A Change Of The Subway By A New York City
The way people react to different environments reflect upon characteristics of their identity. These
surroundings can ignite feelings and emotions, which may urge an individual to react and reveal traits
of his or her personality. In Gladwell s essay, a change in New York City was ignited when Bernie
Goetz was asked for money on the subway by young men, who were later shot by him. Gladwell s
explanation of Goetz s incident detailed how The Tipping Point in this epidemic, though isn t a
particular kind of person...It s something physical like graffiti. The impetus to engage in a certain kind
of behavior is not coming from a certain kind of person but from a feature of the environment (152).
Gladwell claims that Goetz shot the men due to the graffiti and the environment, rather than the four
young men who asked him for money. When Goetz reacted due to his environment, he was able to
portray characteristics of his identity, such how he felt about his environment and how perhaps his
background, may have prompted him to react. Goetz was a product of his environment because he
allowed his environment to control him. While Goetz allowed his environment to control him, the
women in Nafisi s group broke away from their environment to create a new identity. In the world
outside of Nafisi s apartment, the government acts as a strict behavior which prevents the women from
expressing their true selves. When Nafisi s students come to her apartment, they do not have to adhere
to all rules

Between 1970 and 1984 cars were considered a luxury product; manufacturing was licensed,
manufacturing was restricted; there were quantitative restrictions on import and a tariff structure
designed to restrict the market. The market was dominated by 6 manufacturers Telco (now Tata

The decade of 1985 to 1995 saw the entry of Maruti Udyog in the passenger car segment. Economic

Summary Of David Suits An Epicurean Idea Suit
In David Suits article, An Epicurean Idea Suits addresses in detail the theory of Epicureanism. Suit
begins by introducing the major fear humanity faces and explains to us how Epicurus would refute
each fear. Suit then goes one step further to explain the different aspects of life that allow humans to
achieve the ultimate goal in Epicurus s mind ataraxia, which is peace of mind.
The Epicurean ideal propose 3 major fears humans have in their lives. The fear of God can easily be
eliminated as Epicurus revealed to the public Gods like all other objects in the world are made up of
atoms the only exception is that gods inhabit the space between the different worlds. Epicurean Gods
are not to be feared, because they could do nothing

Firstly, the disadvantage of advertising online is that on the second the company advertised on the
internet, everyone around the world can see the advertisement. People will start to learn the marketing
materials that the company used no matter it is legal or illegal. Everything of the company included
the logos, pictures and brand will be shown on the internet for everyone to check out. Other people
can simply imitate and ruin the whole company easily.
Another disadvantage of advertising online is the web started to contain a lot of rubbish
advertisements. This leads the web users sick of those advertisements and started to ignore the
advertisements online (Ingram 2015).
Kathy(2013) states that the next point is the disadvantage of TV advertising. The major concern of the
TV advertising is the expensive TV ads. The company has to pay more when the air time is longer.
The price will also depend on the time of advertising on the TV, for example, in the morning,
afternoon, evening, night or midnight. The ad shown up, the company

Donald Barthelme s Game Analysis
Through most everything you do there are people around you, in your job, in school, and even extra
curricular activities people are with you. Some people even suffer from fear of being alone
(Autophobia). Shown throughout the short story Game , Individuals do like not being alone. Through
irony, the mood, and conflicts the narrator indirectly shows that he doesn t want to shoot Shotwell in
fear of being alone.
Strange, what is strange? According to the Oxford dictionary strange is Unusual or surprising; difficult
to understand or explain. In Game by Donald Barthelme, characters are armed with .45 caliber pistols

otherwise they ll get shot, but the internal is less clear cut than the external. The conflicts in the
narrators head are, what is normal in Shotwell s head? How long are we going to be down here? Will
the bird flies? Furthermore, he worries about his sanity, depression, and mental state. Another problem
that they have is that they must trust each other and know who each are as a person. This trust problem
is shown right here, When Shotwell sleeps I try to pick the lock on his attaché case, so as to get at the
jacks. Thus far I have been unsuccessful. Nor has Shotwell been successful in picking the lock so as to

COST OF PRODUCTION
IORDAN ELVIS CRISTIAN
2nd YEAR, GROUP 1.1
TIMISOARA, 2013
INTRODUCTION
Cost is a sacrifice of resources to obtain a benefit or any other resource. For example in production of
a car, we sacrifice material, electricity, the value of machine s life (depreciation), and labor wages etc.
Thus these are our costs. Costs are usually classified as follows: * Product cost(cost of production) *
Period cost
In this paper, we will analyze the cost of production with all what it involves. For the beginning, it is
necessary to know that the cost of production is classified into:
Direct materials: Represents the cost ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Consider the following hypothetical example of a boat building firm. The total fixed costs, TFC,
include premises, machinery and equipment needed to construct boats, and are £100,000, irrespective
of how many boats are produced. Total variable costs (TVC) will increase as output increases.
Plotting this gives us Total Cost, Total Variable Cost, and Total Fixed Cost.
Given that total fixed costs (TFC) are constant as output increases, the curve is a horizontal line on the
cost graph. The total variable cost (TVC) curve slopes up at an accelerating rate, reflecting the law of
diminishing marginal returns. The total cost (TC) curve is found by adding total fixed and total
variable costs. Its position reflects the amount of fixed costs, and its gradient reflects variable costs.
But, from an economical point of view, we cannot talk about fixed and variable costs without taking
into consideration the marginal costs. In fact, marginal cost is the cost of producing one extra unit of
output. It can be found by calculating the change in total cost when output is increased by one unit.
It is important to note that marginal cost is derived solely from variable costs, and not fixed costs. The
marginal cost curve falls briefly at first, then rises. Marginal costs, as the economists say, are derived
from variable costs (mentioned above) and

His theories were in response to the altering nature of the workplace that was an outcome from the

