History Of Project MKULTRA
It was Wednesday August 3, 1977; the CIA went to court for being accused of forming a mind control research project called MKULTRA. The United
States government started the MKULTRA project to teach CIA agents how to avoid the use of mind control in other countries. Laura Knight–Jadczyk
said "Convinced that German scientists could help America's postwar efforts, President Harry Truman agreed in September 1946 to authorize "Project
Paperclip," a program to bring selected German scientists to work on America's behalf during to "Cold War"". President Truman brought German
scientists over to had start Project MKULTRA. If President Harry Truman hadn't ordered Project Paper–clip Project MKULTRA would have never
started, as reported by Lizzie... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
CIA agents would go to mental hospitals and prison tell people to come with them to get their drug they are addicted to. Stated by PDF page 3 "For
example heroin addicts were enticed into participating in LSD experiments in order to get a reward– heroin." Researchers would bribe imprisoned
people to gain willing test subjects in their experiments.
In a letter written by Admiral Stansfield Turner, Director ofCentral Intelligence Agency dated July 15, 1977, he disclosed a recent discovery of seven
boxes of documents related to Project MKULTRA. The CIA tried to cover up the evidence that MKULTRA ever existed they sent Seven boxes to

An Analysis Of SWOT Analysis
In the years of 1960 to 1970, Albert Humphrey an analysis technique called SWOT, stands for strength, weakness, opportunity and threat, he led a
research project in the Stanford university using some data from many famous companies, the idea was to find the reasons why corporate planning
failed and made major loses, the research resulted a number of key area and the tool used to explore each of the critical called SWOT, according to
Mike Morrison from his book (how to do a SWOT analysis ) "Humphrey and the original research team used the categories "what is good in the
present is satisfactory, good in the future is an opportunity; bad in the present is a fault and bad in the future is a threat." "[1]. SWOT is a process to
collect information about the organization that is helpful and useful to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the organization to open
opportunities and avoid threats. SWOT is an excellent technique to develop strategies and understanding for the organization or a situation and decision

Sp2750 Inc Case Study Summary
In Raef's search for viable project members, he was short on time and needed to figure out which of the 11 members he should choose. The most
important qualities that Raef should have been seeking were technical experience, capability to work efficiently in small teams, resonate for better
results, all the members with prior project experience, and find the most abstract minds that he could – to ensure multiple outstanding viewpoints. For
this project, it seems like all of the members should be innately interested in the progression of the project and be actively seeking ways to improve
and propel the productivity. The first person that would be selected is Elroy Bennett, who was the best suited candidate from the requirements and was

Another aspect to consider would be whether or not any of the potential candidates would be able to compromise on a solution or decision on what
should be done in the project, and if all of the members will be able to respect Raef's decisions.
The only biases in the case would be the pressure that Raef's manager Jonathon placed on him. The fact that Raef's manage was trying to influence his
decisions makes an obvious bias to who Raef might consider asking onto the team. The other would be selecting one person over another simply
because they had been with the company longer, which would suggest that only people who have been with the company would have the privilege of

Personal Statement Of Engineering In Electronics And...
It is no doubt that Engineering plays a vital role in our society. This is magnified in a time when the world is faced with so many significant problems
– climate change, population density – to name just two. It is for this reason that I am so excited about the prospect of studying Engineering,
especially at the point of so many major advances in technology, in AI and nanomaterials for example. In the future, I hope to help to lead these
advances and solve these problems.
My interest in building projects first started when I began studying Electronics in Year 9. I remember the joy I felt after making some Christmas
lights flash in different patterns. Though it was simple, seeing how I could genuinely make physical changes to my own home brought me great
pleasure. As I became more knowledgeable in Electronics and Engineering, I began building far more impressive projects. In Year 11, I assembled and
coded a quadcopter, for which I was awarded a CREST Gold award. During the course of Year 12, I made a facial recognition system using a
Raspberry Pi and open–source libraries. These projects have showed me the practical aspects of Engineering, particularly in how important it is to be
able to troubleshoot. [more detail] [A book quote, e.g. as X says in Y ; ''].
Another major project I have worked on recently involved building a suite of different LEDs that can have features such as its flicker rate and
intensity configured to a very precise level. This formed part of a larger research project investigating how animals react to types of light. The
project, done as part of a Nuffield Research Placement was very different to my previous ventures as it involved dozens of different people with a
wide range of skillsets. I found that this project developed not only my ability to work as a team [example], but also showed me how research works
at the PhD level.
Of course, I understand that Engineering is not just about building projects in the garage and I have been actively seeking to gain a more diverse
appreciation of what constitutes Engineering. I recently attended a four day Headstart course at Warwick University which proved to be an
enlightening experience because of the amount of new material that was covered,

Intern Project Essay
Projects
Intern Projects
Below I have compiled a quick list of all the projects that I worked on while I was at Garmin AT and my role in the project. All the proprietary
information has been removed so some details may be intentionally vague.
Major Projects
Flight Data Logging – Gathered flight data from many parts of the system in 1 second intervals. Built a page that would allow exporting of this data to
an SD card by the end user.
WAAS Data Logging– Gathered WAAS data as it was being sent to our system and stored the information in its own logs. Also allowed exporting of
this data to an SD card by the end user.
Dynamic Debug Page – I created the page to allow debugging messages from the system to be toggled on or off by ... Show more content on

Obstacle DB Integration – I wrote the requirements for the integration of the obstacle database for the system I was working on.
Mock up UI Options – The pages I created all had to be accessed from other pages. Because of this we had to do a review of how the pages would
look after I had changed them to ensure they still met Garmin standards. I had to adjust the size of some icons, text, and move buttons around. In many
cases I submitted multiple different possible layouts for the changed pages so that our UI team could pick the option that looked best.
Wiki Pages – Created a wiki page for new hires and interns on our team to show them how to use the GIT repo our team had. This shows how to get
it set up and how to use the features of GIT that were used on the team I was on.
Main Project Details
Probably the single best project that describes my internship is the data logging project. This was a project that I was given almost a month after I
started but also lasted until almost the end of my internship. This was also one of the largest projects I worked on that I can discuss in enough detail to
explain why it describes my internship.
This was a great project for any intern or new employee because of the amount of exposure that it gave to the codebase. It required pieces of many
different part of the Garmin libraries as there was a lot of information that went into the logs. Because of this, I had to gain more understanding

Review Of ' Mk Ultra Exposed ' All Across The World Wild '
MK–Ultra Exposed All across the world wild, stories of mind control have been a popular theme in comics, television, and books. Stories of coercion–
to do unspeakable things to themselves and loved ones– is present in many science fiction sources of entertainment. Scarily, it's not just fiction. Years
ago, conspiracies of the government conducting mind control experiments seemed to be a terrifying rumor. Recently, the public, including myself, has
learned that this not just a rumour. Money from the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) was being used to fund experiments to perform mind control.
People were becoming lab rats forced to do as the government wished. This terrifying reality was all happening under noses. Needless to say, this...

