The dominant oceanic species of the Cretaceous period was the reptilian predator, the Mosasaur. The Tyrannosaurus Rex of oceanic fauna was a
56 foot behemoth. While there is some debate between experts about the mosasaur's place in the pecking order of the cretaceous period, it is fairly
well accepted that mosasaurs were in general dominant to the sharks of the same period. This is the accepted truth because mosasaurs averaged a
greater size then the sharks of the time. There are obviously a few violators of this size disparity but the mosasaur is still believed to have been

I want to finish up by talking about why we love mosasaur. Mosasaur is the "sexy" marine reptile species. It was massive, it was predatory, and it
was dominant. These are all things that we, as human beings, love. We love to look at a giant like mosasaur and imagine how terrifying it must truly
have been in life. Unfortunately because of our love for mosasaur and the reasons we love him, we tend to make it into more than it truly was. For
instance in the popular movie Jurassic World we see a gigantic mosasaurus leap out of the water like an orca to devour ashark. That is just not accurate.
Mosasaurus was far too large to propel itself out of the water like that. Moreover the mosasaur depicted in Jurassic World was incredibly more
gigantic than mosasaur actually was. Misrepresentation like this has led to mosasaur having a larger than life image to live up to. To give you an
idea of how large Jurassic World's mosasaur was in comparison to actual mosasaur I have attached Figure 3 on page 6. Another reason that we love

Hurston illustrates the obnoxious life of a religious African American woman, Delia who continually suffers from oppression by her wicked
husband, Sykes and explored the struggle between good (Delia) and evil (Sykes). Fortunately, at the end all the misdeeds of Sykes results in his
death by being trapped in his own tactic to scare Delia with a rattlesnake. The story reveals a sense of revenge ignited in a desperate life of Delia
because of Sykes oppression, which eventually led her to live an independent life.
From the beginning of the story, Delia's relationship with Sykes is unusual with lots of conflicts and a sense of revenge. Hurston has characterized

"What the Snake Brings to the World" is a 2002 poem by the Canadian poet Lorna Crozier. The poem is free verse, with four stanzas of 6, 4, 4 and 9

Wow! That's so cool. How many are there? The date is July 14 and we started our day about 8:30 am. We had plans to go to zoo at 11. My whole
family was going.
First we went to go eat breakfast. Then we went back to the hotel to get ready. Now we're ready to head off to the San Antonio Zoo. At first it wasn't
that cool. There were basic zoo animals then there were some cool ones like Caribbean Flamingos, bears and their snake collection was amazing. The
first animals my sister and I wanted to see was the monkeys. The monkeys would swing from the trees and the vines. They were amazing. The
monkeys are just like hairy humans. They would watch us as we watched them. The baby monkeys were so cute trying to keep up with the rest of the
monkeys. The gorillas were so big. They just sat around acting like they didn't even notice anybody was looking at them. The chimpanzees are really
smart. They knew when the zookeepers were about to come feed them and would just sit and stare at the entrance waiting. Next, we went to the
African Life exhibit. They had African wild dogs and dwarf mongoose. The dwarf mongooses are so cute. They had little ears and small paws with

Happiness is a Mystery Happiness is found everywhere throughout the entire world. Happiness is within everybody emotionally because it keeps
someone in a good mood. It is important to stay happy because that person can be able to live longer. In addition, when someone can think of
happiness, they can think of nature. However, when comparing, "Nature" is what we see" and "A Narrow Fellow in the Grass" by Emily Dickinson
(650–652), she symbolize here emotion towards nature mysteriously, theoretically, and factual. First, Dickinson describes nature mysteriously. The

For the past ten years, Repticon Reptile and Exotic Animal Conventions have toured America, traveling to cities displaying a wide gamut of exotic
pets with hopes of informing potential owners about the benefits of owning one (Repticon). Because I have never obtained an affinity for exotic
animals, I was confident Repticon would ensure my uneasiness and feelings of being an outsider. As I approached the front door, I was greeted by a
gigantic, inflatable snake that welcomed eager attendees, much like a theater shows previews to excited audiences waiting to see a movie. My
uneasiness immediately set in. Once I entered the open, airy room, I was stamped with a turtle on my hand. There was no turning back now. The

