1. Design Ideas 1:
I do understand that it may reduce the amount of marks I get but I have chosen for my pot this size because I feel that if I do a large pot I will have loads of space and run out of time and design ideas to fill in the gaps with. I think that making it this shape, size and thickness will make my pot strong.
I have chosen this shape because it is unique by being rounded and curved at the edges. I have done this so my pot stands out and is different from the others. From the research I have done I have found out that making a rounded pot will take extra work and technique.
I have decided that I will not add on extra bits to my pot like a lift or handle because from past experiences, handles and small pieces of clay have been broken or damaged in the kiln.
I have picked pictures, photos and text that represent my identity, what I like and what I stand for. I will collage pictures, text and tracing on my pot. I think this would have a good impact on my pot by making it look unique and also giving off a message just like the artist I have studied and researched; Grayson Perry.
I have also decided not to use many colours, as I do not want my pot to look unattractive or overcrowded. I have chosen to use materials like paper, card, and tissue paper because they are easy materials to apply onto my pot.
If I were to make my pot again I would make it bigger.
