Personal Responsibility At A Young Age By Environmental Or...
Personal responsibility starts at a young age by environmental or parental influence. You are either taught personal responsibility as you grow into an
adult by being held accountable for your own actions or the responsibility is taken from you. As an adult, you are responsible for every action that you
take, but before that action comes a series of thoughts that lead you to taking that action. Depending on how you were brought up, your transition into
becoming an adult can either be an easy one or a difficult one. As an adult, the one thing that I have learned is a constant is that you will be held
accountable for your actions whether you like it or not.
Holding yourself accountable and having self–discipline has a lot to do with personal responsibility in my opinion. When you hold yourself
accountable for your actions you are making a conscious effort to be a responsible person. Every action starts with a thought, whether it's a good
thought or a bad thought, it will determine the outcome of that action. For example, when you wake up in the morning and the first thought that
comes to mind is that you will have a bad day, whether you know it or not you are subconsciously going to make it a bad day. If you stopped that
thought when it happened and told yourself that today will be a good day you have already turned the outcome around. By holding yourself
accountable you are in control, you are not aimlessly going through life reacting to what happens to you.

How Personal Responsibility Will Lead to My Success
Personal responsibility means to me holding yourself accountable for not only the successes in your life but also your downfalls. If a person can do
this they will not only be successful in their education but in their careers and life in general. Even though some people who lack personal responsibility
do just fine in life, personal responsibility will lead to my success in and beyond school because it gives me the confidence to succeed, and will lead to
a better life for my family and me.
Now as to my approach for this paper I am writing this essay according to The Descriptive Essay (2011), "The descriptive essay is a genre of essay that

Personal responsibility also gives myself no one else, or anything else to blame for my short comings when my procrastination comes up to bite
me in the butt. Procrastination is still a major factor I am working on improving day to day. It has always been something that I have had to make
a conscious effort to avoid and improve upon. If I am able to conquer that downfall I believe there is nothing that will be able to stop me in gaining
my degree and moving onto a career that I will love to do. Another effect of being personally responsible is that it will lead to success in my career.
The first thing that will contribute to this is that personally responsibility will have led to my success in school giving myself a foundation to
succeed in my career of choice. The tools that it taught me in school can also be implemented in the work place. Being able to utilize these same
methods that helped in school are an invaluable tool to also being able to succeed in the workplace, not only in getting a job, but maintaining a job
and moving up within the chosen career path. Lastly personal responsibility will allow me to better provide for my family giving us a better life.
All my previous points about being personally responsible in school and work all lead into this final point that it will give my family and myself a
better more secure life. Now some people in this world lack personal responsibility and do just fine, but what is the

Social Responsibility
It is our responsibility as educators to teach our students how to be socially responsible adults. "The ability of the adolescent to identify and define
social responsibility is important in defining who they are, where they fit in the social world, and building confidence in their sense of agency." (Polk,

ways I can help students with social responsibility is to put them in social situations. Field trips to places that would force them to be social will teach

Reflection:
Some of the key aspects of philosophy included metaphysics, logic, and epistemology. Metaphysics is the study of existence. It answers the question
"What is?" It includes everything that exists, as well as the nature of existence itself. Metaphysics is the foundation of philosophy. Without an
explanation or an interpretation of the world around us, we would not be able to deal with reality. Logic is the study of reason or the study of
arguments. "Logic constructs ideas so that we are able to communicate certain concepts to each other by deducing them from a set of premises."
(Braley, 2003, p. 10) Epistemology is the study of how we acquire knowledge. It answers the question "How do we know?" Epistemology is the
explanation of how we think. It is required in order for us to be able to determine the difference between true and false. Epistemology is important
aspect used to obtain knowledge of the world around us. Without epistemology, we could not think, and we would have no reason to believe our
thinking was productive or correct.

Personal Responsibility To be successful in college one must be personally responsible for their actions. Personal responsibility is having integrity, and
taking accountability for his or her actions. Doing the right thing and making ethical choices will demonstrate being personally responsible and will
result in a successful college experience.
Personal responsibility is taking ownership of their thoughts and actions (Stockdale and Brockett, 2011). Personal responsibility to me is having
integrity. What I mean by this is being trust worthy to do the right thing, all the time. For example, plagiarizing work, if someone is trustworthy they ...

By organizing I can set the steps in each category, short, intermediate, and long term, with each step leading toward my ultimate long termgoal. After
all isn 't that what we all want, to set ourselves up to reach the ultimate long term goal. Once I have organized my goals, I will then prioritize them.
I will rank all of my goals in the order in which I want to accomplish them. I will start with the most immediate goal first and work my way to my
ultimate goal. For example, the most immediate goal for me is to obtain my degree. My next goal would be to retire from the Marine Corps once I
have twenty years of service. My ultimate goal might be to retire by the time I am fifty five and move to a tropical area, whatever the goal is I will
set myself up to reach it. By prioritizing my goals, my decision making will be made very easy based on the order in which I want to reach all of
the goals that I have set. Next I will accept the responsibility of completing all of my assignments in a timely manner, which will enable me to reach
one of my goals. Once the first goal is met then off to the next. By being personally responsibility and making the best decisions for me, I will
ultimately reach the goals that I have set for myself.
In concluding, personal responsibility to me is being true to yourself and sticking to your morals. Being accountable for your actions

The Azusa Street Revival is an event that took place in 1906. William J. Seymour, was a man who was led by the Holy Spirit to revive the
industrial streets of Los Angeles, where they used skin color and race to segregate the church. When you think about church do you think
segregation? No, you would think the church would be the last place where there would be segregation. Many were seeking for more from God,
particularly in the holiness groups. Some were offering divine healing prayer with notable results. Others were asking God for a Pentecostal
outpouring of holiness and power. From 1901 reports of the baptism in the Holy Spirit accompanied by speaking with other tongues and other

