On the downside the other two fundamental missions were forgotten.
Thus psychology became a victimology. Human being were seen as passive foci on which external
reinforcements either weakened or strengthened responses
Psychology focus in research was on psychological disorders and the negative effects of
environment stressor such as parental divorce, death, grief, physical and sexual abuse. Practitioners
went about treating illness within the disease patient framework of repairing damage, damaged
habits, damaged drives, childhood and damaged brains.
A realization that dawned upon many psychologists was that were negative emotion taken to be as
authentic and positive emotions as derived from it.possible explanations were given for it. Firstly,
negative emotion and experiences were more urgent and therefore override positive ones. It was
evolutionary in the sense that negative emotion often reflected immediate problems or objective
dangers. They should be taken as powerful enough to force us to stop, increase vigilance and change
our behavior if needed.
Secondly, there were historical reasons that when cultures face military threat, shortages of goods ,
poverty or instability, they may most naturally be concerned with defense and damage control.

Absence of trust between the HR staff and the specialists The labourers impression of HR officials
is a noteworthy reason for concern, They underestimate it that the HR administrators are there to
ensure that the requests of specialists whatever it is not met toward the end. That is, they picture a
HR official being a specialist of the administration and not as a well wisher of the workers by and
large. This obviously indicates a long haul discontent which has surfaced now in the most savage
way.
2. Great Conduct Bond: The Company was requesting that its laborers sign a decent lead bond
before entering the processing plant. Whosoever does not sign, won't be permitted to get inside the
manufacturing plant premises and work, and subsequently would be esteemed to be on strike.
However, the laborers were not prepared to sign the bond as they needed a few changes in the states
of the bond.

A Research On The Field Of Neuroscience
Statement of Purpose
Neuroscience is a fascinating area with a limitless possibility of understanding and uncovering to
resolve so many unanswered questions. I have elected to pursue research in the field of neuroscience
because I relish the approach of logical thinking to satisfy the curiosity of knowing things about me
and the world around me. Although in recent years, a large number of breakthrough research has led
open to the advancement in the diagnosis and therapeutic approaches for several neurological
disorders and cancer such as glioma, there are a lot more to discover and untangle. Therefore, I
decided to pursue my research in understanding such life–threatening neurological diseases.

effects on neuronal and immune responses in various brain areas and lymph nodes of middle–aged
female rats. The data can be exploited to develop therapeutic strategies in cognitive impairment and
age–associated neurodegenerative, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases predominantly prevalent
in females. In another project, I have investigated the role of sex–based differences in the
pathogenicity of rheumatoid arthritis in Indian men and women.
Besides these projects, I actively participated in a number of other ongoing projects in my

Disadvantages Of Maggi
Part A – Consulting
2)
Guesstimate the number of servings of Maggi that are consumed in India in a day. (Prior to the
lead/MSG fiasco)
India's population is 1.25 billion
30% of the people below poverty line cannot afford Maggi
People who can afford having Maggi =70% of 1.25billion = 0.875 billion
Let us divide the population in the age groups of 0–10 , 11–25, 26–40,40–50,50+
People and Children in the age group of 50+ and 0–10 don't consume significant amount of Maggi.
Hence, they are ignored.
Now no. of people in the following groups:
11–2530% of 0.875 billion = 0.26 billion
26–4030% of 0.875 billion = 0.26 billion
40–5010% of 0.875 billion = 0.087 billion
People in the age group of 11–25 consume more than 1 packet per day. Let's assume it to be 1.2.
People in the age group of 26–40 consume 1 packet per day.
People in the age group of 40–50 consume less than 1 packet per day. Let's assume it to be 0.8.
Total number of Maggi Consumed in a day in India = 0.26*1.2 + 0.26*1+0.087*.8 = 0.64billion.
India's population is 1.25 billion

Labor And Management Of The Industrial Society Essay
ABSTRACT: Labour and management compose an important and integral part of our industrial
society. These groups work as pair of opposites and their divergent interests clash at some point or
the other. Despite all the emphasis laid by social scientists on the common goal and the virtues of
industrial harmony, conflict has become an inherent feature of modern system of production. The
problems of industrial conflict are not new. The past has witnessed many intense and sometimes
violent disputes. These conflicts arose from the organized efforts of the working people to improve
their economic, social and working conditions. In this study an analysis of the relationship between
the labour and management, and their occurrence of strikes in the industrial society will be done.
The study would also involve the understanding of the instruments used to bargain and negotiate by
both the parties. LITERATURE REVIEW AND THEORETICAL BACKGROUND: All industrial
strikes or any conflict do not just happen without a trigger. It is used as a powerful weapon by the
trade unions and other labour association to get their demands accepted from their employer,
government and any other entities that they work for. Workers mainly carry on the strike by
collectively quitting and ceasing to work in an industry for the purpose of pressurizing their
employers so that their demands are met. According to Industrial Disputes Act 1947, a strike is "a
cessation of work by a body of persons employed in an

Industrial Disputes And Its Effect On A Progressive Nation
Industries have been a prime focus ever since the country achieved its independence, as industrial
development has always been associated with a progressive nation. The legislative history of
industrial disputes can be traced from the year 1890. Even though there were acts like Merchant
Shipping Act of 1859, Workmen 's Breach of Contract, 1860, the actual development and growth of
central legislative measures to govern industrial legislation in India can be examined and studied
from Workmen 's Dispute Act, 1860, to the present Industrial Dispute Act, 1947 which is the Act
that is being followed right now. In due course of time, the Trade Disputes Act, 1926, came into
force, which was subsequently amended in the years 1929, 1932, 1934, and 1937. Since the World
War II brought about numerous rapid changes in the whole economic structure and also in the field
of industrial relations, the necessity of keeping production at the highest level without interruption
and the clamour of the workers to have their share in the abnormal war profits, led the Government
to introduce the Defence of India Rules in January 1942 . After the World War II ended, the need of
the hour was to bring economic justice and industrial peace in the country by stabilising the
economic system. For achieving this purpose, some legislation were brought to life with the main
aim of prohibiting unfair labour practices and setting up a fair adjudication system which would be
impartial and help with the plight

