4. What is health check up of plant equipments?
Why you should go plant health check up?
Marcep Inc.
To know the present status of health of old static & rotating equipments like steam turbines, heat exchanger, pressure vessels,
pipings, pumps, motors, compressors, engines etc.
Checking the health status of equipment through predictive and preventive maintenance through visual inspection and
diagnosis.
To increase the plant performance & availability before failure
Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
The more reliable the plant the better uninterrupted production
Fewer breakdowns and reactive work orders through preventive & predictive maintenance for more reliable operations
with in depth Remaining Life Assessment Studies (RLA)
Repairing & overhauling services for various equipments
Implementing effective shutdowns & turnaround operations
Plant safety & gap assessment studies

Agenda

⢠Availability
⢠Reliability
Game Plan
⢠What is our objective and why?
⢠What tools do we have available?
â Reliable outage information
â Measurements (statistics)
⢠How can we reach the objectives?
â Unitâlevel bench marking
â Componentâlevel bench marking
is defined as the probability of performing a successful repair action within a given time. In other words,
maintainability measures the ease and speed with which a system can be restored to operational status after a failure occurs.
factor of a process plant is the amount of time that it is able to produce electricity over a certain period, divided by
the amount of the time in the period. Occasions where only partial capacity is available may or may not be deducted.
(1) The duration or probability of failure-free performance under stated conditions. (2) The probability that an item
can perform its intended function for a specified interval under stated conditions.
⢠To simply find ways that either outage frequency, outage duration, or both, can be reduced and kept at a level consistent with
minimum generation costs and load management objectives.

Reducing MRO Costs & Improving ROA
At MARCEP INC., Khanna says that his organizationâs clients are looking to predicting and preventing failures as the key to
reducing their maintenance, repair and operation (MRO) costs, and to increasing their return on assets (ROA).
âItâs not just the equipment cost and number of machines, but the financial impact of failure on production,â Khanna says.
âThatâs why improving your maintenance practices deserves so much attention.â
A trend toward outsourcing maintenance and adopting asset management applications is helping operators make the
improvements that Khanna says are crucial to keeping plants up and running, and keeping costs down.
âIt has helped our customers identify critical issues and bad actors, optimize maintenance, prioritize turnarounds and
shutdowns, and increase mean time between repairs.
âAs our customers gain knowledge and baseline metrics, we see a slow migration to condition and performance monitoring,
for even higher degrees of maintenance accuracy,â says Khanna.