More information, such as why it became public, also seemed to be necessary. At first, my goal was to get a general understanding of the experiments.
Beginning with a simple search of MK–Ultra, I found much a lot information on my subject. Sadly, most of the information was blocked from the
school leading to a lot of at home studying on the topic. Studying dark government secrets did not seem to be a goal for Freeburg Community High
School's curriculum. Next came a surprisingly easy part, I had decide my overall goal of what I wanted to learn about MK–Ultra. However, it broke
down into two parts that, personally, seemed most important. First, I was curious on how the were able to successfully control another's mind. Second,
knowledge on the victims needed to be learned– such as why they were chosen, what tasks they did during mind control, and what became of them.
Finding stories of the victims was the most challenging since it was so heavily blocked. Furthermore, the internet had an abundance of information on
this topic. Many articles, book excerpts, and old newspaper pages helped me find what I needed. Unfortunately, a large portion of the articles were
simply articles stating that happened. Knowing that it had happened had no longer become my goal. My goal was to really understand how this
happened and what happened to the victims. Google had become like a teacher that answers every question but the one I

According to the World Bank, PPP broadly refers to arrangements, typically medium to long term, between the public and private sectors whereby
part of the services or works that fall under the responsibilities of the public sector are provided by the private sector, with clear agreement on shared
objectives for delivery of public infrastructure and/ or public services. PPP has the ability to link the expertise in the private sector and the control in the
public sector. PPP doesn't work for all the sectors and GCC must be careful in adopting PPP for their various projects. It can help to improve the
technology and national competitiveness by bringing in foreign companies with know–how and best practices. PPP will remove the expensive ... Show

Later the 4 projects were put on hold after the Ministry of Communications reviewed it and decided to bring it under the government purview. The
projects include metro and rail scheme and PTB had taken steps in preparing them for the private sector. If the ministry doesn't approve the project then
it would be a great blow to Kuwait which wants to attract private sector and new technology to the country. The metro and rail would become the
largest private sector projects if they get approved. The MPA (Mega Project Agency) designs and implements the infrastructure projects in Kuwait.
In 2008 a new BOT (Build–Operate–Transfer) law was passed as Kuwait recognized the requirement to attract foreign investors and start the
development plan. BOT is the method through which private sector would be involved in mega projects under the Kuwait development plan. The
new law was a model of PPP according to which, the private investors would build and operate for a fixed time frame and benefit from the revenue
streams. In Kuwait time frame was usually 20–40 years after which it would be transferred to the government. Despite all the optimism, the
government did not sign any BOT contracts and 31.4% projects or $61.2 billion worth of projects were held or called off. Promises by the ministers
and senior officials became a routine in the media with the private investors frustrated in investing. The main challenges facing private investment in

The General Overhead And Construction Projects Essay
In the past, the general overhead in construction projects was not important compared to project costs. However, with the new construction
environment and its changes such as the high usage of lean, BIM, and LEED, everything has changed. Nowadays, most of the construction contractors
are measuring their general overhead costs and trying to control it. To gain profits, they started to allocate their general overhead costs to different
construction projects they are working on. In this paper, we investigate how a construction company (general contractor) manages its general overhead
costs. Preceding this stage, we should provide few definitions of the general overhead costs in order to give readers a deep insight of what this paper is
about. Moreover, it is essential to explain how construction contractors allocate their general overhead costs to construction projects, what methods
they tend to use for allocating, and what advantages and disadvantages does every method have. Further, we shift our focus to activity–based costing
method by defining it and describing its steps. Since the main purpose of this paper is to examine how construction contractors deal with their general
overhead costs, an interview should be conducted to know how contractors allocate general overhead cost to construction projects to get profits. Indeed,
each construction contractor may use a specific method when allocating. Due to our interest in estimating, the interview was conducted with a senior

Essay about Christo and Jeanne-Claude: The Artists
Christo had once said "The work of art is a scream of freedom." Christo is a sculptor who had worked with his wife until her death in 2009. Christo
had financed all of his projects himself. He had raised money by selling small paintings he had created. But his main works of art were giant
wrappings of different things. His favorite wrappings were buildings or places seen everday by people. By wrapping these places he was giving them
a new identity. Christo has undertaken many projects. One of the most well known was of the wrapping of the Reichstag in Berlin. They used thick
woven polypropylene fabric with an aluminum surface which was 1,076,390 sq feet.
Also used 9.7 miles of rope. They only used recyclable materials as is the same for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 2007 and 2008, Christo and Jeanne–Claude contracted professors of engineering from Many different Universities feasibility studies about The
Mastaba.
The artists then hired the German engineering firm, to analyze these reports. They found a concept that was the most technically sound and innovative.
The entire substructure as well as the layer of barrels will be assembled flat on the ground. Ten elevation towers will make it possible to raise the entire
structure on rails to its final position. Another project that christo is still working on is the Running Fence. The Fence is 18 feet in height 24.5 miles
long it extends east to west near freeway 101, north of San Francisco on the private properties of 59 ranches following the rolling hills and dropping
down to the Pacific Ocean at Bodega Bay. The Running Fence was completed on September 10, 1976.
The art project consisted of 42 months and because it was a project that was not just in one are like most of Christo's the collaborative efforts the
ranchers' participation, 18 public hearings, three sessions at the Superior Courts of California, the drafting of a 450–page Environmental Impact Report
and the temporary use of the hills, the sky and the ocean. All expenses for the temporary work of art were paid by Christo and Jeanne–Claude through
the sale of studies, preparatory drawings and collages, scale models and original lithographs. The artists do not accept sponsorship of

Essay On How To Survive Middle School
So, you want to know how to survive middle school? Well I can help you. Being a middle school student, you pick up a couple tricks along the way.
Then sometimes you can even find or hear tips, now a lot of the tips and tricks usually come from a teacher, but you will discover some on your own
that will make Middle School a bit easier. Throughout my time as a middle school student, I have definitely found so many tips and tricks. Now some
tips and tricks are just plain sense, but you don't always utilize these tips.
How about we kickoff this essay with academics. Academics in Middle school are single handedly the most essential thing in middle school. Now we

Being organized will help you so much throughout middle school. The main reason to be organized is because it will make you feel less stressed.
Let's say you just stuff homework in your backpack when your backpack is already full of papers, then the next day you will have so much stress
rummaging through your backpack for a single paper. Being prepared is essential. I have seen many people get written up or even a detention
because they forgot a book. Time management is key in middle school. If you get homework from every class and it is all due the next day, don't do
it all at 10:00 PM, this is single handedly the worst thing you can do in middle school. Also don't procrastinate. Now this falls under the same category
as time management, but this usually has to do with projects, not homework, Let's say Mrs. Delucia gives you a project to do over Christmas break,
don't wait until the last weekend before we come back to school to do the whole science project, If you do two things will happen, one, you will
have a stress filled weekend and that is not good. Number two, you usually won't get a good grade on the project because you rushed the project that
was meant to be done over a span of two weeks, and you decided to do it in two

Project MK/Ultr Mind Control Experiment
Project MK/Ultra was a mind control experiment by the US Government. The CIA decided that using Lysergic acid diethylamide, LSD for short,
was a smart idea. So they decided to try and make people to be easier to "suggest" by getting them hopped up on the drug so that it would
emotionally cripple them. Though this might seem a little stupid, it does make some logical sense, but not ethical sense. If you can damage, or
destroy someone's mind to the point in which it reverts to a more suggestible state you can change the way they listen to you. Sort of like hypnosis,
but with more drugs. MK/Ultra was dedicated to programming the perfect sleeper agent. A sleeper agent is someone who is secretly a spy. The
sleeper agent was used by the Russians

The Cia Director Allen Dulled Sanctioned The Mkultra Program
When many Americans think about Germany, they think of the Nazis and the experiments they did with the Jews. However, what they are unfamiliar
with is that the U.S. government did the same thing. "It all started in the 50's during the Korean War." Concerned about the rumors of Communist
brainwashing of POWs, the CIA director Allen Dulled sanctioned the MKULTRA program in April 1953.
Project MKULTRA is one of the most famous
activities relating to the CIA's efforts toward mass mind control. There were many different tests conducted as a part of the project, including some
conducted on volunteers, inmates, and unsuspecting targets. (Wolfe 1)
It later became scandalously known for the many abnormal and sometimes inhumane experiments that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The most notorious MKULTRA experiments were the CIA is pioneering studies of the drug, which would later nourish the heads of millions:Lysergic
Acid Diethylamide, more frequently known as LSD. "The CIA was intrigued by it and harbored hopes that the acid or a similar drug could be used to
clandestinely disorient and maneuver target foreign leaders."The Agency would then consider several such schemes in its pursuit of the leader of
Cuba, Fidel Castro, who they wanted to send into a drug–induced stupor of tirade during a public or live radio speech. The Agency also views the drug
as a way to loosen up tongues in CIA interrogations. (Wolfe 1)
According to Evan Thomas the author of The Very Best Men, he describes Sidney Gottlieb, the Strangelovian scientist who ran the MKULTRA
project. "Born with a club foot and a stutter, he compensated by becoming an expert folk dancer and obtaining a PhD from Caltech. A pleasant man

