Rhetorical Devices In Genesis
Throughout the Pentateuch (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy), the authors work to create a clear picture of God's redemptive plan
to bring reconciliation from Abram. In a way, Genesis shows the struggle from paradise to pandemonium to plan in Primeval history. The verses point
out that sin is just getting worse. Specifically, the author of Genesis one through eleven uses rhetorical devices to evaluate the snowball effect of sin
leading to the need for God's intervention. In Genesis one, readers see that creation is closest to God's heart. Genesis one, two, and three consists of
two different creation accounts. Throughout these accounts, it is clear that God is a God who separates creation and fills it with good things. In... Show

Eve took what God created to be good. Immediately after Eve does this, God looks for Adam and Eve in the garden, hunting for them to start
redemptive work. From the beginning of sin, God is trying to undo the wrath of sin. Readers see sin snowball quickly when Adam and Eve start to
blame each other. Adam blames the woman and God for giving him the woman. Eve blames the serpent. What was marriage to the full has turned into
a fiasco. The Lord then gives consequences for the disobedience in the garden. Sin creates consequences of separation, fear, shame, blame, and pain
that ripple through the rest of Genesis. Specifically, God puts the consequence of death on Adam. However, in the midst of sin, readers see the
protoevangelium (first presentation of the redemptive plan– Jesus). The scripture reads, "And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and
between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel" (Genesis 3:15). From the beginning, the plan of redemption on
the cross through Jesus is highlighted to say that sin does not have the final word, and neither does Satan.
After the fall, stories of severe sin floods through the rest of the primeval history. The first sin evident is through Cain and Abel, Adam and Eve's
children. Sacrifices begin to be offered after the fall. Abel offers the Lord a lamb while Cain offers fruits. In a way, the redemptive plan is evident in

Sabbath Roots the African Connection
Sabbath Roots. By Charles E Bradford. (Barre: Ministerial Association of the General Conference of Seventh–day Adventists, 1990. Pp. 234.
Acknowledgements, foreword, introduction, overview, works cited. $14.95 paper)
The purpose of the book "Sabbath Roots" is to show the tracings that led back to the seventh day being the sacred and holy day of rest in Africa. The
book also dwells on the fact that Africa was an initial place of where Sabbath was founded. This book displays about many countries in Africa but
emphasizes on Ethiopia. Ethiopia, it was the first Christian nation and was also a Sabbath keeping nation. It also has the distinction of being the only
African nation that never assimilated to European colonialism. Ethiopia ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sabbath keeping in Africa has a rich history. There is old history and new. The interesting area is that of the Ethiopian Sabbath keepers who were
constantly persecuted. From the early church starting with the Ethiopian Eunich whereas today with the many Adventist, Church of God groups, and
Sabbath keepers have a heart and desire to keep that day in spite of hardship. Bradford also reveals that there are more Sabbath keepers on the
continent of Africa than on any continent on the globe. There are over 20 million Sabbath keepers in Africa. Sabbath consciousness is increasing
among God people in Africa and in the African Diaspora. Africa is reaffirming her covenant relationship to her God according to the prophecy:
"Princes shall come out of Mizraim (Egypt); Cush (Ethiopia) shall soon stretch out her hands unto God. (Psalms 68:31). The only conflict with the
book is that these Africans were Sabbath keepers had a great deal in common with the Seventh day Adventist religion but they also had a lot in common
with the Jews. Also with their being no form of organization with in the barriers of the "church" or "religion," how can we be so sure that it is the same
religion as the Seventh Day Adventist church. The Ethiopians were strong believers in Sabbath keeping and also they sanctified the Sabbath has its
similarities to the Adventist church. Although the church was raised off of Western European traits that contradicts

"BLESSED BE THE LORD GOD OF SHEM"
THE SEMITIC ISRAELITES AND THE CANAANITES
And he said, Blessed be the Lord the God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant (Genesis 9:26). Noah blessed the Lord, not Shem. This prophecy
was in connection with the Messiah coming from Shem's offspring's through Abraham's descendants to save the world, and be a blessing to all

After the death of Solomon, many years later, Israelites became bondmen to king Necho an Ethiopian Pharaoh of Egypt, who put the land of Judaea
under tribute and taxed them heavily, both the Canaanites and the Jews in these regions paid tributes of bondmen to the Egyptians dynasty (2 Kings
23:31–35; 2 Chronicles 36:3). Later king Nebuchadnezzar invaded Israel and took great treasures out of the land of Israel, and the Canaanites and the
Jews in these regions fell in the hands of the Babylonians, and the king of Babylon resumed collecting the tax which the Egyptian Pharaoh used to
collect from the people of Judea. (2 kings 24:1–2, 7, 10–17; 2 Chronicles 36:5–10). When the children of Israel was carried away to the land of
Babylon and Assyria, they were then replaced by foreigners (2 Kings 17:23–24). When the Persians conquered Babylon, the kingdom of Judea, the
Canaanite and the Babylonians fell into the hands of the Persian empire, and the people in the kingdom of Babylon became bondmen to the Persian

World Mythology: Biblically Inspired Film Noah
"Biblically Inspired" Film Noah...Or is It?
World Mythology studies show that historic writings all around the world, including Islamic, Chinese, and Hawaiian sources, tell a story of a flood
that covered the earth (Leeming 138). Most often, however, the Great Flood story is associated with the biblical account of Noah and the ark found in
the Bible. Because of the popularity of Noah's story according to the ancient Hebrew Scripture, filmmakers produced a movie titled Noah in 2014 that
claims to be biblically inspired. Since the Bible is the basis of Christianity, films that represent the Bible also represent Christianity. And, in America,
the country with the highest Christian population found by Pew Research Center to be 246,780,000 Christians ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Meanwhile, Ham felt as if he didn't belong with his family anymore, so he threw the Serpent's skin at Noah and left to start his own life. Noah
realized what a wreck he had become, and Ila talked to him. She made him realize that the Creator didn't necessarily want him to end mankind, but
He instead gave Noah the decision to let mankind continue or not. This comforted Noah, and he came back to living with his family in their
establishment. He then performed a ritual with the Serpent's skin (the same ritual his father was doing before he was killed) to pass a birthright to his
family. A rainbow orb appeared in the sky to end the movie.
Anyone that knows anything about the real Biblical account of Noah and the ark story would know that this movie totally perverts it. But since the
film only claims to be "Biblically inspired", some may think this deviation is acceptable. However, the phrase "Biblically Inspired" uses a sort of
weasel word. A weasel word can be defined as the following:
Weasel words get their name from the way weasels eat the eggs they find in the nests of other animals. A weasel will make a small hole in the egg,
suck out the insides, then place the egg back in the nest. Only when it is examined closely is it found to be hollow. That's the way it is with weasel
words in advertising: Examine weasel words closely and you'll find that they're as hollow as any egg sucked by a weasel. (Lutz

Graduation Speech: White Privilege And Racial Discrimination
Hello Sir, I wanted to say thank you once again for the past three days of lectures and your willingness to allow me to ask you a wide variety of
questions. We have had many incredible professors this year teaching on a wide variety of topics. While I can't pick a favorite, you and Victor Claar
have most definitely have stood out to me. In addition to thanking you, I was emailing you with two questions. The first was to do with the topic of
white privilege and racial discrimination. I wanted to know if you'd recommend any reading material that would be helpful with approaching the issue
among largely white, republican circles. We discussed the issue to some extent but I forgot to get any further material to study. Secondly, I had a

Who Was Melchizedek?
Who was Melchizedek?
Genesis 14:18 The question of "who was Melchizedek?" is a mystery which has never fully been answered or solved. We do know that Genesis
14:18 says that "Melchizedek was king of Salem" and "was the priest of God Most High." Does this verse give enough information to determine just
who he was; after all there is no genealogy for him. Various theories suggest who Melchizedek may have been, and all accounts are relatively similar.
We will concentrate on three different commentaries to obtain a better understanding of the person of Melchizedek. Matthew Henry's Commentary
starts like most of the other descriptions, making reference to Genesis 14:18, "He was king of Salem and priest of the most high God". Henry's ... Show