4. Limited Access to information while travelling or out of office: If an employee is not in office
either travelling or on leave then he does not have the access to the information system i.e. DMS,
ERP or the BI tool which delays decision making
Recommendation for improving sales process
1. The compensation plan preparations: Maruti should not only be involved in the determining the
lower limit of the salary of the sales executive but should be actively involved during the complete
compensation structuring.
2. Framing & monitoring of incentive scheme: The sales executive complains that the incentive
schemes are not regular. Maruti should be involved in designing these schemes for DSEs so that the

Two major results of policy changes during these years in two–wheeler industry were that the,
weaker players died out giving way to the new entrants and superior products and a sizeable
increase in number of brands entered the market that compelled the firms to compete on the basis of
product attributes. Finally, the two–¬wheeler industry in the country has been able to witness a
proliferation of brands with introduction of new technology as well as increase in number of
players. Initially the industry primarily had Enfield Bikes (350cc) and Escort (175cc), and after the
1980s, when the market was opened up, the competition started flowing in with Hero Honda( a JV),
TVS, Suzuki. The companies initially started off with assembling the completely knocked down
units that were imported from other countries and then gradually started domestic production in
India. Majority of Indians, especially the youth prefer 2–wheelers rather than cars as they help in
easy and cheaper commutation. Demand and Supply Position for Two–Wheelers The composition
of the two–wheeler industry has witnessed sea changes in the post–reform period. In 1991, the share
of scooters was about 50 per cent of the total 2–wheeler demand in the Indian market. Motorcycle
and moped had been experiencing almost equal level of shares in the total number of two–wheelers.

Lab Report On Concrete Of Concrete
Concrete
SAMPLING: The first step is to take a test sample from the large batch of concrete. This should be
done as soon as discharge of the concrete commences. The sample should be representative of the
concrete supplied. The sample is taken in one of two ways:
1. For purposes of accepting or rejecting the load: Sampling after 0.2 m3 of the load has been
poured.
2. For routine quality checks: Sampling from three places in the load.
Concrete Slump Test: This test is performed to check the consistency of freshly made concrete. The
slump test is done to make sure a concrete mix is workable. The measured slump must be within a
set range, or tolerance, from the target slump.
Workability of concrete is mainly affected by consistency i.e. ... Show more content on

If this also fails the remainder of the batch should be rejected.
The Compression Test
The compression test shows the compressive strength of hardened concrete. The compression test
shows the best possible strength concrete can reach in perfect conditions. The compression test
measures concrete strength in the hardened state. Testing should always be done carefully. Wrong
test results can be costly.
The testing is done in a laboratory off–site. The only work done on–site is to make a concrete
cylinder for the compression test. The strength is measured in Megapascals (MPa) and is commonly
specified as a characteristic strength of concrete measured at 28 days after mixing. The compressive
strength is a measure of the concrete's ability to resist loads which tend to crush it.
Procedure for compression test of concrete
1. Clean the cylinder mould and coat the inside lightly with form oil, then place on a clean, level and
firm surface, ie the steel plate. Collect a sample.
2. Fill 1/2 the volume of the mould with concrete then compact by rodding 25 times. Cylinders may
also be compacted by vibrating using a vibrating table.
3. Fill the cone to overflowing and rod 25 times into the top of the first layer, then top up the mould
till overflowing.
4. Level off the top with the steel float and clean any concrete from around the mould.

The Brain Research Paper
The Brain .What weighs about three pounds but has more parts than there are stars in the Milky Way
galaxy? What fills the space occupied by only three pints of milk yet includes components that, laid
end to end, would stretch several hundred thousand miles? What looks like an oversized walnut
made of soft, grayish–pink cheese but contains the equivalent of 100 trillion tiny calculators? What,
according to James Watson, co–discoverer of the helical structure of DNA, is "the most complex
thing we have yet discovered in our universe"? To all four of these intriguing questions there is but

these 3 brains interact with each and every other underlies human behavior. The region of the brain
that controls motion is in a quite slim strip that goes from around the top of the head correct down
along exactly where your ear is found. It really is named the motor strip. If I injure that area, I'll
have difficulties managing 50 % of my human body. If I have a

  • 12. Labor And Management Of The Industrial Society Essay ABSTRACT: Labour and management compose an important and integral part of our industrial society. These groups work as pair of opposites and their divergent interests clash at some point or the other. Despite all the emphasis laid by social scientists on the common goal and the virtues of industrial harmony, conflict has become an inherent feature of modern system of production. The problems of industrial conflict are not new. The past has witnessed many intense and sometimes violent disputes. Industrial Disputes And Its Effect On A Progressive Nation Industries have been a prime focus ever since the country achieved its independence, as industrial development has always been associated with a progressive nation. The legislative history of industrial disputes can be traced from the year 1890. Even though there were acts like Merchant Shipping Act of 1859, Workmen 's Breach of Contract, 1860, the actual development and growth of central legislative measures to govern industrial legislation in India can be examined and studied from Workmen 's Dispute Act, 1860, to the present Industrial Dispute Act, 1947 which is the Act that is being followed right now. In due course of time, the Trade Disputes Act, 1926, came into force, which was subsequently amended in the years 1929, 1932, 1934, and 1937. For achieving this purpose, some legislation were brought to life with the main aim of prohibiting unfair labour practices and setting up a fair adjudication system which would be impartial and help with the plight ...
