The Moon Lady Character Analysis
Vignette number one, "The Moon Lady", is shown through the eyes of Ying–Ying St. Clair, the
mother in this St. Clair mother–daughter pair. Ying–Ying begins to realize that her daughter is
beginning to lose sign of what is important. She then begins to blame herself for this. For example,
Ying Ying wants to tell her daughter "We are lost, she and I, unseen and not seeing, unheard and not
hearing, unknown by others."(Tan 67). With believing that they both have lost sight of what is
important, she begins her childhood story. Throughout most of the story she is a very fidgety and
carefree child. For instance, Ahmad yells at Ying–Ying saying "Stand still, Ying–Ying!"(Tan 69).
This gleeful child later turns into a very fearful and curious child. In this case, Ying–Ying falls from
the boat and is saved and while on the shore hears "The Moon Lady...and the very sound of those
magic words made me forget my troubles."(Tan 80). While we read this vignette we begin to see
that guidance is needed in numerous aspects of life. Throughout Ying–Ying's story there is no real
broad mother figure in her young life. With the limited guidance of the minor mother figure in her
life, it made her lose sight of what is important which in turn made her daughter lose sight due to the
fact of her mother's modest guidance. The second vignette, "The Voice from the Wall", was seen
through the eyes of Lena St. Clair, who is the daughter in the St. Clair mother–daughter pair. She is
a very curious child

Short Story Of Aemilianus
On a Monday morning as Aemilianus Priyanka was prancing home his mom Tamrat Priyanka called
him and asked why he is failing his classes and struck his teacher Mr. Naomhán Afon František
Comgal Ó Cochláin right across the top of his head. This lead to his mom demanding him to go to
his room and think of what he has done. Aemilianus refused and this made his mom turn into the
devil. Aemilianus said to his mom " I never follow the rules in school so why is this a surprise to
you" Tamrat Said "Don't make me smack you upside the head little boy." Later on that day Tamrat
goes upstairs to check on Aemilius and apologies for how she acted and she saw the window open
with a rope made of bed sheets hanging out of the window his mom yelled " I'll skin that boy alive
next time I see him!" As Tamrat was walking downstairs she heard a loud BOOM and she saw
Aemilianus on the floor unconscious. She grabbed him and threw him with all her might inside the
house and grabbed a bucket of water and poured it all over Aemilianus which lead to him waking up
and drenched from all that water. Tamrat was so angry she said " I dare you run again and see what
happens little boy". Tamrat left him off easy today because she thought she was too harsh but she
still grounded him from his Tv, Phone, and video games . So it's a couple weeks later and

Nightmare. Heart pounding, lungs screaming, feet aching. Jesse quickened her pace as she tried to
run away as fast as she could. She couldn't believe it, everyone's gone, everyone's dead. *** Jesse
felt as if her head was splitting into two as she opened her eyes slowly, the dark forest in front of
her. She didn't know where she was, she was slumped back against a tree, the car nowhere in sight.
"A–Allerie," she cried out, "Allerie!" She cried out again, louder this time. She felt worry well up
inside her as she tried to search her surroundings to search for the brown tuft of hair she's always
been with. No luck. "Jack? Dean?" She tried shouting for her other friends who were with her but
she still had no luck. "This can't be happening," She muttered to herself as she slowly stood up, she
felt something drip from her forehead as she stood up, she touched it lightly, the moonlight her only
source of light. "It shouldn't have been like this," She muttered again, as she wiped her bloody hands
against her clothes. She squinted at her dark surroundings, looking for something–– anything that
could help her. "Please, someone help me!" She walked slowly and steadily towards the thick trees
of the forest, hoping that she was going the right way towards the highway. "Allerie! Where are
you?!" She shouted, her mouth feeling dry. All kinds of scenarios went through her head, Allerie
could be dead. She shook those thoughts away as she just continued walking. "Jack! Dean––" Jesse

Personal Narrative: Chainsaw
We were frantically doing everything in our power to contain the fire. Chainsaws were buzzing, fire
lines were being dug, and I could hear Eric screaming into the radio for the VLAT to, in his words,
"Hurry the **** up and drop the retardant to try and keep the fire at bay!" Never before had I ever
been this close to being burned alive – a close second would've been when me and Chris had been
trapped in the brush and just barely had managed to escape. I could feel myself sweating like a dog,
and I inferred all my brothers were too. My hands were shaking uncontrollably, my knees felt weak,
but I pushed on, maybe out of desperation for my life, maybe for the lives of my brothers, maybe
even both. It wasn't looking good, though.