But this time was before the law and before the Levitical priesthood. Guzik does not make Melchizedek out to be more than a king and a priest, but
like Henry he list suggestions of who others think he might represent: 1. Seth, Noah's son; 2. Job, or an angel; 3. An outer–space visitor; 4. An
"unfallen Adam" from another planet, sent to observe the progress of God's work of redemption for this fallen race. Melchizedek walked in and out of
the pages of the Bible with little or no fanfare. Who is Melchizedek? Genesis 14:18 says he was the king of Salem, and that he was the priest of
God Most High. That is all we know. Had Genesis stopped at him being the king of Salem and omitted he was the priest of God Most High, there
probably would be no further discussion concerning him. Melchizedek must have known Abram because when he blessed him in verse 19 he said,
"Blessed be Abram of God Most High." He knew Abram's name and he knew that Abram trusted in God. Melchizedek and Abram reciprocated one
another in that Melchizedek "brought out bread and wine" (vs. 18) and Abram "gave him a tithe of all" (vs. 20). The One Volume Bible Commentary
by J.R. Dummelow does not try to give many explanations as to who Melchizedek was. I agree with Dummelow's commentary more than the other
two because he sticks close to the Scriptural account, however I do not agree with his statement that Abram in a general way could have acknowledge
Melchizedek as his god.

Noah And Noah : The Story Of Noah By Tubal-Noah
In the movie Noah, you are exposed to many different scenarios and decisions that have various ways to be looked at and how someone would deal
with it personally. Although this myth is based on a time that we will never be apart of because it was so long ago you can still see how this relates to
the same things that are happening in today's world just not in the same exact scenario. The quote by Tubal–Cain in the movie he say's " Man isn't
ruled by the Heavens. A man is ruled by his will." (Noah, Aronofsky) That is one part of the movie that stood out the most to me. I think it was a
major part of the author's purpose in this movie, how he could show there are two sides of people and how some choose to let their selfishness rule
them instead of being obedient and following the creator's rules for them. In a brief explanation of the movie, Noah is a flood myth that took place
before Christ existed. It starts off with the off–springs off Cain and Abel that declared war against each other because of their beliefs. Noah, the son of
Lamech says that The Creator has spoken to him through his dreams at night and that a flood is coming to wipe out the human race because of how
they treated his world. He wants a fresh start to the world he created, and this is because he no longer will watch what they have done to it. Noah is
told that he has a task of creating an ark for all of the animals to survive the flood since they are innocent to The Creator. Noah is only to allow his

A Research Study On Prevention
In my research I've found that prevention is the key to treatment. Here are some suggestions that I propose.
Firstly, I suggest that the communities of San Juan County work together to educate the youth early and de–romanticize the drinking experience by
having Al anon speakers, speak about the dangers. Real life experiences are proven to hold a greater impact on an audience rather than just some
literature. There are 37 states so far to require some sort of drug and alcohol prevention in the classrooms. Although in theory this is a good idea, lack
of resources and teacher education on the subject cause the idea to fall short. In a paper wrote for the Hazledon Betty Ford Foundation, Join Together,
a nonprofit group established at Boston University School of Public Health reports that schools "should not be relied upon to act as the principal
provider of general prevention programs." Join Together believes what's needed is "a comprehensive community prevention strategy that includes
parents and other social institutions". This is further proving that early indicators of alcoholism may be prevented with the proper training and education.
The strategies used in Join Together's moment include research–based prevention programs, and teacher training specifically for educating parents and
students. The sooner kids and teens learn about the indicators of alcoholism the less likely they are to become young adults with alcohol dependency.
Join Together also recommends that older

Textual Analysis Of Genesis Chapter 11
In chapter 11 we begin to see people start to build and expand and get comfortable living on earth. God see this and decides to challenge them by
having people speak different languages and by placing people in different areas around the world. Chapter 11 is a great chapter that shows us people
obeying God's command to Adam and Eve, which was be fruitful and multiply. We see this especially in verses 20–26 of chapter 11, when author
writes about the descendants of Shem. While reading chapter 12 I noticed that it seemed a little different compared to the other chapter in Genesis that
we have read. It feels like chapter 12 is a turning point from the rest of the chapters in Genesis. Once the Fall happened the following chapters seemed

The Model Of Microcredit Lending
While the spread of microcredit as a development practice has enabled borrowers in many developing countries to access credit, not all experiences
with microcredit have been positive. The original model of microcredit lending was not effective in alleviating poverty. To remedy this, an "improved"
lending model was introduced; however, this model, too, has failed the impoverished citizens of the developing world because of its exclusivity.
Traditional microcredit loaning systems require some form of material collateral to ensure that a borrower will repay their loan. This excludes the
ultra–poor due to their lack of possessions to use as collateral (Schurmann and Johnston 2009, 521). To solve this issue and provide the poorest citizens

The access to and inequality of microcredit loans needs to be remedied in order for the system to be effective in alleviating poverty. To be eligible
for some microcredit programs, there are strict requirements that must be met: some programs require that all children in a household receiving
funds be in good health (Ott and Hauville 2004, 558), and some have a maximum land allowance, meaning that families with greater than 0.5 acres
of land are ineligible to receive a microcredit loan (Ahmed 2005, 96). These requirements are unfair because families may be applying for a loan to
care for their sick child, or may be unable to maximize the use of their land without a loan to be used to obtain the tools needed to work their land.
This inaccessibility to and inequality in the distribution of microcredit loans has not allowed the impoverished citizens of the developing world to
better their economic situation and rise out of poverty.
For those people, most often women, able to access loans through any form of microcredit, the poverty that initially brought them to seek a loan is
perpetuated by high interest rates and large payments required to the community. Some microcredit institutions, though claiming to be supporting
women in their business ventures and seeking to decrease poverty in

Hasidic Judaism is a branch of Orthodox Judaism established in Eastern Europe during the 1800's that put spirituality and a connection with God

also a philosophy and a way of life for the Jewish people. One of the oldest monotheistic religions, Judaism has evolved over the years since the time of

Troubled with the increase in Cossack Pogroms and Jewish ethnic cleansings under Chmielnicki during the latter 17th century, Polish Jews were

The Movie : Noah And The Bible Story
For my essay I will be analyzing the similarities and differences between the interpretations of Noah the film: Noah (Paramount Pictures and Regency
Enterprises, 2014) and the bible story. Writer–director Darren Aronofsky, was brought up with a Jewish education and a deep fascination in the story of
Noah 's ark it took him over 15 years to get the film afloat. But with all biblical movies there is always some type of controversy and unfortunately it
even comes from people who have never even seen the movie. The intended audience of the film is unclear, which I find a little weird because I
expected the audience to Christians and people of the Jewish faith who know the story of Noah.
The beginning two and a the half minutes into the movie describes the beginning of the Book of Genesis including creation, the original sin, the curse
of Cain, and anything preceding Noah. The movie continues with Noah as a child, on a hill with his father Lamech, who is about to give him an
important heirloom – the skin of the original serpent from Eden– which has been passed down. Then suddenly, a large group of people led by a young
king named Tubal–Cain, who wants to make that land into a mine approaches Lamech. Seeing Noah's father, Tubal–Cain kills him and takes the serpent
's skin, while Noah runs.
In the bible it doesn 't say anything about passing on a snake 's skin or even that Noah's father had spoken to him. In the bible the story begins with the

Unlike any of the other characters in the story has a REAL sense of compassion and empathy towards others especially Ivan during his last weeks.
Since Gerasim has the well–being of others ahead of his own he is able to connect with people on a more personal scale, which breaks down barriers.
With stating this Gerasim is the only character in this story that is able to confront death with equanimity and courage. Gerasim again is the only
character in this story that accepts that dirt, death and illness are all parts of life's grand journey. At the end of Ivan's life it is Gerasim that is the one
that helps with Ivan's excretions and helps to put Ivan's feet up at night, he sees by doing these duties for Ivan that he is helping a slowly dying man.
Gerasim is the only character in this story that "totally" helps Ivan reach spiritual growth. The nights when Gerasim would hold Ivan's legs, was a
time when Ivan "bridged the gap" between the physical and spiritual world. While supporting Ivan's legs, Ivan looks into Gerasim's face and is able
to realize the errors that he has done in the past. Gerasim exemplifies the right way to live; his contact with Ivan in his final days eases the man along
the road to spiritual health.
Proskovya Fedorovna (known from know on as PF) was Ivan's wife. To characterize PF throughout this whole story is to look at what she says in
response to PI at the funeral of Ivan.

