Fibrex Frames Research Paper
Renewal by Andersen of New Jersey & New York Metro replacement windows are custom–built
with high–performance materials and quality craftsmanship. It's no secret that many people prefer
wood windows, and they will last a long time, perhaps decades, it maintained properly throughout
the years. We recommended a patented frame material called Fibrex. Here are a few reasons why.
1.Fibrex frames are super strong and resistant to even the harshest winter weather Mother Nature
throws at us throughout the seasons. Plus, without any special preventative measures, these super–
frames will never rot, mold, mildew, fade or develop rust.
2.In conjunction with modern, energy–efficient glazing, composite frames virtually block all
moisture and air leakage. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When you select vinyl frames you don´t have as many options unless you´re willing to have those
bulky frames, because the weight of glass naturally makes unsupported vinyl sag or warp. The
question for every homeowner is ¨What are you willing to give up during the customization phase?
¨Are bulky frames ok? Are you willing to lose some free time to repaint the wood frames every
year? We believe that with Fibrex frames, you don´t have to give up anything in order to get
beautiful, high–performance home windows. And, why should you?

In the Park by Gwen Hardwood
Harwood's "In the Park" describes the bitter frustration of the role of an unidentifiable mother
depicted by society. A park creates an image of a relaxing setting, with the isolation of benches and
individuals happily strolling about. However, Gwen Harwood's Petrarchan sonnet, "In the Park",
illustrates the park as a depressing, lonely, and negative atmosphere. The mother's destruction of
identity is renowned through the symbol of time as well as this negative and gloomy imagery. The
mother's frustrations of the societal expectations of motherhood have led to the destruction of her
personal identity. Harwood uses the symbol of time to recognize that the mother's life has become
tiring, boring and repetitive and portrays the life of this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ex–lover thinks of his thankfulness to have escaped the past misfortune of the woman and the
future of misery that she will endure. The lover also indicates that "Time holds great surprises" (6)
meaning that time has brought three children that have taken over, taking the living out of her life,
which the lover has so ironically escaped some time ago. Time has resulted in the mother living for
the children but not for her own self, resulting in her identity never being recreated. In the sestet,
time is shown through "birthdays" (10) and, "watching them grow" (11). This is the first reference of
time made in the present and the future tense. It is the first positive point in reference to time rather
then the conversation of escape and regret of the past. It shows the attempt of the mother's display of
false happiness in present time as she sits in the park. She struggles to reassure herself, while trying
to convince the lover that her future will be content, ideally giving herself a false identity.
Throughout the poem the use of time as a symbol of identity obliteration promotes the high expected
potential of mothers, set by society.
The mother's struggle for identity is also presented through the poem's depressing imagery as well as
the figurative and literal language. The first quatrain states the sad, regretful statement of "too late"
(4). This imagery of loneliness is reflected upon the passion and pain involved with her once lover.

Time Is An Illusion, By Albert Einstein
"Time is an illusion." – Albert Einstein
"How may the experience of time be so intimately familiar, while the concept of time so resistant to

I laid shivering and trembling uncontrollably on the MRI table as I heard the voice of a young
technician telling me over an intercom to "stay as still as possible, otherwise we'll have to repeat the
tests again." He monotonically assured me that "it should take about 45 minutes to an hour" to
produce a full MRI, MRA, and angiogram of my brain. As I was slowly entered into the impossibly
tight machine, I closed my eyes and began to mentally keep track of time. One minute...two
minutes...nine minutes. Early into the test however, my time keeping was unnoticeably overrun by
anxious thoughts. What if they actually find a tumor in my head? What then? At the very least I'll
finally have an explanation for the past few months. I suddenly realized that I had unmindfully
stopped counting the minutes and had lost track of time. Shit! How long have I been in here? I think
I was at nine minutes, or was it 19? No, it couldn't have been that long. I felt an overwhelming sense
of panic started to build up, and had became increasingly frightened. I could not distinguish if a
moment lasted for a few seconds or for a few minutes, and I didn't dare opening my eyes.
The notion of "time keeping" is so engraved into our everyday lives as human beings that it
becomes difficult to objectively extract one solid definition.

Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let's Do The Time Warp Again
The Rocky Horror Picture Show was one of my favorite movies growing up. Those kids in the
audience singing along, chanting and throwing things, yeah, I was one of them. Been there, done
that too many times to count. So, I was excited to watch this movie for my critique. But that
excitement quickly disappeared when the movie started.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let's Do the Time Warp Again tips its hat to those roots with an
usherette (Ivy Levan) welcoming costumed fans into a midnight screening of the new movie. The
show occasionally cuts back to the audience during the production to see those on–screen audience
members reacting to what they're seeing. Instead of replicating the wild joy of the actual crowds
who still flock to midnight showings to shout at the screen, myself included, it only serves to
heighten the artifice of the whole ordeal. The charm that went along with the original was wiped out
and replaced with Fox's Glee–ified style.
We're introduced to Brad and Janet played by Ryan McCartan and Victoria Justice. While they don't
embody that joyful square–ness of the original cast, they still have an innocence to them. Laverne
Cox stars as Dr. Franke–n–furter and while I usually love her, the performance was sub par. The
whole production had a very vanilla, High School Musical vibe (possibly because the director
Kenny Ortega directed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You can tell Kenny Ortega was trying to liven it up and bring it into the 21st century, but once again
it had the cheesy flash of a Disney production. Ortega was focused on capturing the weirdness of the
original movie but either forgot, or unsuccessfully acknowledged the campiness that was such a
huge part of the originals success. Despite the flashy and athletic performances of the high kicking
cast, something was clearly lost in transition. The energy level of the performance was about 4
notches down from what I was expecting and at least 2 from the rest of the

The Is A Strange Process
"Have you ever messed up a solo, Dad?" I asked, as we both were headed off to watch my little
brother play soccer one day. We were driving in a small minivan down the highway and I had been
staring off in the distance most of the half hour long trip.
"Oh my, way too many times to count, Ben". He smiled and glanced over to me. "One time I went
up to the podium to start a hymn at a wedding and completely forgot how it started! I had to ask
someone else to help me out." He chuckled to himself and then resumed. "Performing is a strange
process. You think you're prepared to perform, but when you go to finally do it, your body goes
crazy. Your mouth gets dry, your knees shake, and you sometimes mess up. You can't just linger on
that failure though. It shouldn't stop you from doing something you love!"
I nodded my head in agreement. Performing was something I had been thinking about lately;
something that had truly impacted my life. I have been involved on stage numerous times through
my nineteen years of living, and I still don't understand the troubling process of performing yet.
Cool and collective people, in normal circumstances, turn into babbling victims of stage fright once
they get in front of a crowd. Experts who have acted for their whole life, forget lines on stage. Palms
get sweaty, focusing becomes harder, knees begin to quiver, and time begins to warp to a slow
crawl.
The first time I can remember performing formally in front of people was at a Sunday morning

Boniface: A Short Story
"That's right," Boniface agrees and gives Lawton, who has monitored her bizarre behavior a look for
help. When Lawton sees the look, he gives his daughter his full attention, for a most interesting
deduction, but he does not intervene.
"If there is any truth to the rumors," Boniface continues,
"Mr. Marshall shall be propelled back in time via this chamber, which has created a stationary and
somewhat controllable time warp."
"Time what?" Finally, Freddie gets it.
"Are you crazy?"
At that point, Freddie believes he's being used.
"What the hell are you guys trying to pull on me? Do you think I'm a complete idiot?"
"Son, you need to calm down. We do not intend to use you as a guinea pig, nor do we think you are
an idiot. It was our assumption and your words revealing to us, you would make the perfect
volunteer for this experiment!" "I may be tired of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Skeptical about the whole thing Laura asks. "Are you sure that's the case?"
Boniface does not respond to the question. Instead, he was meditating and calculating percentages
and probabilities. In addition, although the jest of it sounds impossible, Laura knows that there is a
good chance it may succeed based on the ability of the two men standing before her. With that
confidence, she watches as her dad checks the meteor Chamber.