We set up our fire tents frantically, shaking in fear as the flames seemed to get closer and closer, the
heat becoming almost unbearable. I huddled inside the confines of my own, and desperately gripped
the foil sheets as I waited for the flames to inevitably scorch my shelter.
It was dead silent. The only sounds being the VLAT tanker trying to get through to us, and the sound
of fire. A sudden dread washed over me. This would be my last few seconds alive. The last few
seconds that I got the enjoy the comfort of life, the comfort of being with my brothers, and mostly,
the comfort of being with Michaela, my sweet, dear little daughter.
They say your life flashes before your eyes when you die. My worst and lowest moments being a

the day that I had set the resolve to either become a better parent and stop drugs, or kill myself. The

children. All the fires we had fought through and actually survived

Personal Narrative-It's Time To Start Up Again
"Bye, girls have a fun night together" my mom yells, "don't say up to late." My mom and dad were
heading out to stay late with a friend for their birthday. "Bye mom have, a good night," I replied
back. My best friend Carlee and me were planning to stay up late, but we decided it wasn't the best
idea sense school was about to start up again. When I was heading downstairs from getting warm
milk I hear a click noise and hear someone walking, I figure it was just my brother and decide to not
tell Carlee. We hung out and played for awhile since we where young. I went to the bathroom and as
I was coming back I heard the foot steps and clicking noise again. Click, click, click. A hour later we

Ryan replied. I could tell by his gesture that he was talking about me and Carlee are wimps in his

It hurts. My bright red bruises under the light were buzzing from the pain. The yelling and arguing
were muffled by my loud sobs. Why did this have to happen to me? I was just a kid, I didn't do
anything! Stomp stomp stomp. I heard footsteps coming up the stairs. He found me and yelled into
my ears even more. I was called ugly, fat, disgusting, useless, girly, weak. The words ringed in my
ears as I asked myself once again, why? I was like a slave, I couldn't defend myself, I had to survive
the beatings. I succumbed to the insults and descended into chaos. Today was Chinese New Years so
my family went out to our Auntie's house to celebrate. I looked up above to the black void called the
sky. Suddenly, I heard a loud noise. Fireworks filled the night sky, it was glittering with beauty. My
eyes were filled with wonder and color. I looked up to sky for the rest of the ride there.
Finally, we arrived at our Auntie's house. Of course, with every party comes alchohol. Adults were
laughing and cheering while the kids were playing their video games. The night was filled with
vibrant colors as we watched firecrackers and shared laughs with each other. Today, everybody acted
like it was the last day of their lives. They feasted, they drank, they did everything! Soon enough, it
was time for us kids to receive our "lucky" money! We all lined up in front of the adults and said our
new years wishes. We wished everybody a great year and made our way home. As we rode our way

"Get your filthy feet off the table!" the detective growled.

"I'm sorry, I tried to get you more options but the Society wouldn't let me," she added.
"What's the Society?" Alex asked confused.
"It's our government; they make and enforce the rules. If you're not 'perfect' then they either kill you

"The Institute," Alex said glumly.
"Are you sure?" Alex's lawyer asked.
"I'm only sixteen, anything is better than death," she growled, as the guards got up to take her to the
Institute.
When she walked into the cemented room there was a bunk bed in the corner with sheets folded
neatly on the bottom bed and a giant lump of sheets scrambled around on the top bed. Great a
roommate, Alex thought to herself menacingly. There were no windows two dressers, a clock, a dim
light bulb in the center of the room and a camera in the corner diagonal form the bunk bed that was
moving constantly. "Welcome to the Institute, here is your number 768," the guard said to Alex.
Then a girl rose room the top bunk, she shoved all the sheets of her then jumped off of the bed on to

Mr Schachter Poem
Never shall I forget that night, the first night in the camp that turned my life into one long night
seven times sealed. Never shall I forget that smoke. never shall I forget the small faces of the
children whose bodies I saw transform into smoke under the silent sky. Never shall I forget those
flames that consumed my faith forever. Never shall I forget those moments that murdered my God
and my soul and turned my dreams to ashes. Never shall I forget those things, even were I
condemned to live as long as God himself.
Never.
There was a woman among us, a certain Mrs. Schachter. She was in her fifties and her ten–year–old
son was with her, crouched in a corner. Her husband and two older sons had been deported with the

A few young men forced her to sit down, then bound and gagged her. Silence fell again. The small
boy sat next to his mother, crying. I started to breathe normally. We could begin to doze again, to
rest, to dream... And so an hour or two passed. Another scream jolted us. The woman had broken
free of her bonds and was shouting louder than before: "Look at that fire! Look at the flames!