The first division of Genesis 1–11 is about God and his creations and failure of humanity. In the beginning, God creates heaven, earth, and all living
things in six days. God forms Adam and Eve in his image and orders them to fill and govern the earth. However, the serpent deceives Eve, so she and
Adam eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil which God forbade them to eat. Their disobedience results sin entering into the world and

God chooses Abram, the descendant of Shem, to leave his family and head to Canaan. Making 'Abraham' a blessing to all people, God makes a
covenant that he will give Abraham a land of Canaan and make him a father of many nations. Afterwards, Sarah, Abraham's wife, gives birth to Isaac,
who will receive the inheritance. Therefore Ishmael, a son from Hagal, leaves Abraham, but he forms a nation as well. Abraham lives a life of faith

Reflection On Eve And Eve
The Book of Genesis opens the Hebrew Bible with the tale of creation. God, a soul floating over a vacant, watery void, makes the world by talking
into the dimness and calling into being light, sky, land, vegetation, and living animals through the span of six days. Every day, he stops to articulate
his works "good" (1:4). On the 6th day, God announces his aim to influence a being in his "to claim picture," and he makes mankind (1:26). He
designs a man out of clean and structures a lady out of the man's rib. God puts the two individuals, Adam and Eve, in the pure garden of Eden, urging
them to reproduce and to appreciate the world completely, and precluding them to eat from the tree of the learning of good and evil. In the garden,
Eve experiences a tricky serpent who persuades her to eat the tree's illegal natural product, guaranteeing her that she won't endure if she does as
such. Eve imparts the natural product to Adam, and the two are instantly loaded with disgrace and regret. While strolling in the garden, God finds
their defiance. In the wake of reviling the serpent, he turns and reviles the couple. Eve, he says, will be reviled to endure excruciating labor and
should submit to her significant other's power. Adam is reviled to drudge and till the fields for sustenance. The two are along these lines ousted from
Eden. Conveyed into the world, Adam and Eve bring forth two children, Cain and Abel. Cain, a rancher, offers God a bit of his products one day as a

Ancient Americans Essay
Some of the tribes from Shem were also descendants of the German people. The tribes from Shem migrated to Northern Europe, Southern Germany,
Austria and Switzerland. Hebrews descended from Eber who was a great grandson of Shem.
The tribes from Ham were able to adapt to any conditions wherever they settled. Ham's tribes were easy to trace in history. They were known as the
great pioneers. Many of the early civilizations were originally from the family of Ham. They were the first to occupy many lands and later on other
tribes settled permanently in those lands.
The ancient people were considered barbarians, uncivilized, sub–human and illiterate. Nothing could be further from the truth. I strongly disagree with

This script dates back to the Middle Bronze Age which would be approximately 2500 BC. They have not ascertained if this was an example of
proto–writing (symbols) or if it is actual writing of the syllabic type. It has been suggested this might be a mature style of writing. Historians learned
about the early Chinese Shang Dynasty from 1200 BC from the written documents on bones, bronze or turtle shells. A stone slab, with 3,000 BC year
old writing, was discovered in the Mexican State of Veracruz. This would be the oldest script in the Western Hemisphere. The Phoenician alphabet is
basically the proto–Canaanite alphabet from the Iron Age (1050 BC). The Greeks borrowed the Phoenician alphabet and adapted it to their own
language. The tribe known as Latin (Romans) adopted writing from the Etruscans (tribe from Tiras, son of Japheth) and the Western Greeks in the fifth
century. The first pure alphabet with single symbols emerged around 1800 BC in ancient Egypt. Semitic workers in Egypt developed this alphabet as a
representation of language. Historians make a distinction between prehistory and the history of early writing, but have disagreed if proto–writing is
considered true writing. Papyrus (reed) was the principle writing

When God first created Earth along with the heavens;
Earth was empty and desolate. God then created light, and separated it from darkness. That was 1st day.
He made heaven next to separate the waters, and that was the 2nd day.
He then made dry land to contrast with the waters and it was called Earth. He called the waters seas. Then he created vegetation. This marked the 3rd

Historical View Of Slavery
This paper shall examine A Scriptural, Ecclesiastical, and Historical View of Slavery, from the Days of the Patriarch Abraham to Nineteenth Century
(1864) by John Henry Hopkins, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Vermont, and Critical History and Defense of the Old Testament Canon by Moses
Stuart, pastor of the Centre Church of New Haven and scholar at Andover Theological Seminary. Hopkins and Stuart–notable northern writers on
Christian theology–were theologically compatible with their southern contemporaries. This harmony becomes readily apparent when comparing them
with Thornton Stringfellow's "A Brief Examination of Scripture Testimony on the Institution of Slavery" and "Slavery and theBible" in De Bow's
Review. Two biblical proslavery... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, many maintained, the Apostles affirmed human bondage. A specific example was the Epistle of Paul to Philemon, in which Paul addressed
Philemon on how he should treat his runaway slave, Onesimus, who had converted to Christianity. An anonymous author, published in De Bow's
Review, which was "one of the most important antebellum journals in the South," and Hopkins argued Paul's message was not one of abolition, but of
perpetual servitude. This was not something Paul would have done, if enslavement was sinful, declared De Bow's Review, "Now, had holding slaves
been a crime, Paul's duty to Philemon would have required him to instruct Philemon, that he had no rights over Onesimus, but that attempt to hold him
in servitude, was criminal[.]" Moreover, as an Apostle of Christ, Paul had an obligation to instruct Christians according to His commands, as they
pertained to human bondage, believed Hopkins. Therefore, he questioned, "Why does [Paul] not write to his disciple, Philemon, and rebuke him for
the awful sin of holding a fellow–man in bondage, and charge it upon him, as a solemn duty, to emancipate his slaves, at the peril of his soul?"
Hopkins succinctly offered an answer to this question, surmising, "St. Paul was inspired, and knew the will of the Lord Jesus Christ, and was only
intent on obeying it." Seemingly, writers in both regions read the

Algebra 1b
Hello it is your student Shems Haman from algebra 1b. I thought this unit was very important for the future of algebra. One subject I learned from
this unit is exponents. The teacher assigned us a video to watch and I liked how they put all the technique of exponents in just one video. They said
there was six tools / techies for exponents. The first tool/ technique is the power of one. For example x^1 then that would equal x because this rule
says if nothing is with the exponent 1 it will always equal itself. Another tool/ technique is if you have a negative exponent then it is it's inter verse.
For example if you have y^–4 then it is 1/y^4. This only works when y isn't 0. Multiplying exponent is another technique. This technique is when there
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This technique is instead of adding the exponent like multiplication you just subtract them. For x^3/x^2 = x^1. This only works if the variables are
the same. The second to last technique is the 0 power. The 0 power says that if the exponent is 0 then it will always equal 1. Finally, the last
technique is if you have (x^3)^2 you multiple the exponents so it would equal x^6. Another subject I leaned in this unit is earthquakes. What I
learned about earthquakes and what it has to do with math is there is a machine called ritcher scale and this calculates the power of the earthquake.
This is related to math because ritcher scale is logarithmic which means the magnitudes of earthquakes is ten times stronger. For example if the
magtuide is 0.1 then I would have to multiple by 10 so it would be 1. Finally, the last subject I learned in this unit is polynomial. One thing I learned is
adding polynomial. How you add polynomial is for example if I had (3b+6) (5b+5), first you would do 3b+5b = 8b+5+6 = 8b+11. You would do the
same following steps for subtraction. Another subject I learned is multiplying polynomial. How you multiple polynomial is for example (y+6)+(y+6),
first y*y= y^2 +6*6 =

