Hello Learner!
How did you find your lesson in irregular adjectives? Did you
enjoy answering the exercises?
Today we will learn more about adjectives.
This time we will find out how adjectives make up a series and
how the adjectives in a series are sequenced.
Read the paragraph. Arrange the adjectives properly. Write your
answers in your notebook. The first set is done for you.
1. The plane flew over (some, grassy, green, wide) some, wide,
grassy, green plains. 2. I saw (long, two, narrow) __________,
__________, __________ rivers which looked like white threads on the

Read the paragraphs. Take note of the underlined words.
It was Mother’s birthday. At home, Roy and Mary planned to give
her a surprise on her birthday. They bought twelve lovely red flowers.
They arranged them in a vase.
Soon Mother returned home from the market. She saw the
beautiful red roses on the table.
“Happy Birthday, Mother!”, came the surprise greeting. She was
touched by their act.
Answer the questions.

2. What was Roy and Mary’s plan for Mother?
3. Where did the story take place?
4. How did Mother feel when she saw the lovely flowers?

o Twelve, lovely, and red are the words that describe flowers.
o Beautiful and red describe roses.
- How are these descriptive words sequenced?
- What does each adjective tell?
- What do we call adjectives that come one after another?
o Twelve tells the number or quantity of the noun.
o Lovely and beautiful tell the kind or quality of the noun.
o Red tells the color of the noun.
o Adjectives that come one after another make up a series. We
call them adjectives in a series.

What do adjectives tell?
How do we arrange adjectives in a series?
Adjectives can tell us how many, what size, what shape, what
kind, how old, or what color?
Sometimes we use more than one adjective to describe a
person, a place, or an object. We called them adjectives in a series.