Dr. Dre's Song Analysis
Music is an essential part of society. People hear music through many different avenues including:
concerts, movies, video games, radio and even advertisements. Also, thanks to the internet, there are
hundreds of music sharing websites available to people like Youtube, Itunes, Napster, and Pandora
Radio. It is easy to claim that music is omnipresent in today's modern society and that it has a
profound affect on how people behave. It is amazing how music can alter a person's attitude. When
utilized correctly, music has the ability to make people laugh, or cry or even feel angry. It all
depends on what the composer wants to portray. In Pharrel Williams' song "Happy" it is clear that he

According to Official Journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics: Media Edition, "More than
1000 scientific studies and reviews conclude that significant exposure to media violence increases
the risk of aggressive behavior in certain children and adolescents, desensitizes them to violence,
and makes them believe that the world is a 'meaner and scarier' place than it is" (341). Also, constant
exposure to alcohol and drug references in songs makes young women more likely to use or abuse
these substances later in life. In the song "Shots" by LMFAO, there is a part where people are told
"If you ain't getting drunk get the fuck out the club" (LMFAO). The song also refers to the
"alcoholics" in the room many times. This is promoting an the idea that the only way to have a good
time is to be completely intoxicated. Another song that promotes excessive drinking is "Drink to
That" by Rihanna. When a teenage girl hears a role model, like Rhianna, talk about getting drunk
every weekend they are more likely to follow in her foot steps. According to Addiction Treatment
Magazine, "It's been suggested that music influences adolescents more than at any other period of
their lives. The as yet unformed brains of teens are particularly vulnerable to musical imprint." This
is why music has to shape up. Artists need to realize they have a profound effect on the actions of

Analysis Of Bright Star By John Keats
In the famous poem "Bright Star", dedicated to his lover Fanny Brawne, John Keats presents the
essence of love in passion and in depth. As its form, a combination of Shakespearean and Italian
sonnets suggests, the poem portrays love as a subject full of seemingly contradictive qualities. As a
subjective matter, love is active and passive, physical and spiritual, mutable and eternal at the same
time. Holding immortal love as the ultimate value of life, the speaker imagines a brave possibility of
love transcending life for his romantic belief. In the beginning of the poem, the speaker presents
love as a subjective matter by contrasting it with the significant image of the star, a symbol of divine
objectivity. Since long ago, man has learned to observe stars for its "steadfastness" for directions and
guidance (1). Thus in western culture, star is seen as a prophetic divine existence, a form of absolute
truth or universal rule, above all arbitrary and relative beings on earth. The speaker then implies love
to be the opposite by emphasizing the star's incapability of worldly emotions and personal
perspectives by applying the metaphor of "Eremite" (4). The stoic hermit or recluse under religious
vow sacrifices personal feelings and preferences in order to obtain absolute truth. Hence, the speaker
perceives love as a subjective matter, unrelated to the absolute. In line 6, the metaphor of "mask"
also proves such assumption: Only by covering the objects, the snow, amorphous

Sartre and Brooks' Literary Critiques: Analysis of Memory and Time in Faulkner's The Sound and
the Fury
"History is the witness that testifies to the passing of time." Cicero presaged the study of historical
memory and conceptions of time, which assumes that what and how we remember molds our past
into something more than a chronological succession of events. Ever more appreciative of the
subjectivity of recollection, we grasp that without memory, time passes away as little more than
sterile chronology. In literary as well as literal history, time derives its meaning from Bergson's
"duration" – time as personal consciousness (322). In Faulkner's fiction, duration is a centerpiece,
even as chronology fails. Such is the case in The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sartre argues convincingly that the future does not exist for the Compsons; there is only a continued
renewal of the present. The present is riddled with gaps through which "things of the past . . . invade
it." Thus past and present are collapsed into one, where "the present moves along in the shadow . . .
and reappears only when it itself is past" (266–67). History for Faulkner's characters is composed of
"emotional constellations" which define the past in terms of resurfacing personal experience. Thus,
there is no perspective other than of the heart, and the past becomes "an obsession" (268).
Certainly this is true of Quentin, but I think Sartre could use this well–turned analysis toward a fresh
interpretation of Jason, whom most critics cast as totally unconcerned with the past (assuming, I
believe, that the past for all the Compsons is, like Quentin's, driven by honor). In fact, memory
compels Jason as powerfully as it does Quentin. An obsessive quest to make up for the time lost to
broken promises fuels his existence. His hatred of Miss Quentin and his theft from her is not just
real–time animosity or miserliness, but a manifestation of his continually growing resentment of
Caddy, whom he blames for all his troubles. Every cruelty, every dollar allows him to claim what he
feels would have been his. When Quentin steals Jason's money, she lays waste to his investment in
getting even. With Quentin, Caddy and the money gone,

Artificial Gravity In Star Trek
Aboard the Enterprise, space travel is just a casual part of the crew's everyday life. For those of us
stuck on the I5 in rush hour traffic, the thought of reaching your destination in a matter of seconds,
it's a godsend. Unfortunately, the laws of physics currently prohibit our society from traveling faster
than the speed of light; or even close to that speed for that matter. The limitations of our time hinder
the possibilities for some of the travel used in the series, however, this does not exclude every
concept of propulsion illustrated in the show. The concepts of gravitation, momentum, and long
distance space travel, ring true throughout this unbelievable and imaginative program. Gravity is
one vehicle the Star Trek franchise uses in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In class we watched a short clip of the Enterprise stuck in a time loop. The end result was
consistently the destruction of the ship when another vessel in the loop crashes into it. In the end,
Data speculates the tractor beam will not work and follows the idea of Commander Riker. The quick
decision was based upon something an undergraduate physicist would have learned in the first few
weeks of an introductory course; momentum. By "decompressing the main shuttle bay" Data was
able to release enough air to help push the Enterprise out of harm's way, saving the lives of the crew
and removing the ship from this loop. The gas that escaped the ship after the main shuttle bay was
decompressed applied an equal and opposite force on the ship as it left. This force gave the ship
enough of a push to clear the collision path. Thinking more generally, when a fire hose is sprayed
there is a force from the hose that pushes away from the direction of the water. This suggests that
technology such as hover craft may one day be possible. Most applicably, the idea helps illustrate
how shuttles maintain orbital speed or how WALL–E is able to move through space with a fire
extinguisher. Another concept that goes along with this kind of thinking, is the explanation of
inertial dampers. When taking off in a plane, there is a force exerted on the passenger by the seat.
This force is equal to the mass of the chair

Personal Goals In Life Essay
In Composition I, Mrs. Henry assigned us the task of writing to share information about ourselves.
Our group consists of Kane (David Pharr), Kylah, Joshua, and Kendra. As a group, we chose to
share about three topics that would reveal the most about our personality and character.
In this paper, you will get to know more about the hobbies, goals and families of Kane (David
Pharr), Kylah, Joshua, and Kendra.
First, you will be hearing from me. David Pharr, also known as Kane. I am a dynamic individual
with a great interest in learning new things. Working and schooling full–time doesn't leave much
time for activities, but I still manage to find time for hiking, camping, and exploring outdoors as I

always considered myself to be a strong, independent, and funny person. Some of my hobbies
include Netflix, Softball and Basketball. Every night I watch Netflix. I call it a hobby, but others
might call it an addiction. I watch about six hours of Netflix every day. The shows I watch include
'The Night Shift' which is consistent with the show 'Greysanatomy' but has more of a military
background. I also watch 'Stranger Things' this show is mainly about aliens and a warp in time that a
group of kids found. Although watching Netflix is great and all playing my sports heavily outweighs
watching tv on my priority list. One sport I play is softball. I am a two–time World Series Title
holder and although I am not going to college to play, I have been the MVP in both of those
tournaments. The other sport I play is Basketball, although my trophies are more about softball I
excelled in basketball and made All Conference every year of my high school years. I am naturally
talented and can play any position in both sports. Now being out of high school I have decided that
maybe it is time to peruse a new passion. Close a chapter in my book of life to open a new. This new
chapter will be me finding new goals in my life to live out. These goals include keeping a good
workout schedule, keeping my grades up while in school, and becoming an Anesthesiologist. I

The Culture Of Violence And The Cultures Of Impunity And...
"It may seem sometimes as if a culture of peace does not stand a chance against the culture of war,
the culture of violence and the cultures of impunity and intolerance. Peace may indeed be a complex
challenge, dependent on action in many fields and even a bit of luck from time to time. It may be a
painfully slow process, and fragile and imperfect when it is achieved. But peace is in our hands," –
Kofi Annan. Canada had assimilated an absurd "notion of Canada's roots as a 'white settler society',"

The Canadian government has improved, in many ways in terms of their treatments toward
immigrants and minorities; however the differences between the mistreatment in the 1900s and now
are very slim regarding issues such as the freedom, equal opportunities and justice of people of
different ethnics in society.
First of all, people of different ethnics immigrated to Canada for a better life, given that Canada is
considered to be a very accepting and welcoming place for everyone. The immigrants and minority
groups' freedom in Canada has significantly changed over the past 100 years. However, looking
further into the matter, it appears that history may be repeating itself, however in a different context.
For instance, during the 1900s, an abundance of immigrant groups and ethnic minorities had
endured harsh treatments and various hostile detainment centers due to their ancestry. The 20th
century was an excruciating long century filled with wars. During those wars, enemy aliens, such as
Ukrainians, Jews, Germans, Italians and Japanese , were treated with aggression and left to suffer
with little protection from the government. This displays the little freedom immigrants and
minorities had, considering they were taken from their homes to be pushed around and punished for
who they are and where they came from, due to their appearance and/or background. In other words,
they were imprisoned by the very people who were meant to

