Respond the meaning of a text in the form of analytical exposition, discover many new
vocabularies (medical terms) and use them appropriately.

1. Students are able to read the text clearly and fluently.
2. Students are able to guess the meaning of unknown words by matching the new
terms with the meaning which are arranged at random.
3. Students are able to answer the questions related to the text provided.
4. Students are able to identify specific information.
5. Students are able to identify the generic structure of the text.
Goals
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to be able to:
1. Make sentences by using new vocabularies related to health terms.
2. Catch the messages that the writer wants to deliver.
3. Make a simple analytical exposition text.

A. Pre Activities
Teacher asks some students “What comes first in your mind when you hear the
word „cigarette‟ ?”
B. Theory
Generic structure of analytical exposition
1. Thesis
: introduce the topic of the text which state the opinion of the writer
about certain matter.
2. Argument : support the opinion stated in the above thesis.
3. Reiteration : restates the thesis in another phrases to point the writer‟s opinion.