Reflections on my Plant Engineering Summer Internship at United Parcel Service
Introduction
My Plant Engineering (PE) internship experience at United Parcel Service (UPS) allowed me to utilize all that I have learned at Florida Polytechnic
University and apply it to real–world work experience. Thus expanding upon my previous knowledge while simultaneously allowing me to grow in
new ways that cannot be taught in the classroom. Interning at UPS has helped highlight my fortes and flaws as not only an engineering student, but also
as a young adult entering the professional world. Through firsthand daily coaching and mentoring from senior engineers, I discovered that
communication is the key to being successful as an individual and as a team. Encouraging social cognizance provides a necessary balance within a
company.
Getting the Job An INROADS alumni told me about an organization called INROADS and encouraged me to go online and apply for their paid summer
internship program. INROADS is a non–profit company that focuses on "developing and placing talented underserved youth in business and industry,
and prepares them for corporate and community leadership (INROADS, 2011)." The organization is currently expanding their STEM program. So, my
Florida Polytechnic education along with their internship program was a great match. The program is highly selective with a rigorous application
process. Of more than 11,000 applicants just over 1,000 earn internships

Project Mkultra Unethical
The United States Central Intelligence Agency attempted to combat communism with mind–control. Although shocking in and of itself, the methods
with which it was done were much more radical: international codes violated, laws broken, and basic human rights disregarded. The illegal and
unethical nature of the project supplies reasonable cause for reprimands. Congress should punish the CIA for a series of inhumane experiments which
took place throughout the 1950's. The experiments in question are referred to as "Project MKUltra". They were put into place after alleged
mind–control techniques were performed on U.S. prisoners of war in Korea. The CIA desired similar methods to be applied on their own captives.
Furthermore, this was taking place... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

and unethical. What has been brought up hitherto has not yet addressed the illegality of Project MKUltra. As referenced previously, the basic human
rights of test subjects were violated. The focus of the CIA was too strong on combating communism for there to be any steps taken towards the
protection of the rights of those being experimented on. One may propose that although unethical, MKUltra holds no punishable offense. However, the
United States violated the UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights by torturing patients in the experiments, meaning there is reason for the CIA to

The, The And The Cia As A Mind Control Program
MK Ultra was a project formed by the CIA as a mind control program ("Project MKULTRA," 2016). This program implemented a new way to
interrogate by using torture and drugs such as marijuana and LSD ("Project MKULTRA," 2016). The reason for these tactics were to weaken the
individual so the agency could get a confession through mind control ("Id,"2016). Headed by Dr. Sidney Gottlieb, MK Ultra was started officially on
the order of CIA director Allen Welsh Dulles on April 13, 1953 ("Id,"2016). The goal was to develop mind
–controlling drugs for use against the Soviet
bloc in response to the allegations that North Korea, China, and the Soviet Union were already using techniques of mind control and torture on
prisoners of war ("Id,"2016).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although sometimes top officials at these institutions were aware of the CIA 's involvement, most often the CIA operated through these institutions
using front organizations ("Id,"2016). They also conducted business through other organizations by having subprojects ("Id,"2016). These projects
were the research that most did not know MK Ultra was driving ("Id,"2016). Some of these subcontracts were also through colleges ("Id,"2016).
Project MK Ultra was first brought to public attention by anonymous tips ("Id,"2016). Because of those tips, in 1975 the Church Committee of the
U.S. Congress and Gerald Ford began to investigate CIA activities within the United States ("Id,"2016). Investigative efforts were initially hampered
by the fact that CIA Director Richard Helms ordered all MK Ultra files destroyed in 1973; however, the Church Committee and Rockefeller
Commission investigations relied on both the sworn testimony of direct participants and on the relatively small number of documents that survived
Helms ' destruction order ("Id,"2016). "One 1955 MK Ultra document gives an indication of the size and range of the effort; this document refers to the
study of an assortment of mind–altering substances" ("Id,"2016). Obviously enough information survived or else we still wouldn't know about these
experiments today. Once Project MK Ultra officially got underway in April 1953, experiments

Big Dig Research Paper
The Central Artery/Tunnel Project, also known as the Big Dig, is one of the most expensive, technically challenging, and largest public projects in
American history. The Big Dig was a super–project that was created to reroute the "Central Artery of Interstate 93, the main roadway through the core
of the city, into the 1.5 mile Thomas P. O'Neill Jr. Tunnel." The construction of the Big Dig "untangled the co

Massachusetts and resulted in a 62% decrease in vehicle hours of travel and reduced the afternoon peak hour by a massive 85.6%.
The highway planning of the Big Dig started in 1982 with the actual construction starting in 1991. The Big Dig was initially planned to be
finalized in 1998 with the estimated total cost of 2.8 billion (7.8 billion adjusted for inflation to today's dollar value) but due to cost overruns,
design flaws, criminal arrests and even one death the construction of the highway was delayed. After all the delays, the Big Dig was finally

countless unsuspecting American Citizens that were exposed to drugs, hypnosis, sensory deprivation, abuse and torture. Subjects that were least likely
to put up a fight were picked for the operation. Popular places and subjects were nursing homes, prisons, mental hospitals, homeless people, and drug
addicts. Over 44 different universities were involved in the operation. Doctor Sidney Gottlieb was chosen to lead the program when it officially began
in 1953. The US started mind control experiments, torture, and brainwashing programs after reports that the Chinese and North Koreans were testing
techniques on prisoners of war in WWII. The CIA was authorized to commit 6% of of their entire operating budget on MKUltra with no guidelines or

Psychedelics Essay
The use of psychedelics for Spiritual purposes, etc.
"Psychoactive substances exert their their effects by modifying biochemical or physiological processes in the brain." Psychedelics are taken out of
context to be for recreational use only, when they can be taken to enhance spiritual journeys. Psychedelics have been used for spiritual journeys and
religious rituals for thousands of years. Ancient Egyptians have used the "Blue Lotus" by putting it in their wine for recreational use. The flower was
also used during religious ceremonies. Higher beings are seen when the plant is inhaled. The plant's psychedelic effect is powerful enough to invoke
"Egyptian gods". It isn't a coincidence that Ancient Egyptians drew "Gods" om vases and inside the catacombs. These symbols containing "Winged
Gods" can be seen maybe by inhaling the Blue Lotus.
How could a scientist who's never experienced the effects of a psychedelic say they know the effects, they truly know nothing of the topic. It's not

unsuspecting victims. The agency went to extreme lengths to develop a drug that could be used as a "truth serum." Project MKUltra was driven by

Clyfford Still Museum Case Study
Introduction This document breaks down some of the financial information that was accessible for the Clyfford Still Museum. Much of this
information was gathered during an interview conducted at the beginning of the year for another assignment, however it was incredibly applicable
here for this assignment as well. This document also briefly touches on the museum expenses as well as its attempt at and donation solicitation.
Finances The Clyfford Still is a unique organization in many ways. It is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and generally operates like a normal
501(c)(3), asides from the security provided by the Clyfford Still Museum Foundation. The Clyfford Still Museum Foundation is also classified as a
501(c)(3) nonprofit. This governing body has its own board of directors separate from the board of the museum itself. According to the museum's
Director of Marketing John Eding, the idea of a separate organization managing the endowment has allowed the Clyfford Still Museum to always
operate without a deficit (Eding 2018). This organization for this cultural is reminiscent of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, even without that data it can be said with relative confidence that the Clyfford Still Museum Foundation is by far the largest contributor to
the organization. Even if 100% of the $720,000 earned through gifts to museum between January and October was patron generated, 69.44% of The
Clyfford Still Museum's revenue would still be non–patron generated (Eding 2018). As noted in The Week 5 presentation, an endowment can be the
vital life line supporting an organization. That is certainly the case for the Clyfford Still Museum, which wouldn't be able to function without the

