2. What do different parts of plants do?
• LEAVES are the part where the plant makes its
food by photosynthesis. They contain the
chlorophyll which is necessary for this process.
• Most leaves have two main parts: the petiole
and the blade.
• Petiole joins the blade to the stem.
• Blade is the fad part of the leaf.
3. • Veins in the blade support the leaf and carry
water and minerals.
• On the underside pf the blade, there are tiny
pores called stomata. Gasses throught the
stomata.
4. STEM
• It supports the plant.
• Water and minerals travel through the stem to
the leaves for photosynthesis. The stem
distributes the food to the parts of the plant.
• Two groups of stems:
• HERBACEOUS STEM: it’s soft and flexible.
• WOODY STEM: such as trees. They are hard.
5. ROOTS
• They hold the plant in the ground.
• If you look closely at a root, you can see tiny
hairs, which are called root hairs.
• Roots absorb water and minerals needed for
nutrition from the ground.
6. FLOWER
• We can classify plants into two groups:
flowering plants and non-flowering plants.
