2. Cover similarities
Between the two, they follow
the same styled masthead. No
background box and solid red
bold text.
Between the two magazine the
main image is tilted the same
and facing toward the camera.
White text for the cover lines
along one side of the thirds
grid.
The whole of EMPIRE follows a
very similar house style to ‘6ix’
following text colour and
layout.
Both have a flasher in a
designated third of the magazine.
The footer’s are located
similarly with three blocks
describing what’s inside.
3. Cover differences
In my magazine I have chosen to
layout a header shape to catch the
eye of customers whilst on the
shelf and to contrast with the title.
I have also included puff in this
banner whereas empire have
theirs underneath in similar colour.
Empire have chosen to have a
male seriously looking into the
camera with depth whereas in
my 6ix magazine it’s a student
looking casually into the camera.
I have inserted headers and
footer of similar colours with
added rectangles. In Empire they
do not have a header and briefly
have a footer with no rectangles
at all.
Throughout my magazine
cover I have included my
cover lines on one particular
side and the most important
on the opposite. These are
now switched for empire’s
magazine.
4. Technology used in production
The different uses of technology all
corresponded toward the production:
