Solution The basic difference between torts an dcrime is as follows 1. Definition - A tort is the wrongful act which may may harm or injured to another peron or property. A crime is the wronful act where federal government identifies as crime. 2. Court or Cases - A tort is a civil case proceeding whereas crime case is the criminal proceeding 3. Parties invovled - In tort, parties involved is accused as the \'defandant\' and victim as the \'plaintiff\'. In crime, accused is considered as \'defendant\'. The victim could be any city, state, or government entity. 4. Sanctions - In tort case, if the charges are proved by plaintiff then defendant has to pay some charges for the damages caused to plaintiff. In crime case, if the defandent looses, severe punishment is imposed by government. The punishment could be defendant sentenced to jail or paying huge fine to government or both. 5.
