to the cover which makes it attractive. Also the fiery colour

front cover. The same colour blue has been used elsewhere
on the front cover which has kept the colour scheme similar.

the audience to identify who the main image is of. However
the name ‘Florence’ is not her full name. So this would imply

insight into what the double page spread is going to be
about and allows the reader to get personal with the artist.

7. DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD ANALYSIS
MAIN IMAGE – the main image is of Florence Welch. She’s dressed in a provocative dress with
heeled boots on. This gives the page sex appeal. This would appeal to the readers who are a fan of
Florence as she is represented in a way that women would aspire to be like. Also men would
appeal to this image as she is provocatively dressed so she is seen as attractive. The way in which
she is sat would also reinforce this suggestion. She is dressed in black which connotes she has a
sophisticated and smart look. Also it enables her to stand out from the page because the
background is white. Florence is sat on top of an American flag. This connotes that she is
dominating the USA with her music and that she has a big impact on the music industry. The word
USA that are behind her gives the reader an idea of what the article is going to be about.
SUB HEADING – summarises what the article is about. Florence Welch’s name is in a blue font
which emphasises that the article is about her.

formal.