The customer, attendees, and participants of Repticon were mostly families: middle class, blue–collar workers with kids. Some participants seemed to
be there with their families to provide a source of entertainment to their kids while others had an obvious obsession or strong fascination for

by her husband throughout the story. Although she is oppressed by Sykes, her Husband, Delia stands up for herself and contests hispower. According to
Aristotle's definition of reversals, power constantly moves back and forth between Sykes and Delia throughout the story. Delia and Sykes have been
married for over fifteen years, yet two months after their marriage Sykes started abusing her. That being said, it wasn't always like that; Sykes at one

Salvation on Sand Mountain The climax of Salvation on Sand Mountain, author Dennis Covington's account of his own exploration into the bizarre and
small world of snake–handling, is when Covington himself takes up the snakes for his first (and last) time. As he describes in great detail, the
experience of snake–handling for Covington was similar to that of an awakening. Covington felt no fear, as the snake became an extension of himself

Finally, after what seemed like hours, I spotted our destination. We discretely glided down toward the ground and landed in the forest. I was

Naga Mandali In Naga-Mandala
In Naga–Mandala,Karnad has borrowed the main plot of the story of Rani from 'The Serpent Lover' which he had heard long ago from Professor A.K.
Ramnujan (1992–1993). This tale was later collected in A Flowering Tree and other Oral Tales from India, Published posthumously in 1997. The
deviation made in the play from original the folk tale can be traced thus:
Rani in the play is depicted as a young and beautiful girl, whereas in the folk tale Kamakshi is a girl who is very patient. In the play the old lady
named as Kurudavva, who is blind, offers two pieces of magical roots to Rani. She pays a visit to Rani's house by taking the help of her son,
whereas the old woman of the folk tale lives next to Rani's house and is not described as a blind woman. In the original tale, Kamakshi is not much
concerned about her husband going to a concubine, she leaves everything on the will of God. She says, " let them be happy with anyone he wants",
so long he accepts her as his wife. In the play Rani feel like Kamakshi only when the magical potion turns red.
There is another major change in the play: In the play the snake only comes at night through the bathroom drainage. This adds horror in the mind of the
spectator, whereas in the myth the snake approaches directly from the front door of Kamakshi's house by transforming himself as her husband–with

Jasanta was 18 at the time. Oh boy, I shouldn't have gone across that rope. That rope was the only thing protecting me from some sort of "tragic

Forgiveness In Marinere's View Of Sea Snakes

In the biblical book of Genesis, Eve is tempted by a serpent to commit an ungodly act of eating a forbidden fruit. As a result of the snake's temptation,
Eve eats the fruit, resulting in the presence of worldwide sin and the downfall of perfection. From this story of Adam and Eve, the figure of the snake
has become generally associated with temptation, evil, and cynicism. William Shakespeare employs this symbolic imagery of snakes in Macbeth, to
enhance the story of the rise and fall of Macbeth's power. For poetic and playwright purposes, Shakespeare uses serpentine imagery to reveal the
malevolence of characters, and portray the threatening position of the throne, all while provoking a heightened emotion of fear and tragedy from the ...
This struggle of loyalty vs. ambition correlates with Eve's biting of the fruit, which instantaneously fills her with sin. Eve's ambition was to obtain
knowledge of the world, yet in order to achieve it, she was forced to go against her God. In Macbeth, Lady Macbeth's incentive is power, which in
this case would be a seat on the throne. In both cases, evil is a required side effect to gain their desired qualities. And this evil desire approaches both
characters in the form of a serpent.
Following Lady Macbeth's "unsexing", the most descriptive use of serpentine imagery is revealed. Lady Macbeth persuades Macbeth to kill Duncan.
By doing so, she uses a metaphor of a snake to portray the Macbeth's future evil actions.
To beguile the time,
Look like the time; bear welcome in your eye,
Your hand, your tongue: look like th' innocent
flower,
But be the serpent under't. (1.5.64–67).
This simile is very similar to the clichГ© "snake in the grass," which implies a stealthily treacherous and surprise action. In this passage, Lady Macbeth
explains that in order to succeed, they must act normal around their guests, and conceal their evil desires. The snake thus represents Macbeth's hidden
ambition, and more literally, Lady Macbeth's plan of action.

However, the serpent, to which Lady Macbeth metaphorically speaks of in act one scene five, is not only these evil desires of Macbeth. It also
represents the threat that Macbeth possesses to Duncan.