The American Political System Is Built On A Foundation Of...
The American political system is built on a foundation of checks and balances, yet there is one branch
which has somehow evaded this practice. The federal court system is defined by Article III of the
Constitution, it represents one of three of the most powerful hands in the federal government.
Unfortunately, the article which outlines its functions and limitations is extremely vague in nature. As
stated in Article II, Section 2, Clause 2, the President holds the authority to appoint a federal judge,
should there be a position open. Furthermore, the Constitution states that The judges, both of the
supreme and inferior courts, shall hold their offices during good behavior, and shall, at stated times,
receive for their services, a compensation, which shall not be diminished during their continuance in
office. The usage of the phrase, during good behavior is indicative of a lifelong tenure. In the younger
years of the constitution, when the average lifespan was 35 to 50 years old, long tenures were not an
imminent threat to democracy, nor was it reasonable for the founding fathers to foresee the
development of such an issue. For this reason, the founding fathers only outlined three ways in which
a Federal judge could constitutionally be replaced, including; death, voluntary retirement, and
impeachment. However, when the position of SCOTUS was newly formed, the average tenure of a
judge was 7.5 years, unfortunately now it is closer to 26.1 years. (Calabresi 2006) Alexander

Pros And Cons Of The Poliovirus And Vaccine
Hi Antoinette, great post with a lot of detailed information. During my research of the poliovirus and
vaccine, I was in complete shock. As we know the food and drug administration (FDA) regulates and
approves our vaccines for public use. In 1955 the FDA approved and provided licensure for the polio
vaccine for public use within two hours (Gale, Null, 2015). This was the fastest vaccine approved by
the FDA ever. Although this resulted in a nightmare and many children and adults were affected with
many different forms of paralysis and some even lost their life as a result, there was still some good
that came from the poliovirus vaccine.
In 2016 the FDA gave breakthrough status and approval, which will allow hundreds of patients to be

Postmodernismo y Modernidad Essay
POSTMODERNISMO Y MODERNIDAD INTRODUCCION

What is healthy eating? How can you achieve healthy and at the same time smart way of eating?
These questions can really trigger the thinking of some people out there that had been eating but are
not aware if what they are eating is actually healthy and smart enough to meet their daily needs.
Healthy eating is never really about any strict and word for word nutritional theories and philosophies.
It is not also having an unrealistic slim body, nor depriving and not allowing yourself to take the food
that you love. Healthy eating is actually feeling great about it, using the right amount of energy, and
making and seeing yourself healthy in all possible means. In addition, all of these can be achieved by

Opting for fresh fruits and vegetables can be one of the key points that are lacking and not included in
the diet of most people. This is primarily because of the price. However, an option that we can take
here is to try to find some local shops that sell out cheap but quality produce.
Farmers market is also another option that can give you low prices as compared with the supermarkets
and groceries. Making this big leap is not only a major benefit to your health but also it can extend the
shelf life of the products; this will in turn lower down the potential of wasting.
There are still other ways that you can do in order to eat healthy and smart. A lot of online suggestions
are also given. And take note that trying to make a healthy diet that you want to achieve overnight is
impossible. When you try to change everything that you were used to, and doing it all at once is like
cheating on yourself, too. Gradually but surely is more likely.
Remember that healthy or smart eating do not have to be totally expensive and luxurious. All you need
to do is some proper planning and going out of your way to look for healthy and practical options.,
instead of just moping there and doing

When I saw the numbers of how many users there were in the United States, I can honestly say that I
wasn t shocked. Just where I live, Bellefonte, PA, there has been multiple heroin arrest in the past
year. Agents arrested nine in Center County drug bust shut down a half million dollar heroin and
cocaine drug operation. They arrested at least nine people that were in connection with the crime. In

why is it so easy to get your hands on such a hard drug?
There are many obvious signs to recognize if someone has a problem with heroin. Some of the less
noticeable ones would be shortness of breath, dry mouth, and small pupils. Some more noticeable
physical signs of heroin abuse would be the disorientation, cycles of hyper alertness followed by
suddenly nodding off, and often appear droopy. There are also things that lay around the household
that can be noticeable signs of heroin dependency. These can be things like burned silver spoons,
small plastic bags with a white powdery residue in them, and/or aluminum foil or gum wrappers with
burn marks on them. Soon enough loved ones will begin to notice other signs that someone has built

Personal Statement On Finance Of Portfolio Management
When I ask this question, most don t have anything to say except, my advisor handles that. Of course
my next question is, so, what is your advisor s sell discipline? Once I explain the importance of having
not only a buy discipline but also a sell discipline, they become intrigued. I will attempt to explain that
for you here. Most financial advisers are not portfolio managers. They will tell you this on the front
end. They often describe their role as a portfolio manager of portfolio managers. They hire portfolio
managers on your behalf by purchasing mutual funds. They explain with eloquence Modern Portfolio
Theory (MPT), and the benefit of diversification and rebalancing. THIS IS NOT ACTIVE
MANAGEMENT. Most followers of MPT tell you that rebalancing is the appropriate sell discipline.
This really means, winning stocks are sold to buy losing stocks. Most often it is explained that a sell
discipline is a horrible strategy and buying and holding is superior. They may give you what I call

In the United States today discrimination is still an issue in society. As a society progress has

place in the American justice system. Young minority males between the ages of 25 29 are subject to
being treated the most unfairly while whites of the same age are still being treated better than any race
in this country. African American and Hispanic males are being incarcerated at higher rates than white

rates for robbery, drug offenses, followed by murder and nonnegligent manslaughter. Whites show a
significant lower number than of the Hispanics and blacks for the violent crimes, but lead
incarceration rates for rape and sexual abuse. Whites also exceeded minorities in property crime

Introduction
This paper will analyze Shriners Hospital for children, a non profit hospital system owned by Shriners
International, through the theoretical lens of Bolman and Deals Leadership Frameworks (1997). This
paper will define structural and symbolic aspects of the organization, analyze strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities and threats through structural assessment to identify growth and risk potential, and
propose possible solutions for identified issues.
Shriners Hospitals for Children is a non profit hospital system that maintains 22 hospitals for children
in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. 18 of the hospitals provide orthopedic specialization; three
hospitals focus on burn care, and one hospital offers burn, spinal, and orthopedic care. The first
hospital was opened in Shreveport Louisiana, in 1922 by Shriners International, a fraternal
organization for men. The hospitals provide cutting edge care for a variety of condition, actively
engage in research for cures to childhood diseases and improvement to orthopedic and burn treatments
(Schumaker, 2005).

