3. Simple and compound tissue:
– Simple tissue:
tissue which composed of only one type of cell.
– Compound tissue:
tissue which composed of two and more than two type of cells.
8. Squamous epithelium:
– Single layer of flat cells.
– Location: Found in lungs, heart, blood vessel and glomeruli .
– Function: Allow movement of material across it.
9. Cuboidal epithelium:
– Single layer of cube shape cells.
– Location: Found in kidney tubes and small gland.
– Function: Make secretions.
10. Columnar epithelium:
– Has elongated cells
– Location: Found in alimentary canal and gall bladder.
– Function: Make secretions.
11. Ciliated columnar epithelium:
– Has elongated cells with cilia.
– Location: Present in trachea and bronchi.
– function: propel mucus.
12. Stratified squamous epithelium:
– Many layer of flat cells.
– Location: present in lining of oesophagus and mouth and over skin.
– Function: protects inner parts.
13. 2. Connective tissue:
– Function: connecting function, support and bind other tissues.
– Connective tissue has scattered cells.
– Example: blood, bone and cartilage (ends of bones, external ear, nose and
trachea)
– Adipose tissue: found around kidney, under skin and abdomen.
– Function: provide energy and support organs.
14. 3. Muscle tissue:
– Consist of bundle of long cell called muscle fibre.
– Most abundant animal tissue.
– Have ability to contract.
– Types:
I. Skeletal muscle.
II. Cardiac muscle.
III. Smooth muscle.
15. I. Skeletal muscles: (voluntary
muscle)– Striated muscle and contain many nuclei.
– Function: Responsible for movement of bones.
16. II. Smooth muscle: ( involuntary)
– Non-striated muscle each with single nucleus.
– Location: Present in wall of alimentary canal, urinary bladder, blood vessel.
– Function: Movement of substace.
17. III. Cardiac muscle:
(involuntary)– Striated and single nucleus in each cell.
– Location: Present in wall of heart.
– Function: Produce heartbeat
18. 4.Nervous tissues:
– Transmission of information in body.
– Form a communication system in boby.
– Composed of nerve cells or neuron.
– Conduct message in the form of nerve impulse.
– Location: brian, spinal cord and nerves.