My Dad 's Blood Alcohol Concentration Essay
Dad walked in the front door of our old farm house stumbling and cussing up a storm. The stench of
alcohol on his clothes was so strong it filled the house. My siblings and I paid no attention to it, for
this was a normal occurrence. We ran up to him and gave him hugs excited to see him. The look on
his face was not the same thrill as on ours. He meandered up the creaky, wooden stairway to my
parents' bedroom, which at the time was only enclosed on three sides and open towards the stairway,
where the fourth wall should have been. I followed closely behind him, my siblings after me. My
mom was at the end of her bed, folding clothes. My dad, dirty from his construction job, had begun
to change his clothes. Trying to lighten his mood, my mom jokingly took some of his change and
tried to start "a game of tag" per se. My dad's Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) was too high to
focus on a petty game like this, it just pissed him off. You could see the alcoholic rage in his eyes, as
my mom ran down the stairs with his change and keys. My older sister Susie, my younger brother
Jacob, and I were pushed into my room and he locked the door, he shouted "Stay here!" as he took
of stumbling down the steps after my mom. Shaking, worried about what his drunkenness would
cause him to do, I knew we had to get out. The lock on my door was just a hoop and latch, so I
shook the door till it popped out. As I pushed the door open, I could hear my dad shouting
downstairs, and glass shatter. As we

What Is The Story Of The Storm Short Story
Peter stood surrounded by cold darkness and stale, dusty air he was full of happiness and joy unlike
most people in the Storm,
where you are forced to do everything that you are told to do including no happy thoughts or fun.
You were told to do a certain job, you were told if you were allowed children and how many you
were allowed,
it was a gloomy place to be for Peter. He had 2 brothers and a mother who was a clerk at a local
store and he had a dad who worked in the mines which is what male people would have to work in
once there 18.
Peter was 16 and his brothers were 15 and 14 their names were James and Derrick, Derrick being
the youngest was forced to work for King Storm as an adherent where he would have to make sure
that the family was following rules and if not he was to report it and was rewarded for it but if was
hiding it would get painful death. This was generally how families would work in Storm.
Peter and James were very close together, they both had happiness in them but was hard to keep it
under control when Derrick was home. Every night Peter and James thought of ways to escape this
dark place they lived in and escape to happiness.
On the other side of Storm was Peace where you were free to explore and was a beautiful place
where there where skyscrapers and was light and you got to choose your path of life.
This was the real life they wanted to live in.
One night while Derrick was asleep Peter and James decided to think of a way to escape this
hardship and run off to a happy place for them.
After a couple hours of thinking they had it all planned they discovered that every night at 10:00 PM
The electricity would cut off so it could be restored this would usually take 2 minutes.
Once the electricity was down they would try to escape without getting caught by the guards once
there out they run for their lives, they thought hard "If we are trying to escape we need to bring
Mum and Dad with us" said James
"Hmmm not sure cause they will be mad if do and Derrick will find out" replied Peter "But...... if we
did escape without them then they would kill mum and dad" explained Peter.
"Maybe we could say to them that we want to go somewhere and when we have the opportunity we
can escape," said

Short Story : ' Dangerous. Uncontrollable '
Dangerous. Uncontrollable. Do not approach. These were the words that were plastered over the

forced to go into danger to save the lives of others. I was about to jump over this fence to save a life,
and that life was my own. The story starts on a Tuesday. There was nothing different about this day.

Benny mentioned something about social suicide if he was caught talking to me, and I couldn't agree
more. It would be embarrassing to have someone see that my only friend was a ten year old. Now,
many people by now would still be stuck on why there was a metal fence surrounding this suburban
town. Well, there was a metal fence because it was for our safety. Behind the wall was the unknown.
Not many people liked to not be in control, and that was what was beyond the wall. This unknown
started after the new president was elected. One town after the other started to fail. Electronics
started to die out, lakes dried up, and people started to rampage. Our town was the only one that
survived, so our mayor suggested we build a wall for our survival. Benny and I were walking close
to the wall when a group of sporty people from my school popped out of nowhere. It was almost like
some cheesy superhero movie where the bad guys come out dressed in sports gear and the hero is
suddenly in some tight outfit.

They said I could just try it out and if I didn't like it I could drop out and never think about it again.
He agreed. My eyes widened as wide as saucers and I was at a loss for words. I wasn't nearly as

Once I finally picked a song, which took forever because I didn't want to sing out loud in front of

A Short Story : The Headless Horseman

father to pick him up. He stood in the pick up, until a voice meet his ear. "Hey, Sam!" He turned to
see Kyle Johnson, pointing at him. "I asked for my money an hour ago, so where is it?" Sam said,
"I'm not giving it to you, Kyle. Just go." Kyle clenched his fist and punched Sam, knocking him to
the ground. He got up, seeing blood staining his black hoodie. Kyle grabbed Sam's neck, "I said
where's my money Sam? I won't ask you twice." Sam spat blood at his face. His eyes narrowed, and
quickly tightened his hands around Sam's neck. He began to cry, "Get...off me." A car pulled up,
Sam's father, Ross ran out and pushed Kyle off of his son. He looked ... Show more content on