My Infatuation Of The Rocky Horror Picture Show
At just the age of eight, my mother took my younger sister along with me to a midnight showing of
the Rocky Horror Picture Show, and it was love at first screening. There was so much excitement
and enthusiasm bursting with energy in the audience that it was mesmerizing. That moment was re–
experienced repeatedly with the return to countless future showings. Moreover, when I attained the
age that I could attend without a chaperone, I would bring friends and introduce them to the
experience. Following in my mother's footsteps, I also acquainted my daughter with the film when I
felt it was time, as did my sister with her children. Consequently, the tradition will continue for
generations to come within our family. Rocky Horror Picture Show is not compatible with all
viewers, some will either love it or hate it. With no doubts, I can honestly declare my infatuation
with Rocky Horror Picture Show as my all–time favorite film based on the excitement and
experience it creates for the audience. To start with, Rocky Horror Picture Show is a cult classic
film. This production is an unbelievable parody blend of science fiction, horror movie, comedy, and

I learned many techniques on how to be a more successful and productive person. By learning how

‘Will This Matter a Year From Now'", "Breathe Before

It is scary!, but since reading the section on "Become a Less Aggressive Driver", I can really now
try and relax while driving. My work is based on driving because I deliver percriptions for a local
pharmacy, so I am in my car all of the time! So being able to relax and not speed through my
deliveries helps me to not care how soon I can make the next delivery, and I still get done close to
the same time. Its a little slower, but I've noticed that the five minutes of just taking my time really
helps so much because the stress that I have when I get out of my car lasts much longer than five
minutes. Plus, I can think of what I need to get done and organize my thoughts while driving,
instead of worrying about the traffic.
The last topic that I really liked was "The Next Time You Find Yourself in an
Argument, Rather than Defend Your Position, See if You Can See the Other Point of
View First". Being able to see the other side is hard for me to do. I am so stuborn. This technique is
one that I really wish that I could accomplish, but it is hard. Just knowing now that there is another
side to the story and the other person does have the same strong feelings that I have is just plain
confusing for me. I mean, it makes logical sense
, but I cannot make any sense of it. This technique does give me some sort of insight as to how
arguements work out, but still doesn't help me much, until I can find a way to view things
differently, and

The Concept of Time in Eugene O'Neill's Long Day's Journey into Night
The pre–Socratic Greek philosopher Heraclitus said in his theory of the Universal Flux that
"everything flows and nothing abides; everything gives way and nothing stays fixed. You cannot
step twice into the same river, for other waters and yet others go ever flowing on... Time is a child
moving counters in a game." (Allen 103)
And so it is with the characters in Eugene O'Neill's Long Day's Journey into Night. Time is little
more than a game in which they move as checkers, if not pawns. In their repetitions and habits, the
family seems to be stepping towards the same river again and again; but each time, the step falls into
a different stream. In its seeming ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fourth, who has nightmares, or at least night–frazzles, is Edmund's drug–addicted mother, Mary.
For her, all times is a time warp. She extrapolates from her present during her fits and, in essence,
almost dreams that she isn't in time at all.
Louis Sheaffer, says the loss of all sense of time by Mary is shown "as the mother, fathoms deep in
morphine, trails the now–bedraggled (wedding) gown on the floor while she rambles on vaguely
about seeking something she had lost." (Goldberg 3) But the loss of soul–in–time is even more
acutely shown in two other passages.
A foghorn continually bothers the characters all during the play, ostensibly drawing them back into
the present. At one point, Mary confides to the servant–girl after a foghorn blast, "It wasn't the fog I
minded Cathleen. It hides you from the world and the world from you... No one can find you or
touch you any more...It's the foghorn I hate. It won't let you alone. It keeps reminding you, and

"They'll do anything...to keep you coming to them. They'll sell their souls! What's worse, they'll

The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
The Universe is a mystery and our origins as a species are slowly unrevealing, however we are still
wondering how exactly we got here. Douglas Adams address this very question in his science–
fiction novel "Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy". A story about a human named Author who, after
witnessing the destruction of Earth, hitchhikes several rides throughout the Universe. Discovering
new worlds and conversing with several alien species with his longtime friend Ford, who Author
recently discovered was also an alien. Douglas Adams is highly known for his observational humor
and satire in his writings. His parody of politics, social commentary and references of pop–culture
are a constant, especially in "Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy". More often than Adam's humor in
"Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy" is the theme of travel in the Universe and space exploration. A
task man has only scratched the surface of but are slowly overcoming every day. While Douglas
Adams may be a science fiction writer not all of what he writes is fiction. There is truth to his work.
I plan to discover how Adams expresses space travel in "Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy" in both
scientific and science fiction aspects, and how has the science fiction genre changed our
understanding and perception of the universe.

My Experience Management : College Is Full Of New...
College Success: College is full of new adventures and challenges. I feel that it is my job to conquer
everything that comes my way. I may not be an expert, but I am aware that my old habits may
damage my future beyond immediate repair. Time management is what I need to work on. I am the
type of person to wait until the end to get anything done. I think that I can just do it later because I
have time. I usually end up stressing over the things that could have been handled at the beginning. I
am aware that I have time management issues, I am on the road to recovery. Understanding what I
need to fix is the best thing to know. Time management is a topic I do not like to discuss because it
is my biggest weakness. I am on a mission to make sure it becomes my strength. In high school, I
was the student that was waiting for the last day to study. I did not have a plan to gather my thoughts
about what I learned. It is important to practice time management before I reach a point of no return.
When I mention a point of no return, I mean a stressful path. All I can do is take small steps to make
my dream strength a reality. The step that I want to take to reach this goal is making sure I find a
place to put tasks that I need to accomplish. A planner will make me aware of things I need to stay
on top of, so I don't fall behind. My goal is to have good grades. Setting a deadline is a great way to
finish a task. I want to have an achievement to market myself for the future. A

Business and Cost Strategy Implemented for Time Warp 2
Introduction The strategy that was to be implemented for Time Warp 2 is as follows: 2012 2013
2014 2015 X5 $265/ 0% $265/0% $250/0% Discontinued X6 $440/50% $440/50% $440/50%
$420/0% X7 $150/50% $150/50% $150/50% $150/100% This strategy was based on the CVP
analysis that indicated that the company needs to discontinue the X5 for the 2015 year, and needs to
lower the price on the X7. The decision to raise the price for the X6 is based on the understanding
the for this premium product, the market can probably support a higher price. Results The results for
this strategy are as follows: 2012 2013 2014 2015 X5 Profit 151,182,710 83,101,400 1,822,181 0
X5 Saturation 54% 80% 95% 100% 2012 2013 2014 2015 X6 Profit 240,511,901 307,464,930

2015 Cumulative Profit 672,800,006 1,087,280,348 1,317,160,503 1,625,524,248 These results
show an improvement over the previous strategy. This improvement comes from a few different
places. With respect to the X5, the company clearly benefitted from the CVP analysis, because this
product was cut from the lineup, avoiding steep losses. The potential sales in 2015 were below the
breakeven point, so this product had to be removed from the lineup. As no changes were made to the
price point of this product,

Vinyl Collection Research Paper
Introduction Building your vinyl collection is an exciting hobby There is a plethora of ways to get
out there and build your collecting, including your local record stores, big box retailers who are now
selling vinyl, garage sales, online stores, thrift shops and I can go on forever!! It seems that just
about everywhere is selling vinyl records. Over the last few years' millions of brand new vinyl has
been pressed with the numbers continuing to climb upwards. The few big box music retailers have
begun stocking their shelves with vinyl once again, along with several unexpected retailers adding
vinyl to their line of products carried such as Whole Foods and even Cracker Barrel! The
availability of independent retailers are popping up in city and towns all across North America
almost weekly! There are plenty of places to purchase new vinyl, with a few of them not so obvious.
Below is provided a fairly detailed list of where to not only shop for new vinyl, but which retailers
are carrying newly pressed, hidden vinyl gems. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Used vinyl tends to be less in price and readily available since often vinyl collectors preserved their
records to an exceptional condition. However, with the vinyl boom in full force finding stacks of
used records is not as easy as it was five years ago. The value of used records has increased
significantly and many recognize this. Commonly, if a stockpile of used vinyl is for sale at a
reasonably low rate it is quickly snatched up by professional record buyers who hunt various
sources daily. I will send you well on your way to navigating the art of finding used