My Life After The World
Margaret Mead once said: Never believe that a few caring people can t change the world. For, indeed,
that s all who ever have. This quote certainly holds true for me. When I was in elementary school, a
caring man changed my life without knowing it. In second grade, my mother signed me and my little
sister up for ice skating class. For an extremely brief time period, I had visions of becoming a figure
skating prodigy, but they immediately dissipated as soon as I stepped onto the ice. I couldn t take a
step without slipping, but I was terrified of falling. To get to the area of the arena where the class was
taking place, I had to hang onto the side of the wall and slowly push myself sideways.
When class started, the teacher first taught us to skate across the ice by stepping outward with our
skates. Our first task was to skate across the ice arena. I felt like I was two again. I took tiny baby
steps across the ice, afraid to fall. I wasn t sure why I was deathly scared of falling. I was bundled up
in snowpants and a heavy winter coat, so falling wouldn t have hurt much anyway, and it wasn t like
falling was an extremely horrible mistake. But I was afraid to take a big step and fall. In life, I have
never wanted to take big risks. I was always careful not to make a mistake and look like a fool.
I looked ahead. My sister, Grace, was already halfway to the other side of the ice arena. She fell again
and again, but got back up and skated faster with each fall. Every time she

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Electoral System
The Oxford Dictionary (Oxforddictionaries.com, 2016) defines an election as a formal and organised
choice by vote of a person for a political office or other position . This is the same in all democratic
countries, however, no two countries have the exact same procedure for carrying out elections. There
are many ways in which elections can differ from state to state, for example, does the entire
population have the same choice of people to vote for or is the voting based on constituencies, or are
people voting for individuals or a whole party. The variation between them lies within the electoral
systems employed in each of these countries. Electoral systems are simply the rules of elections and
how they are conducted. The electoral system affects the type and level of interaction between
politicians and constituents (PR STV and localism in Irish politics, 2011).

This representation can sometimes mean a member of the Dáil prioritises the good of their own local
people instead of what is best for the state. Candidates in the general election have to make certain
promises to their community in the hopes of being elected and if elected have to do their best to ensure
they will be re elected by keeping their supporters content. This may not seem like such a negative
effect at first but it can result in a parliament, weakened by its members lack of focus on national
issues, and thereby unable to fully hold the government to account (PR STV and localism in Irish

Analysis Of Natsume Soseki s Kokoro
Natsume Soseki s Kokoro illustrates the struggles of a young man (the narrator) who was alienated
from his family and his loneliness as he pursues acceptance and love by building a friendship with an
elder. As a parallel to this, the elder (Sensei), sought an end to his social isolation through his love to a
woman whose qualities were not tainted by modernity. K, Sensei s childhood friend, had also hinted
his struggles in isolation as he tried to keep to his idealistic principles. This paper will analyze the
isolation and loneliness that was faced by the Japanese people during a period of significant
modernization and how they approached it and attempted to solve the conflict between tradition and
modernity.
Meiji Ishin was a time of revolution in 1868 that restored practical imperial order to Japan under
Emperor Meiji, thus reconstructing the government. Many people had high hopes in this new order of
government but the older generation was torn between their tradition and modernization. In Kokoro,
Sensei was a character that illustrated loneliness and isolation in his individual struggles with this
conflict. In the present, he said that he represented neither the new or old tradition but rather a
representation of a person who was caught in between the traditional belief and modern belief. Here I
quote, You see, I am an inconsistent person. This inconsistency may not be so much a natural part of
my character as the effect that the remembrance of my own past has had on

Essay on History Impacts Intercultural Communication
History Impacts Intercultural Communication
Why would it be important to examine the role of history in Intercultural Communication?
When we examine the role of history in Intercultural Communication, we gain an understanding of
how our past influences our communication skills with people from other cultures. We need to learn
and understand why we communicate the way we do. It can be very helpful in improving our relations
with other cultures. Studying the histories of cultures that are different from ours gives us a frame of
reference that can lead to better intercultural communication. It is not only important to study the
histories of other countries cultures but our own American subcultures as well. We need to understand

National histories are usually recorded in some way so as to preserve them for future generations to
learn from. Typically, a nation will only teach its own history to its students and only touch upon the
histories of other nations as they pertain to our own.
How is the history of gays and lesbians relevant to intercultural communication? Whether mainstream
society likes to admit it or not, gays and lesbians have their own sub culture. It is a sub culture that has
existed since the beginning of time but has only recently been recognized as a reality. Homosexuals
have a place in the histories of every culture throughout the world. As stated in a previous paragraph,
all histories are important to intercultural communication. When we learn about and understand other
cultures we create the ability to communicate more effectively with others. The history of gays and
lesbians has a place within every culture so it is just as important to intercultural communication as
any other histories are.
How can we negotiate histories in interactions? When we interact with people from other cultures it is
important to understand that there is a history behind how they view us and how we view them. Many
cultures within our country, as well as throughout the world, have such different belief systems from
ours that if we don t make a point of learning about the history behind other belief systems

