to kill it. I could already smell the fresh new volleyballs for the upcoming season. It was the last day of junior varsity volleyball tryouts. Hi Amber! exclaimed Taylor, the junior varsity coach. I waved, sat down, and got my shoes and kneepads on. There were many upperclassmen in the gym ready to make the team they had all made the previous year. Honestly, it was pretty intimidating being a freshman surrounded by all of these amazing players. But, I knew I d be okay because I spent my entire offseason preparing and working in order to make the team I d wanted to play on during my freshman year. The previous day, I had worked hard, but not as hard as I could. I promised myself that I would prove to the coach and myself that I was worthy of making the junior varsity team and playing on it. That day, Coach Wiley told us that only 12 people would make each team. Those words made me freeze up because I was so nervous. To start the second day, Coach Taylor was tossing balls to pass and I worked as hard as I ever could to make each and every forearm pass perfect. At that point, I was already sweating like a glass of lemonade on a hot day. We then did a hitting drill with freshman and first year players only. After, we did some setting drills and a few transition drills. Then, it was time for a water break. How do you think you re doing? Ellie whispered. I whispered back, good, I think. Your sets ... Jambotkar ENGL 520 Short Paper 2 October 2014 The Glass as Half Full: A Reflection of the Unseen in Sappho to Philaenis Skepticism surrounding John Donne s Sappho to Philaenis relates to the fact that the societal structure at the time the poem was written was one dominated by heterosexual, misogynistic men, suggesting that Donne s treatment of female homosexuality was geared towards the satiation of these heterosexual males desires, these men being his primary audience at the time. However, the significance of Donne s poem must be explored on another level. In contrast to the view that the piece was meant to represent a male dominant society, an alternate view is that the poem originates from a place of protofeminism and a pioneering sexual outlook on Donne s part. In Sappho to Philaenis, the purity and secrecy of the two women s sexuality functions as a significant argument for the validity of same sex relationships; Donne makes the invisible the erotic, thereby defining a discourse for lesbianism. Early modern literature penned by heterosexual males and referencing lesbian relationships should not be dismissed as being inauthentic and inaccurate depictions solely based on the fact that a male perspective is given with regard to these relationships. • 8. St. Boniface and Catholicism in Germany Prior to the work of St. Boniface in central Germany from 716 to 754 A.D., the local Hessian and Thuringian people worshiped pagan gods and honored living things essential to daily life, such as the oak trees of the surrounding forests, which provided everything from building materials to nuts for food. Though Christianity had been introduced to this area, the current practice was actually heresy because people practiced a blend of Christian and pagan beliefs and rituals. St. Boniface not only returned Catholicism to Germany, but kept heresy, the Church s main challenge during this time period, out of central Germany. St. Boniface s goal was to expand the Catholic Church in Germany, making certain that that the political authorities were firmly committed to Christianity. He went further, and was not only Pope Gregory s missionary to Germany, but also purified the faith of the people, removing the culturally ingrained practices of paganism. During this time period, some Germans didn t fully understand Christianity, and although many in Upper Hesse converted, they still practiced their old pagan rituals. St. Boniface built schools and seminaries in Upper Hesse. The Tragic Hero Of Marcus Junius Brutus Minor Essay Marina Senseney Eng. ll / 4th block October 27, 2015 Tragic hero Marcus Junius Brutus Minor was the son of Marcus Junius Brutus Maior and Servilia Caepionis. His father was killed by Pompey the Great in dubious circumstances after he had taken part in the rebellion of Lepidus; his mother was the half sister of Cato the Younger, and later Julius Caesar s mistress. Some sources refer to the possibility of Caesar being his real father, despite Caesar s being only 15 years old when Brutus was born. Brutus uncle, Quintus Servilius Caepio, adopted him in about 59 BC, and Brutus was known officially for a time as Quintus Servilius Caepio Brutus before he reverted to using his birth name. Following Caesar s assassination in 44 BC, Brutus revived his adoptive name in order to illustrate his links to another famous tyrannicide, Gaius Servilius Ahala, from whom he was descended. Brutus held his uncle in high regard and his political career started when he became an assistant to Cato, during his governorship of Cyprus. During this time, he enriched himself by lending money at high rates of interest. Brutus was also active in the province of Cilicia, in the year before Cicero was proconsul there; Cicero documents how Brutus profited from moneylending to the provincials in his Letters. It started a little like this, there was a knock on the door and I got up to go see who it was. When I opened the door there was a man on his horse. The man asked my parents were home, they were, so I said I could go and get them. Once I had gotten my parents the man asked if they are willing to go on a trip through the sea to Kwillining, London. They said they would, so they put in there few overalls and dirty old jeans into a small waggon that are going to have to hall 46 miles to get to the ship. I have two brothers ... A man about twice the height as me then thundered in. The man started rambling on about how everyone is dieing and that the world was going to end. I noticed there were swollen oval shaped things the size of an apple. The man then asked, I ve traveled a long way and i m so tired of seeing dead bodies everywhere I go I was also wondering if I could sit a while here. Just about everyone is dead around here. I told him he could stay a while and I got him some fresh water. The man said he would replace our door and he was very sorry for hacking it down. Both had different interpretations of God as they maintained loyal members. The Catholic Church and Protestant denominations were enemies. John Calvin created the Protestant religion named Calvinism. Based in Geneva, Switzerland, it eventually became one of the largest Christian religion outside Roman Catholic. Its founder John Calvin used Geneva to spread his message. Long before the creation of the Geneva Church and the establishment of the rules, John Calvin had doubts about his religion. Thomas Beza, author of Life of Calvin said, he could not properly fulfil his ministry, unless, along with Christian doctrine, a regular presbytery which full ecclesiastical authority were established (Calvin and the Reformation in Geneva 188). The Geneva Church required people to attend sermons on Sunday, with few exceptions. Ensuring absolute belief in Calvinism was important to the survival of the growing religion. When a person was convicted of violating the rules of the Geneva Church, often they were sentenced to death. The Inquisition of the Catholic Church and the Geneva consistory by Calvinists were essential to maintain the power of the religious groups. It must be remembered what happened to Michael Servetus. Initially condemned by the Catholic Church for his viewpoints, which doubted Christ, he escaped to Geneva on route to Italy. There, Calvinism members discover him, which lead to his condemnation by yet another religious group. Zophy sums his ordeal when he says, After a lengthy trial at which Calvin testified extensively and was counterattacked by Servetus, the Spaniard was found guilty and burned at the stake (225). Servetus serves as a painful reminder to those who question religious leader s authority. Equally, Calvinists and the Catholic Church members used the horrific tactic or burning individuals alive to prove their viewpoints. It was normal during the 1500s. Temperature is a measurement of the average heat or thermal energy of the particles in a substance.1 Seawater is water that of course comes from an ocean or sea. Now Salinity is the total number of salt dissolved in water.2 Temperature is a major determining factor of global climate patterns. It affects the life cycles of plants and animals, influences weather and tides, and controls the freeze and thaw of the polar ice caps. A small change in average temperature can have powerful effects on the environment worldwide. Salinity helps us understand the health of a water body, and what animal and plant species we expect to find (or not find) there.3 Some animals tolerate changes in salinity well, and are found in both freshwater and salt water (eels, alewives, invasive Chinese Mitten Crabs). Others are healthy only when living within a certain range of salinity (oysters). Oceans are4 the lifeblood of planet Earth and humankind. They flow over nearly three quarters of our planet, and hold 97% of the planet s water. They produce more than half of the oxygen in the atmosphere, and absorb the most carbon from it.