Project Kutra Research Paper
For the last few decades there has been a war going on, not a war of bullets or missiles but a war of ideas and control. A group of individuals wishes
nothing more than to control the world's population and resources. It all started with Project MKULTRA. Project MKULTRA was started in the 1950s
by the United States Government to study the psychological states of a human in different situations and environments and whether or not a human
could be programmed or controlled– it has come much farther than a few studies and experiments however, and is used today to control world politics,
influence the ideology of the masses through media and controlled celebrities, produce Manchurian candidates (humans with alternate personalities

One of the subprojects was Operation Midnight Climax, in San Francisco, Marin and New York in which there were set ups to "study the effects of
LSD on non–consenting individuals" (Oliver 9). Another subproject led by Dr. Ewan Cameron Allen was a set of experiments designed to
"depattern" and reconstruct someone's mind to his will. Allen would place people into a drug induced coma for up to 88 days and would shock them
up to 360 times per person. The "doctor" would then put specialized helmets on individuals that was blackened and adapted for sensory deprivation.
Allen would then play a recorded statement repeatedly for up to 20 hours a day; he would also keep people in isolation and sensory deprivation
chambers for weeks. "Many subprojects included the goal of a Manchurian candidate, and to reach this goal the scientists would induce trauma to the
subject to help control them" (Manchurian–1). The experimenters would induce trauma in many different ways including: torture, exposure to horrible
treatment methods, and some experiments went as far as children being locked in a cage and beaten and raped by monkeys, drink their own urine or
feces, and raped by their own family members (Cherif 8). There was one reported experiment involving Holmesburg Prison; between 1964 and 1968,
the US military paid $286,486 to 2 scientists,

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Intermodal...
Intermodal steel shipping containers have been put to use for various things when they no longer cross the high seas. Generally retired shipping
containers are used as storage containers or are turn into building construction site mobile offices. A current trend gaining strength in the architectural
community is transforming steel intermodal containers into the basis for homes and light business construction applications.
Fortunes of a construction development using an innovative approach are influenced by the research done at the front end of the project. Here we will
take a look at the advantages and disadvantages of implementing shipping containers as part of your building.

The intermodals will examine containers and condemn them if broken welds, twisted frames, or pin holes are identified. For use in construction, some
issues could be less significant than others.
Handling
The size and weight of the containers will require them to be placed by the crane or forklift. Traditional brick block and lumber construction materials
are commonly moved by hand
Chemicals
A container can hold a wide variety of freight while in its working life. Spills or contamination might have happened on the inside surfaces and will
have to be cleaned before habitation. Ideally, the paint on every internal surface should be removed to bare metal and re–painted with a non–toxic paint
product. In addition, chemicals released from paint and sealants used in manufacture of the shipping container might be harmful.
Temperature & Humidity Extremes
Steel is a conductor of heat. Containers used for human occupancy in an area with extreme temperature variations will need to be better insulated than
most brick, block or wood structures. In temperate climates, moist interior air condenses against the steel; rust will form unless the steel is well sealed
and insulated.

Project MK-Ultra During The Cold War
During the Cold War, illegal scientific research on humans was conducted by the CIA , known as project MK
–Ultra. Some evidence indicates that
Project MK–Ultra would use many different methods to manipulate an individual's brain functions, including the use of drugs, such as LSD,
hypnotics, and some reports show radiological and biological agents. In 1973, Richard Helms, the director of the CIA, ordered all of the documents
and records from project MK–Ultra to be destroyed. Several deaths are associated with Project MK–Ultra, the most known is that of Frank Olson.
Olson was a United States Army biochemist and biological weapons researcher. He was given large amounts LSD without his consent in November
1953, and died under "suspicious conditions" a week later. In November 2012, Frank Olson's family filed a law suit against the U.S. federal
government for the wrongful death of Frank Olson. The family won the lawsuit, and received an unknown settlement. ... Show more content on

Congress. In 1977, a FOIA request discovered a collection of 20,000 records connected to project MK–Ultra, which led to the Senate Hearings of 1977.
In 1975, the Church Committee, that was headed by Senator Frank Church, and a commission headed by Vice President Nelson Rockefeller
investigated the project. They found that for over two decades, the CIA spent nearly Twenty million dollars, requested the services of researchers at
more than 30 different universities and conducted experiments on multiple subjects without their knowledge. Some of the research and testing was
performed in Canada. Some historians might argue that the goal of the program was to create a mind–control system with which the CIA could
'program' people to perform assassinations without their knowledge. Recently, most of the information regarding the project has been officially

Risk Factors
The following 5 risks have been identified as being material to the project. Listed is a detailed analysis of those risks.
Risk 1)
Description of Risk – The project does not get funded.
Cause – Senior management determines that it cannot fund the project.
Likelihood of Occurrence – The likelihood of occurrence is considered low. Senior management initially commissioned the project. This was done to
address risks related to the current remote connectivity and the corresponding corporate goals of expansion.
Severity of Impact – The severity of the impact is considered high. The project would be delayed or eliminated and the current risk to the organization
would increase as expansion plans were implemented.
Risk Response – A presentation... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The information for sizing the server infrastructure is gathered from existing server utilization for the applications supported. The amount of servers
selected for implementing the environment is based on projected cpu and memory needs to support the users. As part of projecting resource needs,
allowances are made for variances in versions of system hardware.
Severity of Impact – The severity of the impact is considered medium. If user application performance is negatively affected, the users will not be able
to meet their daily expected workload. In other words, users will not be able to complete their assigned tasks timely.
Risk Response – This issue can be mitigated by deploying additional server resources to support the end users. To improve performance, a group of
users would be moved back to the original vpn access until the performance of the published applications is considered acceptable. At that point the
amount of additional server resources needed can be projected and deployed to support the total user load. Once these additional server resources have
been deployed, migration of users back to the published application environment can be resumed until all users have been

O Ahu Case Study
The rail that is currently being built on the island of Oahu is still under construction and is experiencing an 18 months delay due to lawsuits and cost
overruns. The last thing that this island needs right now is another thing that contributes to the heavy traffic. The rail project has been in motion for
quite some time now but there is still little to no evidence of it completing any time soon. The reasons why the rail has not yet to finished is because
of fiscal issues and decrease of values.
The rail that is still under construction is becoming a problem on the island of O'ahu, especially to taxpayers that continue to struggle because of the
high taxes."The project was initially projected to cost $4.6 billion, but that number now is $6.7 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of an elevated railway, HART should have considered a ground–level train that could avoid further destroying the aesthetic value of the island
and possibly shave millions of dollars off the cost of the project, and that could have allowed the city to build a longer train system(Hao). "While it
is understandable why an elevated system might be utilized in rural areas of the transportation corridor ... a host of adverse economic and
environmental impacts are associated with an elevated guideway system, including noise, reduced visibility and access to businesses, visual blight,
and increased crime," Kamehameha Schools wrote the city. Kamehameha Schools is the largest land owner on the island and is concerned about
the impact the rail will have on the island not just for the value of the land but the value of their religious beliefs. "We feel we have a kuleana to

is a big deal. In their religious beliefs, the land in a way is a part of their family and family should not be harmed in any way. The elevated railway
could also lead to less tenant interest, higher tenant turnover, and reduced property values. Because of the unsightly and noisy rail, the value of
properties and tenants for apartments would drop

Electrocution Occupational Hazard
Electrocution as an occupational hazard isn't limited to electricians. According to OSHA, electrocution is responsible for one of every ten deaths in
the construction industry. This commonly happens when a ladder or the worker on it accidentally contacts a power line. This occurs in a number of
ways such as: A ladder contacts a power line while it is lifted into place, moved sideways, or taken down. A ladder on unstable ground topples onto
power lines. Ladders displace other conductive objects such as antennas onto power lines. Workers on ladders accidentally contact power lines while
using a long–handled tool. Because power lines are invariably near roads, houses, and buildings, construction workers of all kinds must exercise caution