Empathy In To Kill A Mockingbird
How The Author s Message is Portrayed to the Reader by the Development of Jem and Scout
Upon being brought up in a white Christian household, it becomes increasingly difficult for one to
empathize with the other types of people. The Ewells, African Americans, and the Cunninghams are
the three groups that are degraded by the upper white class of Maycomb, Alabama. In the book To Kill
a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Jem and Scout get the opportunity to go to an African American
church, invite a Cunningham to their house, and witness a court trial. This in turn contributes to the
better understanding of the others. Harper Lee s message to the reader says that it is necessary for one
to have empathy so that society can work together and have a harmonious lifestyle. To Kill a
Mockingbird explores the different forms of discrimination that are seen throughout Maycombian
society. There are four different kinds of folks in the world...ordinary kind [whites], there s the kind
like Cunninghams out in the woods, the kind like the Ewells down at the dump, and the [blacks] (226).
The level of status determines one s respect in society as well as how one is treated and perceived. The
higher up one is ranked means that the level of hatred for others is increased; as whites don t like the
Cunninghams, the Cunninghams don t like the Ewells, and the Ewells hate and despise colored folks
(226). Seeing this has made Jem and Scout realize that they are lucky that they live in a Christian

Vertical And Vertical Types Of Vertical Farming
Vertical Farms Vertical farming is a component of urban agriculture and is the practice of producing
food in vertically stacked layers or vertically inclined surfaces. Advantages of Vertical Farming
Minimum Input Maximum Output Vertical Farming is a revolutionary approach to producing high
quantities of nutritious and quality fresh food all year round, without relying on skilled labour,
favourable weather, high soil fertility or high water usage. Vertical Farm Systems growing cycles are
consistent and reliable, allowing commercial growers to confidently commit to delivery schedules and
supply contracts. In a well managed Vertical Farm System, there are no such thing as seasonal crops
and there are no crop losses. Vertical Farm Systems are fully enclosed and climate controlled,
completely removing external environment factors such as disease, pest or predator attacks. It also
means our farms are not dependent on fertile arable land and can be established in any climatic region
globally irrespective of seasonal daylight hours and extremes in temperature. The use of high
efficiency LED lighting technology ensures minimum power usage for maximum plant growth.
Computer management of photosynthetic wavelengths in harmony with phase of crop growth further
minimises energy use while ensuring optimised crop yields Greatly reduced energy usage for climate

On June 15th, 1958, two brothers opened the first Pizza Hut restaurant in Wichita, Kansas (U.S.) by
purchasing second hand equipment and renting a small building on a busy cross road. The concept
was relatively new at the time and the brothers quickly saw the potential of this new enterprise. A
short time later, they begun to open new restaurants and developed schedules for franchised outlets.
Their chain started growing up very fast, ten years later Pizza Hut Inc. counted almost 300 restaurants.
In 1986, it had 5,025 domestic units and annual sales of almost $2 billion. Half of the outlets were
franchised. A Pizza Hut restaurant is characterized by a particular freestanding design with a
prominent red roof. The restaurants are full service, eat in/carryout with about 60 to 90 seatings, open

One of the major theme for this short story is the overwhelming fear of the outside world. The author
made it clear that the suburb the family lives in is white, wealthy, and significant on rejection.
The family in Gordimer s fairy tale lives in a nice neighborhood, but as chaos occurs nearby and
houses are staring to be robbed, the residents of the neighborhood begin to build and place security

The family in the story loves each other very much and want the safety and protection for each other,
as shown in the opening. Their love for each other creates an increasing fear of the interruption in the
outside world. Their fear of crime encourages them to isolate themselves from the outside world. The
family took suggestions from other people about protective measures and each time they were
suggested one they did not hesitate to put it up around their house. Their ambition to protect
themselves from the outside actually ends up killing one of their loved ones. The family consistently
believes that the outside world is the monster, yet through their fear, the monster actually walks
amongst them. In the desire to eradicate insecurity, disastrous consequences result. It seems that
Gordimer is suggesting that in the modern setting, fear and insecurity is constant companions. Rather
than seeking to eliminate them, one might be better off in attempting to simply understand their

United depends strongly on third party providers to ensure smooth operations. Many integral functions

This increases the company s expenses and decreases the revenue.
The company s reputation will be at stake if these third party providers fail to perform or to live up to

Gender Themes In Alice s Adventures In Wonderland
Alice s Adventures in Wonderland holds a plethora of idea and theories that make up its fascinating
story and complex themes. However, the theories and themes that stick out the most throughout the
story are based upon an ideology of gender, class, and feminism. The story itself shows the
experiences of a little girl in a world that very closely reflects the Victorian era from which she was
accustomed. Overall, the novel breaks down the binary opposition of gender and the power dynamics
between adults and children. As a young girl during the Victorian era, much would be expected from
Alice concerning her behavior, appearance, and social cues. Especially since she was a young girl in
an upper class family. Throughout much of the novel, Alice is put down and even ignored because of
her role as a young girl. This reflects the way in which she would have been treated in her society and
how Carroll felt children s ideas and opinions were often treated in general. Aihong Ren, a critic on
the novel, points out that although Alice displays characteristics and manners of a young women
during the Victorian era, she also displays characteristics of a male hero (Ren 1). Alice s rebellion of
gender stereotypes and discourse towards the authoritative figures in the novel help to emphasis Ren s
point, and show that Alice is a complex character. Through the opinions of critics, such as Aihong Ren
and Jessica W.H. Lim, Alice s Adventures in Wonderland is not just popular children s story,

Competitors The most visible threat in the retail business across the United State is Competition. The
quality of competition in the U S as a sub region has significant influences on business within its

factors. Wal Mart is directly faced with competitors like K mart, Target, Winco, Albertsons and

span of business activities and ability to match dominant actors. Wal Mart`s price low cost and

the likes of Target and K Mart to follow suit in the low cost price strategy. The level of threat is

Essay about Luke s Gospel
Luke s Gospel Miracles
Section A
(i) The definition of a miracle is: An event or effect contrary to the established constitution and course
of things, or a deviation from the known laws of nature; a supernatural event, or one transcending the
ordinary laws by which the universe is governed.
However, other definitions claim that a miracle is simply a wonderful or amazing event . Today we
use the term miracle colloquially to mean the latter, however traditionally the first definition is
technically more correct.

