2. Staff confidence and skill level in using ICT is high at Mellons Bay School. Two thirds of staff reported being confident or very confident in their use and skill level of ICT in March. In September staff reported similar confidence and skill levels. A further pleasing note, was that the staff who had little confidence in March are now gaining confidence. Where to next… Provide opportunities for confident staff to support others – workshops, ICT mentors/buddies, staff meetings, cluster meetings, team planning. Develop our personal ICT skills through setting achievable appraisal goals.
3. All MBS staff are using the internet for classroom programming . In March 40% of staff were using the internet regularly or frequently to gather online material and resources for classroom programming, this rose to 65% in September. Where to next… Critique online resources and materials in terms of their potential and effectiveness to raise student engagement and achievement. Promote online resources. Provide an infrastructure and hardware systems which supports new online software and resources.
4. Staff confidence and skill level in using ICT is positively growing. A third of our teachers were feeling confident or very confident in using ICT to improve student learning, engagement and achievement in March. This confidence has continue to rise in 2008. Where to next… Continue to read professional readings and contribute responses and thoughts within various professional communities. Continue to develop a curriculum and teaching pedagogy that supports the integration of ICT into classrooms. Provide assessment tools and student manager system for teachers to track, analyse and use data to raise student achievement.
