• Throughout the construction , planning and evaluation stages
of producing my music video and ancillary tasks there was a
range of different media technologies that I used to ensure
that my blog was media-rich. Below is a list of some of these
media technologies that I’ve used this year:
• Adobe Premiere Pro
• Livetype
• YouTube
• Slideshare
• Adobe photoshop
• Prezi
3. Adobe Premiere Pro
Adobe Premiere Pro is the programme in which we
used to edit our music videos, the tools available on
this programme include various transitions and
colour correction methods along with other editing
techniques that enabled me to generate a more
cinematic feel to my music video.
4. • It also allowed me to develop and fine tine my editing
skills due to the quality of the programme, the
preciseness of the cut tool ensured that I could cut to the
beat efficiently and produce a final product that flowed
well with the music.
5. Livetype
• Livetype is a programme I had very little experience with
beforehand but once I got used to using it, it became a key
tool in the production of my music video. This is because it
enabled me to use typography in my music video which gave
my music video a different dynamic as it added a narrative
effect to the chorus to emphasise the importance of certain
lyrics in the song.
6. YouTube
• YouTube has been key to the research stages as it has enabled
me to get information on different media technologies in
which I have used throughout the process as well as it enabled
me to look at current music videos to understand common
conventions used in different styles of music videos. This was
evidenced on my Glogster productions in which I looked into
different artists that I could choose to use for my music video.
7. Slideshare
• Slideshare has also played a key role in the research stages as
it enabled me to evidence my research into my audience and
potential artists on my blog. It is a relatively simple program to
use as it just requires you to upload the PowerPoint you have
created to your account and then you are able to embed the
PowerPoint to your blog or share it on the website.
8. Adobe Photoshop
• Adobe Photoshop is the program I used to create both of my
ancillary tasks so it was important that I had a lot of practice
with this program so that I was able to create a good quality
digipack and music magazine. This is evidenced on my blog
with the practice digipack and music magazine that I created.
It was vital in the production of both of these as the colour
correction tools available enabled me to ensure that all text is
clear so that the audience can read it. This meant that I could
generate a more professional final piece for both of my
ancillary tasks.
9. Prezi
• Prezi is a presentation program that I had used last year
briefly. This program gave me another dynamic when
presenting my evaluation questions as well as my audience
research. This program gives a more professional view as the
animated transitions are smooth and the various layout
designs you can choose from the templates. This program lets
you edit the path of the presentation so you can choose to
view different pieces of texts or a picture in a specific order so
you can layout it out exactly how you want.