Individuals and Ideas Generated
QUESTION: No. 9 – IF YOU NEED TO GENERATE A LOT OF IDEAS IN A SHORT PERIOD
OF TIME, WOULD YOU HAVE A BUNCH OF INDIVIDUALS GENERATE IDEAS ON THEIR
OWN, OR WOULD YOU BAND THEM TOGETHER IN GROUPS? EXPLAIN. In order to
appropriately respond to this question, we would firstly need to have an unambiguous understanding
of exactly what needs to be responded to. It is clear the main issue is 'Groups' and as such, we will
define and explain what groups are, identify some types of groups and of course, analyse the
benefits and disadvantages of working in a group or by oneself. Simply put, a group can be defined
as two or more individuals interacting and interdependent, who have come together to achieve
particular objectives. A more complex ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This stage is necessary for growth of the team. Tolerance of each member and their differences will
be emphasized and can either move the group into success or failure. It is good to note that some
groups may never move out of this stage. Interestingly, once the Storming phase has been complete,
the group will now move into the third stage, referred to as 'Norming'. It is at this point where the
group manages to have one common goal and come to an agreement for the group. Some may have
to give up their own ideas and agree with the others for the interest of the entire group. All the team
members take up their various roles and begin to work towards the group's goals. Once this point is
reached, the group has now managed to attain the fourth stage, 'Performing'. Members are able to
function as a unit as they find ways to get the job done smoothly and effectively without
inappropriate conflict or the need for external supervision. Once these stages are experienced, and
the goal has been accomplished, in the case for temporary groups, the final stage will be the next
step, 'Adjourning'. As the mission has been a success, the group will begin to disband and members
will proceed to go their separate ways. Now that we've explained the stages of a group, and as
mentioned before, it has been found that people work better in groups, especially when a lot of ideas

Why Can Not One Change Time? By Tom Stoppard
Time is constant. No one has the power to stop it or to go back in it. Time cannot be changed for it is
timeless. With time being everlasting there is a mystery within time's boarders; why cannot one
change time? Arcadia by Tom Stoppard explores the lives of many individuals in two different time
periods but within the same setting, Sidley Park, which is a stately home. Within the first four scenes
of the play there is a shift between the two time periods 1809 and contemporary time period. Time is
omnipresent throughout the play, whatever happens will happen and time is constant regardless how
you measure it. In Geraldine Cousin's Playing for Time, Cousin explores the mystery of time's
immutability. She also explores the ideas of how the past always has a lingering effect on the future.
Then in John Fleming's Tom Stoppard's: Arcadia compliments on how time is equally woven
between the past and present. He also provokes the idea that one could split the play into two plays
by splitting up the two times. The mystery behind time in Stoppard's Arcadia is well defined. Time
is inevitable and connected, you cannot have the past without the present and future. Tom Stoppard
depicts that tie overlaps itself in order to show how chaos enables freewill.
Geraldine Cousin's Playing for Time presents a unique argument in her work. She talks about
Arcadia and another play Copenhagen and their use of time within it's work. With Arcadia especially
Cousin goes straight to the point. She

The American Dream: Freedom, Hard Work Guarantees Success...
There were many stories told of racism, of men and women breaking their backs working all day.
People have heard of homeless families dying on the streets, and signs swaying back and forth on
doors to restaurants forbidding different races to eat there. Is that the case now? Are there still dying
people lying on the cold ground with no food or families? Do people see horrific scenes of men and
women working in fields all day? Do families still have to witness an African American get up and
move to the back of a bus for a Caucasian? No, that is not the case anymore. America is a better
country now. In source E it says, "The chair in Washington sat had a sun, and the question was
asked, is it rising or setting?" This quote questions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Minorities are gaining more respect and are able to have a normal life. The different races, whites,
African Americas, Asians, and many more, are like a puzzle piece. Each race fits together and is
important to have. Every piece works and relies on each other. This shows that the races have
privileges and have freedom.
A second reason why America is not a nightmare is the idea that hard work guarantees success.
Many people are working hard each day and are finding results. An example would be source E.
This source states, "...that hard work and dedication still guarantees success." This means that
working hard and sacrificing your time to get something done will show results. There will be
progress and success. For example, in source B, it shows that a woman named Temple Grandin was
successful in life. Temple was an autistic woman since she was a young girl who faced her problems
and lived a normal life. In the text it says, "As a result, she has helped many people to reduce stress
on their animals during handling." This means that after all her hard work Temple has done she
ended up helping many people in her field of choice. Source B and source E are similar because
they both prove that hard work guarantees success. Temple Grandin, an autistic woman has
overcome her disorder to accomplish something that not many people would be able to do. Using
her special ability to "think in pictures", she has

This is a commentary by Jules Feiffer about "Maus", which is a survivor's tale created by Art
Spiegelman. As you can see from the commentary, this is a wonderful story, not only its the writing
but also the art. The author made the story interesting that attracts many readers by changing many
things from the first 3 –page version of Maus. To analyse this story, first of all, we need to

Spiegelman focuses on many things in this story and the events in 1940s made them connected. In

The author wanted to focus on the emotion of characters who lived in this period. Because this is a
graphic novel, the art is also an important things to analyse. It can support the character's emotion in
the writing. While the first story is painted cartoonishly because it's a bedtime story for children, the
latter one is painted realistically. It makes sense with the style of writing. Spiegelman didn't write
realistically but the art is cartoonish. Realistic art can show the real emotion of the characters. As we
can see in chapter 2, when Vladek spilled his pill box twice, his face and his action showed
embarrassment. When the author wrote about the difficult times in the 1940s, the painting
represented the difficult life condition. The way that he drew a rat when Vladek and Anja lived in
Kawka's cellar was very meaningful. In Western countries, rat is the animal that many people
scared. In general, it's hard to find a rat in a Western's house. So this was a really hard life condition
of Vladek's family. We can also see that although Vladek was very scared with rat, he still kept Anja
pacing. Readers can understand clearly about not only Vladek and Anja's hard condition but also the
true love of Vladek to Anja. It supports many things that were focused in writing. In this manner, the
images are fitted together classically. Each is drawn in a square and the script is above. It makes
readers easy to read the writing and see the picture. It isn't a very

Grossman Grow Up Not So Fast Analysis
The story "Grow Up? Not So Fast" was taken from Time magazine on January 16, 2005 from writer,

to English professors, which essentially inspired him to become the writer he is today. From his
childhood, adolescence, to his college years he read a lot and eventually gained a career in writing,
his passion. The first novel of his that was published was called, "Warp" in 1997, followed by
"Codex" in 2004, which was an international sensation. Interspersed with his career in writing
successful novels, Grossman has been a book critic at Time magazine, he has analyzed many stories

the age of 18 to 25 who just will not grow up. Grossman goes on to argue in various ways to appeal
to the readers emotional, ethical, and logical senses throughout his story. Grossman concentrates his
story with what seems to be real life examples, people in today's society considered twixters, which
embody every ounce of this new identity. They do not own their own house, they have had many
jobs, they are not married nor do they have kids, and some even live at home. He then goes on to
argue why this new subculture came to be and what this new subculture entails, filling each with
personal examples from real life people and every now and then comparing them to the past as to
show how bad things are. However, there are a few instances in Grossman's piece that he fails to hit
the mark, and some instances where he blatantly ignores an aspect of it just to prove his point, which

Black Holes: Forces of Gravity Essay
Science has always been about analyzing the hard facts in front of you, even if they might be
invisible to the naked eye. Sizable leaps in our understanding about the mechanisms of life and our
universe are in the process of being made with scientists believing black holes are the major
precipice to these greater understandings. Black holes push and break many modern understandings
of physics and time with many mysterious qualities. Insuppressible forces of nature, black holes, are
a little understood entity in our universe with a strong influence on modern science.
Despite modern culture and its influences on the unknown, a black hole is not a well understood
concept even by the greatest of minds. Robert Prigo describes a black hole as "... ... Show more