One of the guards shut the door and walked away from the green pod and into the control room.
Sam stared him deep in the eye and said, "Look at me when you kill me, it would be rude not to."
The killer let a deranged smile, but it faded when he saw a pale man with a blank face and a black
suit staring down at him. Then the gas filled the chamber, only he didn't feel like he was dying, but
in grievous pain. His head felt like it was going to burst, his hands were sore and his back felt like it
was being broken. When the gas stopped, he broke the bounds on the chair and thought, "I was
never that strong!" When he walked out he realized his hands had claws, "What the heck?" Sam
looked into the glass of the chamber and saw his teeth looked more like railroad spikes. His eyes
were black, except for glowing yellow circles. Then he heard a voice, "You are lucky to be alive, not
many survived the transformation..." He turned to see the man with the blank face, Sam said in a
colder voice, "What did you do to me!?" The being replied, "I made you better...Sam Koren." He
said nervously, "How do you know me, who are you!?" The entity seemed to teleport down to him,
"I will answer the first one later, but you shall call me master." The killer said, "Okay, but what's in
it for me, master?" The being replied, "You will kill as you please..." He thought about it for a
moment, how could he trust this man, but something within told him to take the offer. Sam smiled
and pulled up his mask, "I'm in, master." And thus began a legend, so if you hear a scratching on
wood or snarling in the night, lock the door and keep a weapon close by, because you might have an

Skye's P.O.V.
Where is my stupid cousin? I scan the concert hall, searching for a girl with pale blonde hair and a
bag of popcorn. I told her not to bring the bag, but of course she insisted. Popcorn is like a drug for
her, it makes her crazy and clumsy. We're at a Black Veil Brides concert, and they were just about to
start. I adjust my Batman snapback, suddenly getting a phone call from my cousin Alicia.
"Yo?"
"Hey cous, where'd you go? I may or may not be lost ..."
I sighed.
"Describe where you are".
"Well ... there's a whole bunch of doors in this long hallway, and there's a big scary guy around the

face, again, and fell backwards, unconscious. I did a mental face palm but quickly ran up to her. I

he caught sight of my wrist. I quickly pulled my sleeve down, getting out of his hold, picking Alicia

Descriptive Essay About Esscanaba State Fair
The metal bar pressed against my legs. My feet were up on the bar in front of me. I heard the sound
of the ride starting. And then we went back and forth, back and forth.....
My grandma, sister and I were walking down the lit path of carnival lights at the Escanaba State
Fair. We saw the Supernova 360 hanging upside down, people screaming to get off. And we saw a
kid barf on the spinning apple ride.
"Sweetie, do you see any rides you want to go on?" My grandma asked me.
"I don't know, I want to go on the upside–down rides but nobody will go on with me. It's boring by
yourself." I said. But then I spotted a funhouse. Sydney had spotted it too.
"Let's go in the funhouse!" Sydney yelled. I smiled and we ran for the entrance.
"Let me see your wristbands". A man with gray hair and beard stubble on his face. We showed him.
We ran inside the house. We could tell right away this thing was meant for little kids. We could just
walk easily through the loose rods and floor boards. I mean, you throw a newborn in that place, even
THEY could do it! The only fun part was a big spinning barrel you had to run through without
falling on your face!
Once we got out our grandma was talking to a man with a long scruffy white beard. My grandma
gesturing me over to her.
"Emma, this is Ava. She loves upside–down rides and will go on with you"! My grandma said. The
mysterious man just nodded and smiled. "Oh, that's my boss." My grandma told me. She could tell I
had no clue who that person was.

Dante creeped out of the room and shut the door to his place. The wind blew furiously at his black

"They're real!" She shouted. "The Masked Heroes are real! See?" She held a book up for everyone

something? The donuts! The lads decided Peter would go instead. By now it was about 8:40am and I
had finished my work and went to go find out where Peter was. Apparently he rang and said the
shop had run out so he had to go to a place out of town. Suddenly, there was a noise it was as loud as

While I was sat down trying to recover my breath and the ambulance woman was bandaging my leg
I saw my sons mate James (who is in the fire service.)I shouted him, so he came running over to me.
I asked him" Is he in there?"(My son) He answered "yes." At this time everything just went quiet

of what will happen to him if he doesn't get out; everything went silent. Quickly jumping of the