Early Modern Era Research Paper
When I think of the early modern era it's very hard for me to not think of the Trans–Atlantic slave trade. Growing up as a black man in America it is
instilled in me to search the history of my ancestors just to have a sense of who I am and why I am the way I am. Many changes occurred in the
world during this time and the world today is a result of what took place in that time of history. In this paper I will explain the changes that impacted
that time and how it may have negatively or positively affected the world.
The early modern era for the European was the beginning of world domination. The protestant reformation, their war on the belief systems of people
on the world, and discovering new territories is what kicked off colonialism. Greece at the end of the classical era having 1/3 of their population being

conclusion that this is a misunderstanding of biblical text. These scriptures clearly states that Noah curses Canaan, but somehow this justifies the

Slavery Dbq Essay
Europeans, after the rise of the trans–Atlantic slave trade, vindicated the enslaving of Africans by depending on religious authority because they
supposedly followed God's will (notes). According to Pope Nicholas V, the African enslavement has helped the Catholic Church (source A). In a
1455 letter, he wrote, "... A large number of these have been converted to the Catholic faith..." (source A). The quote suggests the pontiff held a
positive outlook on slavery, but he only supported it for the conversion of the slaves (notes). Over 100 years later, a letter surfaced from Jesuit
Brother Luis Bandaon to Father Sandoval that read he and other educated Fathers from Brazil support slavery for the purpose of more conversions and

Europeans were bound to give more justifications on why slavery was only intended for Africans, thus they turned to the Bible. The controversial
"Story of Ham", from Genesis 9–10, reads the tale of Ham, a son of Noah, who saw his father intoxicated and sleeping bare (source C). When Noah
awoke, he claimed, "Cursed be Canaan! The lowest of slaves shall he be to his brothers" (source C). In the passage, he cursed Ham's son, Canaan,
and his descendants to be the slaves of his own brothers, Shem and Japheth (source C). Historians have debated about the story, in which some
believed Ham or Canaan was of African descent, even though it was never mentioned (source C). Others supported the idea that Noah's sons
symbolized a continent's residents; Ham personified Africa, Shem of Asia, and Japheth of Europe. Ham was also supposedly derived from the
ancient Hebrew words that meant black, brown, or dark. Philosopher Robert Boyle from 1644 is one to oppose the theory of Ham's descent

Noah Compare And Contrast Essay
In this essay I will compare and contrast the movie Noah and the bible references of Noah in Genesis 5–10. Sometimes when you read a book and then
watch a movie about it, it's completely different. But in the movie Noah and in the bible it basically follows his life the same, there aren't really any
differences. In the movie it describes about his life and his three sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And in the bible it describes about his life and three
sons.
Most importantly, in the movie Noah as young boy he witnesses his father Lamech get killed by Tubal–Cain. And years later as a young man Noah is
living with his wife Naameh, and three sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth. After witnessing a flower grow from the concrete and being haunted by
dreams of a flood, Noah takes time to visit his grandfather Methuselah. After meeting some people that had recently died they find one survivor, so
Noah and his wife decided to adopt her a young girl named lla. Then Noah and his family are chased by Tubal–Cain and his men seek refuge with the
fallen angels known as "The Watchers". Methuselah gives Noah a seed from Eden and tells him he was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But in the bible it doesn't really go into detail about what happened with him before the "great flood". And his wife isn't really addresses her by her
name Naameh. In the bible it "continuously" says his wife rather than Naameh. In the bible it also explains how old Noah's grandfather
Methuselah was when he died which he was 969 years old when he died. And it also says that Noah was 500 years old when he produced his three
sons. In the bible in chapter 7 it explains how god told Noah that he would cause it to rain for 40 days and 40 nights. It also says that Noah was 600
years old when he followed gods command and the flood waters began and he took his wife and sons and his sons wives and went into the ark.

bitter because of this. For this reason Canaan deceived his brother and killed him in the fields. This angered God, so he cursed Canaan and his

The Covenant Is A Binding Agreement Between Two Or More...
According to amightywind.com, a covenant is a legally binding agreement between two or more parties, based on unlimited responsibility. A covenant
differs from a contract because covenants require trust from both parties and cannot be voided under new circumstances. In a sense covenant are
stronger and more bidding forms of contracts. It is through this method God has chosen to communicate with his believers. There are seven covenants
found within the Bible; which are the Abrahamic, Palestinian, Mosaic, Davidic, Adamic, Noahic, and New covenants. The Adamic, Noahic, and New
apply to all of God's creation, the Abrahamic, Palestinian, and Davidic are unconditional, and the Mosaic covenant is conditional. Let's begin by
discussing the Abrahamic Covenant. This covenant is first mentioned in Genesis 12:1–3 that states, "Now the LORD had had to Abram: 'Get out of
your country, from your family and from your father's house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and
make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curses you; and in you all the families
of the earth shall be blessed." This covenant outlines God's relationship with the Israelites as well as with the entire world. The Abrahamic covenant is
seen as the guideline for all other covenant to follow. However, it was ratified with only Abraham and even he did not actively participate in signing it.

The Movie Noah Directed By Darren Aronofsky
The movie Noah directed by Darren Aronofsky is advertised as a representation of the biblical story of Noah and the flood. After watching this movie
and reading the story in the Bible, it is evident that there are some differences between the film and the story in God's book. The film does not only
use the Bible as a point of reference, but other historical books as well. The Epic of Gilgamesh or The Book of Enoch potentially influenced the
production of the movie. Aronofsky's interest in these sources is understandable as he is an atheist and most likely did not want to rely on biblical text
alone.
The story of the flood is well known throughout the world and it has affected many people groups. There are many accounts written on the story
because of this reason. The Bible has a written account of this story in Genesis, the Epic of Gilgamesh and the Book of Enoch do as well. The biblical
account of Noah is the true, real story that was written by God. If one compares the film to the Bible there are many differences and similarities
between the two mediums. Some of the similarities are evident, and some are more difficult to uncover. The Book of Enoch explains that Noah's
grandfather is Methuselah. This is shown in the movie, but is not as prominent in the biblical version, however it is still said. Knowing this
information, gives the viewer and reader a reference point of where Noah originally came from. One very noticeable parallel is how Noah and his wife

Genesis 1-11 Genealogy
In the Chapters 1–11 of Genesis, God provides the story of creation and the genealogy of those who maintained God's laws; together with, identifying
those from evil lineage, and those who remained pure in the blood and spirit of God. For instance, After Cain killed Abe, God blessed Adam and Eve
with Seth, and Cain was removed from God's presence. This began the first split between good and evil. Likewise, the Bible gives those descendants
from Cain and Seth, so future generations know their true lineage and who was responsible for God's wrath in the great flood. After the flood Noah,
Shem, Japheth, Ham, Canaan Ham's son, and their wives were left to repopulate the world, but Canaan was cursed over something his father did to

God removed those who sinned, because sin is not allowed in God's presence. Future generations were able to document these stories, and current
influences by God. As far as the story of Israel, those early scribes maintained very accurate records of their genealogy and stories, so when future
generations of Hebrews learned and kept God's laws, they would be blessed. So, I believe God created man and woman, like the angels, or the
Sons of God, with free will, to choose good or evil; however, both were to serve a different purpose, but neither creations were able to deny the
prince of lies and his manipulation. Most religions ignore those passages that speak of the Sons of God having children with the daughters of man,
maybe, because most find it hard to believe. I believe these were the fallen angels, who fell and lusted over those women from Cain's lineage, and
their offspring were the main reason for God's flood. Similarly, those future generations benefited by knowing who fell and those who walked with
God, and these stories would become part of the Christian's Word of

Not Wanted on the Voyage by Timothy Findley
The Family's fragility of trust of in Not Wanted on the Voyage
The family unit is an essential building block of human society. In Timothy Findley's novel "Not Wanted on the Voyage", Findley satirically tells the
problem of modern age family's problem which is isolated family units, parent–with–child relation problems, and an extramarital relationship. His
version of the story of the Biblical patriarch Noah and his family. In many societies based on Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, the original Biblical
story of Noah and his family is considered to be an excellent example of what a family should be. However in Findley's version, he tells the story of
a dysfunctional family. What Findley really wants to say is that as society goes through major changes catalyzed breaking the relationship of Family, it
exposes to uses the flood catalyzed the fragility of trust within the family unit. This is evident by Dr. Noah's marital issue with Mrs. Noyes, Noah's
sons' aggression towards his own parents, and Hannah's affair with her father–in–law.
In the family unit, the father is male parent who raises the child and supports his children and wife. However in Findley's version of Noah's story, he
tells about the problem of modern ages' isolating family units. Noah's wife, Mrs. Noyes, is one of the women in the family and a mother to Noah's
children. Compared to Noah in this novel, her power was restrained. She did not have too much power in family units. We can see an example of this