And when it did they wouldn't be able to control it, when the spirit broke out in those streets nothing could stop it. It was like a fire overcoming
the people and their tongues, and there was no one person there. Black and white people were praising god together and in that moment I'm pretty
sure they couldn't even see color anymore because the power was that strong. Some key points to a genuine out pouring of the holy spirit, is to
repent of your sins truly mean it when you are doing, know why you are doing it, and give yourself completely over to the spirit. I learned that it
doesn't matter where you come from and who you are or what you look like you can receive the Holy spirit, because we are all God's children and
we deserve to have the spirit inside of all of us. I also learned that if Seymour can lead people to the Lord what is stopping me from doing the same,
I'm going to try and work harder because I don't want to see anyone go to hell we should want to save everyone. Winning souls over to the Lord
must be a wonderful experience, and I know that William J. Seymour experienced that a lot throughout those days he increased the time of his
prayer from 2 hours to 5 hours. Though he was blind in one eye it didn't stop him from spreading the love and compassion of the Lord our God who
saved our souls, by sending his only son to die on the cross for our sins, he didn't have to but he

Personal Responsibility To Become Well-Behaved Students
When individuals are being responsible for themselves, often others tend to rely on the accountable individuals. Like the character Fujiko, I, too
have experienced taking responsibility for someone else. When I was in Japan, I was very serious about studying and being a good student. I was
always on time for every class, homework was always perfectly done, and studied excessively hard for the tests. I took full responsibility for myself in
order to achieve my goal of having higher marks on my report card. I was one of the individuals who had more focusing on the personal responsibility.

Students must manage family and work responsibilities to succeed in an academic environment. Student will not be successful if a harmonious family
life is not maintained. Employment can significantly reduce grades if not properly balanced. Online learning also can be challenging according to The
International Journal of Continuing Education & Lifelong Learning:
Reasons or factors affecting students dropping out from their distance learning studies were found in a study carried out in 2007–08 by using group
interviews and a survey questionnaire. Based on the reasons found in focus group interviews, a questionnaire consisting of possible dropout reasons
was devised and administered to all 'dropout' students in the two cohorts. The reasons for student dropout found in the questionnaire study were
classified into three categories. The first category of reasons is called 'not addressable' and is found to predominantly to include students' personal
reasons. The second category is called 'not readily addressable. They include reasons, such as high tuition fees and heavy amount of coursework. The
third category is 'addressable' factors, and these include failure to maintain motivation in study, and so forth (Yuen, Lee, & Tsang, 2011, p. 25).
Successful students must be able to balance personal responsibilities and academic requirements. Students must update schedules and calendars daily to
keep–up with life's demands.

Experiencing any shortage on monetary endowments will keep reality in check. So, I developed managing money as good as possible by practicing

Maintaining good health is vital to my academic success because if I am unhealthy, I am likely to lose focus. Managing my health poorly can lead
to a decline in academic success. For instance, not getting enough will cause restlessness and make focusing difficult. In the article Exercise

activity increased scores on standardized math tests."

they start learning how to make choices in life. Children start thinking about what they want to be, a doctor, nurse or a police. What college we want to
attend or what trade school do we want to attend. Next we start thinking about where we want to work when we finish school, a hospital, private
company, or even a bank. Later, we may start thinking about whether we want to have a family or we may already have a family and need to
know how we are only to take care of our family. These are choices we will make but none of them will be honorable decisions or good choices if
we do not follow through. That means we have to committee ourselves to the decision we made, whether going to school or starting a career. If going

Personal Responsibility Work And Opportunity Act Analysis
The Personal Responsibility Work and Opportunity Act was a bill that was passed into law in 1996. This law created a new program called
Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF). The changes in the TANF program were significantly different than the Aid to Families with
Dependent Children (AFDC) program. The TANF program became a part of the nationalwelfare reform which puts a stop to women with children
being entitled to an endless amount of cash benefits. Welfare reform was part of President Bill Clinton and his campaign's "promise to end welfare as

Two aspects that can be difficult for people to control of are education and personal responsibility. It is always easier to shift blame when things do not
go as planned, such as failing a quiz, or turning in an assignment late. Those who shift blame have an external locus of control, meaning they blame
others instead of taking responsibility for their actions. Sisney et al., (2000) reported that students having an external locus of control correlated to
lower academic achievement and higher dropout rates. High school dropouts exhibited more external control and were less likely to stay in school
because they feel that their destiny is out of their hands. If you make a mistake you should own it, and never shift the blame, always plan to be
honest in everything you say and do. The most important reason if I hold myself accountable for my actions I am more likely to move toward my
goals is that by using time management strategies, planning, and goal setting I am ensuring my college success. By using time management
strategies, the student must figure out how to use time wisely and organize tasks that need to be completed. I could even choose to complete tasks

Defining Personal Responsibility Essay
Defining Personal Responsibility and Obligations to Oneself
Angelica McElhone
University of Phoenix
Abstract
Personal responsibility is the choices and obligations we make in life. Everyone is responsible for their own actions no one else. We all must have
good character, moral values and a healthy lifestyle in order to accept personal responsibility. Once we use our good character and moral values to help
us know what is right and wrong, it is up to us to be responsible and make the right decisions. Also promoting a healthy life style show you are
responsible mentally, physically and emotionally. All in all, once we accept the fact that we are the only ones who can change our lives by making
good choices, we have accepted personal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If we choose to be late instead of punctual, we are not accepting our personal responsibility that we must be punctual so we suffer from the
consequences.
Moral values are the values of good and evil, which help us make the right and wrong choices in life. We develop these moral values throughout our
life time and it is our personal responsibility to use them when making choices or obligations. Having moral values is important in personal
responsibility because the moral values you live by will help you determine what's right and what's wrong. Once we've determined what's right or
wrong we use those values to help make sure we are doing the right thing which is the responsible way to do it.
Finally, having a healthy life style is the most important key to personal responsibility. Everyone is responsible for how they live their lives but it
is important to make sure you are mentally, emotionally and physically stable in order to live a good life. We as people like to blame everyone
else for our problems but the only real person to blame are ourselves. We ourselves are personally responsible for the way we live are lives no one
else. If you don't live a healthy lifestyle it is your responsibility to change that or accept the burdens that come with not living a healthy life style.
When you accept responsibility, you admit you are the one responsible for the choices made in your life. We, no other person or thing,

