1. NEW MEDIA
There is constantly new media which influence everyone at some point and it will aid me in promoting
my new magazine as well as having a relationship with the readers. Some examples of this is Twitter, this is
because it is a great way to promote my magazine, bands within the pop rock genre constantly and is updatable
instantly. I feel that my magazine would need a twitter page to be able to interact with the magazine as well as
follow their favourite bands. Linking with my feature of reviews it will allow the readers to post there comments
which could potentially feature in the magazines monthly issue. They are also able to follow back which would be
good for the fan because they feel that the magazine appreciates the effort. This is improve the information given
and make sure that the magazine is staying up to date with the news with the rock pop genre due to the constant
updates and the reader will feel we are informative and reliable compared to other gossip magazines. Another idea
of mine would be to create a Facebook page which will also reach out to a wider audience. This will allow my
magazine to follow other major magazines and collect inspiration to make my magazine better. This will help you to
get ideas on what to do on your own magazine and can give potential layout ideas. These two ideas of new media
are great ways to address my audience due to them being a typical person that has a Facebook and Twitter account
that they visit regularly and so will be a great way to express ideas.
Other types of new media would include, YouTube and Instagram these websites would be great ways to link my
features of gallery and reviews to it due to being able to instantly upload images of recent gigs, concerts and other
gatherings which will be informative to the reader. This will also allow them to send pictures back and feel they
have a personal relationship with not only the magazine but the bands as well. YouTube is a very good social
networking website which will allow videos of back stage gossip of magazine news to be instantly uploaded to the
internet. You are able to upload and share music and videos within the webpage as well as comment being not only
for the magazine again but for the readers to communicate and make relationships with other music lovers of the
genre pop rock. YouTube has a wide range of users ranging from normal people to very popular people in the music
industry.
Finally smart phones are extremely popular and will allow the readers to subscribe to the magazine without visting
a shop and will be instant. This means it will be convenient and they will be able to access it constantly with the
updates that will occur. My target audience will typically have a smart phone so this is a great way to attract the
audience and make them feel important.