Compare And Contrast Hassidism And Zionism
Zionism and Hassidism are two entirely responses to one of the greatest questions in Jewish thought; how are the Jews to rule themselves without a
sovereign? The immensity of this pondering has birthed many movements, though Zionism and Hassidism were both particularly successful at
capturing the imagination and allegiance of many. While Hassidism adopts a highly spiritual outlook on exile, redemption and the return to Zion,
Zionism supports a territorial and political approach to the question of Jewish sovereignty. Hassidism tackles the issue of sovereignty through the
embracement of seclusion, anti–modernity and spirituality, while Zionism embodies a much more politicized, nationalized and modernistic approach:
while Hassidism takes great lengths to essentially freeze Jewish history, Zionism adapts its ideologies to the surrounding, contemporary world.
Hassidism is a sect of Judaism that arose as a reaction to the studious and law–oriented tendencies of the religion, as well as the centralized and often
corrupted rabbinical rule of the time. Emerging in 17th century Poland as both an intellectual and religious movement , Hassidism claimed that the

Application Of A Smart Home
ABSTRACT Residential area consume a lot of energy and electricity. The lack of energy resources give impact to the rise of energy cost, thus to
have a convenient home is extremely important in the future. One of the way to reduce the costs in this issue is by using the energy efficiently.
The idea of energy saving is applied in the concept of a smart home. This project aims to develop an algorithm to estimate the energy plans for
future periods in a smart home in order to achieve energy efficiency. Using the Household Demand Side Management (DSM) systems, the total
usage of energy in the future can be predicted according to the demand supply in the smart home. Furthermore, it is estimated that the
simultaneousness between production and consumption of the electricity will be increasing. In this case, the house owner should be able to
manage and plan to use the electricity wisely. Powerful tools such as MATLAB / Simulink allow the design, analysis and simulation of this project.
This project will in divided into various stages including researching, experimenting, modelling, testing and designing in order to achieve the

The Priestly Line Of Malki Tzedek
About the Priestly Line of Malki Tzedek – for those that want to learn more.
In Numbers 18 the Most High says, speaking about the priesthood, that it is an eternal covenant with Aaron and the Levites that these are the duties
that he and they have. What 's clear here is no one from the Davidic line in the tribe of Judah could ever bring an incense offering into mikdash
ha–kodesh(the holy of holies) in the Temple Lev 16:12–13. There can never be a high priest from the house of David. The priesthood belongs to Aaron,
his sons and the Levites forever.
This next point must be addressed. In the Tanakh(OT) it says David 's sons were priests (2 Sam 8:18), that doesn 't mean they were priests of Aaron.
The Hebrew word there translated as priests ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
David is given the power of defeating his enemies in the manner that Abraham was in Genesis 14. That power is being passed down to him and
now he will defeat his enemies. the Most High does not break His promises, they are covenants, He 's not going to change them. You are a priest
forever David is told, a Kohane, one who has been given an important office. David 's children are called priests, Kohane, that does not mean they are
of the lineage of Aaron and will officiate in the Temple performing priestly duties. It means David 's sons hold important offices.
Numbers 18:19 "All the gifts of the Kodesh things[offerings], which the children of Israel offer unto YHWH, have I given thee, and thy sons and thy
daughters with thee, as an eternal portion; it is an everlasting covenant of salt before YHWH unto thee and to thy seed with thee. '"
The Most High says the Priesthood belongs to Aaron and his descendants forever, a salt covenant. These are eternal covenants, they can not be
broken, in fact, the Most High calls it a salt covenant. Why a salt covenant? Because salt never spoils, it never degrades. Not only doesn 't it degrade
but it preserves food, it never changes. The covenant is as permanent as salt. So if someone tells you the covenant the Most High made with Aaron and
his sons, the covenant the Most High made with the tribe of Levi, the covenant the Most High made with the

There is a lot of reference made about Gentiles and Jews but it comes much later in the New Testament when the Jews having already rejected
Jesus Christ sought to assert religious superiority and thus the word Gentiles features but it too makes no racial distinction, there were no brown
black or white Gentiles, everyone else who wasn't a Jew was just a gentile, nothing more nothing less. Their idea of ethnic superiority did not come
from God as seen in Genesis 12:3 When God called Abraham, he said "In thee all thee families of earth would be blessed.". Genesis 22:18, says that
Abraham's seed "all the nations of earth would be blessed." The New Testament resonates with the old as Paul says in Galatians 3:6. God's offer of
salvation was to the entire world (see Matt. 28:19–20; Acts 1:8; 10:1–11:18; I John 2:2).
New Testaments show that God does not hold any significance to race. God sees us as one people; as "man." The physical characteristics of different
races have nothing to do with how God evaluates man

So more than likely Satan wanted Jonah dead for many reasons but mainly: 1) He saw that Jonah was going to be a prophet of the Lord. 2) That Jonah
saved hundreds and probably thousands from wrath of God. 3) Satan just likes destruction and wants all to die and burn in Hell.
The number of years Noah was building the Ark. "How many years did it take him?" "How did you come to this conclusion?" The bible doesn't really
say how long it took, but it was less than one hundred and twenty years. (Genesis– 5:32, 6:4, and 7:6) Some people have made the claim that this
passage means that it took Noah one hundred and twenty years to build the Ark. Even given the Ark's massive scale. (Roughly four hundred and fifty
feet long by seventy–five feet wide by forty–feet high), one hundred and twenty years seems like an excessively long time to take to build the Ark.
Most biblical scholars agree that God was saying the he was giving mankind, one hundred and twenty years in which to repent, after which would come
judgement for their wickedness. This means that Noah had one hundred and twenty years warning before the flood. We can reasonably assume that
God gave Noah the blueprints for the Ark at this