Pressure On Homework Essay
I think that parents put a lot of pressure on homework, but then if they need something done. They
want us to drop what we are doing and do it. My mom does this a lot. She will want us to work on
our homework, but then she will want us to do the dishes or sweep the floor. If don't do it the way
they want it done, we get yelled at. We don't even win. It starts to get stressful after a while. They
always think that even though we seem to not be doing our homework. They can just put other tasks
on top of our homework. I know I've went to my room multiple times to just cried, because it is so
stressful or I will go for a walk to clear my mind. This much stress is not good because it leads to
other health problems like depression. Sometimes I blow up on my parents. It's not good to do but it
lets me tell my parents how I feel about the subject. It's not easy yelling at my parents but if that's
the only way they are going to listen to me, I have to do something about it. It's not easy to get along
with the people at my house all the time but I either try to or I go off to somewhere there is nobody.
Some ways I think this could be resolved is that no matter what it seems like, check if we are done
with our homework before telling us to do something around the house. I know for a fact that my
family yells a lot. If we just talk about it, then there wouldn't be yelling fights. Sometimes yelling
might seem to fix it, but it really doesn't. It actually just makes it worst then it was

Personal Narrative Essay : Short Story : Nude Luck '
Nude Luck The sound of the waves touching the soft sandy shore, the seagulls calling to each other
from high above it all just seems so beautiful, but I'm also guessing it made my step brother think
that it was funny to squirt sunscreen all over me while I peacefully minding my own business on my

after,"god dammit Geoff," I say to his big smirking face," dads waiting for you," he chuckled,"were

people that you'd always want as a brother, but me on the other hand, I was only ten, and I was one
of those video game kids that didn't really speak to brothers, so I'm guessing that's why Geoff did it,
I always try to give him a go, but he always says no, i mean, maybe its that I don't have any games
that he likes, but still, we don't really share, 'brotherly love', as they called it. I get up and start

Evaluation Of A Supervisor At The Royalton Map Program
As a supervisor at the Royalton MAP program, a before and after school child care program offered
through the Elementary school, I see multitudes of different kids: kids who interact well with others,
with a small group of friends, with one single friend, those who choose not to interact at all, and
those who do not know to interact appropriately with others. Managing these different kinds of kids
can be very difficult. It requires an understanding from me as to why they play with the students
they do, why something might have happened, and how to get to the bottom of it. The students who
do not know how to play with others are the most difficult to manage. If an argument occurs
between them and another student, they use violent words and physical actions to communicate their
emotions because most times they do not know how to express them. A perfect example of this kind
of student, was Oliver Clemens at the beginning of the 2016–2017 school year. Oliver was a new
student to the Royalton Elementary school this year. When he started the year and began attending
MAP, he struggled for a very long time. He was a very hostile child who often chose to play alone
for the sole reason that he hated everyone else, and did not want to play with anyone. None of the
staff knew how to handle to him, and because of his violent outbursts and yelling, many of the
younger students were afraid of him.
Oliver never listened to the teachers at MAP; he constantly argued with them. Every night

Descriptive Essay On The Sniper
He felt a slight relief looking down, from the parapet, at the city that was now completely quiet, no
gun shots, nothing. He sat down on the rooftop and enjoyed the moment of silence, that lasted only a
few more minutes. An incredibly loud scream made the sniper jump to his feet ready to shoot. Then
a silhouette from the rooftop across him looked like it was trying to stand up, he looked closely and
soon realized the dark shadow was the opponent he had shot not more than a few minutes earlier.
The rifle was ready to shoot and when his fingertips touched the trigger the voice of the enemy
screamed, "John, please don't shoot!" The sniper, now named John, was very confused, he then
asked "How do you know my name?" Before collapsing to the ground the man on the other side
yelled "It's me..David." John was speechless, his brother who had died ten years ago was now here
and had been shot. As the sniper sprinted down the building to get to his long lost brother he
grimaced and looked at his forearm realizing it had started to bleed again. He tied a knot over the
wound with a black bandana found on the ground on the way to the other rooftop. While picking up
the dying man, John was holding back from screaming as he felt his heartbeat shoot down in his arm
and blood was gushing out onto the dirt roads as he was running to the nearest hospital to save his
brother's life. As he stepped foot into the trauma section, John screamed out, "My brother got shot,

auxiliary Arcis. "My Lord all legionaries are in position," relays Master Engineer Anzu bowing, then
thumping his right fist against his left chest. He was the Archlord's trusted engineer and a member of
the Royal Caste. Anzu has endured many decades of servitude remembering the Archlord as a

Ranks within the Wariwulf–Nations were obtained through rites of passage. Young officers are
expected to prove their superior intellect by eliminating their competition. "Prepare all legionaries
and auxiliary for my signal," dictates Archlord Akvan. "It will be done, my Lord" replies Master
Engineer Anzu. "I want no mistakes this time," commands Archlord Akvan. "Yes my Lord," says
Warrior General Paimon. "My Lord all warriors are fully armed," says Grand General Ornias.
"Scouts indicate that opponents not fully prepared for this battle," proclaims Grand General
Malphas. Veteranis are exempt from all arduous duties and are generally held as examples to newer
recruits. Wariwulf–Nations use a holistic approach to intelligence using every facet to gather
information on their opponents. "That is what I am counting on," retorts Archlord Akvan. "My Lord
the time is near," replies Highborn Price Marax dressed in royal armor with a gold designed sword