Light is the fastest entity in the known universe, making black holes the strongest known object. At
least knowing how big one is would allow for some creativity, but describing a black hole's size is
yet another issue. When you're trying to ask someone how big something is you're going to be
referring to the space it takes up. In this regard, a black hole can range from being smaller than an
atom, to millions of times larger than our sun, or really any size in principal. "Any amount of mass
at all can [...] be made to form a black hole if you compress it to a high enough density." (Bunn)
Density, the compactness of an object, is a better way of describing a black hole because the way we
think of size has no meaning here. You could also talk about its mass, or the sheer amount of
material inside of it, but that is hard to quantify. For example, a black hole the size of an atom may
contain all of the masses of our greatest mountains, but you can imagine something like that must be
very dense. Either way, there are two common models for what a black hole could look like. If a
black hole is spinning, then it's likely that the material inside of it is being compressed into a
rotating disk of particles. On the other hand, a regular black hole is likely just to be a perfect sphere.
Anything outside of the black hole's insides may also display unique properties, such as giving off
electricity, emitting radiation or streams of light, and debris may orbit the

What Makes Robert Zemeckis Movie Back To The Future
Director Robert Zemeckis has many trademarks in his movies such as his protagonist getting in a
bar fight, rarely using a fixed camera, and often casting the same actors in various movies (Robert
Zemeckis). Many of Zemeckis's movies, like Forrest Gump, Castaway, Back to the Future, and Back
to the Future Part II cover years long time periods throughout the course of the movie. These four
movies all have in common the fact that because of the long amount of time that the films cover and
a change in history occurs because of an event that happens or the discovery of something new.
When these events happen, they usually change the future. Changes made to the future are a result
of time perception throughout the movie. Director Robert Zemeckis uses different theories on the
relativity of time to show that humans should not constrain themselves to the world they live in, or
to their past, because altering time may change history as history is currently known. One of the first
components to analyzing how Robert Zemeckis uses time throughout his movies is understanding
the two–different time based theories. The first theory of these two involves the more commonly
used definition of time. Mary and John Gribbin are the authors of the book Time & Space in which
they describe the two definitions of time. Time "flow" is the basis of the first ... Show more content

Wormholes Informative Speech
Have you ever imagined what it would be like if you could travel to a different universe? What
about traveling to a different time or era, where you could see why dinosaurs had become extinct or
seeing that flying cars would be a common transportation for the future of this world? Well, let me
introduce you to a mysterious concept you may have heard before: wormholes. Many people in this
world, believe that wormholes only exist behind the adventures of science–fiction, and do not exist
in real life, but I think it could. I believe that someday, in the future, the human race will be able to
use wormholes and reach areas in the universe that haven't been discovered by anyone before. By
learning what a wormhole actually is, how the concept of wormholes was formed, and analyzing the
research scientists have done up to this date, you might see for yourself that wormholes could be an
actual occurring phenomenon. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In simple words, a wormhole is a hypothetical opening through space–time, that is a shortcut for
long, and extensive journeys across the universe. To be specific, according to theoretical physicists
Albert Einstein and Nathan Rosen, a wormhole is distorted space that has warped in a way that
connects two different points in normal space–time. The outcome is theorized as a tunnel–like
structure that could be straight or curved, connecting two areas of the universe, or possibly even
different universes that are incredibly distant. Wormholes are also believed to connect two different
space–times, which means the outcome would be in a completely different era; either the future or
the past of a universe. By going through wormholes, it is possible to travel to two different regions,
faster than the speed of light, through normal space–time. Wormholes are presumed by the theory of
general relativity which is the modern theory of gravitation, proposed in 1915, by physicist Albert

The Unreality Of Time By E Mctaggart
'How did McTaggart try to establish the unreality of time and did he succeed?'
J.M.E McTaggart's 'The Unreality of Time' is respected today as his foremost and best known work
within Academia. It is appropriate that this work shares the title of one of his most enduring
Philosophical projects, establishing that Time is unreal or does not exist. In regards to the question
'Did He Succeed?' while being a perfectly typical critical Philosophical essay topic, it would be
beyond the scope of this essay to definitively say Yes or No. The standards of Western Philosophy
just seem to be that for any of those enduring questions that have been the topic of study for in some
cases nearly three thousand years in the discipline to be said to be definitively answered, the
standard and breadth of evidence would be so great that no one would be asking if a Philosopher
really did succeed in his project nearly a century after his death. So in this essay I will discuss how
McTaggart attempted to establish the unreality of time, but in the context of not trying to argue he
actually established it beyond doubt. McTaggart sought to establish the unreality of time by means
of demonstrating how flawed conventional conceptions within Philosophy of Time were. So I will
also seek to demonstrate he did at least establish that current conceptions of time were flawed and
throw serious doubt upon then. As is only appropriate for the scale of his project, which McTaggart
himself called 'A great[er]

Strategy Analysis of Time Warp 2's Tablet Sales
Time Warp 2 was carried out with the following strategy: 2012 2013 2014 2015 X5 $265/ 0%
$265/0% $257/0% Discontinued X6 $474/50% $474/50% $474/0% $474/0% X7 $117/50%
$117/50% $117/100% $117/100% With this strategy, the objectives are as follows. The X5 is going
to sell out, and the company wants to sell out this product at the highest possible price that will still
result in a sellout. The X6 has sold out in the past, but the new pricing strategy for the X6 has the
objective of profit maximization, rather than maximizing unit sales. The analysis has therefore given
this a much higher price. The X7 has a much lower price. The analysis revealed that the greatest
economic value added was going to be if the unit sales were high, but some profits were maintained.
The price points were determined by taking into consideration two different factors. The first is
cost–volume–profit analysis. Using this analysis, the amount of contribution per price point was
determined. This told us a few useful things, such as when to cancel the X5, and how low the price
on the X7 could go without costing the company profit. In addition, the price elasticity of demand
was determined through careful study of past time warps. With the elasticity slope and the
contribution margin, the point of maximum profit could be determined. These price points are only
good for a given R&D expenditure level, but were expected to be optimized for those levels. The
result of this set of

Summary Of Golden Retrievals By Mark Doty
In his poem, "Golden Retrievals", Mark Doty writes about a dog that wants to play. It takes great joy
in a "thrillingly dead thing" (6) and "sniff[s] the wind" (4) in search of fun. Still, the dog is not
satisfied. It notices its owner sulking over the past, so, through disjointed thoughts and sporadic
style, it tries to help its owner forget about the past. Doty writes his poem through the perspective of
a dog, utilizing structure to convey a sense of playfulness that highlights the importance of living in
the moment. The poem's organization by stanzas mimics the dog's train of thought. The dog "sniff[s]

The Importance Of Perseverance In Tenth Of December
Perseverance is the steady persistence in a course of action, especially despite difficulties, obstacles,
or discouragement. In this course we went over five novels that have had this them worked into
them. this theme is expressed through characters and the novels as a whole.
The novel Tenth of December by George Saunders, I picked the chapter "Tenth of December" to
discuss perseverance. In this chapter, Saunders uses a post–modern style of writing to illustrate and
critique one of the main characters in the chapter, Don Eber. He believes that because of is his
sickness that makes him a burden to his family, and he is not worthy of life. then a little boy named
Robin ruined Eder's desire of suicide by almost dying himself. Eber acts fast and he saves Robin,
and he returns him home safely. In that moment, Eber realizes that his life has meaning. He must
fight is sickness and make the best out of what little time he has left. Everyone has a role to play in
this life. Saunders designed the dialogue to be a back and forth subconscious dialogue between
Robin and Eber. This represents the symbiotic relationship between Robin and Eber, and how Robin
gives Eber a reason to live. This story critiques the main character's (Eber's) idea of what self–worth
is.

abundance of time is the only phenomenon to which the inmates are climatized. King communicates
that time can either benefit or inhibit the outcome of an individual's life, based upon their level of
determination. Time can become a consuming and draining force, evident through the character of
Red, a man convicted at an early age, who sunk into the swamp of time, unclear of how to function
outside of his flourishing world of time. The unyielding nature of time is utilized to cast Andy– a
smart, young banker, who was dealt the wrong cards and convicted of the ... Show more content on

King showcases this idea through how the inmates within Shawshank have been so tainted by
boredom, lack of hope, despair, and guilt, that they know nothing beyond the confinements of the
walls and have accepted confinement as their fate; condemning them to a lifeless existence. Andy
illustrates drive that delivers him opportunities to remain standing within a world of blank existence.
King succeeds in demonstrating that life hangs on the balance of time, a scale that can either rise or
fall based upon the actions and intention of the individual as they seek out life. " ... get busy living

How to Be Independent in a Relationship?
Often, if you look around, you will find that most people give utmost importance to their partners.
Surely, it is a good sign, until you reach the state wherein you constantly think about ways to keep
him//her happy. So what does it take to be independent in a relationship, without jeopardizing your
own happiness? Well, for most, the idea of an independent relationship relates to be able to go out
with pals, relaxing on a Sunday morning and having some sort of command over the remote when
watching television with the partner.
The List of Do's
To be independent in a relationship, certain things must be observed with care. The following points
may be useful to you:
Create Your Own Space: Sometimes it is very easy to lose yourself in a ... Show more content on

