This lesson plan is for a 45 minute English class on Macbeth in Standard VIII. The objectives are to analyze the literary text to identify themes of hard work, determination, and considering work as worship. Students will read Act 2 of Macbeth, with the teacher modeling pronunciation and meaning. Students will then read silently and mark their understanding. Difficult words will be looked up and discussed in groups. The teacher will clarify areas groups have trouble with and ask scaffolding questions. Random students will present answers and a language activity on word construction will occur before an assignment is given.