Rhetorical Devices In Genesis

  • 1. Rhetorical Devices In Genesis Throughout the Pentateuch (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy), the authors work to create a clear picture of God's redemptive plan to bring reconciliation from Abram. In a way, Genesis shows the struggle from paradise to pandemonium to plan in Primeval history. The verses point out that sin is just getting worse. Specifically, the author of Genesis one through eleven uses rhetorical devices to evaluate the snowball effect of sin leading to the need for God's intervention. In Genesis one, readers see that creation is closest to God's heart. Genesis one, two, and three consists of two different creation accounts. Throughout these accounts, it is clear that God is a God who separates creation and fills it with good things. In... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Eve took what God created to be good. Immediately after Eve does this, God looks for Adam and Eve in the garden, hunting for them to start redemptive work. From the beginning of sin, God is trying to undo the wrath of sin. Readers see sin snowball quickly when Adam and Eve start to blame each other. Adam blames the woman and God for giving him the woman. Eve blames the serpent. What was marriage to the full has turned into a fiasco. The Lord then gives consequences for the disobedience in the garden. Sin creates consequences of separation, fear, shame, blame, and pain that ripple through the rest of Genesis. Specifically, God puts the consequence of death on Adam. However, in the midst of sin, readers see the protoevangelium (first presentation of the redemptive plan– Jesus). The scripture reads, "And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel" (Genesis 3:15). From the beginning, the plan of redemption on the cross through Jesus is highlighted to say that sin does not have the final word, and neither does Satan. After the fall, stories of severe sin floods through the rest of the primeval history. The first sin evident is through Cain and Abel, Adam and Eve's children. Sacrifices begin to be offered after the fall. Abel offers the Lord a lamb while Cain offers fruits. In a way, the redemptive plan is evident in that God ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Sabbath Roots the African Connection Sabbath Roots. By Charles E Bradford. (Barre: Ministerial Association of the General Conference of Seventh–day Adventists, 1990. Pp. 234. Acknowledgements, foreword, introduction, overview, works cited. $14.95 paper) The purpose of the book "Sabbath Roots" is to show the tracings that led back to the seventh day being the sacred and holy day of rest in Africa. The book also dwells on the fact that Africa was an initial place of where Sabbath was founded. This book displays about many countries in Africa but emphasizes on Ethiopia. Ethiopia, it was the first Christian nation and was also a Sabbath keeping nation. It also has the distinction of being the only African nation that never assimilated to European colonialism. Ethiopia ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sabbath keeping in Africa has a rich history. There is old history and new. The interesting area is that of the Ethiopian Sabbath keepers who were constantly persecuted. From the early church starting with the Ethiopian Eunich whereas today with the many Adventist, Church of God groups, and Sabbath keepers have a heart and desire to keep that day in spite of hardship. Bradford also reveals that there are more Sabbath keepers on the continent of Africa than on any continent on the globe. There are over 20 million Sabbath keepers in Africa. Sabbath consciousness is increasing among God people in Africa and in the African Diaspora. Africa is reaffirming her covenant relationship to her God according to the prophecy: "Princes shall come out of Mizraim (Egypt); Cush (Ethiopia) shall soon stretch out her hands unto God. (Psalms 68:31). The only conflict with the book is that these Africans were Sabbath keepers had a great deal in common with the Seventh day Adventist religion but they also had a lot in common with the Jews. Also with their being no form of organization with in the barriers of the "church" or "religion," how can we be so sure that it is the same religion as the Seventh Day Adventist church. The Ethiopians were strong believers in Sabbath keeping and also they sanctified the Sabbath has its similarities to the Adventist church. Blessed Be The God Of Abraham Research Paper "BLESSED BE THE LORD GOD OF SHEM" THE SEMITIC ISRAELITES AND THE CANAANITES And he said, Blessed be the Lord the God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant (Genesis 9:26). Noah blessed the Lord, not Shem. This prophecy was in connection with the Messiah coming from Shem's offspring's through Abraham's descendants to save the world, and be a blessing to all humankind (Psalm 132:11; 89:3; Isaiah 11:1; Zechariah 2:10–12; Matthew 1:1; Luke 1:69; Acts 2:30–31; 13:22–23). After the death of Solomon, many years later, Israelites became bondmen to king Necho an Ethiopian Pharaoh of Egypt, who put the land of Judaea under tribute and taxed them heavily, both the Canaanites and the Jews in these regions paid tributes of bondmen to the Egyptians dynasty (2 Kings 23:31–35; 2 Chronicles 36:3). Later king Nebuchadnezzar invaded Israel and took great treasures out of the land of Israel, and the Canaanites and the Jews in these regions fell in the hands of the Babylonians, and the king of Babylon resumed collecting the tax which the Egyptian Pharaoh used to collect from the people of Judea. • 4. World Mythology: Biblically Inspired Film Noah "Biblically Inspired" Film Noah...Or is It? World Mythology studies show that historic writings all around the world, including Islamic, Chinese, and Hawaiian sources, tell a story of a flood that covered the earth (Leeming 138). Most often, however, the Great Flood story is associated with the biblical account of Noah and the ark found in the Bible. Because of the popularity of Noah's story according to the ancient Hebrew Scripture, filmmakers produced a movie titled Noah in 2014 that claims to be biblically inspired. Since the Bible is the basis of Christianity, films that represent the Bible also represent Christianity. And, in America, the country with the highest Christian population found by Pew Research Center to be 246,780,000 Christians ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Meanwhile, Ham felt as if he didn't belong with his family anymore, so he threw the Serpent's skin at Noah and left to start his own life. Noah realized what a wreck he had become, and Ila talked to him. She made him realize that the Creator didn't necessarily want him to end mankind, but He instead gave Noah the decision to let mankind continue or not. This comforted Noah, and he came back to living with his family in their establishment. He then performed a ritual with the Serpent's skin (the same ritual his father was doing before he was killed) to pass a birthright to his family. A rainbow orb appeared in the sky to end the movie. Anyone that knows anything about the real Biblical account of Noah and the ark story would know that this movie totally perverts it. But since the film only claims to be "Biblically inspired", some may think this deviation is acceptable. However, the phrase "Biblically Inspired" uses a sort of weasel word. A weasel word can be defined as the following: Weasel words get their name from the way weasels eat the eggs they find in the nests of other animals. A weasel will make a small hole in the egg, suck out the insides, then place the egg back in the nest. Only when it is examined closely is it found to be hollow. That's the way it is with weasel words in advertising: Examine weasel words closely and you'll find that they're as hollow as any egg sucked by a weasel. (Lutz ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We have had many incredible professors this year teaching on a wide variety of topics. While I can't pick a favorite, you and Victor Claar have most definitely have stood out to me. In addition to thanking you, I was emailing you with two questions. The first was to do with the topic of white privilege and racial discrimination. I wanted to know if you'd recommend any reading material that would be helpful with approaching the issue among largely white, republican circles. • 7. Who Was Melchizedek? Who was Melchizedek? Genesis 14:18 The question of "who was Melchizedek?" is a mystery which has never fully been answered or solved. We do know that Genesis 14:18 says that "Melchizedek was king of Salem" and "was the priest of God Most High." Does this verse give enough information to determine just who he was; after all there is no genealogy for him. Various theories suggest who Melchizedek may have been, and all accounts are relatively similar. We will concentrate on three different commentaries to obtain a better understanding of the person of Melchizedek. Matthew Henry's Commentary starts like most of the other descriptions, making reference to Genesis 14:18, "He was king of Salem and priest of the most high God". Henry's ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But this time was before the law and before the Levitical priesthood. Guzik does not make Melchizedek out to be more than a king and a priest, but like Henry he list suggestions of who others think he might represent: 1. Seth, Noah's son; 2. Job, or an angel; 3. An outer–space visitor; 4. An "unfallen Adam" from another planet, sent to observe the progress of God's work of redemption for this fallen race. Melchizedek walked in and out of the pages of the Bible with little or no fanfare. Who is Melchizedek? Genesis 14:18 says he was the king of Salem, and that he was the priest of God Most High. That is all we know. Had Genesis stopped at him being the king of Salem and omitted he was the priest of God Most High, there probably would be no further discussion concerning him. Melchizedek must have known Abram because when he blessed him in verse 19 he said, "Blessed be Abram of God Most High." He knew Abram's name and he knew that Abram trusted in God. Melchizedek and Abram reciprocated one another in that Melchizedek "brought out bread and wine" (vs. 18) and Abram "gave him a tithe of all" (vs. 20). The One Volume Bible Commentary by J.R. Dummelow does not try to give many explanations as to who Melchizedek was. I agree with Dummelow's commentary more than the other two because he sticks close to the Scriptural account, however I do not agree with his statement that Abram in a general way could have acknowledge Melchizedek as his god. • 8. Noah And Noah : The Story Of Noah By Tubal-Noah In the movie Noah, you are exposed to many different scenarios and decisions that have various ways to be looked at and how someone would deal with it personally. Although this myth is based on a time that we will never be apart of because it was so long ago you can still see how this relates to the same things that are happening in today's world just not in the same exact