Identify the things that you do not want to sacrifice for your lover and make short/ long term plans
without him/her.
Don't Keep A Constant Check: Pledging to be independent, while chatting with your partner over
the phone every 5 minutes does not count. You need to disconnect with your partner to pursue your
own interests like reading a book or exercising in order to maintain the person you are.
Try Out New Things: When your partner wants to introduce something new to you, embrace the
opportunity. Give it a try and if you don't like it, don't be afraid to express your aversion.
Right or Wrong: If you feel that your partner does not appreciate the best version of you, it's time
you seriously thought about your relationship. If you are made for him and vice versa, the
relationship will feel right and you will be able to realize your full potential.
The "Do Not Try" List
Relationships are tricky and very difficult to maintain for long without major friction due to minor
issues. Surely this may force you to contemplate on "how to be more independent in a relationship"?
Here is a list of things you must avoid, if you want to be independent in a relationship:
Don't Be Depended: It feels nice when your partner steps in to comfort you during times of anxiety
and pressure. It may seem to be the right thing to do, when the whole world turns against you. But is
it worth it? Fight

A Long Way Gone Narrative Report
Michael: Please, travel to the year 3000.
Ship: Calculating... Year 3000.
Multiple buttons flash, chairs pop up from the floor and "Please fasten seatbelt" light is turned on. A
woman starts speaking over the video monitor about the many warnings and cautions of time
traveling. Also how it could take time to arrive to the destination.
Ship: Prepare to travel!
Blue lights flash and the seatbelts release Michael. Kitchen, Bathroom and Living room lights all
turn on.
Michael: Captain, come in. the first trip was successful approaching the black hole now.
Captain: Great, good luck let me know upon arrival to your destination.
Sitting in the bed.
Michael: Lights Off
(Couple of hours later)
Alarms are going off, red lights are flashing, and the seats have been raised from the floor.
Ship: Warning! Black hole approaching! Initiate speed boost! Warning! Black hole approaching!

This theory says that space and time are really aspects of the same thing–space–time. There's a
speed limit of 300,000 kilometers per second (or 186,000 miles per second) for anything that travels
through space–time, and light always travels the speed limit through empty space. ("Is Time Travel
Possible")
Explaining, the light travels at the speed limit needed to travel through time when in empty space. It
also explains in the article, "Time goes slower for you than for the people you left behind. One
would not notice this effect until you return to those stationary people." Continuing the fact that
when in space if one were to travel at that speed time goes slower. Explaining if one lived in space
for a certain number of years, when you returned to earth the people will be visibly aged more than

Displacement And Delay Of Photography
Displacement and Delay in Photography
"Photography endows place with a certain freedom, liberating place from the commitment to a
specific point in time and space, exposing some generic dimension that exists there, enables place to
be a 'sort of place' (...)." Taking into account the sentence of Miki Kratsman, I would like to present
his photographs entitled Territory and the way in which they relate to the concepts of space and
time. First, it is necessary to emphasize that the author, born in Argentina and later having
immigrated to Israel, during his career has often documented the difficult Israeli–Palestinian
situation. Moreover, his interest in reporting from this area of conflict is significant since he appears
as "one of the few Israeli journalists who still cross the border today" The project "Territory" was
realized in 2005, seven months before the evacuation of Israeli settlements present in the South of
the Gaza Strip. Thus, the photos do not show the direct conflict between two populations or what
remains of a place tormented by war, on the contrary, they exhibit a zone, an agglomerate of houses
and lives about to disappear forever. Although when Kratzman has reached Gush Katif only a small
part of the inhabitants has already left their home, what emerges through the images is a feeling of
absolute desolation and emptiness. Therefore, despite its being populated, this piece of land seems to

