2. Genre
The genre for this film opening is romance!
It is about couples and the film opening will be
two individuals preparing themselves to meet
someone. They will appear to be meeting one
another but then after the titles it will show
them walking towards each other and meeting
two different people.
3. Settings
It is set in a variety of locations and will follow them
on their journey to meeting someone. It will be
shot in bedrooms, trains, shops/highstreets, parks
etc.
During the footage the theme will be love and
anticipation to see one another, it will give off the
message that these characters are excited to meet
up with their loved ones as the audience will see
them texting and calling someone whilst they are
making their way to meet.
4. Target audience
The main target audience would be females and
couples however it could appeal to males as
well. This is the target audience because women
are usually the main gender who prefer to watch
films about relationships whereas men prefer
action films.
5. The opening sequence
• It will relate to the rest of the film as it will be
based upon the relationship of the couples seen
in the opening sequence.
• It will signify the genre through the music played
during the opening sequence and the actions of
the characters towards their partner.
• It will introduce the characters slightly and there
will be a variety of settings so it will not be clear
to the audience where the film will carry on to
take place.
6. • What will happen in it is that the audience will
see a girl and a boy getting ready in their own
settings (e.g. their bedrooms, car/train etc.) and
will appear to be meeting each other. They will
both be texting and calling someone that appears
to be a love interest to them; it will imply that
they are talking to each other and just after the
titles finish the audience will see that they don’t
know each other and walk straight past one
another to greet someone else.
• The style of the opening will be calm and joyful,
the mood set by the characters will be
anticipation as they are building up to meet each
other.
7. Titles
The titles will be included in normal things such
as on coffee cups, on letters and notes, on train
tickets, in magazines and on mirrors etc.
The normality of the plot will make it an
intriguing story line to the audience as they will
be interested in what will happen as it could
relate to many viewers.
8. Practicalities
• Actors – The actors included will be one main
girl and one main boy plus another boy and girl
to be their boyfriend/girlfriend, normal people
walking round the public locations to make the
settings look normal.
• Location – The locations in it will be in
teenagers bedrooms, on the train, on
highstreets and in shops.
• Props – The props in it will be phones, train
tickets and everyday objects like newspapers
and magazines.
9. • Costumes – The main girl would be wearing a
denim jacket, a scarf, leggings, a white top and
have a small side handbag. The main boy would
be wearing jeans, a casual t-shirt and trainers.
The other boy and girl would also be wearing
everyday clothing.
• Makeup – The girls would have natural looking
makeup on.
• Special effects – The camera will have tracking
shots and panning, also there will be footage shot
at different distances like close up shots. The
lighting will be mainly bright to create a cheerful
atmosphere.
10. • Music – The background music will be upbeat
and happy as the storyline of the film is a
positive one.
• Budget – This won’t be a high-budget film but
will require some costs such as train tickets and
purchasing coffees/magazines/newspapers etc.
11. Potential problems
Some of the potential problems would be that
the weather whilst filming outside could be
raining and if so travel costs would be a waste of
money meaning the filming would have to be
postponed to another day. Also some of the
scenes that are filmed on local transport could
have bad footage due to it being overcrowded.