Descriptive Essay On The Mall
I pranced myself across the parking lot off the mall with a grin on my face because my parents were
taking me to the local mall. I walked into the mall jubilant and ecstatic because the Polaris Mall had
a mini–playground for kids and they had this climbing wall which I completely adored. I could have
never foretold the events which took place next. The moment I walked in, I felt a fresh blast of air
conditioner air on my face. I looked around, taking in the ambiance of the mall. The Starbucks to the
right of me, the Nike store to the left of me. But I quickly forgot about these trivial matters and I
sprinted to the playground and immediately leaped to the top of the slide. I slid down the slide,
swung on the swings and saved the best for last, the climbing wall. After I finished all of the other
playground equipment, I bounded over the playground with wide strides with a wide grin on my
face at the climbing wall. There was a couple of kids at the bottom of the climbing wall, I didn't pay
too much attention to them. There were also kids just like me climbing the wall with skill and
dexterity. I was determined to ascend the top of the climbing wall before them.
I scaled the wall faster than I have ever thought possible. In doing so, I was reckless, my feet placed
themselves where I thought was a climbing rock. My other foot immediately relocated itself and I
lurched to the right and my feet displaced themselves. I found myself no longer on the climbing wall
but in mid–air

Personal Narrative-Reanna
Reanna
I felt a rush of adrenaline go through my body. I was on a plane to Europe! ME! An eighteen year
old girl going to Europe! I'm a straight A student going to Europe! I can finally leave the USA and
explore the world! Then, awaking me from my thoughts, a voice shouted "Alexia! Let's get off this
stinking plane and head off to Europe!" I got off my seat and rushed towards the exit, but before I
get into that, let me tell you how I got here.....................................
It all started for me on August 24th,2016.............
"OH MY GOSH! KY! YOU NEED TO SEE THE NEW VIDEO ON OUR UNIVERSITY
WEBSITE!" I screamed to my best friend Kylie. I saw her run off to another room, watch the video,
and came back shouting "WOO! Alexia, we're going to Europe!" In my mind, I was thrilled that she
would come, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I brought one backpack and one small carry on. The flight from D.C. to Florida was about 2 ½
hours. When I landed, I met up with my parents at the baggage claim. From there, we drove home.
As we got home, I prepared to ask my dad to go on the trip, because I knew my mom would say
"ask your father." Five minutes after my dad got changed into a lungee,(loon–gee), aka a Bengali
man skirt, I asked him the question. "Dad, there's a big Europe trip coming up, and you had to take a
test to go, and I passed, so can I go on the trip? Please!" I said. And as expected, he replied with "
What was your test score?" I shyly answered "A 95%." Out of nowhere, he pulled out a wooden
spoon, and said "You got an A. You didn't get an A+. Come, Come. Let me beat you with a stick." I
wasn't shocked, but I replied with "Dad, no! Where did you get that stick?!" Then my dad yelled "I
had it in my back pocket in case you turned out STUPID!" Thankfully, my mom stopped my dad, as
always."Honey, you can go. I'm sure your dad will be okay with it." she said while elbowing my dad
in the stomach.