  • 3. In the Park by Gwen Hardwood Harwood's "In the Park" describes the bitter frustration of the role of an unidentifiable mother depicted by society. A park creates an image of a relaxing setting, with the isolation of benches and individuals happily strolling about. However, Gwen Harwood's Petrarchan sonnet, "In the Park", illustrates the park as a depressing, lonely, and negative atmosphere. The mother's destruction of identity is renowned through the symbol of time as well as this negative and gloomy imagery. The mother's frustrations of the societal expectations of motherhood have led to the destruction of her personal identity. Harwood uses the symbol of time to recognize that the mother's life has become tiring, boring and repetitive and portrays the life of this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The ex–lover thinks of his thankfulness to have escaped the past misfortune of the woman and the future of misery that she will endure. The lover also indicates that "Time holds great surprises" (6) meaning that time has brought three children that have taken over, taking the living out of her life, which the lover has so ironically escaped some time ago. Time has resulted in the mother living for the children but not for her own self, resulting in her identity never being recreated. In the sestet, time is shown through "birthdays" (10) and, "watching them grow" (11). This is the first reference of time made in the present and the future tense. It is the first positive point in reference to time rather then the conversation of escape and regret of the past. It shows the attempt of the mother's display of false happiness in present time as she sits in the park. She struggles to reassure herself, while trying to convince the lover that her future will be content, ideally giving herself a false identity. Throughout the poem the use of time as a symbol of identity obliteration promotes the high expected potential of mothers, set by society. The mother's struggle for identity is also presented through the poem's depressing imagery as well as the figurative and literal language. The first quatrain states the sad, regretful statement of "too late" (4). This imagery of loneliness is reflected upon the passion and pain involved with her once lover. When the ... Time Is An Illusion, By Albert Einstein "Time is an illusion." – Albert Einstein "How may the experience of time be so intimately familiar, while the concept of time so resistant to verbal description[?]" – J.T. Fraser I laid shivering and trembling uncontrollably on the MRI table as I heard the voice of a young technician telling me over an intercom to "stay as still as possible, otherwise we'll have to repeat the tests again." He monotonically assured me that "it should take about 45 minutes to an hour" to produce a full MRI, MRA, and angiogram of my brain. As I was slowly entered into the impossibly tight machine, I closed my eyes and began to mentally keep track of time. One minute...two minutes...nine minutes. Early into the test however, my time keeping was unnoticeably overrun by anxious thoughts. What if they actually find a tumor in my head? What then? At the very least I'll finally have an explanation for the past few months. I suddenly realized that I had unmindfully stopped counting the minutes and had lost track of time. Shit! How long have I been in here? I think I was at nine minutes, or was it 19? No, it couldn't have been that long. I felt an overwhelming sense of panic started to build up, and had became increasingly frightened. I could not distinguish if a moment lasted for a few seconds or for a few minutes, and I didn't dare opening my eyes. The notion of "time keeping" is so engraved into our everyday lives as human beings that it becomes difficult to objectively extract one solid definition. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Those kids in the audience singing along, chanting and throwing things, yeah, I was one of them. Been there, done that too many times to count. So, I was excited to watch this movie for my critique. But that excitement quickly disappeared when the movie started. The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let's Do the Time Warp Again tips its hat to those roots with an usherette (Ivy Levan) welcoming costumed fans into a midnight screening of the new movie. The show occasionally cuts back to the audience during the production to see those on–screen audience members reacting to what they're seeing. Instead of replicating the wild joy of the actual crowds who still flock to midnight showings to shout at the screen, myself included, it only serves to heighten the artifice of the whole ordeal. The charm that went along with the original was wiped out and replaced with Fox's Glee–ified style. We're introduced to Brad and Janet played by Ryan McCartan and Victoria Justice. While they don't embody that joyful square–ness of the original cast, they still have an innocence to them. Laverne Cox stars as Dr. Franke–n–furter and while I usually love her, the performance was sub par. You can tell Kenny Ortega was trying to liven it up and bring it into the 21st century, but once again it had the cheesy flash of a Disney production. Ortega was focused on capturing the weirdness of the original movie but either forgot, or unsuccessfully acknowledged the campiness that was such a huge part of the originals success. Despite the flashy and athletic performances of the high kicking cast, something was clearly lost in transition. We were driving in a small minivan down the highway and I had been staring off in the distance most of the half hour long trip. "Oh my, way too many times to count, Ben". He smiled and glanced over to me. "One time I went up to the podium to start a hymn at a wedding and completely forgot how it started! I had to ask someone else to help me out." He chuckled to himself and then resumed. "Performing is a strange process. You think you're prepared to perform, but when you go to finally do it, your body goes crazy. Your mouth gets dry, your knees shake, and you sometimes mess up. You can't just linger on that failure though. It shouldn't stop you from doing something you love!" I nodded my head in agreement. Performing was something I had been thinking about lately; something that had truly impacted my life. I have been involved on stage numerous times through my nineteen years of living, and I still don't understand the troubling process of performing yet. Cool and collective people, in normal circumstances, turn into babbling victims of stage fright once they get in front of a crowd. Experts who have acted for their whole life, forget lines on stage. Palms get sweaty, focusing becomes harder, knees begin to quiver, and time begins to warp to a slow crawl. The first time I can remember performing formally in front of people was at a Sunday morning service ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Also, thanks to the internet, there are hundreds of music sharing websites available to people like Youtube, Itunes, Napster, and Pandora Radio. It is easy to claim that music is omnipresent in today's modern society and that it has a profound affect on how people behave. It is amazing how music can alter a person's attitude. Also, constant exposure to alcohol and drug references in songs makes young women more likely to use or abuse these substances later in life. In the song "Shots" by LMFAO, there is a part where people are told "If you ain't getting drunk get the fuck out the club" (LMFAO). The song also refers to the "alcoholics" in the room many times. This is promoting an the idea that the only way to have a good time is to be completely intoxicated. Another song that promotes excessive drinking is "Drink to That" by Rihanna. When a teenage girl hears a role model, like Rhianna, talk about getting drunk every weekend they are more likely to follow in her foot steps. According to Addiction Treatment Magazine, "It's been suggested that music influences adolescents more than at any other period of their lives. • 15. Analysis Of Bright Star By John Keats In the famous poem "Bright Star", dedicated to his lover Fanny Brawne, John Keats presents the essence of love in passion and in depth. As its form, a combination of Shakespearean and Italian sonnets suggests, the poem portrays love as a subject full of seemingly contradictive qualities. As a subjective matter, love is active and passive, physical and spiritual, mutable and eternal at the same time. Holding immortal love as the ultimate value of life, the speaker imagines a brave possibility of love transcending life for his romantic belief. In the beginning of the poem, the speaker presents love as a subjective matter by contrasting it with the significant image of the star, a symbol of divine objectivity. Since long ago, man has learned to observe stars for its "steadfastness" for directions and guidance (1). Thus in western culture, star is seen as a prophetic divine existence, a form of absolute truth or universal rule, above all arbitrary and relative beings on earth. The speaker then implies love to be the opposite by emphasizing the star's incapability of worldly emotions and personal perspectives by applying the metaphor of "Eremite" (4). The stoic hermit or recluse under religious vow sacrifices personal feelings and preferences in order to obtain absolute truth. Hence, the speaker perceives love as a subjective matter, unrelated to the absolute. In line 6, the metaphor of "mask" also proves such assumption: Only by covering the objects, the snow, amorphous ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sartre and Brooks' Literary Critiques: Analysis of Memory and Time in Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury "History is the witness that testifies to the passing of time." Cicero presaged the study of historical memory and conceptions of time, which assumes that what and how we remember molds our past into something more than a chronological succession of events. Ever more appreciative of the subjectivity of recollection, we grasp that without memory, time passes away as little more than sterile chronology. In literary as well as literal history, time derives its meaning from Bergson's "duration" – time as personal consciousness (322). In Faulkner's fiction, duration is a centerpiece, even as chronology fails. Such is the case in The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sartre argues convincingly that the future does not exist for the Compsons; there is only a continued renewal of the present. The present is riddled with gaps through which "things of the past . . . invade it." Thus past and present are collapsed into one, where "the present moves along in the shadow . . . and reappears only when it itself is past" (266–67). History for Faulkner's characters is composed of "emotional constellations" which define the past in terms of resurfacing personal experience. Thus, there is no perspective other than of the heart, and the past becomes "an obsession" (268). Certainly this is true of Quentin, but I think Sartre could use this well–turned analysis toward a fresh interpretation of Jason, whom most critics cast as totally unconcerned with the past (assuming, I believe, that the past for all the Compsons is, like Quentin's, driven by honor). In fact, memory compels Jason as powerfully as it does Quentin. An obsessive quest to make up for the time lost to broken promises fuels his existence. His hatred of Miss Quentin and his theft from her is not just real–time animosity or miserliness, but a manifestation of his continually growing resentment of Caddy, whom he blames for all his troubles. Every cruelty, every dollar allows him to claim what he feels would have been his. When Quentin steals Jason's money, she lays waste to his investment in getting even. For those of us stuck on the I5 in rush hour traffic, the thought of reaching your destination in a matter of seconds, it's a godsend. Unfortunately, the laws of physics currently prohibit our society from traveling faster than the speed of light; or even close to that speed for that matter. The limitations of our time hinder the possibilities for some of the travel used in the series, however, this does not exclude every concept of propulsion illustrated in the show. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In class we watched a short clip of the Enterprise stuck in a time loop. The end result was consistently the destruction of the ship when another vessel in the loop crashes into it. In the end, Data speculates the tractor beam will not work and follows the idea of Commander Riker. The quick decision was based upon something an undergraduate physicist would have learned in the first few weeks of an introductory course; momentum. By "decompressing the main shuttle bay" Data was able to release enough air to help push the Enterprise out of harm's way, saving the lives of the crew and removing the ship from this loop. The gas that escaped the ship after the main shuttle bay was decompressed applied an equal and opposite force on the ship as it left. This force gave the ship enough of a push to clear the collision path. Thinking more generally, when a fire hose is sprayed there is a force from the hose that pushes away from the direction of the water. This suggests that technology such as hover craft may one day be possible. Most applicably, the idea helps illustrate how shuttles maintain orbital speed or how WALL–E is able to move through space with a fire extinguisher. Another concept that goes along with this kind of thinking, is the explanation of inertial dampers. When taking off in a plane, there is a force exerted on the passenger by the seat. First of all, people of different ethnics immigrated to Canada for a better life, given that Canada is considered to be a very accepting and welcoming place for everyone. The immigrants and minority groups' freedom in Canada has significantly changed over the past 100 years. During those wars, enemy aliens, such as Ukrainians, Jews, Germans, Italians and Japanese , were treated with aggression and left to suffer with little protection from the government. You cannot step twice into the same river, for other waters and yet others go ever flowing on... Time is a child moving counters in a game." (Allen 103) And so it is with the characters in Eugene O'Neill's Long Day's Journey into Night. Time is little more than a game in which they move as checkers, if not pawns. • 43. Why Can Not One Change Time? By Tom Stoppard Time is constant. No one has the power to stop it or to go back in it. Time cannot be changed for it is timeless. With time being everlasting there is a mystery within time's boarders; why cannot one change time? Arcadia by Tom