3. Histories
A distinguished family trust established the Ali Institute of Education in 1992 with the primary goal of providing teachers for schools in Pakistan. This
effort was also supported by the UNDP (Sweden), and SIDA (Sweden), in order to improve education quality in Pakistan. The Ali Institute of Education believes that teachers can be agents of change.
They can help to transform the educational system of Pakistan. The AIE offers both pre-service and post-service programs to help teachers fulfill their potential.
The Ali Institute has gained prestige since 1992 and has a greater focus on improving education quality in Pakistan. We believe teachers can be agents of change and transform Pakistani education. The
Ali Institute offers short courses, workshops, and programmes in teacher education, as well as consultancy.
Services, encourages dialogue, advocacy, research, and development, regularly publishes an academic journal, and supports the community in its outreach and community connections.
4. The Ali Institute of Education, a Teacher-Education Institute, is
dedicated to improving education in Pakistan and encouraging
professionalism among teachers.
Pre-service and inservice teacher education is provided. We
also offer advice services for school management, school
design and curriculum practices. Through publications and
indigenous research, the Institute is committed to the
dissemination of information and advocacy for appropriate
policies and practices in education.
AIE aims to address the education needs of rural and female
teachers, and to promote education for underprivileged and
marginalised groups of society.

6. Chairman's Message
Syed Ahsan Ali's daughters (1880 - 1942) and Syed Maratib Ali's sons and daughters (1883 – 1961) donated nine
acres of land on Ferozepur Road, Lahore, to the Industrial, Technical and Educational Institute, a non-profit organization
registered under the Societies Registration act of 1860 to create a vocational training school. It began operations in 1972 under
the Ali Industrial Technical Institute(AITI). The trustees of the ITEI decided in 1992 to eliminate the technical school and create a
teacher training institute under the Ali Institute of Education (AIE).
7. As chairman of the AIE's Management Committee, I pledge my continued support to its educational program and wish the
organization all the best in its efforts to improve the quality of education.
It was a privilege to be associated with the establishment of the first school, the AITI, and its successor, Ali Institute of Education.
Both institutes were founded with the primary goal of spreading knowledge to the highest level possible for the benefit of the country.
Many educationists informed me that primary education is where students suffer the most from the learning process. If we want to make
positive changes to the educational impasse, we need to address the country's primary education. The Ali Institute of Education has a
stated mission that aims to improve the quality of primary education in Pakistan by promoting teaching as a profession.