Personal Responsibility Reflection
Q1: How have your views on business and personal responsibility changed, if at all, over the course of the semester?
Throughout the course of this semester, my views on business and personal responsibility changed drastically. While completing the corporate social
responsibility assignment as well as reading about Bill Strickland's story and the Frontline "Poisoned Waters" video, I learned many new lessons on the
importance of social responsibility. For starters, the corporate social responsibility project opened my eyes to all the positive impacts that large
companies are making in the world. More specifically, for my project, I researched Marriott International. Initially, I was unaware of all the steps they
take increase sustainability. Each year they take steps to cut down water waste, carbon emission and landfill waste. This is a very tall task because they
own over six thousand properties. I was completely unaware that large companies similar to Marriott were concerned about the environment.
Secondly, while reading Bill Strickland's "Make the Impossible Possible" I learned many helpful lessons. One thing that stuck with me was Bill's
ambition to chase his dreams. While working with ceramics, he found something that he truly enjoyed, and he knew that crafting could help influence
others too. Though he grew up in a poor, destructive neighborhood, he didn't let that stop him. When he finally opened up his first craftsman's guild I
knew that he would have the ability to make it special. After expansion and reassessment, Bill was finally make his dream a reality by creating the
beautiful Manchester Bidwell center. Although this was not an easy process, he stuck with it and can now be very proud of what he created. Lastly, he
shows that people should never give up on their dreams and that people should give back to their community whenever possible.
Lastly, the poisoned water video had a large impact on me. That video showed the results of what happens when companies aren't sustainable and let
waste build up. The video showed examples of the waste accumulating in the Puget Sound as well as how farms are dealing with there waste problems.
The documentary was a little sad because it showed all the mutations

PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY ESSAY
Success in college requires one to identify key aspects of personal responsibility, understand the relationship between personal responsibility and
college success, and establish a specific plan to follow that will ensure he or she incorporates the various elements of personal responsibility in every
facet of his or her college experience.
The notion of personal responsibility has been embedded in our culture and as we enter into adulthood we must learn to become personally,
academically, financially, socially and mentally responsible. There are times when you may feel you are responsible and may not need or want the
help of others in your life. However, life is full of challenges and surprises and it is easy to shift the blame to others if things don't go your way. You
must learn to take responsibility by accepting and acknowledging the choices you make in your live.
You are where you are in life today because of the choice you made. You made decisions that either benefitted or hindered you. How youaccept and
acknowledges your personal responsibility depends on how you handle the outcomes of your decisions. I look at personal responsibility as you
accepting responsibility for your actions, accepting the consequences that come from those actions and understanding that these actions impact the
world around you.
Life itself is already full of challenges and once you learn to accept the decisions you made and not blaming others for your actions,

Teaching Self And Core Values Of Teaching Personal And...
Teaching personal and social responsibility (TPSR) is a lifelong journey. One can never fully achieve the ultimate goal of becoming personally and
socially responsible as it's always expanding. TPSR is built upon the foundation of putting kids first, human decency, holistic self–development, and as
Nick Forsberg said "a way of being" (19). It is important for a teacher to put aside personal goals and achievements to focus on the students. The
students well being and personal growth must be the focal point. Along with these important core values TPSR is structured around a five level
system. The first two level are considered a beginner level of TPSR and touch on respect and effort. Within the begining levels a student will begin to
understand the role expectations placed upon him or her in the classroom. This includes peaceful and respectful participation in every activity with a

Examples Of Personal Responsibility Essay
Personal Responsibility Essay
Imagine going through your entire life without taking personal responsibility for absolutely anything. How would this method of operation affect your
life? Day to day life would be chaotic, career advancement would be impossible, and concepts like intrapersonal relationships would quickly become
overwhelming and unfeasible. The ability and drive to take personal responsibility in life is a central focal point in the areas of creating a successful
life, defining goals and priorities, and creating a structure with which to effectively guide your life.
When working toward a successful life, personal responsibility is a vital cornerstone. The concept of personal responsibility is more than just being ...

The setting and constant evaluation of these goals and priorities becomes the framework of a successful life and a vital gauge for one to evaluate
their progress. Strategies as simple as writing your goals down can be useful in solidifying those goals, as outlined in Becoming a Master Student
(Toft, 2011): "Writing down your goals exponentially increases your chances of meeting them. Writing exposes undefined terms, unrealistic time
frames, and other symptoms of fuzzy thinking." Having your goals in a 'real' format makes them harder to lose track or sight of. However, if one is
not willing to truly take personal responsibility for the outcome of their progress, they will never make it very far in pursuit of their goals and any real
personal growth becomes stunted.
While some people believe that they are able to lead a successful life without taking any responsibility and just drift, this is a misconception. Achieving
success comes through the crafting of an individual framework of goals and priorities that one will strive toward, measuring success through their
progress toward these goals. This can take wildly different forms for each individual, as each person must use tactics that make sense to them.
Personally, my own plan to engrain personal responsibility into my education involves constant evaluation of my progress via my calendar and
prioritized lists and through tracking of my grades. The use

Personal Responsibility
To be successful you must be responsible for your actions. Personal responsibility is having integrity, and taking ownership for your actions. Doing the
right thing will demonstrate being personally responsible and will result in a successful experience in life.
Personal responsibility is taking ownership of your thoughts and actions. To me, personal responsibility is having integrity. What I mean by this is
being trustworthy, to do the right thing all the time. For example, plagiarizing work, if someone is trustworthy they will do their own work, rather
than copy someone else's and turning that work in for a grade. If someone is to have integrity, they will also report any wrong doings that they are
aware of. If you know of someone that is cheating or plagiarizing and you do not report the incident, you are just as much at fault as the other person.
Above would be another example of what I believe personal responsibility means, doing the right thing even though it may not be the popular thing to
do. Accountability is another trait of being personally responsible. Being accountable means not blaming others for your choices or lack of choices. If

Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA)The United States took on a major reform of the social welfare
system with the passing of thePersonal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act (PRWORA), signed into law by President Clinton in August of 1996.
This policy essentially changed the nation's social welfare system by replacing a federal entitlement program for low–income families, called Aid to
Families with Dependent Children (AFDC), with the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program. The primary focus is on moving
welfare recipients from primarily getting cash assistance to working in order to lower families' dependence on public support. This push toward work

For example, unemployed workers who receive an unemployment benefit may be able continue to support their families. Disadvantages:The biggest
disadvantage of welfare is its cost to the local governments that control it. Even with federal support, states feel the burden of welfare in each annual
budget. One of the concerns is that welfare may discourage some recipients to seek work, since an increase in earnings would exclude them from
getting free benefits. Fraud would also be a concern if someone supplies false information in order to get benefits that they do not qualify for.
Alternative:As an alternative of giving welfare directly to those in need, funding programs that educate on new skills or help seeking jobs for the
unemployed should be implemented. These programs, if implemented, can show drastic changes in unemployment rates over time. Restrictions on
welfare, such as the time limits for getting unemployment benefits or a maximum monthly food stamp allowance, serve to limit the government's
responsibility in a way that open–ended welfare does not. Conclusion: The social welfare reform has improved tremendously but still has more progress

Personal Responsibility is something many of us will either run from or accept. According to Kimberly Alyn (2010), "Personal Responsibility is

as lack of respect" (p. 76). It is also has the power to change the lives of others as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The best ways to overcome our fear of personal responsibility is to: 1. Take the time to weigh the consequence our actions will cause. This can be
obtained by applying critical thinking to the process. 2. After weighing the options, talk to those who will be impacted and inform them what will
happen once the decision has been made. And never be afraid to seek the opinion of others. 3. You should make sure provisions have been made in
order to be successful in whatever we decide to do. Whether it's through going back to school, attending seminars or constantly reading the new updated
procedures and regulations that are provided.
Personal responsibility is and will always play a vital part in our lives. However, it is how we accept and act that will determine the level of trust
people place in us, but also show the type of person we are.

Although personal responsibility is a perception of ideas or standards established by society, personal success depends upon personal responsibility
because it promotes accountability and also reflects on the accountability in our professional lives.
Upholding personal responsibility is the key to success in any type of environment. It is the commitment to ourselves telling us to get out of bed to
get ready for work or to go to class. On the other hand, personal responsibility is the acceptance of failure to accomplish the task that we are obligated

The last element I want to discuss because I believe it is the most important concerning personal responsibility, is attitude. Possessing a positive attitude
holds everything together. "Attitude represents that connection between mind, heart, and body" (Ursiny, DeMoss, & Ybaben, 2008). You can possess
every other kind of quality and apply whatever kind of strategy you like but without a positive attitude you will get nowhere. Every day we come
across conflict and deal with negative people who will try to make you feel less attractive, less intelligent, and lesser of just about everything. This
kind of negativity spreads like wild fire. Refrain from too much exposure to this and keep in mind other people do not dictate the outcome of your
life. Positive attitudes do not come easy though. It is a training process of the mind. Every day, the moment you open your eyes tell yourself this
will be a good day full of learning and meeting new people and ask yourself "how will I better myself and those around me today?" Keep this type of
thinking in mind and be the positive influence where ever you are and people to take notice. They will be more likely to help you, want to work with
you and be wherever you are. Even if for nobody else, you owe it to yourself to have a positive attitude and to enjoy all endeavors of life.

of the steps I have taken to choose my fate I will have the blessing of making my family's life easier and I will be happier with my new sense of worth.
Because of the direct connection going to college has with making more money and being a successful person we should all take ownership of our
lives and get educated. According to Julian and Kominski (2011) "Occupation is often the mechanism by which education is related to earnings.
Higher levels of education allow people access to more specialized jobs that are often associated with high pay. Degrees in many occupations are

Short Stories : Personal Responsibility
Do you feel an obligation to think about other people's welfare? If you do, how far does that responsibility extend? Are you responsible for a sibling,
a neighbor, or even a stranger across the world? The short stories I read help me think about the world around me and enlighten my understanding of
my personal responsibility to others. First, these short stories show personal responsibility by describing to what degree we are responsible for the
weaker or oppressed members of society. Second, the short stories I read helped me think about to what extent should we be driven by personal
responsibility to act with compassion, empathy, and concern for others. Finally, short stories exemplify how we are personally responsible for our
friends and how we live our own lives.
First, short stories show personal responsibility by describing to what degree we are responsible for the weaker or oppressed members of

An Air Of Controversy Regarding Laws Promoting Personal...
There is an air of controversy concerning laws promoting personal and social responsibility and individual freedom. After all, there is a dire need for
social change in a society that is becoming ever more self–centered and materialistic. This social change might come from laws that encourage some
sort of responsibility. For example, in Texas, a future policy forsocial responsibility could be a ban on texting and driving. Personal responsibility
policies could be limits on welfare benefits and childhood immunization requirements. While a welfare reform would ease the burden of taxpayers and
bans on texting and driving and requirements of immunization would protect society from harm, these policies encourage quite a bit of debate.
Basically, it is difficult to enact laws that are for the benefit of society as a whole without interfering or restrictingindividual freedoms, and vice versa.
In the modern day and age, there are many groups who either demand to keep their rights protected, like minority groups, or emerging groups that want
legislation passed to protect their rights, like the homosexual community. Of course, there is nothing wrong with these rights, after all, the basic
foundation of democracy guarantees equality. However, the problem arises, as Lloyd put it, when society becomes "selfish" and "materialistic"–
focusing only on "lack of rights" and creating a moral dilemma that is slowly ruining society. Haskins broadens this by defining personal responsibility

Why are personal responsibilities more important than social responsibilities?
People have a lot of ups and downs in their life. Sometimes they are happy while they are doing what they like, or they are stressed of
circumstances that arise in their life. They are always looking for ways to find the balance around them. As a result, they plan different strategies to
help improve the quality of life, so they start working on themselves by being more responsible for their actions and helping others in different ways