Argumentative Essay On Drugs
Truth Serums have been widely used as a so–called "zombie drug" in many articles. In the 1920s, Robert House, a doctor from Texas, identified the
drug as a means to extract information. In the next epoch, barbiturates including sodium amytal and sodium pentothal were introduced. Many feel that
in the light of the sudden growth of crime in the world, these drugs should be used as an identification element in criminal investigation just like how
the former CIA officials and Indian Judicial officials utilized it. However, Advocates strongly oppose the idea to enforce such method on the public.
Both sides believe they are in the right and the other is wrong, but the point still remains that this so–called truth serum is a drug that should not be used
in any situation.
The way truth serums act is like any psychoactive drugs used to obtain information from those unable and unwilling to do so; it causes people to
become uninhibited and talkative. "In 1922, it occurred to Robert House, a Dallas, Texas, obstetrician, that a similar technique might be employed in
the interrogation of suspected criminals, and he arranged to interview under scopolamine two prisoners in the Dallas county jail whose guilt seemed
clearly confirmed. Under the drug, both men denied the charges on which they were held; and both, upon trial, were found not guilty. Enthusiastic at
this success, House concluded that a patient under the influence of scopolamine "cannot create a lie ... and there is no power to

One of the first steps involved in carrying out a preliminary investigation include understanding the problem or opportunity in sight. The analyst must
first identify which department, users and business processes the system request is involved in to evaluate and assess the causes and effects related in
the proposed system. Defining the project scope and constraints is the second step. With clear indications of the projects boundaries or extent the
project scope is determined, while the requirements or conditions the system must confer to or achieve determine the projects constraints. The third
step in a preliminary investigation consists of fact finding techniques, that involve the analyses of charts, interviews with users, managers and review of

Coraline Movie Analysis
Camlyn Lewis
Megan Green
GSW 1110
31 Oct. 2017
Coraline and MK–ULTRA The movie Coraline is about Monarch Programming– project MK–Ultra. MK–Ultra was a mind control program created by
the CIA. It basically works by submitting the subject to extreme torture to create a second personality, which can be triggered at any time to perform
any action required by the handler. This was shown a lot in the movie "Captain America: Civil War" with the character Bucky Barnes, who was turned
into a slave through MK–Ultra. The movie Coraline is about a young girl, sharing the name of the film, who is neglected by her family and finds a
portal in her new home to a fictional world where her parents have buttons for eyes and spend all of their time on her and love her unconditionally.
(SPOILERS) Everything is basically backwards and better in this world. In the end it turns out her "other mother" wanted to take her eyes and kill her
to retain her youth. Coraline escapes from her other mother and all is well. The opening scene of the movie is essentially a symbolic summary of the
entire mind control process. It starts with a creepy metal hand and a doll of a little girl. The hand obviously representing the handler, and the doll the
subject. First the clothes are removed with scissors, referencing abuse. Then the hair is ripped from the doll's head, a form of very traumatic torture.
Then the eyes are ripped out of the doll, which is a very large symbol of MK–Ultra type

City of Niceville 2016 Stormwater Master Plan Addendum
The 2016 Stormwater Master Plan is an overview and summary of the City of Niceville's Stormwater Management Program and will serve as an
addendum to the existing Stormwater Master Plan. This document will provide a summary of the progress the City has made to address the water
quantity and quality issues as they relate to stormwater runoff. It will identify the past stormwater projects and drainage activities the City has under
taken as a result of previous assessments, studies and recommendations to improve the efficiency and functionality of the City's stormwater systems to
minimize the adverse environmental impacts of stormwater runoff. This document also includes the Capital Improvement Element which comprises a
list of the drainage improvement projects that identify the future goals and objectives of the City's Stormwater Management Program. The City
Council's approval of this Stormwater Master Plan Addendum and the Capital Improvements Plan will become the framework for accomplishing these
goals and objectives.
Background
Beginning in the late 1990's the city realized the importance of stormwater management and initiated the necessary steps to identify and minimalize the
adverse effects of inadequate drainage infrastructure. Although the city had adopted stormwater regulations for new development, older developments
and roadways in the city were not regulated prior to 1984 and many of those drainage systems

The Unbelievable, Unethical CIA Mind Control Experiments
The Unbelievable, Unethical CIA Mind Control Experiments
The CIA's, the Central Intelligence Agency, duty is to provide national intelligence to U.S President and officials. The CIA created a top secret
experiment to try and control people's mind. According to the CIA's file, "MK–ULTRA/Mind Control Experiments", which started in 1953 and
continued to 1964. The main goal for this project was to to brainwash people and reprogram their minds. At first, the CIA denied of doing such thing,
but later on admitted that they have done mind control experiments on nonvoluntary people. Although, they said that they have stopped completely
since then. If the CIA has done brutal experiments like MK–Ultra, what other experiments have they done on people without their consents? Are we
sure that the CIA discontinued with MK–Ultra like they said? The CIA used LSD to brainwash people, which has disastrous effects on people's health.
This experiment was truly wrong, unnecessary, and unconstitutional.
The CIA were influenced by other countries to experiment on brainwashing people but resulted in the agency to making unethical decisions. In the
article, "Project Mkultra: One of the Most Shocking CIA Programs of All Time", Melissa explains that, "The motivation was also defensive, in that
many were afraid during the Cold War that the Russians and Chinese had already developed weapons in this area." The CIA realized that this technique
could possibly be very beneficial towards our country, and wanted to understand this process before other countries. With this tactic, the CIA thought
they could use brainwashing to their advantage and also create manchurian candidates. In the article, "The Secret Montreal Experiments They Don't
Want You To Know About," D'Alimonte defines Manchurian Candidate as, "double agents, or super soldiers, who had been psychologically altered to
fulfill a function, then forget it ever happened, thus making interrogation impossible." The CIA wanted to create Manchurian Candidates so they could
do all of their dirty work. It is truly wrong how the CIA thought that committing crimes or doing illegal tasks using Manchurian Candidates was
perfectly okay. According to the Youtube video, "MK ULTRA (History Channel

Project Mkultra Project
Recently during our class period, I did a group project with several classmates on a topic that is rather unheard of. The topic we discussed during our
class period was called Project MKUltra. Project MKUltra was a project created by the CIA. The CIA did illegal experiments on numerous human
subjects from the United States and Canada in order to develop drugs, such as LSD, in order "to be used in interrogations and torture, in order to
weaken the individual to for confessions through mind control" ("CIA MKUltra Collection"). The project began in the early 1950s and did not come
to an end until 1973 and involved several organizations. Project MKUltra began in the 1950s and "was officially sanctioned in 1953" ("CIA MKUltra
Collection"). The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bringing MKUltra to the public's attention also caused the project to come to a close and to be a failure. The project is not well known across the
world, and the CIA was not successful with using various drugs such as LSD to interrogate, disable, or kill any of their enemies during the cold war.
The only repercussions of MKUltra is the amount of lives that were lost and affected by taking various drugs. This project also helped the CIA
improve overtime with their projects to make them better. The CIA also learned that they need consent from human subjects to be able to run
experiments on them, which may have led them to having less lawsuits. Lastly, it was found that we may never know all the details about project
MKUltra because of documents being destroyed in 1973 and not having enough data and evidence that was

Essay on Sustainability at EastLink Engineering Project
Sustainability, which is the definition of "the process of using, conserving and enhancing a community's resources", plays a significant part in large
engineering projects such as EastLink. EastLink's long–term goal is to provide a fast, lasting alternative for drivers to commute between eastern
suburbs. For a project that had a final total cost of $2.5B, sustainability, that is ensuring that its relevance and usefulness to the society today and for the
foreseeable future is a pivotal part of EastLink. Permanent projects that demand large commitment and resources are the ones that need to heed the
concept of sustainability the most, as often there is no going back once construction of such a project has begun. Just like it is with... Show more content