Jesus is cleansing him from this mental illness, and this is considered a healing miracle. Christians
may translate that sort of miracle to today s society as to when someone, who is not Christian and is
sinful, finds god and is forgiven of their past sins. They would say it is a miracle for that person to be
healed spiritually.
A key point on this topic is a big part of our lives today in the modern society: science. Of course,
something that was seen as a healing miracle in the time when the bible was written is accepted as
normal procedure now as scientists now know so much about health and the body. We know leprosy
not to be contagious whereas in the bible lepers were excluded and seen as outcasts. People with
mental illnesses were thought were thought to be possessed by the devil, however we now recognise
these people to suffer illnesses such as schizophrenia. For example, a woman in the bible had a
haemorrhage that Jesus cured and this was considered a healing miracle. Today, for someone with a
haemorrhage, treatment would be expected and being cured would not be a shock. So if it was
considered miraculous in Jesus time, is it still considered miraculous today? It is the same situation but
because of medical advances it is no longer seen in that status. If a healing miracle needs to defy
scientific laws then we are

Basic Principles Of Communication

Christi Renzi October 23, 2017 The Basic Principles of Communication We will never know
everything there is to know about relationships with others or ourselves because the communication
process is complexed (Bevan sole, 2014). Communication is the main key to being successful in any
relationship, whether it is business or personal. Communication is the interaction between two or more
people who share meaning through messages that is either verbal or non verbal messages through
contexts (Bevan, J.L, Sole, K. (2014, section 1.4, para. 2). In order to become a competent

miscommunication because the teacher is not listening and disrespecting what the assistant is trying to
communicate to her about the student. The results of the teacher not listening to the assistant while
explaining how too much lights can over stimulate the student could make the situation uncomfortable
and cause complication with student and the assistant. One challenge or barrier that is caused by
miscommunication is misperceptions. Misperception is the broadest challenge of interpersonal

Systematic Organization in Learning
When you classify music in genres, terms such as Classical can be rather broad, and it can include
both Classical time period (1750 1820) and pieces from the 19th to 21st century. For example, a piece
written by J.S. Bach, can be classified as Classical, it is technically more suitably defined as being in
the Baroque genre because it is different in terms of sound quality ,composition technique,
instrumentation and arrangement.
In conclusion, systematic organization of facts is not fruitful as arts are full of opinions and
perspectives. It is difficult to systematize aspects of Arts that are based on personal Knowledge rather
it is more subjectivity than propositional ways of knowing. Even if you can systematically organize
things such as musical notes in music, the purpose of music is to communicate feelings and emotion,
and this cannot be just done by reading the musical notes to play. The technique and intention of the
performance included in it. Therefore system in Arts is not as necessary as it is in areas like Natural
Science as Arts is not only based on facts which leads me to an argument such as whether or not it is
always necessary for knowledge to be based on facts in order for that knowledge to be considered
adequately justified.
The second Areas of Knowledge I will be discussing is natural sciences. I take Biology so I chose to
focus on Biology so that I can talk from my experience. System is often used in Natural Sciences in

All of Paul s epistles speak to God s grace, but in these pastoral letters, Bruce views the main
contribution to be the church as a firm foundation on which God stands, a church not merely as an
institution for the dispensing of the means of grace, (44) but a church as a community instructed,
practiced, organized and administered as it grows as a community of ordinary men and women: who
have the saving grace of Christ in common and await Jesus return. In chapter five of his book, Bruce
turns to Luke s writings in the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the apostles where Luke declares
Christianity as a faith for the whole world, not just the Jews who pressured the Roman government to
execute Jesus. The Gospel of Luke, itself is the gospel to the underprivileged. In defending the faith
and Jesus place in it, Luke presents accounts of Stephen and Paul as a part of his history with Stephen
s account launching the Gentile mission (53) and Paul underscoring this mission as the major
theological theme of Luke when he voices near the end of his history in Acts 28:28 Let it be known to

Romans found it difficult to accept the lordship of Jesus because he was convicted and executed on a

Qualitative and Quantitative Studies
In patients sixty five years and older how does the use of an influenza vaccine contrasted to not
obtaining the vaccine reduce their chance of acquiring pneumonia during the flu season? In 2005,
pneumococcal disease and influenza were the eighth leading cause of death in the United States and
the primary cause of infection related mortality for all age groups (Assaad, El Masri, Porhayman, El
Sohl, 2012, p. 453). Vaccination for influenza is widely identifiable as one of the most efficient and
cost effective public health interventions. (Wheelock, Thomson, Sevdalis, 2013, p. 893).
Approximately 90% of deaths caused by these illnesses occur among adults sixty five years of age or
older. It is hypothesized that the impairment to the airway epithelial lining triggered by influenza
fosters bacterial growth, and that in turn bacterium derived proteases boost virus related virulence.
There are several studies that have been established that show vaccinating the population of older
patients, aged sixty five and older, has shown a decrease in developing pneumonia during flu season.
In a sizable study that included Swedish patients aged ≥ than 65 years old showed that immunization
with the flu vaccine resulted in a 29% decrease in the occurrence of all cause pneumonia and a 35%
drop in the death rate from all cause pneumonia in the vaccine group. Moreover, patients who were

Common Sense Essay
Common Sense
The persuasion towards independence represented through the pamphlet Common Sense, is largely
effective. The work portrays the unjust treatment received by the colonies from the mother country,
England. Thomas Paine begins with the creation of government, as lived by the colonist, and
progresses to the wrongful acts administered by Parliament and the King of England. Finally, Thomas
Paine gives confidence to the unity of the colonies, and details a forceful removal of English authority.
The argument is set up extensively in the commencement of the pamphlet. Thomas Paine explains
how the colonies began governing themselves. The natural governing solution for the people of the
new world was a representative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The King, as well as England, begins to forget the colonies are inhabited by English men. The
colonists are consistently being stuck with wrongful governing and no election power. In America
THE LAW IS KING , but under England the colonies must respect the King as law (98).
Unfortunately, the similarities between the two are observed by Thomas Paine as few and far between.
Common Sense ventures towards the argument about the peace at mind and military protection
provided by the mother country. England gives excuses for the taxes and rulings because of the safety
factor they preserve for the colonies. Paine handles this argument by describing the time it would take
to produce English armed services on American soil. The lapse would be crucial, and possibly too late.
Common Sense portrays some beliefs: We have boasted the protection of Great Britain, without
considering, that her motive was interest not attachment; that she did not protest us from our enemies
on our account, but from her enemies on her own account, from those who had no quarrel with us on
any other account, and who will always be our enemies on the same account. (84) England is
protecting the colonies when it is convenient for Her. Paine goes on to point out the convenience
presence when it comes to governing and taxing the colonies.
Thus Paine expresses a need for a

