4. The Lasam Academy Incorporated started as a branch of
the Northern Philippines Academy of Gattaran, Cagayan, a
secondary institution under the operation and control of the
United Methodist Church of Gattaran. The idea of opening a
branch at the newly established Municipality of Lasam (formerly
Barrio Macatabang of Gattaran) was conceptualized by the school
principal, Atty. Florencio Castillo, one of the prominent
businessmen at the time.
Then, when Atty. Castillo was able to negotiate a one-
hectare lot from the late Basilio Oao Medrano, the school
buildings were finally built and the Lasam Academy was finally
established.
The Department of Education issued a government permit
#329 on May 10, 1951 recognizing the Lasam Academy as
legitimate Secondary Educational Institution, separate and
distinct from the Northern Philippines Academy.
5. On its 65 years of existence, through thick and thin,
it is indeed that Lasam Academy Incorporated is firmly
adhering to its vocation as a molder of young and brilliant
minds. Thus, the academic has always been recognized whether
academic, sports or socio- cultural endeavors. It continues to
build, link and connect to the needs of its stockholders and
to the demands of this challenging world. And last August 28,
2015, the Department of Education granted the Lasam Academy
Incorporated its permit to operate senior high school with
permit #S-087, s. 2015. Hence, we would be offering General
Academic Strand (adlib) so come and enroll now to experience
quality education here at Lasam Academy Incorporated.
6. Yes, as the K-12 implemented, Lasam
Academy offers the GAS or the General Academic
Strand for the senior high school students. Teachers
continuously produce a well-rounded and brilliant
students which are globally competitive that are
aligned with the international education standard.