Two significant decisions that have affected the EastLink project are firstly, the decision to develop EastLink as a tollway and secondly, an
environmental issue involving potential damage that would be caused to the nearby Mullum Mullum Valley.
EastLink was a multibillion–dollar project, and its funding stemmed primarily from the Federal government, however as the project progressed, the
Victorian Government switched to the stance that the EastLink project was no longer viable as a toll free road which subsequently led to the
termination of the partial Federal government funding for EastLink. The Federal government's reasoning being that it would only provide support
and funding for projects that were toll free, hence the Victorian Government's initial promise. The Victorian Government's decision to have EastLink
be a tolled motorway is one influenced by the operating and development costs of such a large civil project and is largely motivated by the financial
return of such a project. These concerns were later shown as EastLink made a loss of nearly $93M in its first six months of operation, the largest
reason being that being a tolled motorway, it would not attract as many motorists than it would've being a toll free road.
The second decision arose over the planning of the layout of EastLink, namely over the extent of environmental damage that would be caused

Construction Of The Construction Project Essay
1.
Cost: when we are looking at the cost of the construction project we have to look through and have to consider all the stages of the design and the
construction project this is part of the specification. It is very important to have the cost estimator involved right from the start of the project to ensure
that the project budget reflects the decisions made by the project construction team throughout the integrated the design process.
2.
Quality standard and legislation: quality is the part of the contractor manager to ensure that products and service comply with requirements. It is a work
method that facilitates the measurement of the quality characteristics of a unit, compares them with the established standards, the analyses the
differences between the results obtained and the desired results in order to make decisions which will correct any differences. The legislation is the
rules that are set on the construction project. Rules apply to projects in parts to prevent clients from avoiding the requirements of the regulations by
simply dividing projects up.
3.
Health and safety issues: if you want to make sure everyone is safe on a construction site you have to sensibly plan the work so the risks involved
are managed from start to finish. You have to have the right people for the job to make sure everyone is safe. Have the right information about the
risks and how they are being managed and lastly consult and engage with workers about the risks and how they are

What Is Ultra's Role In Ww2
ULTRA was a code name for information collected from enemy signals during World War II. Brigadier Bill Williams, a top British intelligence adviser,
credited ULTRA with providing the military with intelligence that would ensure defeat of the Germans. Though this claim is an exaggeration, ULTRA
certainly was an important factor in the triumph of the Allies over the Germans and Italians ("Axis") during World War II. The insight it provided into
the Axis' strategies and plans played an important role in battles on water, land, and in the air. The existence of ULTRA allowed for the British to curb
the continued domination of the Germans across Europe by using their own communication system against them. ULTRA played a vital role in Allied

ULTRA not only informed the Allies of the Axis's fuel and ammunition shortages, it also allowed for the Allies to further disrupt the Axis oil
industry. The extreme effectiveness of the bombing campaign of the oil industry was having on German military forces was relayed to the Allied
forces through ULTRA. ULTRA also supplied the Allies with the information that the oil and ammunition shortages were not limited to a section of
German forces but existed throughout all of them. A specific example of the Allies exploitation of this information was during the struggle for
domination of the air over Sicily. During this time ULTRA helped Allied forces locate Axis forces on the airfields in Sicily and southern Italy. The
exploitation of Axis' weaknesses were possible with the help of ULTRA intercepts. ULTRA evened the playing field between the smaller British air
force and the Luftwaffe, almost double the size of the British force during World War II. Air Marshal Arthur Tedder concluded that "air superiority is
a condition for all operations, at sea, in land, and in the air" and ULTRA certainly aided in the British's fight for that