Parenting Styles And Family Relationships
Parenting styles have been researched in many different journals and their role in the promotion of
healthy child attachment to family, friends and social settings. In particular this review will focus on
parenting styles and their correlation to parent child attachment. The review will focus on the four
main parenting styles authoritarian, authoritative, permissive and neglect and examine the
effectiveness of these parenting styles on parent child attachment. Then the review will further
examine these parenting styles on themes that emerged throughout the literature reviewed. The themes
are: the child s perception of parenting styles, family dynamic, psychological effects and children with
health issues. After examining the literature the main overarching conclusion is that authoritative
parenting is the most satisfactory parenting style in all of the reviewed literature and that authoritarian
and permissive parenting reflect negative parenting styles and don t promote positive parent child
attachment. Family Dynamic Parenting styles and family dynamics have been correlated in a study by
Matejevic, Todorovic, Jovanovic (2014) where they examine the correlation between balanced family
systems and authoritative parenting and unbalanced family systems and the appearance of

The Proclamation Of 1763 After The French And Indian War
Events The Proclamation of 1763 is Britain s way of keeping colonists off the Indians lands. It was
declared after the French and Indian war, on October 7 1763 by King George the third. It s still a
fundamental Native American law even today across America and Canada. French and Indian war
Also known as the Seven Years War started 1757 and ended 1763. The war was French and Native
Americans combined forces against the British, the war lasted seven years. Later in the war the British
turned the tables on the French at Fort Frontenac. The war ended when the treaty of Paris was signed,
as was the revolutionary war. The sugar act also known as the revenue act was proclaimed in 1764 by
parliament. After the first act was to expire this act was a tax on molasses also. It taxed people six
pence per gallon of the imported substance. The goal of the act was to raise revenue to help pay for
military costs. The Stamp Act was proclaimed in 1765, and it taxed every piece of printed paper. It
taxed such goods as dice, playing cards, legal documents, newspaper and almanacs. The goal of the
act was to raise money for the Seven Years War. The Townshend act was proclaimed in 1767. The
colonists viewed it as an abuse of power after the last acts. The act was eventually repealed but left the
tax on tea. Some of the imported items that it taxed were: glass, lead, paints, paper and tea. The
Quartering Act was proclaimed in 1765. The act allowed the British soldiers to live in colonist s
houses. It also allowed soldiers to eat and drink colonists food. The goal of the act was to keep the
uprising of rebels at a low by catching them when the troops moved in, or by overhearing
conversations. The Boston Massacre, known as the Incident on King Street by the British happened on
March 5 1770. A squad of British soldiers were being attacked by a mob. One of the soldiers fired,
which caused others to fire. Over all five died all colonists. The event greatly boosted the revolution.
The Boston Tea Party happened on December 16, 1773. The sons of liberty boarded 3 ships and
dumped tea into the Boston harbor. They did this because of the British oppression. The British said
they would have to pay all the tea off or the harbor will be closed.

