9. What lessons can we take from those
that have been using virtual learning
as a tool prior to COVID-19?
10. Relationships Matter
It is not about purchasing a curriculum set and letting it loose for students.
How you introduce it and supplement it will be the key.
Trusted adults matter whether students engage with them via text, phone, zoom, or on a physical
school campus.
11. Start slow and learn the technology first
We all have had time away from students and want to jump into standards and projects but go slow.
Allow families to adjust to this new way of learning for many of them.
13. Do SEL Check ins during this time
With students
With families
With other staff members
Support each other!
14. Don’t recreate the wheel
Collaborate
Collaborate
Collaborate
See what others have created and use what is out there!
15. Learn a new technology tool-not 10!
Again, take it slow master one tool and do it well
Play Kahoot with your class online
Zoom meetings
Google voice aspects for communication
Screencastify to capture screens and voice
16. Give yourself and your students grace at this
time
Have patience.
Just like in a traditional classroom some things will work well and other will not, that is ok.