scenario. The quote by Tubal–Cain in the movie he say's " Man isn't ruled by the Heavens. A man is ruled by his will." (Noah, Aronofsky) That is one part of the movie that stood out the most to me. I think it was a major part of the author's purpose in this movie, how he could show there are two sides of people and how some choose to let their selfishness rule them instead of being obedient and following the creator's rules for them. In a brief explanation of the movie, Noah is a flood myth that took place before Christ existed. It starts off with the off–springs off Cain and Abel that declared war against each other because of their beliefs. Noah, the son of Lamech says that The Creator has spoken to him through his dreams at night and that a flood is coming to wipe out the human race because of how they treated his world. He wants a fresh start to the world he created, and this is because he no longer will watch what they have done to it. Noah is told that he has a task of creating an ark for all of the animals to survive the flood since they are innocent to The Creator. Noah is only to allow his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. A Research Study On Prevention In my research I've found that prevention is the key to treatment. Here are some suggestions that I propose. Firstly, I suggest that the communities of San Juan County work together to educate the youth early and de–romanticize the drinking experience by having Al anon speakers, speak about the dangers. Real life experiences are proven to hold a greater impact on an audience rather than just some literature. There are 37 states so far to require some sort of drug and alcohol prevention in the classrooms. Although in theory this is a good idea, lack of resources and teacher education on the subject cause the idea to fall short. In a paper wrote for the Hazledon Betty Ford Foundation, Join Together, a nonprofit group established at Boston University School of Public Health reports that schools "should not be relied upon to act as the principal provider of general prevention programs." Join Together believes what's needed is "a comprehensive community prevention strategy that includes parents and other social institutions". This is further proving that early indicators of alcoholism may be prevented with the proper training and education. The strategies used in Join Together's moment include research–based prevention programs, and teacher training specifically for educating parents and students. The sooner kids and teens learn about the indicators of alcoholism the less likely they are to become young adults with alcohol dependency. Join Together also recommends that older ... God see this and decides to challenge them by having people speak different languages and by placing people in different areas around the world. Chapter 11 is a great chapter that shows us people obeying God's command to Adam and Eve, which was be fruitful and multiply. We see this especially in verses 20–26 of chapter 11, when author writes about the descendants of Shem. • 13. The Model Of Microcredit Lending While the spread of microcredit as a development practice has enabled borrowers in many developing countries to access credit, not all experiences with microcredit have been positive. The original model of microcredit lending was not effective in alleviating poverty. To remedy this, an "improved" lending model was introduced; however, this model, too, has failed the impoverished citizens of the developing world because of its exclusivity. Traditional microcredit loaning systems require some form of material collateral to ensure that a borrower will repay their loan. This excludes the ultra–poor due to their lack of possessions to use as collateral (Schurmann and Johnston 2009, 521). To solve this issue and provide the poorest citizens with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The access to and inequality of microcredit loans needs to be remedied in order for the system to be effective in alleviating poverty. To be eligible for some microcredit programs, there are strict requirements that must be met: some programs require that all children in a household receiving funds be in good health (Ott and Hauville 2004, 558), and some have a maximum land allowance, meaning that families with greater than 0.5 acres of land are ineligible to receive a microcredit loan (Ahmed 2005, 96). These requirements are unfair because families may be applying for a loan to care for their sick child, or may be unable to maximize the use of their land without a loan to be used to obtain the tools needed to work their land. This inaccessibility to and inequality in the distribution of microcredit loans has not allowed the impoverished citizens of the developing world to better their economic situation and rise out of poverty. For those people, most often women, able to access loans through any form of microcredit, the poverty that initially brought them to seek a loan is perpetuated by high interest rates and large payments required to the community. Discontent with Rabbinic Judaism, many Jewish mystics arose under the titles of "Baal Shem" or "Masters of the Name of God." However, unlike traditional Judaism, these mystics increasingly preached values based on Kabbalah, including miracle work and divine intervention . From these early mystic teachings arose Hasidic Judaism, brought into the spotlight by its leader Israel Ben Elizier, who sought to rid Judaism of strict punishment and reward in accordance to Halakha . As the figurehead and clear leader of the Hasidic movement, Ben Elizer became known as the Baal Shem Tov. The Movie : Noah And The Bible Story For my essay I will be analyzing the similarities and differences between the interpretations of Noah the film: Noah (Paramount Pictures and Regency Enterprises, 2014) and the bible story. Writer–director Darren Aronofsky, was brought up with a Jewish education and a deep fascination in the story of Noah 's ark it took him over 15 years to get the film afloat. But with all biblical movies there is always some type of controversy and unfortunately it even comes from people who have never even seen the movie. The intended audience of the film is unclear, which I find a little weird because I expected the audience to Christians and people of the Jewish faith who know the story of Noah. The beginning two and a the half minutes into the movie describes the beginning of the Book of Genesis including creation, the original sin, the curse of Cain, and anything preceding Noah. The movie continues with Noah as a child, on a hill with his father Lamech, who is about to give him an important heirloom – the skin of the original serpent from Eden– which has been passed down. Then suddenly, a large group of people led by a young king named Tubal–Cain, who wants to make that land into a mine approaches Lamech. Seeing Noah's father, Tubal–Cain kills him and takes the serpent 's skin, while Noah runs. God, a soul floating over a vacant, watery void, makes the world by talking into the dimness and calling into being light, sky, land, vegetation, and living animals through the span of six days. Every day, he stops to articulate his works "good" (1:4). On the 6th day, God announces his aim to influence a being in his "to claim picture," and he makes mankind (1:26). He designs a man out of clean and structures a lady out of the man's rib. God puts the two individuals, Adam and Eve, in the pure garden of Eden, urging them to reproduce and to appreciate the world completely, and precluding them to eat from the tree of the learning of good and evil. In the garden, Eve experiences a tricky serpent who persuades her to eat the tree's illegal natural product, guaranteeing her that she won't endure if she does as such. Eve imparts the natural product to Adam, and the two are instantly loaded with disgrace and regret. While strolling in the garden, God finds their defiance. In the wake of reviling the serpent, he turns and reviles the couple. Eve, he says, will be reviled to endure excruciating labor and should submit to her significant other's power. Adam is reviled to drudge and till the fields for sustenance. The two are along these lines ousted from Eden. Conveyed into the world, Adam and Eve bring forth two children, Cain and Abel. This was not something Paul would have done, if enslavement was sinful, declared De Bow's Review, "Now, had holding slaves been a crime, Paul's duty to Philemon would have required him to instruct Philemon, that he had no rights over Onesimus, but that attempt to hold him in servitude, was criminal[.]" Moreover, as an Apostle of Christ, Paul had an obligation to instruct Christians according to His commands, as they pertained to human bondage, believed Hopkins. Therefore, he questioned, "Why does [Paul] not write to his disciple, Philemon, and rebuke him for the awful sin of holding a fellow–man in bondage, and charge it upon him, as a solemn duty, to emancipate his slaves, at the peril of his soul?" The teacher assigned us a video to watch and I liked how they put all the technique of exponents in just one video. They said there was six tools / techies for exponents. The first tool/ technique is the power of one. For example x^1 then that would equal x because this rule says if nothing is with the exponent 1 it will always equal itself. Another tool/ technique is if you have a negative exponent then it is it's inter verse. For example if you have y^–4 then it is 1/y^4. This only works when y isn't 0. Finally, the last technique is if you have (x^3)^2 you multiple the exponents so it would equal x^6. Another subject I leaned in this unit is earthquakes. What I learned about earthquakes and what it has to do with math is there is a machine called ritcher scale and this calculates the power of the earthquake. This is related to math because ritcher scale is logarithmic which means the magnitudes of earthquakes is ten times stronger. • 30. What Are The Canaanites Who are the Canaanites? The Canaanites have been mentioned several times in the bible, but what do we know about them? Today I am going to tell you how they came to be and how the entire race of people came to an end. The whole race began at Adam and Eve. After Adam and Eve sinned and were kicked out of the garden of Eden, they had two sons, Canaan and Able. Both were loyal to the Lord, but Lord favored Able, and Canaan was bitter because of this. For this reason Canaan deceived his brother and killed him in the fields. This angered God, so he cursed Canaan and his descendants. • 31. The Covenant Is A Binding Agreement Between Two Or More... According to amightywind.com, a covenant is a legally binding agreement between two or more parties, based on unlimited responsibility. A covenant differs from a contract because covenants require trust from both parties and cannot be voided under new circumstances. In a sense covenant are stronger and more bidding forms of contracts. It is through this method God has chosen to communicate with his believers. There are seven covenants found