Furthermore, they can be also responsible for the choices that they are making in life because they may affect their body and create a door for a
physical problem. Furthermore, people need to be responsible for their intellectual growth as well. In order to be self–sufficient, individuals need to be
prepared for life challenges. They can start by going to college to become well educated, and receive a degree, find a job, and be able to take care
of themselves without expecting assistance from government, parents, or others. When people are able to keep the balance, they will not be a
charge or a problem to the public. Ericsson argues in her classification and division essay "We all put up facades to one degree or another" (473).
The author debates that people can have different faces in life that may qualify them at an extent. The way they dress, behave socially and personally.
Therefore, if individuals are well maintained physically and intellectually that will impact their life one way or another. By taking care of themselves,
they make decisions in life that will be greatly beneficial to them. Besides physical and intellectual appearances, they need to be careful to avoid
situations that may endanger their safety. They need to make good choices of people and company that they keep places that they are visiting, and
recognize the choices that will benefit them in life.

Personal responsibility is an action or actions taken on by an individual to recognize his or her own choices and obligations, made in everyday life.
Every individual has a responsibility for their own burdens; no one else can be held accountable for those actions. As college students, we have to

This comes back to a saying "if you cant do the time, then don't do the crime" (Blake, 1975–1978). You may also have responsibilities learned by a
parent. These can range anywhere from basic chores such as feeding the animals. This teaches a responsibility to care for someone/something else
whom cannot care for them.
Finally you need to put into place a plan to execute these responsibilities. A particular plan that I have in mind in relevance to education and career
responsibilities would be to plan ahead, be organized, and stay on track. This will allow you to prioritize all your assignments/workload to prepare
yourself incase an emergency appears and to keep you from procrastinating allowing your grade to suffer. However in relating to moral values, a
plan must be set from a young age; this can either be set by your parents leading my example or by yourself. If you are setting that plan yourself you

The Necessity of Personal Responsibility Essay
Personal responsibility may be perceived in many ways, but it is imperative to understand the relevance of why it must begin with our self. First,
one will never develop an attitude of responsibility if they always look for others to complete their task. It is a necessity that one has personal
discipline or their efforts to be responsible will prove to be fruitless. Second, being responsible yields great rewards and acting responsible is a clear
sign of maturity. A responsible individual looks to no one but self and no matter what the outcome; they are willing to stand by their decisions. (Maltby

Personal responsibility may yield many rewards. For example, Mary's entry level position at Trump Towers was administrative assistant. During a
period of one year, Mary validated her worth by working overtime and always volunteering to help with other projects. As Mary continued to flourish in
completing her assignments, she was elevated from administrative assistant to executive director of the accounting department. There are many levels
of maturity, but maturity is a process that students develop over a period of time. Consequently, the student that matures quickly is likely to initiate an
educational plan that will increase their academic success. One preliminary plan that a student can design to achieve academic success is goal setting.
Goal setting allows the student to define their academic goals and to devise a plan that will accommodate their collegiate career. "One way to make
goals effective is to examine them up close." (Ellis, p. 70,2011) Prior to this point we established several factors to confirm the necessity of personal
responsibility, but here we will interject effective strategies that a student must use to generate success in their chosen field of study. Research and
observation reveals that the most successful students are accountable, but also have a strong determination to apply practical concepts to achieve their
academic goals. The successful student operates in congruence between faculty and

Personal Responsibility For Ma 's Success Essay
A number of factors contributed to Ma's success. It may be useful to start with some of the key business principles he has vocalized and to refer to
his background from there. His first principle relates to his own personal responsibility for the consequences associated with his business decisions.
He has noted somewhat dramatically that if anyone has to go to jail as a result of following his direction, he should be the first to go. He also stated
during his IPO in New York that if shareholders were unhappy, he would be willing to buy the company back from them. It is not clear whether this is
a realistic suggestion, but the sentiment is certainly rare. This sense of personal responsibility often derives from starting in a position where one
intimately knows all of his colleagues. This was the case when Alibaba began.
Another of Ma's core principles has been to maintain a sense of direction. As the CEO is responsible for setting the mission and the aim of a company,
this job also entails expressing this to leading management the company as a whole as well as setting in place the process to execute it. Looking back,
Ma has been instrumental in the company's continual innovation, acquisition and expansion. This progress is reminiscent of clear task–oriented goals.
Ma is careful to remind business leaders that a sense of modesty is helpful to the learning process. He claimed he is always happy when he has a
student who knows something he does not. This willingness to learn

Personal Responsibility At A Young Age By Environmental Or...

