2. It is a disease caused by the deposition of abnormal
proteins (amyloid) in the tissues. The deposit is usually
progressive and, depending on the affected organ, its
function may be altered. This ilness is chronic (a long time
) , infectious (is provided by a bacteria or a virus) and
soporadic (few people )
3. Sometimes the production and deposition of amyloid
material is related to the presence of certain diseases
(multiple myeloma, rheumatoid arthritis ...) or as a
consequence of long-term hemodialysis.
4. It can produce four overlapping cardiovascular syndromes:
Restrictive cardiomyopathy. It is characterized because the heart
becomes very rigid and has difficulty filling.
Systolic congestive heart failure. Characterized by a progressive
deterioration of the contractile force of the heart.
hostatic hypotension. Produced by the deposition of amyloid
material in the blood vessels and the vegetative nervous system.
Disorders of the conduction system. Arrhythmias, both
tachyarrhythmias (> 100 beats per minute) and bradyarrhythmias
(<60 beats per minute) may occur.
7. TREATMENT
there is no treatment
It treats the heart failure that occurs , but now there are lot of
people that are helping persons whith this ilness so they can
live more and better
8. Is given more in men than in women and after 40
years
