answer the following questions:
With regard to your current organization (or one with which you are familiar), which design
structure is being used?
Would you consider this same organization mechanistic, organic, or hybrid?
Do you believe this structure and design are effective given the product and the business
environment? Why or why not?
Explain and substantiate your answer. Provide relevant examples for support
Solution
i am working for an Engineering college and PG college as associate professor in the department
of management studies. we have different engineering departments like ECE, EEE, Aerospace,
CSE, Mechanical and PG (MBA, MCA).
here our management follwed decentralised structure, all college is taken care by Principal. he
delegates the powers to individual department heads (Head of the Departements). they will take
care of everything about the regular activities in the department. and HODs will daily or weekly
assignments to the Faculty members.
the flow of information also from top level to bottom level and from bottom to top through
proper channels only. few or the major decisions will taken by the Directors or Pricipal, the
remaining people are there to implement the strategies of the higher authorities.
based on these aspects i can say that our organisation is having the a hybrid structure, like some
characteristics of the centralised organisation and some characteristics of decentralised
organisations.
definitely structure of an organization will effect on the perfomance organisation. few of the
organisations will perform in centralised system (like defence and security departments) and
some other are decentralised systems (MNCs) which are operating in different nations and
cultures. structure plays a vital role in the process.

Provide relevant examples for support Solution i am working for an Engineering college and PG college as associate professor in the department of management studies. we have different engineering departments like ECE, EEE, Aerospace, CSE, Mechanical and PG (MBA, MCA). here our management follwed decentralised structure, all college is taken care by Principal. he delegates the powers to individual department heads (Head of the Departements). they will take care of everything about the regular activities in the department. and HODs will daily or weekly assignments to the Faculty members. the flow of information also from top level to bottom level and from bottom to top through proper channels only. few or the major decisions will taken by the Directors or Pricipal, the remaining people are there to implement the strategies of the higher authorities. based on these aspects i can say that our organisation is having the a hybrid structure, like some characteristics of the centralised organisation and some characteristics of decentralised organisations. definitely structure of an organization will effect on the perfomance organisation. few of the organisations will perform in centralised system (like defence and security departments) and some other are decentralised systems (MNCs) which are operating in different nations and cultures. structure plays a vital role in the process.