  • 1. Personal Responsibility At A Young Age By Environmental Or... Personal responsibility starts at a young age by environmental or parental influence. You are either taught personal responsibility as you grow into an adult by being held accountable for your own actions or the responsibility is taken from you. As an adult, you are responsible for every action that you take, but before that action comes a series of thoughts that lead you to taking that action. Depending on how you were brought up, your transition into becoming an adult can either be an easy one or a difficult one. As an adult, the one thing that I have learned is a constant is that you will be held accountable for your actions whether you like it or not. Holding yourself accountable and having self–discipline has a lot to do with personal responsibility in my opinion. When you hold yourself accountable for your actions you are making a conscious effort to be a responsible person. Every action starts with a thought, whether it's a good thought or a bad thought, it will determine the outcome of that action. For example, when you wake up in the morning and the first thought that comes to mind is that you will have a bad day, whether you know it or not you are subconsciously going to make it a bad day. If you stopped that thought when it happened and told yourself that today will be a good day you have already turned the outcome around. By holding yourself accountable you are in control, you are not aimlessly going through life reacting to what happens to you. When ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How Personal Responsibility Will Lead to My Success Essay How Personal Responsibility Will Lead to My Success Personal responsibility means to me holding yourself accountable for not only the successes in your life but also your downfalls. If a person can do this they will not only be successful in their education but in their careers and life in general. Even though some people who lack personal responsibility do just fine in life, personal responsibility will lead to my success in and beyond school because it gives me the confidence to succeed, and will lead to a better life for my family and me. Now as to my approach for this paper I am writing this essay according to The Descriptive Essay (2011), "The descriptive essay is a genre of essay that asks the student to describe an object, ... Procrastination is still a major factor I am working on improving day to day. It has always been something that I have had to make a conscious effort to avoid and improve upon. If I am able to conquer that downfall I believe there is nothing that will be able to stop me in gaining my degree and moving onto a career that I will love to do. Another effect of being personally responsible is that it will lead to success in my career. The first thing that will contribute to this is that personally responsibility will have led to my success in school giving myself a foundation to succeed in my career of choice. The tools that it taught me in school can also be implemented in the work place. Being able to utilize these same methods that helped in school are an invaluable tool to also being able to succeed in the workplace, not only in getting a job, but maintaining a job and moving up within the chosen career path. Lastly personal responsibility will allow me to better provide for my family giving us a better life. All my previous points about being personally responsible in school and work all lead into this final point that it will give my family and myself a better more secure life. "The ability of the adolescent to identify and define social responsibility is important in defining who they are, where they fit in the social world, and building confidence in their sense of agency." (Polk, nd) I want my students to be confident in who they are as individuals, my goal will be to nurture and push them to be all they want to be. Reflection: Some of the key aspects of philosophy included metaphysics, logic, and epistemology. Metaphysics is the study of existence. It answers the question "What is?" It includes everything that exists, as well as the nature of existence itself. Metaphysics is the foundation of philosophy. Without an explanation or an interpretation of the world around us, we would not be able to deal with reality. Logic is the study of reason or the study of arguments. "Logic constructs ideas so that we are able to communicate certain concepts to each other by deducing them from a set of premises." (Braley, 2003, p. 10) Epistemology is the study of how we acquire knowledge. It answers the question "How do we know?" Epistemology is the explanation of how we think. It is required in order for us to be able to determine the difference between true and false. Epistemology is important aspect used to obtain knowledge of the world around us. After all isn 't that what we all want, to set ourselves up to reach the ultimate long term goal. Once I have organized my goals, I will then prioritize them. I will rank all of my goals in the order in which I want to accomplish them. I will start with the most immediate goal first and work my way to my ultimate goal. For example, the most immediate goal for me is to obtain my degree. My next goal would be to retire from the Marine Corps once I have twenty years of service. My ultimate goal might be to retire by the time I am fifty five and move to a tropical area, whatever the goal is I will set myself up to reach it. By prioritizing my goals, my decision making will be made very easy based on the order in which I want to reach all of the goals that I have set. Next I will accept the responsibility of completing all of my assignments in a timely manner, which will enable me to reach one of my goals. Once the first goal is met then off to the next. By being personally responsibility and making the best decisions for me, I will ultimately reach the goals that I have set for myself. Seymour, was a man who was led by the Holy Spirit to revive the industrial streets of Los Angeles, where they used skin color and race to segregate the church. When you think about church do you think segregation? No, you would think the church would be the last place where there would be segregation. Many were seeking for more from God, particularly in the holiness groups. Some were offering divine healing prayer with notable results. Others were asking God for a Pentecostal outpouring of holiness and power. And when it did they wouldn't be able to control it, when the spirit broke out in those streets nothing could stop it. It was like a fire overcoming the people and their tongues, and there was no one person there. Black and white people were praising god together and in that moment I'm pretty sure they couldn't even see color anymore because the power was that strong. Some key points to a genuine out pouring of the holy spirit, is to repent of your sins truly mean it when you are doing, know why you are doing it, and give yourself completely over to the spirit. I learned that it doesn't matter where you come from and who you are or what you look like you can receive the Holy spirit, because we are all God's children and we deserve to have the spirit inside of all of us. I also learned that if Seymour can lead people to the Lord what is stopping me from doing the same, I'm going to try and work harder because I don't want to see anyone go to hell we should want to save everyone. Winning souls over to the Lord must be a wonderful experience, and I know that William J. Seymour experienced that a lot throughout those days he increased the time of his prayer from 2 hours to 5 hours. Though he was blind in one eye it didn't stop him from spreading the love and compassion of the Lord our God who saved our souls, by sending his only son to die on the cross for our sins, he didn't have to but he ... Online learning also can be challenging according to The International Journal of Continuing Education & Lifelong Learning: Reasons or factors affecting students dropping out from their distance learning studies were found in a study carried out in 2007–08 by using group interviews and a survey questionnaire. Based on the reasons found in focus group interviews, a questionnaire consisting of possible dropout reasons was devised and administered to all 'dropout' students in the two cohorts. The reasons for student dropout found in the questionnaire study were classified into three categories. The first category of reasons is called 'not addressable' and is found to predominantly to include students' personal reasons. The second category is called 'not readily addressable. They include reasons, such as high tuition fees and heavy amount of coursework. The third category is 'addressable' factors, and these include failure to maintain motivation in study, and so forth (Yuen, Lee, & Tsang, 2011, p. 25). The way parents spoke of responsibility, portraying so much struggle and frustration, it was evident most individuals dreaded growing up and acquiring more responsibility than simple chores around the house. That was then. When one experiences what comes with age, things become easier to accept. Through the years one can learn to distinguish the difference between selfishness and independence. Suffice it to say, let us discuss how finding financial balance is important. I have yet to receive my degree in higher education, and let me say it has been hard to get where I am at this time without it. Experiencing any shortage on monetary endowments will keep reality in check. So, I developed managing money as good as possible by practicing cost–efficient spending, stretching pay periods, and exhausting monetary resources. By focusing on balancing my finance on what is necessary vs. what is preferred, I can return to school. By prioritizing what needs to be paid first, I am directly supporting my personal responsibility to myself. Ideally, everyone wants to pay off all debts. Being able to prioritize which debts are paid off first supports organization and validity in all aspects of an individual's life. From the time their children are teenagers through the time they finish high school they start learning how to make choices in life. Children start thinking about what they want to be, a doctor, nurse or a police. What college we want to attend or what trade school do we want to attend. Next we start thinking about where we want to work when we finish school, a hospital, private company, or even a bank. Later, we may start thinking about whether we want to have a family or we may already have a family and need to know how we are only to take care of our family. These are choices we will make but none of them will be honorable decisions or good choices if we do not follow through. That means we have to committee ourselves to the decision we made, whether going to school or starting a career. If going to school is the choice made, there need to be set times for studying, doing class assignments, homework, and getting good grades. If time is set aside for school and commitment is made, there will be success in school because you showed responsibility to finish your assignments, studying, and getting good grades, this shows responsibility because you completed what you started. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Two aspects that can be difficult for people to control of are education and personal responsibility. It is always easier to shift blame when things do not go as planned, such as failing a quiz, or turning in an assignment late. Those who shift blame have an external locus of control, meaning they blame others instead of taking responsibility for their actions. Sisney et al., (2000) reported that students having an external locus of control correlated to lower academic achievement and higher dropout rates. High school dropouts exhibited more external control and were less likely to stay in school because they feel that their destiny is out of their hands. If you make a mistake you should own it, and never shift the blame, always plan to be honest in everything you say and do. The most important reason if I hold myself accountable for my actions I am more likely to move toward my goals is that by using time management strategies, planning, and goal setting I am ensuring my college success. By using time management strategies, the student must figure out how to use time wisely and organize tasks that need to be completed. I could even choose to complete tasks early so I would not get the overwhelmed feeling when the deadline arrives. Being more dedicated to the task at hand as well as my classmates and instructors would help me progress toward my goals as well. • 19. Personal Responsibility Reflection Q1: How have your views on business and personal responsibility changed, if at all, over the course of the semester? Throughout the course of this semester, my views on business and personal responsibility changed drastically. While completing the corporate social responsibility assignment as well as reading about Bill Strickland's story and the Frontline "Poisoned Waters" video, I learned many new lessons on the importance of social responsibility. For starters, the corporate social responsibility project opened my eyes to all the positive impacts that large companies are making in the world. More specifically, for my project, I researched Marriott International. Initially, I was unaware of all the steps they take increase sustainability. Each year they take steps to cut down water waste, carbon emission and landfill waste. This is a very tall task because they own over six thousand properties. I was completely unaware that large companies similar to Marriott were concerned about the environment. Secondly, while reading Bill Strickland's "Make the Impossible Possible" I learned many helpful lessons. One thing that stuck with me was Bill's ambition to chase his dreams. While working with ceramics, he found something that he truly enjoyed, and he knew that crafting could help influence others too. Though he grew up in a poor, destructive neighborhood, he didn't let that stop him. When he finally opened up his first craftsman's guild I knew that he would have the ability to make it special. After expansion and reassessment, Bill was finally make his dream a reality by creating the beautiful Manchester Bidwell center. Although this was not an easy process, he stuck with it and can now be very proud of what he created. Lastly, he shows that people should never give up on their dreams and that people should give back to their community whenever possible. Lastly, the poisoned water video had a large impact on me. That video showed the results of what happens when companies aren't sustainable and let waste build up. The video showed examples of the waste accumulating in the Puget Sound as well as how farms are dealing with there waste problems. The documentary was a little sad because it showed all the mutations ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One can never fully achieve the ultimate goal of becoming personally and socially responsible as it's always expanding. TPSR is built upon the foundation of putting kids first, human decency, holistic self–development, and as Nick Forsberg said "a way of being" (19). It is important for a teacher to put aside personal goals and achievements to focus on the students. The students well being and personal growth must be the focal point. Along with these important core values TPSR is structured around a five level system. The first two level are considered a beginner level of TPSR and touch on respect and effort. Within the begining levels a student will begin to understand the role expectations placed upon him or her in the classroom. This includes peaceful and respectful participation in every activity with a maximum effort and a positive attitude. The third and fourth level to TPSR involve self–direction and helping. The setting and constant evaluation of these goals and priorities becomes the framework of a successful life and a vital gauge for one to evaluate their progress. Strategies as simple as writing your goals down can be useful in solidifying those goals, as outlined in Becoming a Master Student (Toft, 2011): "Writing down your goals exponentially increases your chances of meeting them. Writing exposes undefined terms, unrealistic time frames, and other symptoms of fuzzy thinking." Having your goals in a 'real' format makes them harder to lose track or sight of. However, if one is not willing to truly take personal responsibility for the outcome of their progress, they will never make it very far in pursuit of their goals and any real personal growth becomes stunted. While some people believe that they are able to lead a successful life without taking any responsibility and just drift, this is a misconception. Achieving success comes through the crafting of an individual framework of goals and priorities that one will strive toward, measuring success through their progress toward these goals. This can take wildly different forms for each individual, as each person must use tactics that make sense to them. Personally, my own plan to engrain personal responsibility into my education involves constant evaluation of my progress via my calendar and prioritized lists and through tracking of my grades. • 24. Examples Of Personal Responsibility John DeManuelle 3/17/18 Personal Responsibility To be successful you must be responsible for your actions. Personal responsibility is having integrity, and taking ownership for your actions. Doing the right thing will demonstrate being personally responsible and will result in a successful experience in life. Personal responsibility is taking ownership of your thoughts and actions. To me, personal responsibility is having integrity. What I mean by this is being trustworthy, to do the right thing all the time. For example, plagiarizing work, if someone is trustworthy they will do their own work, rather than copy someone else's and turning that work in for a grade. If someone is to have integrity, they will also report any wrong doings that they are aware of. If you know of someone that is cheating or plagiarizing and you do not report the incident, you are just as much at fault as the other person. Above would be another example of what I believe personal responsibility means, doing the right thing even though it may not be the popular thing to do. Fraud would also be a concern if someone supplies false information in order to get benefits that they do not qualify for. Alternative:As an alternative of giving welfare directly to those in need, funding programs that educate on new skills or help seeking jobs for the unemployed should be implemented. After all, there is a dire need for social change in a society that is becoming ever more self–centered and materialistic. This social change might come from laws that encourage some sort of responsibility. For example, in Texas, a future policy forsocial responsibility could be a ban on texting and driving. Personal responsibility policies could be limits on welfare benefits and childhood immunization requirements. While a welfare reform would ease the burden of taxpayers and bans on texting and driving and requirements of immunization would protect society from harm, these policies encourage quite a bit of debate. Basically, it is difficult to enact laws that are for the benefit of society as a whole without interfering or restrictingindividual freedoms, and vice versa. In the modern day and age, there are many groups who either demand to keep their rights protected, like minority groups, or emerging groups that want legislation passed to protect their rights, like the homosexual community. Of course, there is nothing wrong with these rights, after all, the basic foundation of democracy guarantees equality. As a result, they plan different strategies to help improve the quality of life, so they start working on themselves by being more responsible for their actions and helping others in different ways for a better society. Furthermore, they can be also responsible for the choices that they are making in life because they may affect their body and create a door for a physical problem. Furthermore, people need to be responsible for their intellectual growth as well. In order to be self–sufficient, individuals need to be prepared for life challenges. They can start by going to college to become well educated, and receive a degree, find a job, and be able to take care of themselves without expecting assistance from government, parents, or others. When people are able to keep the balance, they will not be a charge or a problem to the public. Because responsibility is the force that binds an individual to the course of action demanded by the goal, personal responsibility can incur beneficial habits and admirable behaviors that will advocate successful outcome. In this case study 554 students divided into teams in accordance with their performance. Equal parts high, average, and low performers. The teams engaged in class time, team discussions, and test, over three semesters with one variance the grading. In semester one, the team received 10 points bonus if the team raised their final grade by one point. In semester one, they made six points for team improvement and four points for individual improvement. In semester three, the students collected 10 points, but only if they accomplished both individual, and group improvement. The group would not collectively receive any points. This study found when high performance students benefited individually they improved, but when only the group benefited their scores suffered. The high performance students used their time reviewing material and helping the low performers understand the material. They lost their own time for review and henceforth their grades suffered. Conclusion In conclusion, Personal responsibility is composed of many tools that will allow an individual or team to succeed. Simply because it is, the force that keeps an individual on course with the end goal, using these tools will enable inherent success. Personal Responsibility Personal Responsibility Alexandria Hopson GEN/200 November 18, 2013 Jeremy NeVille Personal Responsibility Personal responsibility is an action or actions taken on by an individual to recognize his or her own choices and obligations, made in everyday life. Every individual has a responsibility for their own burdens; no one else can be held accountable for those actions. As college students, we have to know what is right and wrong by following moral values to allow us to form a relationship to become successful in college, and follow through with this by forming a plan to practice throughout our education. As an individual there is a responsibility to make choices both in education and in everyday life. When he or she is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This comes back to a saying "if you cant do the time, then don't do the crime" (Blake, 1975–1978). You may also have responsibilities learned by a parent. These can range anywhere from basic chores such as feeding the animals. This teaches a responsibility to care for someone/something else whom cannot care for them. Finally you need to put into place a plan to execute these responsibilities. A particular plan that I have in mind in relevance to education and career responsibilities would be to plan ahead, be organized, and stay on track. This will allow you to prioritize all your assignments/workload to prepare yourself incase an emergency appears and to keep you from procrastinating allowing your grade to suffer. However in relating to moral values, a plan must be set from a young age; this can either be set by your parents leading my example or by yourself. If you are setting that plan yourself you may need to recognize yourself as a monarch (someone of higher title) not to allow others to diminish your beliefs. In conclusion personal responsibility is an action, an obligation, and a choice in a persons everyday life; that holds us accountable for our actions. Knowing what is right and wrong by owning up to our burdens and by moral values set forth either by past personal experience or by moral values set