Stoppard explores the lives of many individuals in two different time periods but within the same setting, Sidley Park, which is a stately home. Within the first four scenes of the play there is a shift between the two time periods 1809 and contemporary time period. Time is omnipresent throughout the play, whatever happens will happen and time is constant regardless how you measure it. In Geraldine Cousin's Playing for Time, Cousin explores the mystery of time's immutability. She also explores the ideas of how the past always has a lingering effect on the future. Then in John Fleming's Tom Stoppard's: Arcadia compliments on how time is equally woven between the past and present. He also provokes the idea that one could split the play into two plays by splitting up the two times. The mystery behind time in Stoppard's Arcadia is well defined. Time is inevitable and connected, you cannot have the past without the present and future. Tom Stoppard depicts that tie overlaps itself in order to show how chaos enables freewill. Geraldine Cousin's Playing for Time presents a unique argument in her work. She talks about Arcadia and another play Copenhagen and their use of time within it's work. With Arcadia especially Cousin goes straight to the point. She ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 45. The American Dream: Freedom, Hard Work Guarantees Success... There were many stories told of racism, of men and women breaking their backs working all day. People have heard of homeless families dying on the streets, and signs swaying back and forth on doors to restaurants forbidding different races to eat there. Is that the case now? Are there still dying people lying on the cold ground with no food or families? Do people see horrific scenes of men and women working in fields all day? Do families still have to witness an African American get up and move to the back of a bus for a Caucasian? No, that is not the case anymore. America is a better country now. In source E it says, "The chair in Washington sat had a sun, and the question was asked, is it rising or setting?" This quote questions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Minorities are gaining more respect and are able to have a normal life. The different races, whites, African Americas, Asians, and many more, are like a puzzle piece. Each race fits together and is important to have. Every piece works and relies on each other. This shows that the races have privileges and have freedom. A second reason why America is not a nightmare is the idea that hard work guarantees success. Many people are working hard each day and are finding results. An example would be source E. This source states, "...that hard work and dedication still guarantees success." This means that working hard and sacrificing your time to get something done will show results. There will be progress and success. For example, in source B, it shows that a woman named Temple Grandin was successful in life. Temple was an autistic woman since she was a young girl who faced her problems and lived a normal life. In the text it says, "As a result, she has helped many people to reduce stress on their animals during handling." This means that after all her hard work Temple has done she ended up helping many people in her field of choice. Source B and source E are similar because they both prove that hard work guarantees success. Temple Grandin, an autistic woman has overcome her disorder to accomplish something that not many people would be able to do. Using her special ability to "think in pictures", she has ... Brilliant, just brilliant." –Jules Feiffer (1) This is a commentary by Jules Feiffer about "Maus", which is a survivor's tale created by Art Spiegelman. As you can see from the commentary, this is a wonderful story, not only its the writing but also the art. The author made the story interesting that attracts many readers by changing many things from the first 3 –page version of Maus. While the first story is painted cartoonishly because it's a bedtime story for children, the latter one is painted realistically. It makes sense with the style of writing. Spiegelman didn't write realistically but the art is cartoonish. Realistic art can show the real emotion of the characters. As we can see in chapter 2, when Vladek spilled his pill box twice, his face and his action showed embarrassment. When the author wrote about the difficult times in the 1940s, the painting represented the difficult life condition. The way that he drew a rat when Vladek and Anja lived in Kawka's cellar was very meaningful. In Western countries, rat is the animal that many people scared. In general, it's hard to find a rat in a Western's house. So this was a really hard life condition of Vladek's family. We can also see that although Vladek was very scared with rat, he still kept Anja pacing. Readers can understand clearly about not only Vladek and Anja's hard condition but also the true love of Vladek to Anja. It supports many things that were focused in writing. In this manner, the images are fitted together classically. Each is drawn in a square and the script is above. It makes readers easy to read the writing and see the picture. It isn't a very ... Grossman concentrates his story with what seems to be real life examples, people in today's society considered twixters, which embody every ounce of this new identity. They do not own their own house, they have had many jobs, they are not married nor do they have kids, and some even live at home. He then goes on to argue why this new subculture came to be and what this new subculture entails, filling each with personal examples from real life people and every now and then comparing them to the past as to show how bad things are. Sizable leaps in our understanding about the mechanisms of life and our universe are in the process of being made with scientists believing black holes are the major precipice to these greater understandings. Black holes push and break many modern understandings of physics and time with many mysterious qualities. Insuppressible forces of nature, black holes, are a little understood entity in our universe with a strong influence on modern science. Despite modern culture and its influences on the unknown, a black hole is not a well understood concept even by the greatest of minds. Robert Prigo describes a black hole as "... ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Light is the fastest entity in the known universe, making black holes the strongest known object. At least knowing how big one is would allow for some creativity, but describing a black hole's size is yet another issue. When you're trying to ask someone how big something is you're going to be referring to the space it takes up. In this regard, a black hole can range from being smaller than an atom, to millions of times larger than our sun, or really any size in principal. "Any amount of mass at all can [...] be made to form a black hole if you compress it to a high enough density." (Bunn) Density, the compactness of an object, is a better way of describing a black hole because the way we think of size has no meaning here. You could also talk about its mass, or the sheer amount of material inside of it, but that is hard to quantify. For example, a black hole the size of an atom may contain all of the masses of our greatest mountains, but you can imagine something like that must be very dense. Either way, there are two common models for what a black hole could look like. If a black hole is spinning, then it's likely that the material inside of it is being compressed into a rotating disk of particles. On the other hand, a regular black hole is likely just to be a perfect sphere. Anything outside of the black hole's insides may also display unique properties, such as giving off electricity, emitting radiation or streams of light, and debris may orbit the ... What Makes Robert Zemeckis Movie Back To The Future Director Robert Zemeckis has many trademarks in his movies such as his protagonist getting in a bar fight, rarely using a fixed camera, and often casting the same actors in various movies (Robert Zemeckis). Many of Zemeckis's movies, like Forrest Gump, Castaway, Back to the Future, and Back to the Future Part II cover years long time periods throughout the course of the movie. These four movies all have in common the fact that because of the long amount of time that the films cover and a change in history occurs because of an event that happens or the discovery of something new. When these events happen, they usually change the future. Changes made to the future are a result of time perception throughout the movie. Director Robert Zemeckis uses different theories on the relativity of time to show that humans should not constrain themselves to the world they live in, or to their past, because altering time may change history as history is currently known. One of the first components to analyzing how Robert Zemeckis uses time throughout his movies is understanding the two–different time based theories. What about traveling to a different time or era, where you could see why dinosaurs had become extinct or seeing that flying cars would be a common transportation for the future of this world? Well, let me introduce you to a mysterious concept you may have heard before: wormholes. Many people in this world, believe that wormholes only exist behind the adventures of science–fiction, and do not exist in real life, but I think it could. I believe that someday, in the future, the human race will be able to use wormholes and reach areas in the universe that haven't been discovered by anyone before. By learning what a wormhole actually is, how the concept of wormholes was formed, and analyzing the research scientists have done up to this date, you might see for yourself that wormholes could be an actual occurring phenomenon. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In simple words, a wormhole is a hypothetical opening through space–time, that is a shortcut for long, and extensive journeys across the universe. To be specific, according to theoretical physicists Albert Einstein and Nathan Rosen, a wormhole is distorted space that has warped in a way that connects two different points in normal space–time. The outcome is theorized as a tunnel–like structure that could be straight or curved, connecting two areas of the universe, or possibly even different universes that are incredibly distant. Wormholes are also believed to connect two different space–times, which means the outcome would be in a completely different era; either the future or the past of a universe. J.M.E McTaggart's 'The Unreality of Time' is respected today as his foremost and best known work within Academia. It is appropriate that this work shares the title of one of his most enduring Philosophical projects, establishing that Time is unreal or does not exist. In regards to the question 'Did He Succeed?' while being a perfectly typical critical Philosophical essay topic, it would be beyond the scope of this essay to definitively say Yes or No. The standards of Western Philosophy just seem to be that for any of those enduring questions that have been the topic of study for in some cases nearly three thousand years in the discipline to be said to be definitively answered, the standard and breadth of evidence would be so great that no one would be asking if a Philosopher really did succeed in his project nearly a century after his death. So in this essay I will discuss how McTaggart attempted to establish the unreality of time, but in the context of not trying to argue he actually established it beyond doubt. McTaggart sought to establish the unreality of time by means of demonstrating how flawed conventional conceptions within Philosophy of Time were. So I will also seek to demonstrate he did at least establish that current conceptions of time were flawed and throw serious doubt upon then. The X5 is going to sell out, and the company wants to sell out this product at the highest possible price that will still result in a sellout. The X6 has sold out in the past, but the new pricing strategy for the X6 has the objective of profit maximization, rather than maximizing unit sales. The analysis has therefore given this a much higher price. The X7 has a much lower price. The analysis revealed that the greatest economic value added was going to be if the unit sales were high, but some profits were maintained. The price points were determined by taking into consideration two different factors. The first is cost–volume–profit analysis. Using this analysis, the amount of contribution per price point was determined. This told us a few useful things, such as when to cancel the X5, and how low the price on the X7 could go without costing the company profit. In addition, the price elasticity of demand was determined through careful study of past time warps. With the elasticity slope and the contribution margin, the point of maximum profit could be determined. These price points are only good for a given R&D expenditure level, but were expected to be optimized for those levels. The result of this set of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this course we went over five novels that have had this them worked into them. this theme is expressed through characters and the novels as a whole. The novel Tenth of December by George Saunders, I picked the chapter "Tenth of December" to discuss perseverance. In this chapter, Saunders uses a post–modern style of writing to illustrate and critique one of the main characters in the chapter, Don Eber. He believes that because of is his sickness that makes him a burden to his family, and he is not worthy of life. then a little boy named Robin ruined Eder's desire of suicide by almost dying himself. Eber acts fast and he saves Robin, and he returns him home safely. In that moment, Eber realizes that his life has meaning. " Time is unyielding; it is undefying, uncompromising, and underlines the essence of life. In the novella, Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption, Stephen King weaves his story around the notion of time and how the depth and clarity of understanding time rests on an individual's ability to utilize it. King takes this driving force of life and flips it to peer into prison life, where the abundance of time is the only phenomenon to which the inmates are climatized. King communicates that time can either benefit or inhibit the outcome of an individual's life, based upon their level of determination. Time can become a consuming and draining force, evident through the character of Red, a man convicted at an early age, who sunk into the swamp of time, unclear of how to function outside of his flourishing world of time.
