(i) Is able to know about wickedness of
Human beings.
(ii) Is able to know the consequences of
ambitious people.
Learning materials : Black board, placards contain meaning of
different words, Chart contain
characteristics of Shakespearian villains.
Reference : (i) English course book, source book.
(ii)English pronunciation dictionary.
(iii)Oxford English dictionary.

Informal Interaction:
Teacher engages in an
informal talk with the students so
as to create a good rapport with
them.
Good Morning!
Nice to see you all in a pleasant
mood.
What about our Macbeth?
Where did we stop in the previous
class?
Entry Activity:
Teacher says about what is
Banquet and asked the students
the following question.
(i) Why Macbeth decided to
kill Duncan?
(ii) What is a banquet?
(iii) Why Macbeth decided to
give a Banquet to
Noblemen?
Link Talk:
Teacher introduced the play
Macbeth to the students.
Sufficient information regarding
the play is made available to the
students. The author of the play
Shakespeare is too introduced to
the students. The title of the play
and the name of the written on
the blackboard.
Micro processing of the input
Model reading by the teacher
The teacher reads the second act
of the play with proper
pronunciation, stress, intonation
and meaningful units. The theme
and the necessary details are also
forwarded to students.
Track Reading by the pupil
Students are asked to read the
Second act of the play individually
And silently and they are also
asked to mark accordingly. that is
they have to put tick, for what
they have to understood, a
question mark for what they have
not and a exclamatory mark for
what they found interesting or
surprising.
Glossary reference
Students are asked to refer the
glossary to find out the meaning of
difficult words and the difficult
words are dagger , mourning
deceived, hypocrisy etc.
Collaborative Learning
Students are asked to form groups
and share their ideas in group.
Students are also asked to write
down the word in personal word
list.
Mega phoning the doubts
Each group is given opportunity to
raise their doubts to other groups.
Facilitation by teacher
Teacher helps to clarify the
difficult areas which no group
would effectively tackle. Teacher
also explains difficult areas.
Scaffolding Questions
In order to make the content
clearer, scaffolding questions are
asked to the students. The
students are asked to write down
the answers.
(i) What does the expression
‘Macbeth does murder
sleep’ mean?
That means |Macbeth lost
his sleep for ever.
(ii) Why did Duncan’s sons
flee from Scotland?
Duncan’s sons flew from
Scotland to save
themselves from
Macbeth’s cruelty
(iii) What made Macbeth turn
against Banquo?
Banquo suspects Macbeth
as the murderer of
Duncun. That’s why
Macbeth turn against
Banquo
Presentation by the pupil
Randomly selected students from
each group are asked to present
their answers for Scaffolding
questions.
Language Activity
A set of different words are
selected from the second section
of the play . Teacher asked
students to construct more words
from the words such as mourning,
deceived and hypocrisy.
Assignment
Write a letter of Banquo to inform the king about Macbeth’s plan to kill
the king.
