DELL
Dell is an American multinational computer technology company that develops, sells,
repairs, and supports computers and related products and services. Named after its
founder, Michael Dell, the company is one of the largest technological corporations
in the world, employing more than 165,000 people in the U.S. and around the world
(Annual report 2020). It is one of the biggest PC manufacturing companies in the
world .
Dell sells personal computers (PCs), servers, data storage devices, network
switches, software, computer peripherals, HDTVs, cameras, printers, MP3 players,
and electronics built by other manufacturers. The company is well known for its
innovations in supply chain management and electronic commerce, particularly its
direct-sales model and its "build-to-order" or "configure to order" approach to
manufacturing—delivering individual PCs configured to customer specifications. Dell
was a pure hardware vendor for much of its existence, but with the acquisition in
2009 of Perot Systems, Dell entered the market for IT services. The company has
since made additional acquisitions in storage and networking systems, with the aim
of expanding their portfolio from offering computers only to delivering complete
solutions for enterprise customers.
OPERATIONAL OBJECTIVES & GROWTH PLANS
One of the major Dell operations objectives is to remain the low cost producer.
Particularly the companies are competing on the prices is the cost factor. As the low
price is the universal attraction for the customers, which can be achieved at
producing the low cost. Dell is world known brand. Dell is world leader in supply
chain management and it keeps the production cost down with the high quality,
maximum speed, on time delivery, flexibility. Dell has the supplies from those
companies which are also the market leader in the computer industry. Dell has
shifted its operations to different countries like china,India, Korea and Taiwan in
search of the cheap input (raw material and labour). This makes easier for Dell to
produce products at a lower cost.
Operating continuously gives dependability advantage to its customers by making it
easy to deliver its production in the market palace. Using these operations objectives
Dell has managed to keep its customers happy and compete successfully with other
companies in global market.
Dell’s “end user computing” growth plan is based on four primary elements designed
to:
 Simplify the product and services
 Obtain new customers
 Win with industry-leading end-user computing solutions
 Scale alternative computing solutions

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT (SALES) - DIRECT SALES
SALES LOCATIONS: ACROSS INDIA
WORKING DAYS : 5 DAYS WORK WEEK
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: ₹400,000.00 - ₹800,000.00 per year
Education : MBA/PGDM

Key Responsibilities
 Inside sales role, which primarily takes calls on an inbound phone queue and
sells direct to the consumer.
 Responds to customer inquiries.
 May direct customers to website or other company resources for information.
Works effectively in a team environment.
 Principal Responsibilities Transactional focus
 Typically assigned to a higher volume sales queue or specific segment
 Entry -level representative, learning segment and product/service offerings
 Regular coaching/mentoring required
 Frequent contact with leader
 Increases product knowledge
 Increases usage of different mediums (chat, social media, co-sharing of desktop,
etc.)

The company is well known for its innovations in supply chain management and electronic commerce, particularly its direct-sales model and its "build-to-order" or "configure to order" approach to manufacturing—delivering individual PCs configured to customer specifications. Dell was a pure hardware vendor for much of its existence, but with the acquisition in 2009 of Perot Systems, Dell entered the market for IT services. The company has since made additional acquisitions in storage and networking systems, with the aim of expanding their portfolio from offering computers only to delivering complete solutions for enterprise customers.