Gladwell claims that Goetz shot the men due to the graffiti and the environment, rather than the four young men who asked him for money. When Goetz reacted due to his environment, he was able to portray characteristics of his identity, such how he felt about his environment and how perhaps his background, may have prompted him to react. Goetz was a product of his environment because he allowed his environment to control him. While Goetz allowed his environment to control him, the women in Nafisi s group broke away from their environment to create a new identity. In the world outside of Nafisi s apartment, the government acts as a strict behavior which prevents the women from expressing their true selves. When Nafisi s students come to her apartment, they do not have to adhere to all rules ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Consider the following hypothetical example of a boat building firm. The total fixed costs, TFC, include premises, machinery and equipment needed to construct boats, and are £100,000, irrespective of how many boats are produced. Total variable costs (TVC) will increase as output increases. Plotting this gives us Total Cost, Total Variable Cost, and Total Fixed Cost. Given that total fixed costs (TFC) are constant as output increases, the curve is a horizontal line on the cost graph. The total variable cost (TVC) curve slopes up at an accelerating rate, reflecting the law of diminishing marginal returns. The total cost (TC) curve is found by adding total fixed and total variable costs. Its position reflects the amount of fixed costs, and its gradient reflects variable costs. But, from an economical point of view, we cannot talk about fixed and variable costs without taking into consideration the marginal costs. In fact, marginal cost is the cost of producing one extra unit of output. It can be found by calculating the change in total cost when output is increased by one unit. It is important to note that marginal cost is derived solely from variable costs, and not fixed costs. The marginal cost curve falls briefly at first, then rises. Marginal costs, as the economists say, are derived from variable costs (mentioned above) and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. The American Political System Is Built On A Foundation Of... The American political system is built on a foundation of checks and balances, yet there is one branch which has somehow evaded this practice. The federal court system is defined by Article III of the Constitution, it represents one of three of the most powerful hands in the federal government. Unfortunately, the article which outlines its functions and limitations is extremely vague in nature. As stated in Article II, Section 2, Clause 2, the President holds the authority to appoint a federal judge, should there be a position open. Furthermore, the Constitution states that The judges, both of the supreme and inferior courts, shall hold their offices during good behavior, and shall, at stated times, receive for their services, a compensation, which shall not be diminished during their continuance in office. The usage of the phrase, during good behavior is indicative of a lifelong tenure. In the younger years of the constitution, when the average lifespan was 35 to 50 years old, long tenures were not an imminent threat to democracy, nor was it reasonable for the founding fathers to foresee the development of such an issue. For this reason, the founding fathers only outlined three ways in which a Federal judge could constitutionally be replaced, including; death, voluntary retirement, and impeachment. However, when the position of SCOTUS was newly formed, the average tenure of a judge was 7.5 years, unfortunately now it is closer to 26.1 years. (Calabresi 2006) Alexander ... For an extremely brief time period, I had visions of becoming a figure skating prodigy, but they immediately dissipated as soon as I stepped onto the ice. I couldn t take a step without slipping, but I was terrified of falling. To get to the area of the arena where the class was taking place, I had to hang onto the side of the wall and slowly push myself sideways. When class started, the teacher first taught us to skate across the ice by stepping outward with our skates. Our first task was to skate across the ice arena. I felt like I was two again. I took tiny baby steps across the ice, afraid to fall. I wasn t sure why I was deathly scared of falling. I was bundled up in snowpants and a heavy winter coat, so falling wouldn t have hurt much anyway, and it wasn t like falling was an extremely horrible mistake. But I was afraid to take a big step and fall. In life, I have never wanted to take big risks. I was always careful not to make a mistake and look like a fool. I looked ahead. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Electoral System The Oxford Dictionary (Oxforddictionaries.com, 2016) defines an election as a formal and organised choice by vote of a person for a political office or other position . This is the same in all democratic countries, however, no two countries have the exact same procedure for carrying out elections. There are many ways in which elections can differ from state to state, for example, does the entire population have the same choice of people to vote for or is the voting based on constituencies, or are people voting for individuals or a whole party. The variation between them lies within the electoral systems employed in each of these countries. Electoral systems are simply the rules of elections and how they are conducted. The electoral system affects the type and level of interaction between politicians and constituents (PR STV and localism in Irish politics, 2011). In Ireland, since gaining independence in 1922, representatives of Dáil Eireann have been elected by proportional representation by single transferable vote (Gallagher, 2016). As a parallel to this, the elder (Sensei), sought an end to his social isolation through his love to a woman whose qualities were not tainted by modernity. K, Sensei s childhood friend, had also hinted his struggles in isolation as he tried to keep to his idealistic principles. Many people had high hopes in this new order of government but the older generation was torn between their tradition and modernization. • 26. Empathy In To Kill A Mockingbird How The Author s Message is Portrayed to the Reader by the Development of Jem and Scout Upon being brought up in a white Christian household, it becomes increasingly difficult for one to empathize with the other types of people. The Ewells, African Americans, and the Cunninghams are the three groups that are degraded by the upper white class of Maycomb, Alabama. In the book To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Jem and Scout get the opportunity to go to an African American church, invite a Cunningham to their house, and witness a court trial. This in turn contributes to the better understanding of the others. Harper Lee s message to the reader says that it is necessary for one to have empathy so that society can work together and have a harmonious lifestyle. To Kill a Mockingbird explores the different forms of discrimination that are seen throughout Maycombian society. There are four different kinds of folks in the world...ordinary kind [whites], there s the kind like Cunninghams out in the woods, the kind like the Ewells down at the dump, and the [blacks] (226). The level of status determines one s respect in society as well as how one is treated and perceived. The higher up one is ranked means that the level of hatred for others is increased; as whites don t like the Cunninghams, the Cunninghams don t like the Ewells, and the Ewells hate and despise colored folks (226). Seeing this has made Jem and Scout realize that they are lucky that they live in a Christian ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Advantages of Vertical Farming Minimum Input Maximum Output Vertical Farming is a revolutionary approach to producing high quantities of nutritious and quality fresh food all year round, without relying on skilled labour, favourable weather, high soil fertility or high water usage. Vertical Farm Systems growing cycles are consistent and reliable, allowing commercial growers to confidently commit to delivery schedules and supply contracts. In a well managed Vertical Farm System, there are no such thing as seasonal crops and there are no crop losses. Vertical Farm Systems are fully enclosed and climate controlled, completely removing external environment factors such as disease, pest or predator attacks. It also means our farms are not dependent on fertile arable land and can be established in any climatic region globally irrespective of seasonal daylight hours and extremes in temperature. The use of high efficiency LED lighting technology ensures minimum power usage for maximum plant growth. Computer management of photosynthetic wavelengths in harmony with phase of crop growth further minimises energy use while ensuring optimised crop yields Greatly reduced energy usage for climate control is the direct result of not requiring sunlight inside the growing area which enables the use of high thermal ... • 33. Gender Themes In Alice s Adventures In Wonderland Alice s Adventures in Wonderland holds a plethora of idea and theories that make up its fascinating story and complex themes. However, the theories and themes that stick out the most throughout the story are based upon an ideology of gender, class, and feminism. The story