History Of Project MKULTRA

  • 1. History Of Project MKULTRA It was Wednesday August 3, 1977; the CIA went to court for being accused of forming a mind control research project called MKULTRA. The United States government started the MKULTRA project to teach CIA agents how to avoid the use of mind control in other countries. Laura Knight–Jadczyk said "Convinced that German scientists could help America's postwar efforts, President Harry Truman agreed in September 1946 to authorize "Project Paperclip," a program to bring selected German scientists to work on America's behalf during to "Cold War"". President Truman brought German scientists over to had start Project MKULTRA. In a letter written by Admiral Stansfield Turner, Director ofCentral Intelligence Agency dated July 15, 1977, he disclosed a recent discovery of seven boxes of documents related to Project MKULTRA. An Analysis Of SWOT Analysis In the years of 1960 to 1970, Albert Humphrey an analysis technique called SWOT, stands for strength, weakness, opportunity and threat, he led a research project in the Stanford university using some data from many famous companies, the idea was to find the reasons why corporate planning failed and made major loses, the research resulted a number of key area and the tool used to explore each of the critical called SWOT, according to Mike Morrison from his book (how to do a SWOT analysis ) "Humphrey and the original research team used the categories "what is good in the present is satisfactory, good in the future is an opportunity; bad in the present is a fault and bad in the future is a threat." • 3. Sp2750 Inc Case Study Summary In Raef's search for viable project members, he was short on time and needed to figure out which of the 11 members he should choose. The most important qualities that Raef should have been seeking were technical experience, capability to work efficiently in small teams, resonate for better results, all the members with prior project experience, and find the most abstract minds that he could – to ensure multiple outstanding viewpoints. For this project, it seems like all of the members should be innately interested in the progression of the project and be actively seeking ways to improve and propel the productivity. Another aspect to consider would be whether or not any of the potential candidates would be able to compromise on a solution or decision on what should be done in the project, and if all of the members will be able to respect Raef's decisions. The only biases in the case would be the pressure that Raef's manager Jonathon placed on him. The fact that Raef's manage was trying to influence his decisions makes an obvious bias to who Raef might consider asking onto the team. The other would be selecting one person over another simply because they had been with the company longer, which would suggest that only people who have been with the company would have the privilege of working on a major ... • 4. Personal Statement Of Engineering In Electronics And... It is no doubt that Engineering plays a vital role in our society. This is magnified in a time when the world is faced with so many significant problems – climate change, population density – to name just two. It is for this reason that I am so excited about the prospect of studying Engineering, especially at the point of so many major advances in technology, in AI and nanomaterials for example. In the future, I hope to help to lead these advances and solve these problems. My interest in building projects first started when I began studying Electronics in Year 9. I remember the joy I felt after making some Christmas lights flash in different patterns. Though it was simple, seeing how I could genuinely make physical changes to my own home brought me great pleasure. As I became more knowledgeable in Electronics and Engineering, I began building far more impressive projects. In Year 11, I assembled and coded a quadcopter, for which I was awarded a CREST Gold award. During the course of Year 12, I made a facial recognition system using a Raspberry Pi and open–source libraries. These projects have showed me the practical aspects of Engineering, particularly in how important it is to be able to troubleshoot. [more detail] [A book quote, e.g. as X says in Y ; '']. Another major project I have worked on recently involved building a suite of different LEDs that can have features such as its flicker rate and intensity configured to a very precise level. This formed part of a larger research project investigating how animals react to types of light. The project, done as part of a Nuffield Research Placement was very different to my previous ventures as it involved dozens of different people with a wide range of skillsets. I found that this project developed not only my ability to work as a team [example], but also showed me how research works at the PhD level. Of course, I understand that Engineering is not just about building projects in the garage and I have been actively seeking to gain a more diverse appreciation of what constitutes Engineering. I recently attended a four day Headstart course at Warwick University which proved to be an enlightening experience because of the amount of new material that was covered, ... • 5. Intern Project Essay Projects Intern Projects Below I have compiled a quick list of all the projects that I worked on while I was at Garmin AT and my role in the project. All the proprietary information has been removed so some details may be intentionally vague. Major Projects Flight Data Logging – Gathered flight data from many parts of the system in 1 second intervals. Built a page that would allow exporting of this data to an SD card by the end user. WAAS Data Logging– Gathered WAAS data as it was being sent to our system and stored the information in its own logs. Also allowed exporting of this data to an SD card by the end user. Obstacle DB Integration – I wrote the requirements for the integration of the obstacle database for the system I was working on. Mock up UI Options – The pages I created all had to be accessed from other pages. Because of this we had to do a review of how the pages would look after I had changed them to ensure they still met Garmin standards. I had to adjust the size of some icons, text, and move buttons around. In many cases I submitted multiple different possible layouts for the changed pages so that our UI team could pick the option that looked best. Wiki Pages – Created a wiki page for new hires and interns on our team to show them how to use the GIT repo our team had. This shows how to get it set up and how to use the features of GIT that were used on the team I was on. Main Project Details Probably the single best project that describes my internship is the data logging project. This was a project that I was given almost a month after I started but also lasted until almost the end of my internship. This was also one of the largest projects I worked on that I can discuss in enough detail to explain why it describes my internship.
  • 6. This was a great project for any intern or new employee because of the amount of exposure that it gave to the codebase. It required pieces of many different part of the Garmin libraries as there was a lot of information that went into the logs. Because of this, I had to gain more understanding ... • 7. Review Of ' Mk Ultra Exposed ' All Across The World Wild ' MK–Ultra Exposed All across the world wild, stories of mind control have been a popular theme in comics, television, and books. Stories of coercion– to do unspeakable things to themselves and loved ones– is present in many science fiction sources of entertainment. Scarily, it's not just fiction. Years ago, conspiracies of the government conducting mind control experiments seemed to be a terrifying rumor. Recently, the public, including myself, has learned that this not just a rumour. Money from the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) was being used to fund experiments to perform mind control. People were becoming lab rats forced to do as the government wished. This terrifying reality was all happening under noses. Needless to say, this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... More information, such as why it became public, also seemed to be necessary. At first, my goal was to get a general understanding of the experiments. Beginning with a simple search of MK–Ultra, I found much a lot information on my subject. Sadly, most of the information was blocked from the school leading to a lot of at home studying on the topic. Studying dark government secrets did not seem to be a goal for Freeburg Community High School's curriculum. Next came a surprisingly easy part, I had decide my overall goal of what I wanted to learn about MK–Ultra. However, it broke down into two parts that, personally, seemed most important. First, I was curious on how the were able to successfully control another's mind. Second, knowledge on the victims needed to be learned– such as why they were chosen, what tasks they did during mind control, and what became of them. Finding stories of the victims was the most challenging since it was so heavily blocked. Furthermore, the internet had an abundance of information on this topic. Many articles, book excerpts, and old newspaper pages helped me find what I needed. Unfortunately, a large portion of the articles were simply articles stating that happened. Knowing that it had happened had no longer become my goal. My goal was to really understand how this happened and what happened to the victims. According to the World Bank, PPP broadly refers to arrangements, typically medium to long term, between the public and private sectors whereby part of the services or works that fall under the responsibilities of the public sector are provided by the private sector, with clear agreement on shared objectives for delivery of public infrastructure and/ or public services. PPP has the ability to link the expertise in the private sector and the control in the public sector. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Later the 4 projects were put on hold after the Ministry of Communications reviewed it and decided to bring it under the government purview. The projects include metro and rail scheme and PTB had taken steps in preparing them for the private sector. If the ministry doesn't approve the project then it would be a great blow to Kuwait which wants to attract private sector and new technology to the country. The metro and rail would become the largest private sector projects if they get approved. The MPA (Mega Project Agency) designs and implements the infrastructure projects in Kuwait. In 2008 a new BOT (Build–Operate–Transfer) law was passed as Kuwait recognized the requirement to attract foreign investors and start the development plan. BOT is the method through which private sector would be involved in mega projects under the Kuwait development plan. The new law was a model of PPP according to which, the private investors would build and operate for a fixed time frame and benefit from the revenue streams. In Kuwait time frame was usually 20–40 years after which it would be transferred to the government. Despite all the optimism, the government did not sign any BOT contracts and 31.4% projects or $61.2 billion worth of projects were held or called off. Promises by the ministers and senior officials became a routine in the media with the private investors frustrated in investing. The main challenges facing private investment in ... • 9. The General Overhead And Construction Projects Essay In the past, the general overhead in construction projects was not important compared to project costs. However, with the new construction environment and its changes such as the high usage of lean, BIM, and LEED, everything has changed. Nowadays, most of the construction contractors are measuring their general overhead costs and trying to control it. To gain profits, they started to allocate their general overhead costs to different construction projects they are working on. In this paper, we investigate how a construction company (general contractor) manages its general overhead costs. Preceding this stage, we should provide few definitions of the general overhead costs in order to give readers a deep insight of what this paper is about. Moreover, it is essential to explain how construction contractors allocate their general overhead costs to construction projects, what methods they tend to use for allocating, and what advantages and disadvantages does every method have. Further, we shift our focus to activity–based costing method by defining it and describing its steps. Since the main purpose of this paper is to examine how construction contractors deal with their general overhead costs, an interview should be conducted to know how contractors allocate general overhead cost to construction projects to get profits. Indeed, each construction contractor may use a specific method when allocating. Due to our interest in estimating, the interview was conducted with a senior ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