The Moon Lady Character Analysis

  • 1. The Moon Lady Character Analysis Vignette number one, "The Moon Lady", is shown through the eyes of Ying–Ying St. Clair, the mother in this St. Clair mother–daughter pair. Ying–Ying begins to realize that her daughter is beginning to lose sign of what is important. She then begins to blame herself for this. For example, Ying Ying wants to tell her daughter "We are lost, she and I, unseen and not seeing, unheard and not hearing, unknown by others."(Tan 67). With believing that they both have lost sight of what is important, she begins her childhood story. Throughout most of the story she is a very fidgety and carefree child. For instance, Ahmad yells at Ying–Ying saying "Stand still, Ying–Ying!"(Tan 69). This gleeful child later turns into a very fearful and curious child. In this case, Ying–Ying falls from the boat and is saved and while on the shore hears "The Moon Lady...and the very sound of those magic words made me forget my troubles."(Tan 80). While we read this vignette we begin to see that guidance is needed in numerous aspects of life. Throughout Ying–Ying's story there is no real broad mother figure in her young life. With the limited guidance of the minor mother figure in her life, it made her lose sight of what is important which in turn made her daughter lose sight due to the fact of her mother's modest guidance. The second vignette, "The Voice from the Wall", was seen through the eyes of Lena St. Clair, who is the daughter in the St. Clair mother–daughter pair. She is a very curious child ... This lead to his mom demanding him to go to his room and think of what he has done. Aemilianus refused and this made his mom turn into the devil. Aemilianus said to his mom " I never follow the rules in school so why is this a surprise to you" Tamrat Said "Don't make me smack you upside the head little boy." Later on that day Tamrat goes upstairs to check on Aemilius and apologies for how she acted and she saw the window open with a rope made of bed sheets hanging out of the window his mom yelled " I'll skin that boy alive next time I see him!" As Tamrat was walking downstairs she heard a loud BOOM and she saw Aemilianus on the floor unconscious. She grabbed him and threw him with all her might inside the house and grabbed a bucket of water and poured it all over Aemilianus which lead to him waking up and drenched from all that water. Tamrat was so angry she said " I dare you run again and see what happens little boy". Tamrat left him off easy today because she thought she was too harsh but she still grounded him from his Tv, Phone, and video games . She couldn't believe it, everyone's gone, everyone's dead. *** Jesse felt as if her head was splitting into two as she opened her eyes slowly, the dark forest in front of her. She didn't know where she was, she was slumped back against a tree, the car nowhere in sight. "A–Allerie," she cried out, "Allerie!" She cried out again, louder this time. She felt worry well up inside her as she tried to search her surroundings to search for the brown tuft of hair she's always been with. No luck. "Jack? Dean?" She tried shouting for her other friends who were with her but she still had no luck. "This can't be happening," She muttered to herself as she slowly stood up, she felt something drip from her forehead as she stood up, she touched it lightly, the moonlight her only source of light. "It shouldn't have been like this," She muttered again, as she wiped her bloody hands against her clothes. She squinted at her dark surroundings, looking for something–– anything that could help her. "Please, someone help me!" She walked slowly and steadily towards the thick trees of the forest, hoping that she was going the right way towards the highway. "Allerie! Where are you?!" She shouted, her mouth feeling dry. All kinds of scenarios went through her head, Allerie could be dead. She shook those thoughts away as she just continued walking. "Jack! Dean––" Jesse felt a ... Chainsaws were buzzing, fire lines were being dug, and I could hear Eric screaming into the radio for the VLAT to, in his words, "Hurry the **** up and drop the retardant to try and keep the fire at bay!" Never before had I ever been this close to being burned alive – a close second would've been when me and Chris had been trapped in the brush and just barely had managed to escape. I could feel myself sweating like a dog, and I inferred all my brothers were too. My hands were shaking uncontrollably, my knees felt weak, but I pushed on, maybe out of desperation for my life, maybe for the lives of my brothers, maybe even both. It wasn't looking good, though. My mom and dad were heading out to stay late with a friend for their birthday. "Bye mom have, a good night," I replied back. My best friend Carlee and me were planning to stay up late, but we decided it wasn't the best idea sense school was about to start up again. When I was heading downstairs from getting warm milk I hear a click noise and hear someone walking, I figure it was just my brother and decide to not tell Carlee. • 11. Personal Narrative : Personal Essay It hurts. My bright red bruises under the light were buzzing from the pain. The yelling and arguing were muffled by my loud sobs. Why did this have to happen to me? I was just a kid, I didn't do anything! Stomp stomp stomp. I heard footsteps coming up the stairs. He found me and yelled into my ears even more. I was called ugly, fat, disgusting, useless, girly, weak. The words ringed in my ears as I asked myself once again, why? I was like a slave, I couldn't defend myself, I had to survive the beatings. I succumbed to the insults and descended into chaos. Today was Chinese New Years so my family went out to our Auntie's house to celebrate. I looked up above to the black void called the sky. Suddenly, I heard a loud noise. Fireworks filled the night sky, it was glittering with beauty. My eyes were filled with wonder and color. I looked up to sky for the rest of the ride there. Finally, we arrived at our Auntie's house. Of course, with every party comes alchohol. Adults were laughing and cheering while the kids were playing their video games. The night was filled with vibrant colors as we watched firecrackers and shared laughs with each other. Today, everybody acted like it was the last day of their lives. They feasted, they drank, they did everything! Soon enough, it was time for us kids to receive our "lucky" money! We all lined up in front of the adults and said our new years wishes. • 21. My Dad 's Blood Alcohol Concentration Essay Dad walked in the front door of our old farm house stumbling and cussing up a storm. The stench of alcohol on his clothes was so strong it filled the house. My siblings and I paid no attention