  • 41. The Necessity of Personal Responsibility Essay Personal responsibility may be perceived in many ways, but it is imperative to understand the relevance of why it must begin with our self. First, one will never develop an attitude of responsibility if they always look for others to complete their task. It is a necessity that one has personal discipline or their efforts to be responsible will prove to be fruitless. Second, being responsible yields great rewards and acting responsible is a clear sign of maturity. A responsible individual looks to no one but self and no matter what the outcome; they are willing to stand by their decisions. Personal responsibility may yield many rewards. For example, Mary's entry level position at Trump Towers was administrative assistant. During a period of one year, Mary validated her worth by working overtime and always volunteering to help with other projects. As Mary continued to flourish in completing her assignments, she was elevated from administrative assistant to executive director of the accounting department. There are many levels of maturity, but maturity is a process that students develop over a period of time. Consequently, the student that matures quickly is likely to initiate an educational plan that will increase their academic success. One preliminary plan that a student can design to achieve academic success is goal setting. Goal setting allows the student to define their academic goals and to devise a plan that will accommodate their collegiate career. "One way to make goals effective is to examine them up close." (Ellis, p. 70,2011) Prior to this point we established several factors to confirm the necessity of personal responsibility, but here we will interject effective strategies that a student must use to generate success in their chosen field of study. Research and observation reveals that the most successful students are accountable, but also have a strong determination to apply practical concepts to achieve their academic goals. • 42. Personal Responsibility For Ma 's Success Essay A number of factors contributed to Ma's success. It may be useful to start with some of the key business principles he has vocalized and to refer to his background from there. His first principle relates to his own personal responsibility for the consequences associated with his business decisions. He has noted somewhat dramatically that if anyone has to go to jail as a result of following his direction, he should be the first to go. He also stated during his IPO in New York that if shareholders were unhappy, he would be willing to buy the company back from them. It is not clear whether this is a realistic suggestion, but the sentiment is certainly rare. This sense of personal responsibility often derives from starting in a position where one intimately knows all of his colleagues. This was the case when Alibaba began. Another of Ma's core principles has been to maintain a sense of direction. As the CEO is responsible for setting the mission and the aim of a company, this job also entails expressing this to leading management the company as a whole as well as setting in place the process to execute it. Looking back, Ma has been instrumental in the company's continual innovation, acquisition and expansion. This progress is reminiscent of clear task–oriented goals. Ma is careful to remind business leaders that a sense of modesty is helpful to the learning process. He claimed he is always happy when he has a student who knows something he does not.