within the Bible; which are the Abrahamic, Palestinian, Mosaic, Davidic, Adamic, Noahic, and New covenants. The Adamic, Noahic, and New apply to all of God's creation, the Abrahamic, Palestinian, and Davidic are unconditional, and the Mosaic covenant is conditional. Let's begin by discussing the Abrahamic Covenant. This covenant is first mentioned in Genesis 12:1–3 that states, "Now the LORD had had to Abram: 'Get out of your country, from your family and from your father's house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." This covenant outlines God's relationship with the Israelites as well as with the entire world. The Abrahamic covenant is seen as the guideline for all other covenant to follow. However, it was ratified with only Abraham and even he did not actively participate in signing it. Since God alone ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. The Movie Noah Directed By Darren Aronofsky The movie Noah directed by Darren Aronofsky is advertised as a representation of the biblical story of Noah and the flood. After watching this movie and reading the story in the Bible, it is evident that there are some differences between the film and the story in God's book. The film does not only use the Bible as a point of reference, but other historical books as well. The Epic of Gilgamesh or The Book of Enoch potentially influenced the production of the movie. Aronofsky's interest in these sources is understandable as he is an atheist and most likely did not want to rely on biblical text alone. The story of the flood is well known throughout the world and it has affected many people groups. There are many accounts written on the story because of this reason. The Bible has a written account of this story in Genesis, the Epic of Gilgamesh and the Book of Enoch do as well. The biblical account of Noah is the true, real story that was written by God. If one compares the film to the Bible there are many differences and similarities between the two mediums. Some of the similarities are evident, and some are more difficult to uncover. The Book of Enoch explains that Noah's grandfather is Methuselah. This is shown in the movie, but is not as prominent in the biblical version, however it is still said. Knowing this information, gives the viewer and reader a reference point of where Noah originally came from. One very noticeable parallel is how Noah and his wife were blessed ... Genesis 1-11 Genealogy In the Chapters 1–11 of Genesis, God provides the story of creation and the genealogy of those who maintained God's laws; together with, identifying those from evil lineage, and those who remained pure in the blood and spirit of God. For instance, After Cain killed Abe, God blessed Adam and Eve with Seth, and Cain was removed from God's presence. This began the first split between good and evil. Likewise, the Bible gives those descendants from Cain and Seth, so future generations know their true lineage and who was responsible for God's wrath in the great flood. After the flood Noah, Shem, Japheth, Ham, Canaan Ham's son, and their wives were left to repopulate the world, but Canaan was cursed over something his father did to Noah. This resulted ... Future generations were able to document these stories, and current influences by God. As far as the story of Israel, those early scribes maintained very accurate records of their genealogy and stories, so when future generations of Hebrews learned and kept God's laws, they would be blessed. So, I believe God created man and woman, like the angels, or the Sons of God, with free will, to choose good or evil; however, both were to serve a different purpose, but neither creations were able to deny the prince of lies and his manipulation. Most religions ignore those passages that speak of the Sons of God having children with the daughters of man, maybe, because most find it hard to believe. I believe these were the fallen angels, who fell and lusted over those women from Cain's lineage, and their offspring were the main reason for God's flood. Similarly, those future generations benefited by knowing who fell and those who walked with God, and these stories would become part of the Christian's Word of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Timothy Findley's novel "Not Wanted on the Voyage", Findley satirically tells the problem of modern age family's problem which is isolated family units, parent–with–child relation problems, and an extramarital relationship. His version of the story of the Biblical patriarch Noah and his family. In many societies based on Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, the original Biblical story of Noah and his family is considered to be an excellent example of what a family should be. However in Findley's version, he tells the story of a dysfunctional family. What Findley really wants to say is that as society goes through major changes catalyzed breaking the relationship of Family, it exposes to uses the flood catalyzed the fragility of trust within the family unit. This is evident by Dr. Noah's marital issue with Mrs. Noyes, Noah's sons' aggression towards his own parents, and Hannah's affair with her father–in–law. In the family unit, the father is male parent who raises the child and supports his children and wife. However in Findley's version of Noah's story, he tells about the problem of modern ages' isolating family units. Noah's wife, Mrs. Noyes, is one of the women in the family and a mother to Noah's children. Compared to Noah in this novel, her power was restrained. She did not have too much power in family units. • 35. Compare And Contrast Hassidism And Zionism Zionism and Hassidism are two entirely responses to one of the greatest questions in Jewish thought; how are the Jews to rule themselves without a sovereign? The immensity of this pondering has birthed many movements, though Zionism and Hassidism were both particularly successful at capturing the imagination and allegiance of many. While Hassidism adopts a highly spiritual outlook on exile, redemption and the return to Zion, Zionism supports a territorial and political approach to the question of Jewish sovereignty. Hassidism tackles the issue of sovereignty through the embracement of seclusion, anti–modernity and spirituality, while Zionism embodies a much more politicized, nationalized and modernistic approach: while Hassidism takes great lengths to essentially freeze Jewish history, Zionism adapts its ideologies to the surrounding, contemporary world. Hassidism is a sect of Judaism that arose as a reaction to the studious and law–oriented tendencies of the religion, as well as the centralized and often corrupted rabbinical rule of the time. Emerging in 17th century Poland as both an intellectual and religious movement , Hassidism claimed that the traditional life of rabbinical study was inaccessable to all, ... • 36. Application Of A Smart Home ABSTRACT Residential area consume a lot of energy and electricity. The lack of energy resources give impact to the rise of energy cost, thus to have a convenient home is extremely important in the future. One of the way to reduce the costs in this issue is by using the energy efficiently. The idea of energy saving is applied in the concept of a smart home. This project aims to develop an algorithm to estimate the energy plans for future periods in a smart home in order to achieve energy efficiency. Using the Household Demand Side Management (DSM) systems, the total usage of energy in the future can be predicted according to the demand supply in the smart home. Furthermore, it is estimated that the simultaneousness between production and consumption of the electricity will be increasing. In this case, the house owner should be able to manage and plan to use the electricity wisely. Powerful tools such as MATLAB / Simulink allow the design, analysis and simulation of this project. This project will in divided into various stages including researching, experimenting, modelling, testing and designing in order to achieve the required objectives. In Numbers 18 the Most High says, speaking about the priesthood, that it is an eternal covenant with Aaron and the Levites that these are the duties that he and they have. What 's clear here is no one from the Davidic line in the tribe of Judah could ever bring an incense offering into mikdash ha–kodesh(the holy of holies) in the Temple Lev 16:12–13. There can never be a high priest from the house of David. The priesthood belongs to Aaron, his sons and the Levites forever. This next point must be addressed. There is a lot of reference made about Gentiles and Jews but it comes much later in the New Testament when the Jews having already rejected Jesus Christ sought to assert religious superiority and thus the word Gentiles features but it too makes no racial distinction, there were no brown black or white Gentiles, everyone else who wasn't a Jew was just a gentile, nothing more nothing less. Their idea of ethnic superiority did not come from God as seen in Genesis 12:3 When God called Abraham, he said "In thee all thee families of earth would be blessed.". Genesis 22:18, says that Abraham's seed "all the nations of earth would be blessed." The New Testament resonates with the old as Paul says in Galatians 3:6. God's offer of salvation was to the entire world (see Matt. 28:19–20; Acts 1:8; 10:1–11:18; I John 2:2). New Testaments show that God does not hold any significance to race. God sees us as one people; as "man." The physical characteristics of different races have nothing to do with how God evaluates man As the classic passage in Romans 10:11–13: "For the scripture saith, whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. God told him to bring one male and female of every kind of animal into the Ark and enough food for all the people and the animals. It is believed that Noah had Granddaughters. But if so then why did they not go into the Ark. From what I can understand Noah's three granddaughters married wicked men and forsake the house of their fathers. So more than likely Satan wanted Jonah dead for many reasons but mainly: 1) He saw that Jonah was going to be a prophet of the Lord. 2) That Jonah saved hundreds and probably thousands from wrath of God. 3) Satan just likes destruction and wants all to die and burn in Hell. The number of years Noah was building the Ark. "How many years did it take him?" "How did you come to this conclusion?" The bible doesn't really say how long it took, but it was less than one hundred and twenty years. (Genesis– 5:32, 6:4, and 7:6) Some people have made the claim that this passage means that it took Noah one hundred and twenty years to build the Ark. Even given the Ark's massive scale. (Roughly four hundred and fifty feet long by seventy–five feet wide by forty–feet high), one hundred and twenty years seems like an excessively long time to take to build the Ark. Most biblical scholars agree that God was saying the he was giving mankind, one hundred and twenty years in which to repent, after which would come judgement for their wickedness.