to it, for this was a normal occurrence. We ran up to him and gave him hugs excited to see him. The look on his face was not the same thrill as on ours. He meandered up the creaky, wooden stairway to my parents' bedroom, which at the time was only enclosed on three sides and open towards the stairway, where the fourth wall should have been. I followed closely behind him, my siblings after me. My mom was at the end of her bed, folding clothes. My dad, dirty from his construction job, had begun to change his clothes. Trying to lighten his mood, my mom jokingly took some of his change and tried to start "a game of tag" per se. My dad's Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) was too high to focus on a petty game like this, it just pissed him off. Well, there was a metal fence because it was for our safety. Behind the wall was the unknown. Not many people liked to not be in control, and that was what was beyond the wall. This unknown started after the new president was elected. One town after the other started to fail. Electronics started to die out, lakes dried up, and people started to rampage. "Please leave me alone!" She cried. She kicked and shoved her way out of the men's grasp, but failed to escape. She continued to struggle while the men laughed and bullied her. She seemed helpless in this situation. At this point, Dante looked up and tried to ignore them. "Maybe the police will come soon." He mumbled. The towers and buildings seemed to loom over him, judging him as he stood there. The blue sky hovered over him as well, as screaming rang through his ears. Dante became dizzy after minutes of looking up at the sky, so he looked back at the place the girl stood. She was able to escape, and she was running away as fast as she could. He turned around to leave. "Maybe the police didn't come after all," Dante spoke to himself. "But at least she was able to escape." By ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Whilst I was driving I had something in the back of my mind; had I forgotten something? The feeling persisted. They stared, I thought what has happened, had I forgotten something? The donuts! The lads decided Peter would go instead. By now it was about 8:40am and I had finished my work and went to go find out where Peter was. Apparently he rang and said the shop had run out so he had to go to a place out of town. Suddenly, there was a noise it was as loud as thunder. • 54. Pressure On Homework Essay I think that parents put a lot of pressure on homework, but then if they need something done. They want us to drop what we are doing and do it. My mom does this a lot. She will want us to work on our homework, but then she will want us to do the dishes or sweep the floor. If don't do it the way they want it done, we get yelled at. We don't even win. It starts to get stressful after a while. They always think that even though we seem to not be doing our homework. They can just put other tasks on top of our homework. I know I've went to my room multiple times to just cried, because it is so stressful or I will go for a walk to clear my mind. This much stress is not good because it leads to other health problems like depression. Sometimes I blow up on my parents. It's not good to do but it lets me tell my parents how I feel about the subject. It's not easy yelling at my parents but if that's the only way they are going to listen to me, I have to do something about it. It's not easy to get along with the people at my house all the time but I either try to or I go off to somewhere there is nobody. Some ways I think this could be resolved is that no matter what it seems like, check if we are done with our homework before telling us to do something around the house. I know for a fact that my family yells a lot. If we just talk about it, then there wouldn't be yelling fights. Sometimes yelling might seem to fix it, but it really doesn't. • 60. Evaluation Of A Supervisor At The Royalton Map Program As a supervisor at the Royalton MAP program, a before and after school child care program offered through the Elementary school, I see multitudes of different kids: kids who interact well with others, with a small group of friends, with one single friend, those who choose not to interact at all, and those who do not know to interact appropriately with others. Managing these different kinds of kids can be very difficult. It requires an understanding from me as to why they play with the students they do, why something might have happened, and how to get to the bottom of it. The students who do not know how to play with others are the most difficult to manage. If an argument occurs between them and another student, they use violent words and physical actions to communicate their emotions because most times they do not know how to express them. A perfect example of this kind of student, was Oliver Clemens at the beginning of the 2016–2017 school year. Oliver was a new student to the Royalton Elementary school this year. When he started the year and began attending MAP, he struggled for a very long time. He was a very hostile child who often chose to play alone for the sole reason that he hated everyone else, and did not want to play with anyone. None of the staff knew how to handle to him, and because of his violent outbursts and yelling, many of the younger students were afraid of him. Oliver never listened to the teachers at MAP; he constantly argued with them. Every night ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He sat down on the rooftop and enjoyed the moment of silence, that lasted only a few more minutes. An incredibly loud scream made the sniper jump to his feet ready to shoot. Then a silhouette from the rooftop across him looked like it was trying to stand up, he looked closely and soon realized the dark shadow was the opponent he had shot not more than a few minutes earlier. The rifle was ready to shoot and when his fingertips touched the trigger the voice of the enemy screamed, "John, please don't shoot!" The sniper, now named John, was very confused, he then asked "How do you know my name?" Before collapsing to the ground the man on the other side yelled "It's me..David." John was speechless, his brother who had died ten years ago was now here and had been shot. As the sniper sprinted down the building to get to his long lost brother he grimaced and looked at his forearm realizing it had started to bleed again. He tied a knot over the wound with a black bandana found on the ground on the way to the other rooftop. While picking up the dying man, John was holding back from screaming as he felt his heartbeat shoot down in his arm and blood was gushing out onto the dirt roads as he was running to the nearest hospital to save his brother's life.