itself shows the experiences of a little girl in a world that very closely reflects the Victorian era from which she was accustomed. Overall, the novel breaks down the binary opposition of gender and the power dynamics between adults and children. As a young girl during the Victorian era, much would be expected from Alice concerning her behavior, appearance, and social cues. Especially since she was a young girl in an upper class family. Throughout much of the novel, Alice is put down and even ignored because of her role as a young girl. This reflects the way in which she would have been treated in her society and how Carroll felt children s ideas and opinions were often treated in general. Aihong Ren, a critic on the novel, points out that although Alice displays characteristics and manners of a young women during the Victorian era, she also displays characteristics of a male hero (Ren 1). Alice s rebellion of gender stereotypes and discourse towards the authoritative figures in the novel help to emphasis Ren s point, and show that Alice is a complex character. These five forces are the ability of potential competitors, the threat of new products, the buying power of consumer, and finally the bargaining strategies of suppliers. The threat of Competitors The most visible threat in the retail business across the United State is Competition. The quality of competition in the U S as a sub region has significant influences on business within its borders, and these are due to the following factors; technological, economic, social and political factors. Wal Mart is directly faced with competitors like K mart, Target, Winco, Albertsons and wholesale retailers like Costco. The threat form is slightly different in scale putting into account the span of business activities and ability to match dominant actors. Wal Mart`s price low cost and discount strategies often leaves less room for competition from small firms in the business and it takes the likes of Target and K Mart to follow suit in the low cost price strategy. Essay about Luke s Gospel Luke s Gospel Miracles Section A (i) The definition of a miracle is: An event or effect contrary to the established constitution and course of things, or a deviation from the known laws of nature; a supernatural event, or one transcending the ordinary laws by which the universe is governed. However, other definitions claim that a miracle is simply a wonderful or amazing event . Today we use the term miracle colloquially to mean the latter, however traditionally the first definition is technically more correct. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jesus is cleansing him from this mental illness, and this is considered a healing miracle. Christians may translate that sort of miracle to today s society as to when someone, who is not Christian and is sinful, finds god and is forgiven of their past sins. They would say it is a miracle for that person to be healed spiritually. A key point on this topic is a big part of our lives today in the modern society: science. Of course, something that was seen as a healing miracle in the time when the bible was written is accepted as normal procedure now as scientists now know so much about health and the body. We know leprosy not to be contagious whereas in the bible lepers were excluded and seen as outcasts. People with mental illnesses were thought were thought to be possessed by the devil, however we now recognise these people to suffer illnesses such as schizophrenia. For example, a woman in the bible had a haemorrhage that Jesus cured and this was considered a healing miracle. Today, for someone with a haemorrhage, treatment would be expected and being cured would not be a shock. So if it was considered miraculous in Jesus time, is it still considered miraculous today? It is the same situation but because of medical advances it is no longer seen in that status. If a healing miracle needs to defy scientific laws then we are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Systematic Organization in Learning When you classify music in genres, terms such as Classical can be rather broad, and it can include both Classical time period (1750 1820) and pieces from the 19th to 21st century. For example, a piece written by J.S. Bach, can be classified as Classical, it is technically more suitably defined as being in the Baroque genre because it is different in terms of sound quality ,composition technique, instrumentation and arrangement. In conclusion, systematic organization of facts is not fruitful as arts are full of opinions and perspectives. It is difficult to systematize aspects of Arts that are based on personal Knowledge rather it is more subjectivity than propositional ways of knowing. Even if you can systematically organize things such as musical notes in music, the purpose of music is to communicate feelings and emotion, and this cannot be just done by reading the musical notes to play. The technique and intention of the performance included in it. Therefore system in Arts is not as necessary as it is in areas like Natural Science as Arts is not only based on facts which leads me to an argument such as whether or not it is always necessary for knowledge to be based on facts in order for that knowledge to be considered adequately justified. The second Areas of Knowledge I will be discussing is natural sciences. I take Biology so I chose to focus on Biology so that I can talk from my experience. Qualitative and Quantitative Studies In patients sixty five years and older how does the use of an influenza vaccine contrasted to not obtaining the vaccine reduce their chance of acquiring pneumonia during the flu season? In 2005, pneumococcal disease and influenza were the eighth leading cause of death in the United States and the primary cause of infection related mortality for all age groups (Assaad, El Masri, Porhayman, El Sohl, 2012, p. 453). Vaccination for influenza is widely identifiable as one of the most efficient and cost effective public health interventions. (Wheelock, Thomson, Sevdalis, 2013, p. 893). Approximately 90% of deaths caused by these illnesses occur among adults sixty five years of age or older. It is hypothesized that the impairment to the airway epithelial lining triggered by influenza fosters bacterial growth, and that in turn bacterium derived proteases boost virus related virulence. There are several studies that have been established that show vaccinating the population of older patients, aged sixty five and older, has shown a decrease in developing pneumonia during flu season. In a sizable study that included Swedish patients aged ≥ than 65 years old showed that immunization with the flu vaccine resulted in a 29% decrease in the occurrence of all cause pneumonia and a 35% drop in the death rate from all cause pneumonia in the vaccine group. Common Sense ventures towards the argument about the peace at mind and military protection provided by the mother country. England gives excuses for the taxes and rulings because of the safety factor they preserve for the colonies. Paine handles this argument by describing the time it would take to produce English armed services on American soil. The lapse would be crucial, and possibly too late. Common Sense portrays some beliefs: We have boasted the protection of Great Britain, without considering, that her motive was interest not attachment; that she did not protest us from our enemies on our account, but from her enemies on her own account, from those who had no quarrel with us on any other account, and who will always be our enemies on the same account. It was declared after the French and Indian war, on October 7 1763 by King George the third. It s still a fundamental Native American law even today across America and Canada. French and Indian war Also known as the Seven Years War started 1757 and ended 1763. The war was French and Native Americans combined forces against the British, the war lasted seven years. Later in the war the British turned the tables on the French at Fort Frontenac. The war ended when the treaty of Paris was signed, as was the revolutionary war. The sugar act also known as the revenue act was proclaimed in 1764 by parliament. After the first act was to expire this act was a tax on molasses also. It taxed people six pence per gallon of the imported substance. The goal of the act was to raise revenue to help pay for military costs. The Stamp Act was proclaimed in 1765, and it taxed every piece of printed paper. It taxed such goods as dice, playing cards, legal documents, newspaper and almanacs. The goal of the act was to raise money for the Seven Years War. The Townshend act was proclaimed in 1767. The colonists viewed it as an abuse of power after the last acts. The act was eventually repealed but left the tax on tea. Some of the imported items that it taxed were: glass, lead, paints, paper and tea. The Quartering Act was proclaimed in 1765. The act allowed the British soldiers to live in colonist s houses. It also allowed soldiers to eat and drink colonists food. The goal of the act was to keep the uprising of rebels at a low by catching them when the troops moved in, or by overhearing conversations. The Boston Massacre, known as the Incident on King Street by the British happened on March 5 1770. A squad of British soldiers were being attacked by a mob. One of the soldiers fired, which caused others to fire. Over all five died all colonists. The event greatly boosted the revolution. The Boston Tea Party happened on December 16, 1773.
