double page spread,we cansee that there are
gridsfor the text.These fourgridsare useful
as it meansthatpeople cansee the textclearly
as it ismore spacedout overthe page.
Column widthand positioning- The widthof
these columnsaren’tverywide butare quite long.I
believethattheyhave done thistomake space for some
of the image shown butalsoadd to the ideaof usingup
some of the space.It ispositionednearthe bottomof the
page.Thisis because the textwill alwayscome underthe
mainheadline asthe textlinkstothe mainheadline.
Font and type size- The fontthathas beenusedhere
issans serif.Thisisfontwithoutfancyfeet.Ibelieve that
thisisa veryoriginal font,andtheymaywantto keepit
original.Intermsof the fontsize,theyhave usedquite a
small fontsize;Ithinkthat theyhave done thisto
maintainspace as itmeansthat theycan make thingslike
the mainheadline alotbiggeras thisisthe thingthey
wantpeople tolookat firstas it connoteswiththe text.
Use of space- The use of space isjustsimplyhowthe
creatorsof the magazine use the space available.They
have usedthe space that theyhad well astheyhave
made the importantthings,the image andthe main
headline,the biggestthingsonthe page. Although,I
believethattheycould’ve utilisedsome of the space a
little bettertotryand make the texta little biggeras
some people maynotbe attractedto read the article and
the article isthe thingthatlinkstothe mainheadline.
Colours- Theyhave usedverybrightandvibrantcolours
on thispage for the mainimage whichhelpsthisarticle
appeal tothe reader..Although,theyhave usedawhite
backgroundforwhere the textis.I believethatthishelps
the text,whichisblack,standoff the page more.
Page numbers- There isonlyreallyapage number
displayingthe numberof thispage,although,thisisuseful
as thismay have beenone of the page numbers
highlightedonthe contentspage.
Use of images and main image- In termsof the
mainimage on thisdouble page spread,thisisthe same
personthat wasinthe mainimage onthe frontcover.
Theyhave usedthisimage particularlywellastheyare still
keepingthatongoingtrendof himbeingonthe front
coverand himbeingthe main,centre of attention.
Branding- Brandingiswhere youcan identify
somethingfromsomething. Inthiscase,we can
see that the image andthe article we have here
linkswiththe image onthe frontcoverand the
reference onthe contentspage.
Language, dropcap and mode of
address- Forthe language thathas beenused,
there isa mix of formal andinformal language.This
makesitseemmore personal forthe audience to
readbut can still be readlike aninterview.A drop
cap is the firstletterof an article andisthe biggest
letter.The pointbehindthisisthatitismeantto
denote the factthat thisis the start of the article or

product. One of the thingsthat I likedmostabouttisdouble page
spreadwasthe mainheadline.Thiswasbecause itincreasedthe
size of wordslike ‘Tagsand ‘Riches’toemphasise theirsignificance
inin the article andDizzee Rascal’s popularity.
