1. Evaluation question 4
How did you use media technologies
in the construction and research,
planning and evaluation stages.
2. Research and Planning
• The research and planning proccess made me
look into different music genres as well as my
chosen genre; i also had to look at real media
texts so i could plan my own. I used several
different tools to achieve this:
3. Blogger
• Blogger has always been the main tool i used
to upload all my coursework on the internet.
Blogger is such a useful tool, as it offers a
great presentation and layout. It also helped
me receiving feedback from the teacher, this
way i was able to make changes instantly.
Blogger also makes it much easier to look at
past publications.
4. Prezi
Prezi is a great tool used mainly for
presentations; prezi also allows you to store past
presentations, which you can access to whenever
you want. Prezi can easily be embedded on
Blogger, which makes it great to create most of
my online presentations in that format.
5. Other websites
• Youtube: we used Youtube to watch different
videos related to different genres as well as
real media products and other students
videos. We also used it to upload our own
content; such as our pitch, audience
interviews or our final music video.
• Google: Google is the search engine we always
used, as it is quick and precise in general.
6. Other websites 2
• BBC class test: we used it to check the social
status our target audience has. It provided us
with very valuable information that we used
to create and to meet our target audience
• Powtoon: Powtoon is another kind of
presentation software which helps you create
dynamic presentations and allows you to
create videos as well.
7. Construction
• In this stage i used all my knowledge and
research work in order to produce my own
music video.
8. Sony Vegas
• Sony Vegas Studio Platinum 12.0 is the editing
software provided by the school; it was a
simple and easy to use program, which made
things less complicated. Sony Vegas features a
wide variety of filters and effects which can be
used to change the mood of the video and to
give different feelings. Sony Vegas was a very
useful and versatile tool that made the editing
work quite easy.
9. Photoshop
• I used in both of my ancillary tasks. It is the
best image manipulation software I know, and
although its use is a bit tricky, it offers high
quality results. I used Photoshop to create my
digipak cover, and after that I used it again to
create the magazine advert for the digipak.
Photoshop offers a wide range of tools such as
different filters or colour manipulation.
10. Cameras
• We used Panasonic HD cameras. These
cameras gave us high quality images and good
quality sound. It had an SD card, which made
things easy to upload my contents onto a
computer. Its tactile screen and the simple
layout made the camera really easy to use.
