The document discusses the development of a music magazine created by Billie Casimir. It describes choosing a simple masthead design, selecting a front cover photo featuring a female to appeal to a male audience, and experimenting with two color schemes before settling on red, orange, and yellow to be bold and eye catching. The contents page and double page spread are also outlined, with the latter being reworked with a black background and adjusted text colors until the creator was happy with the result.
2. MASTHEADS
I had used Da Font.com to look for a design for the masthead of my magazine. I found various ones
that I had wanted to use so I put them together and picked my favourite.

I decided to pick number two because it is simple and basic, I wanted it to be bold and stand out but
not have a difficult design because I wanted my front cover to look formal.
3. IMAGERY
When I used the studio I took many photos so I had a many options to choose from.

These are some of my many options, none of them are full length shots. They range from mid-length
shots to close-ups. Eventually I picked picture one because you can see her whole face whereas in
image two her hand is covering her face. I chose image one opposed to image three because she is
female. My magazine is aimed at males I feel like they would be more interested if there was a female
on the front cover instead of a male.
4. 3 COLOUR SCHEME
I tried out two colour schemes after designing the layout of my music magazine.
On this magazine
the three colours I
used was grey,
white and red.
These are formal
colours you would
find these possibly
in a business
magazine.
I have a 3 colour scheme
going on, I chose to use red,
orange and yellow. My
reasons for choosing these
colours is that they are bright,
bold and eye catching, these
colours make a very
outstanding contrast with the
dark background, also
according to some research I
did people find it easier to
read colours rather than plain
black on white with no other
colours around. Although I did
use black on white for my
contents page it also has
images and some coloured
text so it is still in somewhat
way visual.
7. DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD
This was my double page spread completed but I didn’t feel happy with the work I did. However, the
ordering of my page I did like. So I decided to keep the placing. I decided to use a black background
like I did for my front cover. As I changed the background I had to change the colour of my text. Once
I changed it I was happy with the work I had done.
