Why We Crave Horror Movies
In his article "Why We Crave Horror movies," Stephen King stresses the fact that we are all "mentally ill," and explains why watching horror films
is an effective way to deal with our inner insanity. According to King, we are all insane by human nature, and are made up of "anticivilization
emotions." These emotions are integral parts of our personalities, and in order to stay healthy, they "demand periodic exercise." But living in society
has taught us to repress these emotions, which is why he argues that watching horror films provide us with this psychological relief, allowing us to
indirectly deal with "anticivilization emotions." According to King, horror movies "deliberately appeal to the worst in us," and therefore, perform the
"dirty job" of satisfying our inner monsters. I disagree with King because horror movies can also have negative effects. In addition, people have
different ways of channeling out uncivilized emotions.
Horror movies can have negative psychological effects. Although some people enjoy the thrill and nastiness of horror movies, I, for one, do not.
Watching horror films give me nightmares, and make me extra paranoid. Rather than my inner psyche feeling "satisfied," I feel disturbed. Watching

The Blind Side" is an extraordinary film based on a true story. Michael Oher, an African American teenage boy is one of the main characters. He
grew up very poor in the inner city housing projects with his mother in Memphis Tennessee. He had no idea who is father was, and his mother was a
drug addict. Michael had very little formal education and very few skills in order to help him learn. It wasn't until Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy took him

meaning he wanted to take both roads. There is a common saying about not being able to have the best of both worlds, and it applies very well in
this situation; "you can't have your cake and eat it too." He eventually ends up making up his mind; he chooses the road that was "...grassy and wanted
wear" (5). Many people before him had taken the road he did not select, and it is possible that we can look at that road as being the easy way out. We
can tell that not may people have taken the road in which he has selected, because it still has a lot of grass growing there; this road could symbolize
the long–term success of doing what is right and not what is easy. It would have been easiest for him to take the same road as everybody, but instead he
wanted to be different from the people around him. In the poem the author says, "I doubted if I should ever come back" (5 ); could this be because

The blind side, written by John Lee Handcock, is based on the story and events of the Tuohy family as they take in a young homeless boy by the
name of Michael Oher. A fatherless Micheal Oher is left in the care of his drug addicted mother in the gang filled projects of Memphis. But soon

Have you ever turned on the radio in your vehicle and heard an out rageous rock song? Yeah that's right it's Def. Leppard. They have been tour and

have very good musical and are a pretty sweet bad. The other reasons I think they should get this award is because they have a lot of achievements.

theme of living like we are dying. There are also poetic devices found in the song that drives home the theme. First is the imagery of the lyrics
"And a moment came that stopped me on a dime." This really means that this event stopped him all of a sudden, or suddenly. Another part of the
song that shows a pattern is the ends of the first two lines when they use words like 40 and me, words that rhyme and are soft and then when you
get to the third line that says "Stopped me on a dime", dime is a hard word and really "wakes you up". The rhymes, divin and climbin; deeper and
sweeter; book and look, are words that show action and love. Words that show you are doing something with your life. There is also a play on