His favorite wrappings were buildings or places seen everday by people. By wrapping these places he was giving them a new identity. Christo has undertaken many projects. One of the most well known was of the wrapping of the Reichstag in Berlin. They used thick woven polypropylene fabric with an aluminum surface which was 1,076,390 sq feet. The entire substructure as well as the layer of barrels will be assembled flat on the ground. Ten elevation towers will make it possible to raise the entire structure on rails to its final position. Then sometimes you can even find or hear tips, now a lot of the tips and tricks usually come from a teacher, but you will discover some on your own that will make Middle School a bit easier. Throughout my time as a middle school student, I have definitely found so many tips and tricks. Now some tips and tricks are just plain sense, but you don't always utilize these tips. How about we kickoff this essay with academics. Academics in Middle school are single handedly the most essential thing in middle school. The main reason to be organized is because it will make you feel less stressed. Let's say you just stuff homework in your backpack when your backpack is already full of papers, then the next day you will have so much stress rummaging through your backpack for a single paper. Being prepared is essential. I have seen many people get written up or even a detention because they forgot a book. Time management is key in middle school. If you get homework from every class and it is all due the next day, don't do it all at 10:00 PM, this is single handedly the worst thing you can do in middle school. Also don't procrastinate. Now this falls under the same category as time management, but this usually has to do with projects, not homework, Let's say Mrs. Delucia gives you a project to do over Christmas break, don't wait until the last weekend before we come back to school to do the whole science project, If you do two things will happen, one, you will have a stress filled weekend and that is not good. • 12. Project MK/Ultr Mind Control Experiment Project MK/Ultra was a mind control experiment by the US Government. The CIA decided that using Lysergic acid diethylamide, LSD for short, was a smart idea. So they decided to try and make people to be easier to "suggest" by getting them hopped up on the drug so that it would emotionally cripple them. Though this might seem a little stupid, it does make some logical sense, but not ethical sense. If you can damage, or destroy someone's mind to the point in which it reverts to a more suggestible state you can change the way they listen to you. Sort of like hypnosis, but with more drugs. However, what they are unfamiliar with is that the U.S. government did the same thing. "It all started in the 50's during the Korean War." Concerned about the rumors of Communist brainwashing of POWs, the CIA director Allen Dulled sanctioned the MKULTRA program in April 1953. Project MKULTRA is one of the most famous activities relating to the CIA's efforts toward mass mind control. Reflections on my Plant Engineering Summer Internship at United Parcel Service Introduction My Plant Engineering (PE) internship experience at United Parcel Service (UPS) allowed me to utilize all that I have learned at Florida Polytechnic University and apply it to real–world work experience. Thus expanding upon my previous knowledge while simultaneously allowing me to grow in new ways that cannot be taught in the classroom. Interning at UPS has helped highlight my fortes and flaws as not only an engineering student, but also as a young adult entering the professional world. Through firsthand daily coaching and mentoring from senior engineers, I discovered that communication is the key to being successful as an individual and as a team. Encouraging social cognizance provides a necessary balance within a company. Getting the Job An INROADS alumni told me about an organization called INROADS and encouraged me to go online and apply for their paid summer internship program. INROADS is a non–profit company that focuses on "developing and placing talented underserved youth in business and industry, and prepares them for corporate and community leadership (INROADS, 2011)." Although shocking in and of itself, the methods with which it was done were much more radical: international codes violated, laws broken, and basic human rights disregarded. The illegal and unethical nature of the project supplies reasonable cause for reprimands. Congress should punish the CIA for a series of inhumane experiments which took place throughout the 1950's. This program implemented a new way to interrogate by using torture and drugs such as marijuana and LSD ("Project MKULTRA," 2016). The reason for these tactics were to weaken the individual so the agency could get a confession through mind control ("Id,"2016). Headed by Dr. Sidney Gottlieb, MK Ultra was started officially on the order of CIA director Allen Welsh Dulles on April 13, 1953 ("Id,"2016). The goal was to develop mind –controlling drugs for use against the Soviet bloc in response to the allegations that North Korea, China, and the Soviet Union were already using techniques of mind control and torture on prisoners of war ("Id,"2016).... Some of these subcontracts were also through colleges ("Id,"2016). Project MK Ultra was first brought to public attention by anonymous tips ("Id,"2016). Because of those tips, in 1975 the Church Committee of the U.S. Congress and Gerald Ford began to investigate CIA activities within the United States ("Id,"2016). Investigative efforts were initially hampered by the fact that CIA Director Richard Helms ordered all MK Ultra files destroyed in 1973; however, the Church Committee and Rockefeller Commission investigations relied on both the sworn testimony of direct participants and on the relatively small number of documents that survived Helms ' destruction order ("Id,"2016). "One 1955 MK Ultra document gives an indication of the size and range of the effort; this document refers to the study of an assortment of mind–altering substances" ("Id,"2016). In the 1920s, Robert House, a doctor from Texas, identified the drug as a means to extract information. In the next epoch, barbiturates including sodium amytal and sodium pentothal were introduced. Many feel that in the light of the sudden growth of crime in the world, these drugs should be used as an identification element in criminal investigation just like how the former CIA officials and Indian Judicial officials utilized it. However, Advocates strongly oppose the idea to enforce such method on the public. Both sides believe they are in the right and the other is wrong, but the point still remains that this so–called truth serum is a drug that should not be used in any situation. MK–Ultra was a mind control program created by the CIA. It basically works by submitting the subject to extreme torture to create a second personality, which can be triggered at any time to perform any action required by the handler. This was shown a lot in the movie "Captain America: Civil War" with the character Bucky Barnes, who was turned into a slave through MK–Ultra. The movie Coraline is about a young girl, sharing the name of the film, who is neglected by her family and finds a portal in her new home to a fictional world where her parents have buttons for eyes and spend all of their time on her and love her unconditionally. (SPOILERS) Everything is basically backwards and better in this world. In the end it turns out her "other mother" wanted to take her eyes and kill her to retain her youth. Coraline escapes from her other mother and all is well. The opening scene of the movie is essentially a symbolic summary of the entire mind control process. It starts with a creepy metal hand and a doll of a little girl. The hand obviously representing the handler, and the doll the subject. First the clothes are removed with scissors, referencing abuse. Then the hair is ripped from the doll's head, a form of very traumatic torture. Then the eyes are ripped out of the doll, which is a very large symbol of MK–Ultra type ... The Unbelievable, Unethical CIA Mind Control Experiments The Unbelievable, Unethical CIA Mind Control Experiments The CIA's, the Central Intelligence Agency, duty is to provide national intelligence to U.S President and officials. The CIA created a top secret experiment to try and control people's mind. According to the CIA's file, "MK–ULTRA/Mind Control Experiments", which started in 1953 and continued to 1964. The main goal for this project was to to brainwash people and reprogram their minds. At first, the CIA denied of doing such thing, but later on admitted that they have done mind control experiments on nonvoluntary people. Although, they said that they have stopped completely since then. If the CIA has done brutal experiments like MK–Ultra, what other experiments have they done on people without their consents? Are we sure that the CIA discontinued with MK–Ultra like they said? The CIA used LSD to brainwash people, which has disastrous effects on people's health. This experiment was truly wrong, unnecessary, and unconstitutional. The CIA were influenced by other countries to experiment on brainwashing people but resulted in the agency to making unethical decisions. In the article, "Project Mkultra: One of the Most Shocking CIA Programs of All Time", Melissa explains that, "The motivation was also defensive, in that many were afraid during the Cold War that the Russians and Chinese had already developed weapons in this area." The CIA realized that this technique could possibly be very beneficial towards our country, and wanted to understand this process before other countries. With this tactic, the CIA thought they could use brainwashing to their advantage and also create manchurian candidates. In the article, "The Secret Montreal Experiments They Don't Want You To Know About," D'Alimonte defines Manchurian Candidate as, "double agents, or super soldiers, who had been psychologically altered to fulfill a function, then forget it ever happened, thus making interrogation impossible." The CIA wanted to create Manchurian Candidates so they could do all of their dirty work. EastLink was a multibillion–dollar project, and its funding stemmed primarily from the Federal government, however as the project progressed, the Victorian Government switched to the stance that the EastLink project was no longer viable as a toll free road which subsequently led to the termination of the partial Federal government funding for EastLink. The Federal government's reasoning being that it would only provide support and funding for projects that were toll free, hence the Victorian Government's initial promise. The Victorian Government's decision to have EastLink be a tolled motorway is one influenced by the operating and development costs of such a large civil project and is largely motivated by the financial return of such a project. These concerns were later shown as EastLink made a loss of nearly $93M in its first six months of operation, the largest reason being that being a tolled motorway, it would not attract as many motorists than it would've being a toll free road. The second decision arose over the planning of the layout of EastLink, namely over the extent of environmental damage that would be caused ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. What Is Ultra's Role In Ww2 ULTRA was a code name for information collected from enemy signals during World War II. Brigadier Bill Williams, a top British intelligence adviser, credited ULTRA with providing the military with intelligence that would ensure defeat of the Germans. Though this claim is an exaggeration, ULTRA certainly was an important factor in the triumph of the Allies over the Germans and Italians ("Axis") during World War II. The insight it provided into the Axis' strategies and plans played an important role in battles on water, land, and in the air. ULTRA also supplied the Allies with the information that the oil and ammunition shortages were not limited to a section of German forces but existed throughout all of them. During this time ULTRA helped Allied forces locate Axis forces on the airfields in Sicily and southern Italy. The exploitation of Axis' weaknesses were possible with the help of ULTRA intercepts. ULTRA evened the playing field between the smaller British air force and the Luftwaffe, almost double the size of the British force during World War II. • 40. Telus Spark Observation Essay This week had a big focus on our prototype project because it is coming down to the final weeks of this projects before we go to Telus Spark for the celebration of learning night. So in order to prepare for this we had a grade 10 science class come and test our projects and the people form Telus spark came for a second visit. This time around Revecca and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They were both okay, I did not achieve what I wanted to on them but I could have done worst. Taking social test's have always been a struggle for me, just because they are so long and it is a lot of reading, trying to pull out different pieces of information and figuring out what exactly they are asking. They are also very sneaky and make some of the answers quite similar. Even though I have taken social test's like this for all of my middle school career they never get any easier! When it came to math, I generally just did not exile in the measurement unit very well, even though I studied and did practice questions. Hopefully the next unit will go a little better, but some of my friends that have math said that the next unit is really hard, so I am quite scared. Wish me ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
